  1. Apparently Joe let him take over for him on one song. You'd think the band would have said something or someone would have noticed, lol.
  2. Finally got to listen to this, and I'm amazed that nobody's pointed out the OBNOXIOUS out-of-time clicking noises littered all over this recording. Literally sounds like someone took a metronome ticking sound effect from a DAW and dropped it into the recording at random with no regard for the BPM of the songs. Breakdown of Papercut, beginning/scratch solo/outro of With You...they're so bad they practically ruin the entire experience of this otherwise beautifully-mixed recording. Ugh. *Edit* HUGE mid-word skip during Mike's speech after Points of Authority too. Holy fuck is this amateur. It took them 2 months to give us this shit? *Edit 2* Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR audible Auto Tune glitches on Chester's voice during Crawling. I'm hearing all this stuff on my first listen without rewinding anything, people.
  3. Some of the production budget was paid for by a group of French investors, so they released the movie in France back in June (under the alternate title of "A Day to Kill," which Joe Hahn hates). http://www.amazon.com/Mall-Eric-Bogosian/dp/0743214552
  4. First "DSP-style"/official release of a live version of Forgotten, but definitely not the first SBD recording.
  5. Yeah, he's in the second verse now that I listen again. Not sure about the outro.
  6. I seem to be the only person who thinks AFI sucks live (I've had that opinion for close to 10 years too - I remember MTV showing a 30-minute edited version of one of their Sing the Sorrow shows - they were AWFUL), so no worries. This is a tour of 3 bands who are all exceptionally better in the studio than they are live, although LP does a significantly better job live than the other 2.
  7. I actually GREATLY prefer it this way, because then the acapella lines up perfectly with the instrumental. If you're using these for remixes, it saves you a lot of trouble with syncing the initial tracks up. Good to know the MTG issue was just an isolated thing. I can personally deal with the little glitch in the AFN instrumental, but it's still annoying. All of the singing vocals on GATS, War, Wastelands, and Final Masquerade are Chester, as far as I can tell. Mike's backing vocals are all over pretty much every other song. Also, you can clearly hear Mike doubling Page on the AFN chorus on the acapella. Kind of cool.
  8. Don't have anything to add to the "mystery lyrics" on Wastelands, but the Rebellion/Runaway/Wastelands video made me notice another correction to the setlist: Runaway has a short extended intro.
  9. This is still coming out on Tuesday in the U.S., right? I think at that point, we need to download from both the iTunes and Amazon sources and figure out whether or not the issues with Mark the Graces (acapella) and All For Nothing (instrumental) are a release-wide problem or just issues stemming from a certain source. I REALLY hope they didn't fuck this up, because I know how much of a pain in the ass it can be to report stuff like this to companies like iTunes and get it resolved.
  10. Alright, got it. Corrections/confirmations of corrections we've already made for the WHOLE setlist (this includes both shows so far, plus the production rehearsal, except when noted otherwise): -The new intro contains the following, roughly in order: Session, 1STP KLOSR, The Requiem, The Summoning, The Catalyst, and Guilty All the Same. The 1STP KLOSR sample was also present in the original Requiem/Catalyst intro, so it should be added/noted on previous show pages too (it's basically a short 3-5 second loop of the intro droning synth from 1STP KLOSR, pitched up half a step). The new intro was apparently slightly longer at the production rehearsal, which is probably the origin of the "cutting 8 bars" note on the setlist (although that doesn't explain why it's still listed by the title of the previous intro!). I'd go with "Session/1STP KLOSR/The Requiem/The Summoning/The Catalyst/Guilty All the Same (Mashup Intro)" and shorten the song titles as necessary to make it fit (we'll probably just have to use "GATS"). I would just call the production rehearsal version "extended mashup intro" or something to note that it was longer and make a show note about it. -As previously noted, the Runaway/Wastelands transition is exactly the same except for Chester doing the first line of the Runaway bridge before Mike starts rapping. -Lost in the Echo: This one has been shortened from Europe, and now just goes Intro > Verse 1 > Chorus > Outro. The chorus is actually Chorus 1, but with the Chorus 3 ending/transition into the outro (it starts like Chorus 1 but has the scream transition into the outro). -New Divide: This is exactly the same version from Europe, with the addition of an outro beat transition into Crawling. -Crawling/With You: This should be one entry, the With You verse is done over one of the sampled beats from Crawling and comes right out of the end of the song. As for Crawling itself, it's longer than the Europe version, but appears to be at the same faster tempo. This time, it goes Intro > Chorus 1 > Verse 1 > Last Chorus/Outro. "Crawling (Shortened - no Verse 2, ext. outro w/With You v1, faster tempo)" is probably how I'd note it. -Lastly, as previously mentioned, Until It's Gone is shortened with the second half of Verse 1, all of Chorus 1, and the first half of Verse 2 cut. The remaining "hybrid verse" does a kind of crossfade thing halfway through it. One thing I'm still not clear on: Was the Rebellion intro extended? I've heard some reports that it was, but none of the videos of it currently show the very beginning of the song.
