  1. his video: goddamn this is the best one yet
  2. Amidst all the rumors and rumblings of South American tour dates and new singles ('Heavy Is The Crown' received its live debut an hour ago in Hamburg, so it looks like one rumor definitely came true so far!), another interesting one has just popped up, and this time its for another European date! Reddit user Ashishinn has shared a news article from French guitar magazine Guitare Xtreme Mag, which states that Linkin Park will be performing in Paris, France at the Paris La Défense Arena on November 3. Another comment in the Reddit thread raises that since the Worlds 2024 opening ceremony takes place the day before on November 2 in London, England, it is possible that Linkin Park performs 'Heavy Is The Crown' at that event and places a few more shows in Europe. UPDATE: September 23, 2024 Earlier today, Ticketmaster.fr had a listing for a Linkin Park show at the Paris La Défense Arena on November 3, but has since been taken down. Take these rumors with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed until we hear it from the band themselves. Stay caught up with us on social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook) for the latest when Linkin Park makes an announcement! If you've heard anything yourself or found anything online about more rumors for 2024/2025, make sure you're signed up to the forums and let us know below. 'tis the season for rumors and leaks!
  3. https://linkinpedia.com/wiki/Live:20240922 Heavy Is The Crown live debut instead of Keys To The Kingdom, APFMH over BIO, Lost In The Echo in rotation slot (Set A)
  4. Europe, your time has come! After absolutely destroying half of the LPLive team in a cross-coast USA run to start things off, Linkin Park plays their third show of the From Zero World Tour and first European show of the leg in Hamburg, Germany tonight on September 22, 2024 at the Barclays Arena. This will be the band's eighth show in the city and eleventh overall performance there! Linkin Park made their debut as the Brooklyn boys in their last show on September 16 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center (back-to-back Barclays venues is kind of crazy, by the way), and man did the crowd and band both pack a punch. The band debuted Set C in New York after performing Set A at the first show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California on September 11. Largely, the setlists are the same, but with some switches that definitely caught us off-guard in the crowd! The biggest difference is a confirmed rotation slot in the setlist, the band unleashing the legendary 'A Place For My Head' upon the crowd in Brooklyn for the first time on the tour, and I can personally attest that that song singlehandedly set the entire place off into moshpits for the rest of the show. I have genuinely never seen such a constant mosh in my life -- it was incredible. Emily Armstrong, Colin Brittain, and Tour-Brad Alex Feder nailed the song, playing it for the first time with the right amount of vigor that really got the whole place going. The song was performed instead of 'Lost In The Echo,' which was performed for the first time in its entirety since January 2014 in Los Angeles. The other difference in the setlist were the interludes - namely the 'Inception Intro,' 'Creation Intro,' and 'Resolution Intro.' While the previous uses of the tracks featured affected vocals from 'Castle Of Glass,' in this set, lyrics from 'Burn It Down' were played instead. It seems that the band has a different set of these interludes for each version of the set! Other than that, the rest of the setlist largely stayed the same, with 'Somewhere I Belong' and 'Crawling' opening the show, as well as deep cuts like 'My December,' 'Friendly Fire,' and 'Keys To The Kingdom' getting some more time in the spotlight. 'Bleed It Out' closed the show, with Mike rapping the first verse of 'There They Go' by Fort Minor over the bridge. Emily continued to get more comfortable with performing on their massive stage with a massive crowd, unleashing some truly deadly screams ('A Place For My Head' and the ending of 'Faint' were absolutely unreal), while Colin continued to test his chops with some additional fills on songs like 'Papercut' and 'Points Of Authority.' The revelations of rotating sets leaves us one huge question: what does Set B hold in store for us? If they play it in Hamburg, keen fans will know right from the start as the intro will likely feature a different song than 'Castle Of Glass' or 'Burn It Down.' As far as the song lyrics used for intros and interludes go, they've both been from songs from LIVING THINGS, so perhaps Set B will also feature a track from the album as its anchor. 