  1. Damn, this is an amazing recording.
  2. Awesome, the recordings are finally coming in! Wonder what else we'll get
  3. lol, Mike's Solo Medley is 90 BPM during the W&K verse and 95 during the part he can change up... to put that in perspective: Remember The Name: 85 BPM SKIN TO BONE Remix: 90 BPM (I think) When They Come For Me: 92 BPM Hands Held High: 104 BPM High Voltage: 94 BPM I think someone just forgot his verse I'll vote for High Voltage, Spraypaint, Nobody's, TTG, and In Stereo.
  4. The only difference on A_V5 is the note for Wastelands: IAVA Shoutout
  5. Inspired by the idea that abrandnewname had, we'll be doing a weekly live compilation based off a certain criteria, like by albums or covers. By the end of the week, we'll decide which performances are the best (either by vote or by amount of times that specific performance has been listed) Here are the rules: Follow the guidelines: If we're doing Meteora Week, don't suggest songs like 'Pictureboard' or 'Rebellion'. Have some regard for quality: Any recording from any show we have a source for is welcome, though try not to list absolutely terrible quality recordings (i.e. Newtown 2004, Sao Paulo 2004 Cellphone Recording) No download links to official material: It's encouraged to list DSPs or Live DVD performances, but don't supply a link as to where you can get those. You can do so with other recordings, but make a request in the Live Downloads section, not here. You can suggest a single performance, multiple performances, or even an entire album of performances if you want. Just follow the guidelines! This week's compilation: Hybrid Theory!
  6. I'm well aware of that. We have 0 information about the Clarkston show and I wanted to both put a) something relevant to Clarkston (since Jon Davis came out onstage in Clarkston 04 too) and something where I could talk about a collaboration.
  7. The Carnivores Tour has one more stop in the month of August! Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI will be headed to Clarkston, Michigan to play a show at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. Linkin Park has performed in Clarkston before - twice in 2001 (1, 2), 2004, and 2007. At both 2001 shows, the band performed as part of the Ozzfest, where they played alongside Black Sabbath, Slipknot, and Papa Roach. In 2004, Ivan the Urban Action Figure came out to dance during 'It's Goin' Down', and Jonathan Davis came out to sing his part during the extended bridge of 'One Step Closer' which featured '1stp Klosr' from Reanimation. Most recently (but still quite some time ago) in 2007, Chester dedicated 'Leave Out All The Rest' to the U.S. soldiers who were at the show, which is similar to what the band does before 'Wastelands' for the IAVA, as a response to their new partnership. Will the band add something special to the history of their time in Clarkston at the Carnivores Tour performance? Yesterday, the band performed in Tinley Park, Illinois as part of 101WKQX's annual PIQNIQ event. On top of performing with the regular Carnivores Tour performers, they also performed alongside Local H, Wild Cub, Sleeper Agent, and Junior Prom. Other cool occurrences at the show include Mike rapping the first verse of 'When They Come For Me' over his medley, Mike rapping the verse from 'Points Of Authority' over the extended intro of 'Until It's Gone', and the band performing the new 2014 version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' and the studio version of 'Somewhere I Belong'. The band performed a standard run through of Set B, so Clarkston can expect to see Set A (or a phantom Set C? Let's see that #MakeaSetC love!). While the band's setlists have stayed relatively the same throughout the tour (with the exception of Mike's Solo Medley varying from show to show), the band has a bunch of songs that they've rehearsed for the tour that didn't make the cut! Some of those songs include 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself', and 'When They Come For Me', all of which are the top songs on our 2014 Live Poll, where you can vote for the songs that you want to see on the Carnivores Tour! If you're curious to see what other songs the band has rehearsed but not played throughout their career, check out this thread. Check out this video of 'One Step Closer' live from Tweeter Center at the Waterfront (now the Susquehanna Bank Center) in Camden in 2004, where Jonathan Davis came out to sing during the extended bridge. We haven't seen any collaborations occur onstage during the Carnivores Tours yet... Funny enough, exactly two years ago in Colorado, on the Honda