  11. Capacity of the Grandstand is 17,000. There will be far more people at the fair itself though. Even with Tuesday being about the least busy day of the fair, they still usually pull in over 100,000 that day.
  12. Having a powwow with Mark in a bit. We're gonna figure this shit out.
  13. Mark's saying he's pretty sure the intro they've been doing the first two shows was different than the one at the rehearsal. Maybe that's where the "cut 8 bars" note on the setlist comes from. He seems to think there was a more substantial Session portion towards the beginning. We should hopefully get this straightened out soon. *Edit* I hear everything you're talking about now except the Session sample (I'm also not entirely convinced that the synth thing is from 1STP KLOSR, pretty sure it's the same one from the original Requiem/Catalyst intro, which I was even debating back then). If Session's in there, it's literally audible for like 1.5 seconds before the "main" synth comes in.
  14. I'd hold off on it for now until we get better quality audio to determine what's in there. You'd probably just have to change it again. The weird thing is, the on-stage setlists still refer to it as "Requiem/Catalyst intro" with a "(cutting 8 bars)" note next to it...yet it's definitely a COMPLETELY different piece. Also, another correction: New Divide DOES have the bridge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxJTFjysnqo Exactly the same as the Europe version, with the addition of an outro beat transition into Crawling.
  15. I've said it before and I'll say it again: LP has been endorsing Antares since Hybrid Theory (they're listed in the booklet), and Auto Tune was basically the only popular plugin Antares had on the market in 2000. The Auto Tune plugin is also visible on Mike's computer in the Waves plugin video he shot at his home studio during the A Thousand Suns era. They've used Auto Tune on every studio album. 100%. Re: Ballad Medley - Can't pinpoint exactly when it happened, but compare some of the 2012 performances to some of the 2013 ones, and you'll notice the difference. LP has been using Auto Tune on select songs/portions of songs live for "the last couple years," per my source (and that was as of May when this cycle started, so presumably since the start of the Living Things tour). Just trust me on this. Even prior to using Auto Tune itself, they were running a rack-mounted vocal pitch correction effect as far back as the Minutes to Midnight tours.
  16. Can't honestly tell if he just messed up the lyrics or if he changed something. Need better audio to be sure. I guess it's something to watch out for at future shows. Yes, The Summoning is in there, and WTF, how the hell did anyone come up with "Session/The Requiem/The Catalyst/GATS" for that intro? I literally just hear The Summoning, some samples from GATS, and a bunch of other unidentifiable shit. No Requiem/Catalyst/Session at all as far as I can tell...
  17. I just don't get the point. They've shown they're willing to break curfew on this tour, yet they felt the need to shorten the biggest single from their most recent album that just came out 7 weeks ago by approximately 45 seconds? Really?
  18. I have to correct something, because LPL has been getting it totally wrong since the production rehearsal. Until It's Gone actually goes half of verse 1 > half of verse 2, then the rest of the song. They actually cut the second half of verse 1, the first chorus, and the first half of verse 2. They literally do one verse and switch from v1 to v2 halfway through it. It's in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khlVv7PgS6Y Also, clarifying the Runaway outro: It's exactly the same as it was on the Europe tour, just with the addition of Chester doing the first line of the bridge right before Mike goes into the Wastelands verse. Pretty sure there are a couple other things we need to tweak, but still waiting for more video.