'Lost In The Echo' is the other single from the record, but there's also 'Roads Untraveled' (which was used as an intro in 2017) and maybe even 'Powerless,' which would be quite a surprise. Or, they could break the trend and pick another song from throughout the discography. If you're at the Hamburg show, make sure to report back to us what you hear! The rotation slot is the next big mystery on the table. With big hitters like 'Lost In The Echo' and 'A Place For My Head' out, what could the third rotation song be? Anything in the discography is realistically possible. Any previous setlist staple that hasn't been brought out yet is possible: could we see the revival of 'No More Sorrow,' 'Figure.09,' or 'QWERTY' in Set B? Or perhaps a more tame (yet still filthy) track, with the likes of 'From The Inside' and 'Talking To Myself' still absent from the setlists. Only time will tell! The band could pull a fast one on us too by not performing Set B right off the bat in Hamburg, as well... perhaps the new rotation could be a new song, with heavy rumors that a new single called 'Heavy Is The Crown' is dropping on Monday, September 24 - the same day as the band's show in London. What do you think is going to be the next song to get its tour debut? Perhaps the singular most LPLive piece of content the world has ever seen: our live reaction to 'A Place For My Head' getting its tour debut in Brooklyn, New York on September 16, 2024 at the Barclays Center! Before we even get into Linkin Park's history in Hamburg, we have to take a moment to talk about what they're doing right now. For the past couple of days leading up to the show, Hamburg has become Linkin Park City. Linkin Park has been holding events throughout Hamburg throughout the last few days, including scavenger hunts for tickets with miniature models (as mentioned before), a drone light show taking over the skies of Hamburg, and a big fan event at Thai Oase including exclusive prizes and free drinks! Additionally, street performers have been playing the band's songs and more promo has been put up around the city. The band are certainly celebrating their return to Germany and Europe in style! This is all no surprise, however, given that Germany is essentially Linkin Park's second home. With a whopping 66 total performances (including TV appearances, promo appearances, as otherwise), Germany is the band's second most-performed in country besides the USA, many of those being legendary Rock am Ring and Rock im Park performances. The band's last appearances in Hamburg itself, however, were during the brief One More Light Promotional Tour, with a streamed performance at the Warner Music Group Germany headquarters and an appearance at the Mercedes-me Store. Both were just Mike and Chester performing piano versions of songs such as 'Heavy,' 'Battle Symphony,' and 'What I've Done.' Their last proper show in the city, however, was in the middle of The Hunting Party World Tour in November 2014. The fourth of nine German shows on that tour (might as well have been called The Hunting Party German Tour), the band delivered heavy tracks from the album including 'Guilty All The Same,' 'Rebellion,' 'Final Masquerade,' and 'Until It's Gone.' The band had to restart 'In The End' because Mike and Joe were confused about which song was coming next! Hamburg was a big stop on the A Thousand Suns World Tour, being visited on both years of the tour. The first was in October 2010 on the first European leg of the tour, with tracks like 'Wretches and Kings,' 'When They Come For Me,' and 'The Catalyst' being freshly dusted off. 'Lying From You' and 'Leave Out All The Rest' were both performed as rotations in the set, in response to comments on LPLive at the time about the lack of variety in the sets (we're definitely not complaining about anything now!). The band returned next summer in June 2011, hosting the fourth LPU Summit earlier in the day. Fans who attended were treated to a special acoustic performance of 'The Messenger' and the live debut of the band's cover of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep,' which would be performed a few shows later at the iTunes Festival in piano version form. With the legendary Adam Ruehmer back with the band with Lorenzo Errico and Ana Ginter also on deck, the return of the LPU Summit would definitely be welcomed. Mike and Chester performing an acoustic version of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' at the 4th LPU Summit in Hamburg, Germany on June 21, 2011 at the O2 World. The band visited Hamburg early on in the Minutes To Midnight World Tour, on the very first full leg of the tour in May 2007, just weeks after the album came out. This setlist featured all the iconic early Minutes To Midnight staples, including a 'One Step Closer' opener, 'Faint' closer with its then-brand new outro, and new tracks like 'No More Sorrow,' 'Given Up,' and 'The Little Things Give You Away.' Once again early in the cycle, the band visited Hamburg fresh off the heels of Meteora on the LP Underground Tour in February 2003. With the album not even out yet, everyone who attended heard brand new songs off of Meteora for the very first time, including 'Don't Stay,' 'Session,' and rare performances of 'Easier To Run' and 'Hit The Floor.' Chester accidentally started singing the second verse of 'Rnw@y' from Reanimation during 'Runaway' at this show before catching himself. Not so fun fact: this show was actually a reschedule from 2001, after the band cancelled the start of their September European Tour due to the September 11 attacks. On the Hybrid Theory World Tour, Linkin Park performed in Hamburg twice within two months: in March 2001, opening for Deftones' 'Back To School' Tour and previously in January 2001, for their first show ever in Germany and second show ever in Europe. 