I've still never been able to hear anything that remotely resembles a "grunt" on the bridge of A-Six...there are no vocals of any kind on that track, whatsoever. The LPUX version of the WID remix has a shorter bridge (roughly 6 seconds shorter IIRC), and the guitar cuts out at the end of the quiet section that leads into the last chorus, where it doesn't on the original release. As long as LPU XIV doesn't launch November 7th or earlier (which I'm sure it won't), I'm good. I actually had to let my membership lapse this year but I should be able to renew it next time I get paid...hopefully...

Jesus fucking christ. Give the goddamn movie based on a book that Joe didn't write a chance before you go all "gets offended at absolutely everything involving remotely controversial phrasing" on it. Attitudes like yours epitomize EVERYTHING that is wrong with modern society. Welcome to the 21st century and the world ruled by the perpetually offended.

You only think that because you don't understand the idea of changing a song's key...Shadow of the Day is originally in B major, Leave Out All the Rest and Iridescent are in A minor, which is the harmonic minor of C major. Shadow of the Day is transposed up half a step to C major so it fits with the other two songs in the medley. Not saying Chester doesn't struggle with the Ballad Medley, but saying he "sings too high" is simply untrue. He sings the melody of all 3 songs exactly the way he always has, the SOTD portion is just a half step higher than it was recorded.

'White Noise' from MALL Soundtrack available for download!

Ammosick is seen on the board in the studio on Meeting of A Thousand Suns with "The Last Line" written right next to it. No need to question the accuracy of the titles, they're confirmed. -
And there are also numerous samples from Castle of Glass, Holding Company (Lost in the Echo), Roads Untraveled, Lies Greed Misery, Primo (I'll Be Gone - at least some of the samples found in Stagelight aren't present in the ATS-era demo), and Battle Axe (Victimized). We don't "know" where a lot of the remaining samples originated from, but there sure is a lot more up-tempo beat-driven stuff (Living Things-esque) in there than down-tempo ambient stuff (ATS-esque).

A LOT of the Stagelight demos are from the Living Things sessions, not ATS...

*facepalm* It's a film score, not a soundtrack, guys. The titles come from the scenes they're used in. The Raid score titles were done in EXACTLY the same manner. -

Downside to a full set: We'll probably only get half of it at most on the TV broadcast. -

Here's what I'm concerned about: If they release the SCORE instead of the SOUNDTRACK, will the versions of White Noise, Luna etc. be the shortened versions used in the film, or will they be the full songs? -

Guitar Center isn't just a guitar store. They sell everything music-related. The name means nothing and certainly has no bearing on what songs will be played. -
It's certainly possible that Not Alone was one of the 17, but I'm sure the band had plenty of other seeds from the Minutes to Midnight era that could be considered "semi-finished" too. Without the previous incarnation of Not Alone available to listen to, we don't really know exactly how "finished" it was. So it could be the 17th song, but there isn't really anything that makes it more likely to be the 17th song than any other seed that was worked on during the MTM period. We simply don't know enough about the song to be sure.

Ah, I see, so you're a transphobic piece of shit. Good to know.

I don't really have the skill set to be a professional guitar tech. I've been playing for 14 years and I still take my guitar to the shop for anything more complex than basic string changing/cleaning/adjustments. I could tune the guitars and know when to swap them out, but I'd probably be lost with just about everything else Benjamin does.

Same vocal take, different part of the song. The lyric gets repeated multiple times. You can hear the last couple lines from the section with the vocal melody we're already familiar with when the vocals fade back in near the end of the video.

I swear you ask this like every 6 months. No Roads Left, Across the Line, Blackbirds, What We Don't Know are confirmed as songs 13-16 (NRL/ATL confirmed directly by the band, Blackbirds confirmed via being the "sixth strings song" seen on the DVD, What We Don't Know confirmed because it was mixed by Neal Avron, meaning it made it to the very end of the process unlike numerous other MTM demos). The 17th song could theoretically be any number of things, original version of Not Alone, Ammosick, Debris...I think all of those are unlikely though since Ammosick/Debris sound noticeably "unfinished," and Not Alone didn't have finalized lyrics until it was reworked for the Haiti compilation later on. Same could be said for Pretend to Be, which wasn't finished until the following year. We'd be looking for something that would be a completely finished song like the other 4, so I've always believed that the 17th song is something completely unknown to us. The only other thing I can think of is maybe Pale or Announcement Service Public were in consideration as an alternate album intro/second instrumental piece in addition to Wake, but those seem pretty unlikely to me, particularly ASP since it was released on LPU6 way before the album was even done. I would think Wake would be counted as among the 17 since it was a seed that was worked on throughout the process just like everything else, not something they just tacked on after the rest of the album was done like they did with Foreword. Wake was always intended to be an intro/instrumental piece though, as evidenced by it being called "WAKE Album Intro Idea" as a seed. Rob was probably just setting it apart from the other tracks on the album as not being a "full" song.

Saying he's leaving the band is obviously jumping to conclusions on an epic scale, but Brad's general lack of interest on tour lately is well-documented, and the parallels between this incident and the Japan shows in 2012 are uncanny. Perfectly reasonable to speculate that he's not actually sick, IMO.

Gotta love seeing the Brazilian "fans" talking shit about "how much LP sucks" based on the difficulties with this show. These are probably the same leeches who flood every goddamn band member chat with "LP COEM 2 BRAZIL" and shit. Why does LP continue to keep going back to this country? The government sucks, the people suck, and the ratio of scam artists to legitimate businesspeople in the music industry down there is about 10 to 1. The place is a shithole in every way imaginable, and I really don't care who I offend in saying so because it's the fucking truth. Maybe Brad had the right idea in not going.
-
Here's what concerns me about the Brad situation: June 2012: LP does 2 performances in Japan, where Brad is absent. His absence is never acknowledged by the band, and when they play in Los Angeles a few days later, Brad is there and appears completely fine. October 2014: LP does 2 performances in Brazil, where Brad is absent...coincidentally, they play in Los Angeles a few days later. Does Brad just not even bother doing these short travel legs when he knows they're coming right back home anyway?

All things considered, I'm VERY impressed with how Benjamin's played tonight. He not only knows the material, he knows the majority of the little variations Brad throws into the live versions as well, even down to Brad playing an add9 variation on the F# chord in the chorus of In the End when it's normally just a regular F#. He played about as well as Brad typically does these days, to be honest. The keyboard issues and the clusterfuck that was BID were much bigger issues. Hopefully Brad's alright.
