I really don't think they're anywhere close to done. Unless they do something Japan '06-esque, I think they'll be cutting it fairly close on 2016 being the first year in Linkin Park's history without a single tour date. I don't expect ANY concrete new album news until mid-summer at the earliest.

I still don't understand exactly how this works, because I've been told numerous times by RSD-participating stores over the years that the entire point of RSD is that you have to physically go to your local record store to take part in it. You can't pre-order anything, you can't reserve a copy of anything, and you can't order anything online unless there's extra stock after RSD is over.

http://lplive.net/shows/db/2015/20150719- "Ext. Intro" listed for One Step Closer, should be "Ext. Outro." http://lplive.net/shows/db/2015/20150724 and http://lplive.net/shows/db/2015/20150726- Note about Given Up being censored is missing.

RTR vinyl is a double LP and features the CD tracklisting, but also includes a copy of the DVD: http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/8379 Fort Minor vinyl is a double LP (three sides, presumably the fourth side will have some kind of etching), but interestingly the making of Petrified/Petrified music video are tagged on at the end of the tracklisting, so I'd assume it either comes with a DVD or a digital bonus type thing: http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/8380

Hmm. Curious how RTR will sound, assuming they actually went to the trouble of doing a vinyl remaster. I believe this is the first live release on vinyl from LP?
-
Yes. Gas Station dates from 2000, this one's from 2003 and includes all of Joe's Meteora scratch samples.

Sampled. Prior to The Hunting Party, the last time Rob had ever used a double bass pedal was during the pre-Xero days, possibly with Relative Degree.

I actually remember seeing this when it was posted...figured it was known about but nobody cared because prior to Mike starting to tease us about Welcome, there were approximately 6 people left in the Linkin Park community who cared about anything Fort Minor-related.

Pretty sure he's the guy on the left in the photo of Xero with Jeff Blue. He's obviously a lot older now, but compare the facial expressions and such from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bBAGI4xwlg With the guy on the left in this photo: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/__jQsivzZqbU/Spz2ttbO4LI/AAAAAAAABzI/oj6PhLpVKQI/s400/xero.jpg In which case Mark Wakefield would have to be the guy in the back, wearing the hat. Wouldn't surprise me if Mike's bass work is on some demos. The tone of the bass on Blue in particular really stands out as unique. The verbiage Mike uses seems to indicate that he was in the band before Kyle or Scott.

The handwriting matches up perfectly with numerous other studio track boards we've seen over the years. Ethan's been in the studio with LP since the start of this album process, and he typically only works on one project at a time. The presence of the MPC and other DJ equipment is pretty much a dead giveaway too. No way this isn't LP-related.

You guys do realize that Chester's been using guitar as his primary songwriting instrument since before he joined Linkin Park, right? He wrote Morning After on acoustic guitar back in the Grey Daze era...considering the songs are very melody and lyric-centric at this point and the primary writers of melodies and lyrics are Mike and Chester, I'd be shocked to NOT see Chester with a guitar at this stage of the process.

Unless it randomly turns out that this song was mixed by Neal Avron, no. Songs can change titles or even be known by multiple titles at any point in the process (Leave Out All the Rest/"When My Time Comes") And for the 549th time (seemingly), there's a very good chance we already have all of the MTM b-sides: No Roads Left, Across the Line, What We Don't Know, Blackbirds, Ammosick. All confirmed as being mixed by Neal, and therefore all are b-sides. The only question is whether or not the 17-song total included Wake. If it did, we have them all, if it didn't, there's one more. Mike manages to contradict himself in the minute and a half this video lasts, lol. First he says it never made it out of "demo phase," then he said it "made it all the way to mixing and was cut at the very end." If it made it to mixing, it's not a demo anymore, Mike... Then again, this is the band that refers to any unreleased piece of music as a "demo" by default, so I'm not surprised.

"Mailing list" = People who recieve email updates from LP.com. Nothing even remotely intriguing.

I pretty much guarantee you're thinking of another televised show from around the same era. The "Live at the Fillmore" MTV special was nothing more than the video that's been going around for years. It was only half an hour long with commercials.

All Linkin Park related music videos list
Astat replied to SergSlim's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Actually, that may be the standard video I'm thinking of now that I think about it. I think they aired a shortened version on TV that cut out the interview stuff, but the one that's around 5:13 long with all the interviews is the "standard" one as far as I remember. It may be referring to David Ly's video, which won the MTV Overdrive contest for remaking the video. The timing of the blog post (in terms of the timeframe of the posts it falls between) falls in with the summer 2006 release of that version of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwtnqWRSudk -
All Linkin Park related music videos list

It was commissioned by WB Australia, no actual involvement from the band as far as I know. It was originally released on minutestomidnight.com.au (which was the official Australian website for the new album at the time). I seem to remember there being a bit of a viral marketing thing leading up to its release too. WB's Australian division has been kind of weird about some of LP's promotion stuff in the past. They blocked the release of the DSPs of the '07 Australia/New Zealand shows for years because they were convinced making them available would somehow harm album sales. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't think the original music video was marketable and decided to make their own. -

WYG video with extended interview portions with the people featured in the video. And here's the Australian WID video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWSw2h2R_0I -
Yeah, you're right. I always think 8BR is older than it is...

YOU WILL THE SHOW ROMENIA WITH THE SONG PICUREBOARD

Little Boxes was billed as being by Linkin Park in the show credits and on the Showtime/Weeds website where you could stream all the different versions of the song. I'm sure it was just Chester and Mike, but there are probably other LP songs where that's the case too lol.

When 8-Bit Rebellion! was announced, the press release mentioned that the developers (Artificial Life) and Linkin Park had signed a three-year contract and planned to release a series of games during that span. Obviously that didn't happen, presumably after 8BR was largely unsuccessful. I'd imagine given the timeline, the "video game that didn't happen" was a proposed follow-up game with the same company.

Warren Willis has DJ'd a couple times other than when he filled in for Joe. One was London 2014, same night Benjamin played on part of What I've Done (not sure if he was just on WID or maybe a couple other songs too, but Joe let him DJ and when Brad saw it, he decided to hand Benjamin his guitar too). There was another time that Joe let him DJ on Faint, but I can't find what show it was.

Nassau 2002 (Phoenix) Inglewood 2004 (Chester and Joe) Singapore 2004 (Janet, member of LP's touring crew) Fort Minor - Washington D.C. 2006 (Mike) Melbourne 2007 2nd night (Pooch) Seoul 2007 (Brad) Frankfurt 2008 (Rob) Hartford 2008 (Chris Cornell during his Crawling guest spot) Brisbane 2010 (Brad) Sunrise 2011 (Rob) I feel like there are a couple more, but that's all I can find right now.

At least comparing the recordings I have, the Ozzfest sampler version of Now I See is compressed as hell compared to the Studio Finals version, but they're identical recordings (Ozzfest version basically being a "mastered" version of the Studio Finals version, in other words). Plaster, no. The Studio Finals version is identical to the version on ECW Anarchy Rocks, but the 6-track version doesn't quite match that version, the album version, OR the David Kahne demo version. The "Just like before" pre-chorus is a different vocal take than on any of the other versions, and there's a hi-hat loop in the intro that really stands out as being unique to that version too. No scratching in the bridge on the 6-track version either (which it has in common with the "Rock Mix," but Rock Mix is identical to the album version other than the lack of scratching).