Civic Tour, Mike Einziger of Incubus came out for the first time on tour to jam with the band during 'Bleed It Out'. Do you think we'll see any collaborations happen? AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars are continuing to do an outstanding on on the tour! In Tinley Park, AFI performed their standard set, consisting of hits like 'I Hope You Suffer' and 'Miss Murder', as well as older songs including 'The Days Of The Phoenix' and 'Medicate'. AFI's set has stayed consistent throughout the tour, barring the first two shows back in Florida. At those shows, they performed two songs that were dropped from all following setlists: 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves'. Will we see those two songs, or possibly any others return on the tour? Thirty Seconds To Mars also performed their usual set, opening with a song that many old-school fans will remember, Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new single, 'Up In The Air'. Their set also includes singles like 'This Is War' and 'Do Or Die', as well as some non-single songs like 'Search and Destroy' and 'End Of All Days'. During Jared's acoustic set, he took a few requests, as well as played the band's biggest single, 'The Kill (Bury Me)'. You can expect huge production from their set, including a ton of confetti and giant balloons flying everywhere. If you're located farther back in the venue and afraid you won't get a good view of the show, Jared Leto's got your back. During 'Kings and Queens', he'll journey all the way out to the back sections of the venue to sing and say hello! If you're in the pit, go crazy, because if Jared notices you, he'll bring you onstage for the last song, 'Closer To The Edge'! The other bands that performed as part of the 101QKWX PIQNIQ also did a great job: Local H performed an energetic set, featuring songs like 'High-Fiving MF' and 'Bound For The Floor'. Wild Cub also got the crowd moving by playing songs like 'Thunder Clatter' and 'Colour'. Sleeper Agent also got the crowds moving with songs like 'Get It Daddy' and 'By My Monster'. Junior Prom introduced the energy to the show by performing their song 'Sheila Put The Knife Down' and a few others. Do you live somewhere that's not North America, or didn't get a chance to catch a show, but really want to experience the Carnivores Tour? You're in luck! Jared Leto's online ticketing service, VyRT, will be streaming Linkin Park's and Thirty Seconds To Mars' sets at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15. VyRT delivers an amazing quality performance, and lets the bands interact with the fans online directly from the stage! You can buy a ticket to view both sets for as low as $15. Buy your ticket soon, as Jared has been periodically popping up on VyRT, and performing short acoustic sets. In fact, he did one from backstage at the venue in Tinley Park! They were also planning to take the fans in the VyRT Chat onstage with them by streaming it, but the internet at the venue was very weak. This only means that they will likely try again, though! An admin of the site, Yasir, also said that there will be some exclusive VyRT Violets (lo-fi streams on VyRT) for those who have purchased a ticket. So if you're interested in seeing what goes on backstage at the venues, or are a fan of Thirty Seconds To Mars in general and would like to see a few acoustic songs from time to time, definitely check it out! You never know who could show up - maybe Mike or Chester could make a cameo! Who will be heading to the show? Stop by the Music For Relief booth to donate to the cause of stopping the ebola outbreak in Africa, which isn't just affecting humans anymore. A very worthy cause. After this show, the Carnivores Tour will be on a week's break until the 5th. Linkin Park and AFI will both be taking advantage of the break, while Thirty Seconds To Mars has a show to play in Costa Rica. Who knows what will happen during the break - members of each band could spend some time with their families, plan some more surprises for the rest of the tour (Remember, #MakeaSetC!), or even accompany MARS to Costa Rica for some beautiful beaches and a great show! It would definitely be a good opportunity to try out a collaboration or two during MARS's set. For updates on the show, check back here on the site or follow us on Twitter! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2014 touring schedule here.
  8. You're digging yourself a very, very deep ditch here, sir...
  9. Don't fail us, Nick. I didn't put you in the pre-show post for nothing
  10. lmao, yeah. I was thinking to myself, You don't say?