  19. Not if LP hits the stage at their normal time instead of almost an hour late like they did yesterday.
  20. Studio? Hybrid Theory. Live? Living Things tour.
  21. They might do the opposite since New Divide was such a huge hit, but no way would they do it that way, LITE went pretty much unnoticed as a single. That's why I just kept them both shortened, lol.
  22. Leto must be soundchecking the other half of the lyrics that he didn't sing last night. Maybe if you go to 2 shows in a row, you'll get to hear him sing everything.
  23. Alright, doing this one more time. Basically fixing all the stupid shit that's wrong with the Carnivores setlist: 01. Session/The Catalyst/The Requiem/Guilty All the Same (mashup intro) 02. Guilty All the Same 03. Given Up (ext. outro w/extra note) 04. Points of Authority (w/shortened intro) 05. One Step Closer (w/ext. outro) 06. Blackout (shortened instrumental, transition outro) 07. Papercut 08. Rebellion 09. Wastelands 10. Castle of Glass (Experience Version) (piano transition outro w/Drawbar tease) 11. Final Masquerade 12. Robot Boy (shortened instrumental) 13. Joe Solo Medley 14. Burn it Down 15. Waiting For the End (Apaches intro, Wall of Noise outro) 16. Mike Solo Medley 17. Numb (Numb/Encore intro, outro, and first verse guitar) 18. In the End 19. Faint (w/ext. outro) 20. Until It's Gone (w/extended The Catalyst/New Divide/No More Sorrow mashup intro, ext. outro transition) 21. A Light That Never Comes 22. Lost in the Echo (shortened) 23. New Divide (shortened) 24. What I've Done (w/extended bridge solo) 25. Bleed it Out (ext. intro, ext. bridge w/drum solo and The Catalyst refrain, ext. outro) -Keep the new intro, because why not. -Play all of Papercut. -Drop both the shortened With You AND Runaway, not because I don't like them, but dropping one and keeping the other is just killing the flow of Act II right now, and it opens up some time for more full songs. -Give Wastelands the regular album version intro. -Tack the end of Drawbar on the end of the COG outro piano transition, then have it go into Final Masquerade, which replaces the Ballad Medley that nobody wants to hear. It also puts FM in a much better setlist spot, it's really weird between WFTE and Mike's solo right now. -Revert back to the European intro to UIG, and play the full song, because the intro is cool, and holy shit is shortening the biggest single off your album that just came out two months ago the dumbest thing Linkin Park has ever done in their career. -Drop the shortened Crawling because it still sucks donkey balls, and play all of ALTNC (I just REALLY want this song to get a fucking chance live, okay?). -LITE and New Divide should be the Europe versions, not the newer, even shorter ones. I'd be willing to concede and have the shorter versions if the set runs a bit long, though (it SHOULD be about the same time-wise if I'm doing the math right, though). -Give What I've Done its normal intro back because the new one is stupid as hell. Would this really be THAT fucking hard to do, LP? It's the same length time-wise as your current set, and this one actually makes some fucking sense. I didn't put ANYTHING in there that would be remotely "too unusual to do."
  24. On any show page for a cancelled show, the giant red "CANCELLED" text overlaps any show notes on the page, making some of them impossible to read.
  25. Chester's back has been a recurring problem ever since he initially threw it out back in the fall of 2008. He's said a couple times that he often "tweaks" his back while out on tour and goes through a lot of pain. I've heard that Chester probably needs some major surgery to fix the problem, but it's the kind that would keep him out of action for several months, so he doesn't want to do it. I appreciate Chester's resiliency and reluctance to cancel shows, but I don't want the guy to end up in a fucking wheelchair before he's 50. I think we can all agree that we like Chester better when he can, you know, WALK. Still not sure if Chester's back was related to the reasoning for the show being delayed, though. It seems like Chester was fine physically at the start of the show (although there was definitely "something" going on), he didn't act like he was in pain until around the time of the encore.