  11. The next Linkin Log is out! Quite hilarious, if you ask me.
  12. The Carnivores Tour is making its next stop in Tinley Park, Illinois, for 101WKQX's annual PIQNIQ event. Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI will be performing on the main stage at the event, as well as performing with a few other bands! Linkin Park is no stranger to Tinley Park, as they've played there plenty of times before: twice in 2001 (1, 2), 2004, 2007, and 2012. The first show in 2001 saw them playing another festival: Q101's Jamboree, at which they played with the likes of Papa Roach, Staind, and Disturbed. The second show of 2001 was the opening show of the famous Ozzfest, at which they opened with 'A Place For My Head' for the only time on the tour! We'll talk more about 'A Place For My Head' later, though. In 2004, they visited the city for Projekt Revolution, with artists such as Korn, Snoop Dogg (now Snoop Lion), and The Used. In 2007, the band made the second-to-last stop on the 2007 Projekt Revolution there. Notable events at the show include Chester bringing his son, Tyler, out on stage before 'Somewhere I Belong' and Chester remarking that the crowd was the best they've had on that tour during the encore break. Will the crowd at the Carnivores Tour stop will live up to the 2007 crowd? Time will tell! At their most recent stop there in 2012, the band a modified version of Set B (which coincidentally opened with 'A Place For My Head', just like in 2001), changing up the order of 'With You', 'Victimized (w/ QWERTY)', 'Somewhere I Belong', 'Empty Spaces', and 'When They Come For Me'. The band may have had a briefer history here than some of the other stops on the tour, there's definitely a strong one, which has a lot of 'A Place For My Head' in it. Speaking of the song... 'A Place For My Head' has still not appeared on the Carnivores Tour, despite being rehearsed for the tour and the very clear demand for the song, as evidenced by our 2014 Live Poll. If you're interested in anything the band has prepared for the Carnivores Tour that hasn't made the cut, check out this thread. If you want to see what songs the band rehearsed but didn't play throughout their career, there's a thread for that, too. At the previous show in Winnipeg, the band performed a standard run-through of Set A, which features 'Points Of Authority' and 'Crawling'. Mike rapped the first verse of 'When They Come For Me' over his solo medley, which is the first time he's done so since Holmdel, NJ. Mike has been playing it relatively safe when it comes to his medley, mostly performing a 'hybrid' verse of the Fort Minor song 'Remember The Name' throughout the tour. He's also performed his verse from the 'Skin To Bone' Nick Catchdubs remix from RECHARGED and the first verse of 'When They Come For Me' on certain occasions. There's still a lot of opportunity for his medley. In the past, he rapped a verse of 'Hands Held High' but hasn't done so since Greenfield 2014. What songs would you like to see Mike rap over his medley? We think Fort Minor's 'Spraypaint & Inkpens' would work well, as well as older Linkin Park tracks like 'Forgotten' and 'High Voltage'. What about you? Check out this performance of Mike's Solo Medley and the new 2014 Version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' at Falcon Heights, Minnesota at the Minnesota State Fair a few days ago. There's a few interesting moments in this video, including the false start of Mike's medley and his shoutout to Astat when 'Remember The Name' kicked in! Congrats again, sir! The other bands on the Carnivores Tour are still doing very well live! AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars both played very energetic sets at Winnipeg. AFI played their standard setlist, which features 'I Hope You Suffer' and 'Miss Murder', as well as older songs like 'The Days Of The Phoenix' and 'Medicate'. At the beginning of the tour, the band performed two songs they subsequently dropped from all future setlists: 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves'. Will we see these songs return sometime on the tour? Maybe one of them will return in Illinois! Thirty Seconds To Mars also performed a fairly standard setlist, which opens with an old-school MARS opening of Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new single, 'Up In The Air'. The setlist features singles like 'Do Or Die' and 'City Of Angels', as well as some deeper album cuts like 'Conquistador' and 'End Of All Days'. You can expect a lot of epic moment from MARS's set, if you're skeptical about their live performance, including giant balloons flying everywhere during the last chorus of 'This Is War', Jared Leto running out to the outer sections of the venue during 'Kings and Queens', and a whole load of confetti! Unlike past Carnivores Tour performances, there will be a bunch of other bands performing too, since this is a radio station hosted event. The other bands include Junior Prom, Sleeper Agent, and Wild Cub, who will be performing on the St. Xavier University Side Stage, and Local H, who will be performing alongside the Carnivores Tour artists on the main stage, before AFI. These bands are relatively unknown, so here's a brief description of them. Check out the entire lineup here. Junior Prom is an indie/electronic duo hailing from New York City. Their music has many elements of electronica, a little soul, and a little funk. Check out their single, . You can compare them to Panic! At The Disco and Capital Cities. Sleeper Agent formed in 2009 in Kentucky. The name may sound familiar to some, as it's a reference to the sci-fi franchise, Battlestar Galactica. They are an indie rock outfit who have a sound similar to that of Imagine Dragons. They have catchy, upbeat guitar riffs as well infectious melodies. Check out their song, . Wild Cub is an electronica/synthpop group who are known for their track, . For a reference point, look to an artist like CHVRCHES for similarities. They have some catchy tracks that are punctuated by cheerful guitar riffs and accompanied by synths. If you're looking for something closer to the sound of the Carnivores Tour bands, Local H is who you should check out. They're an Alternative Rock who've been in the game longer than Linkin Park (est. 1987!), but have still kept their ground throughout the years. Their music can be compared to Nirvana and early Foo Fighters. Some may remember their 1996 hit, . Lastly, if you live in an area that the Carnivores Tour is not stopping at, or don't live in the United States or Canada in the first place, but really want to experience a show on the tour, you're in luck! Linkin Park's and Thirty Seconds to Mars' sets at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15 will be streamed via Jared Leto's online ticketing service, VyRT. Sign up and buy your ticket today for the price of $15, as in a chat with Jared earlier this week, he said that if they sold 500 tickets by Friday, Mike and Chester will make an appearance at the VyRT Chat! Today's the last day! The beauty of it is that they could join the chat from anywhere they are in the world, so they could be on at any point in the day. We'll keep you updated if they do show up! Now that you've discovered some new music, are you excited for the show? A bunch of great bands, and, as an added bonus, there will most likely be a bunch of good food (it is a picnic, after all). Who'll be heading to the show? We can expect Set B to be performed, since the band is following a certain pattern (ABAB) as far as rotating their setlists go. LPLive members CASTLEOFSASS and dereklp will be there! Post in this thread to schedule a possible meet up with your LPL friends! Stop by the Music For Relief to donate to the cause of putting an end to the ebola outbreak currently taking place in Africa. After this show, the band plays one final show in Clarkston, Michigan before taking a week's break at the beginning of September. We'll keep you updated on the show both here and on our Twitter! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2014 touring schedule here.
  13. Great post, I actually agree with a lot of it (even though I'm 14 ). To be fair I've played for 4 years now so I'm above the level of "I CAN TREMOLO PICK LOOK AT ME!" To be fair, I feel that the Faint solo until about 2009 was at least somewhat more 'advanced' but since then it's really gone down hill. AFN and FM's solos sound like the only ones that actually contribute to the overall context of the song. I'd even say MTG's could apply to that. The rest of them sound over the place, KTTK, GATS, even War could still have been interesting without their solos (though I guess War kinda packs everything that genre has into it). They could definitely be more thought out, or even played with regards of key and rhythm.
  14. The thing is, let's face it, right now, Thirty Seconds To Mars is more relevant than Incubus. Don't get me wrong, I love Incubus, but do they really have anything going for them right now? MARS has an Oscar-winner for a lead singer and has a huge single out right now. Don't forget MARS is independent now, so they have to do manage all the marketing/promotion/touring costs themselves, while still apparently a million dollars in debt. Money's going to have to add up $15 dollars is nothing compared to what they could really charge for this. Also, as ctgerrard said, as much as I wouldn't like this to get recorded/leaked, it probably will. The only thing is you can share it as you want but there's no telling how long it'll take before it gets taken down. They're really quick on that. So, instead of complaining about something that's beneficial to us as a fan community and beneficial to a new platform that can easily do the same kind of thing at another time, let's have positive thoughts.
  15. They re-released the 2012 VyRTs but your point is valid nonetheless.
  16. What makes this a joke lol? Some people need an incentive to do something, and it's pretty much only been MARS-related. This is something that will cater towards LP fans now.
  17. Awesome news! Guitar Center is probably one of my favorite places ever, awesome to see the band doing something in association with them.
  18. We're at the halfway point of the Carnivores Tour! The 13th stop on the tour will take Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI back for one last show in Canada (or, as I've affectionately referred to it as, the land of maple syrup) at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This will be Linkin Park's first time playing in Winnipeg, therefore there's no history lesson to give today! You can put your pens and pencils down for today On the 26th, Linkin Park performed a regular run through of Set B in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, with a few interesting notes. As far as the performance went, everything was as it usually was, though Mike's Solo Medley had a false start. Another awesome piece of information is that when 'Remember The Name' kicked in, Mike shouted out our Linkin Park Guru, Astat, who was wearing his Fort Minor shirt at the show! Congrats Astat! Joe's and Rob's "cages" that would move up and down during their respective solos were not used at the show, due to the production of the show being scaled down to fit with the standards of the event. To wrap it all up, a fireworks display occurred after Linkin Park's set. This is the first time pyro has been used at the Linkin Park event since 2012, in Johannesburg. The last time fireworks were used at a Linkin Park show was in Moscow in 2012. Other cool facts about the show include Mike rapping a 'hybrid' verse of 'Remember The Name' over his medley, Mike rapping 'Points Of Authority' over the intro of 'Until It's Gone', and the band performed the new 2014 Version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You'. Check out more information from the show in Falcon Heights at it's show page! Check out this performance of 'Somewhere I Belong' a few days ago at the Carnivores Tour stop at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts! We're glad it's back in the setlists, but coincidentally was the least voted for song in our 2014 Live Poll. The most voted for songs were 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself', 'No More Sorrow', and 'When They Come For Me', all of which have been rehearsed for the Carnivores Tour, but didn't make the cut for the final setlists. 'A Place For My Head' appeared in a version of Set A early in the day at Darien Center, but was dropped before the show. What songs would you like to see on the Carnivores Tour? You may be wondering how Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI are doing on the tour. Well, they're doing amazing! AFI's set consisted of their singles like 'I Hope You Suffer', 'The Leaving Song Pt. II', and 'Miss Murder', as well as some deeper album cuts like 'Medicate' and 'Silver and Cold'. AFI has been playing the same setlist for awhile now, but at the beginning of the tour, there were some changes. At the two Florida shows, the band performed 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves', which they have been reluctant to play for the rest of the tour. Maybe they'll bring back those songs, or quite possibly some others on the tour! Thirty Seconds To Mars played a very energetic set, opening up with an old-school throwback: Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new hit single, 'Up In The Air'. They performed their other big singles such as 'Do Or Die' and 'This Is War', as well as some other songs like 'End Of All Days' and 'Conquistador' from their latest album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams. During the acoustic set Jared Leto went out into the crowd to perform some songs by request, including the band's biggest hit, 'The Kill'. Lastly, during their encore song, 'Closer To The Edge', Jared brought up fans from the crowd, including LPLive Member, BIBBLE! Congrats, sir! Who's excited to see AFI and MARS on the Carnivores Tour? Speaking of seeing the Carnivores Tour, if you've been unable to see any performance on the tour but really want to, you're in luck! Thirty Seconds To Mars' and Linkin Park's sets from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15, 2014 will be streamed via Jared Leto's online ticketing company, VyRT. You can purchase a ticket here for as low as $15! If you're interested in just listening to a few recordings of Linkin Park, you're in luck, as audience recordings from various shows have started popping up! You can download a FLAC recording of the band's set in Darien Center, or a MP3 recording of their set in Bristow, recorded by LPLive member abrandnewname! Lots of awesome things going on this week for LPLive members, that's three in one thread! Maybe YOU'LL be next! Who's heading to the show? Be sure to stop by the Music For Relief booth to donate to help the efforts going forward to defeat the ebola epidemic currently occurring in Africa. A very noble cause. After this show, the band has a one day break before heading to Tinley Park, Illinois and Clarkston, Michigan before a week long break. A very well deserved break, if you ask me! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2014 touring schedule here.
  19. You want mainly proshots or both proshots and aud recordings?
  20. Don't goddamn remind me that school starts next week >_> I'm still doing the pre-show posts haha, Mark was just itching to do one
  21. I get a break for the day haha. Yay I'm glad to help! This is probably one of the best communities out there, I'm glad to be such a big part of it now