'Cure For The Itch' was brought back as show opener for this one after being dropped in the latter part of 2000, albeit as an abbreviated version. Being that Hamburg was the site of Linkin Park's very first show in Germany (and almost first show in Europe), it only feels right that their first show back in 7 years on the continent is held there. What will be the next chapter in Linkin Park's Hamburg history? grandson will continue to open for these next few dates in Europe, and he certainly set the tone for the night for those who saw him in the United States. Opening with a shortened version of 'Running From My Shadow' from Mike's Post Traumatic album (a song that was made during his coming-up period), grandson celebrates his relationship with Mike and Linkin Park throughout the show, asking fans, "are you ready to be a part of music history tonight... Are you ready for the return for the greatest show in music, Linkin Park?!" grandson drills through some of his harder songs like '6:00' and Shinoda-produced 'Riptide,' before taking a moment to think about the people that couldn't be here with us in this new chapter of Linkin Park, including Chester, on the slower song 'Heather.' He picks it up again for the last half of his set, ending off on an explosive 'Blood // Water.' If you can make it early to see his set, make sure you do, as it is the perfect precursor to a big night in music history! grandson performing his song 'Heather' in dedication to everyone that couldn't be with us in this new chapter of Linkin Park at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on September 16, 2024. Who's going to the show?! Weatherman Rogue Soul is looking at mostly sunny skies today in the city (I swear great weather seems to be following this band around... balance is being restored) and generally warm temperatures all around, so enjoy your time in the city if you'll be visiting for the show! An official merchandise booth will be open outside the venue starting at 1pm. After this show, the band has another lined up in Europe in London, England on Tuesday before heading off to Seoul, South Korea to wrap things up before presumably taking some rest before some heavy promo for their new album in November and a tour date in Colombia. Things are still cooking in the Linkin Park news oven lately, with a new single possibly on the horizon in 'Heavy Is The Crown,' which is rumored to be the League Of Legends' Worlds 2024 anthem and could be released on September 24, 2024 (Monday!). If you need some more new music to tide you over until then, FEVER 333's new EP features a song called 'NOSEBLEEDS,' featuring Jason Aalon, Mike Shinoda, and Colin Brittain as producers. Rumors are heating up about new tour dates as well, with the possibility of new shows this year in South America, including Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. We'll have updates for you on today's show, and will be bringing it to live here and on social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook), so be sure to follow us and sign up on the forums! Linkin Park's new album From Zero is coming on November 15, 2024.
  5. updated the main post with more information. Rich Costey on the mix actually excites me a bit as a big Muse fan!
  6. A lot of rumors have been popping up these past few days about more potential shows in South America this year, perhaps after the massive response to their sole date in the continent in Colombia in November. Here's a quick roundup of everything so far: UPDATE: September 23: Linkin Park have shared a "COME TO BRAZIL" social media video, seemingly confirming that they will be coming back to Brazil or be announcing shows very soon. September 21: While exploring Linkin Park City (otherwise known as Hamburg, Germany), Mike and Phoenix visited Miniatur Wonderland, partnering with them to hide small models of Shinoda spray painting the From Zero cover on a wall throughout the city along with pairs of tickets for whoever found them first. While there, however, Mike shared a picture of a miniature Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the iconic Christ The Redeemer statue hanging over the recreated city. Additionally, Live Nation Brasil began teasing something today. While no clear artist can be attached to it, many are speculating it may have to do with Linkin Park. September 20: Multiple South American festival leakers began teasing that Linkin Park may announce new shows for 2024 in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. With how much demand there is for the band in South America and the previously legendary shows they have played down there, it seems to us that it's a no brainer to hit South America as soon as possible. With plenty of time in October and perhaps the first half of November leading up to the release of From Zero on November 15 (its likely the band will have a lot of promo around then - including performances!), the possibility of dates this year does seem high. The band has said they are planing to tour heavily in 2025, so it's likely South America is already penned in for somewhere next year, but maybe they double it up this time around! If these rumors turn out to be true, this will be Linkin Park's first South American Tour since the very start of the One More Light World Tour in 2017, where they played shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina and São Paulo, Brazil for the Maximus Festival alongside headline dates in Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru - the latter of which marked their first show ever in the country! As always, stay caught up with us on social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook) for the latest updates on Linkin Park's upcoming ventures, and sign up on the forums and share your thoughts with the community (we don't bite)!
  7. we got APFMH i could throw up from how filthy that was
  8. What a wild ride it has been for the LP community and LPLive team this past week! We've had a few days to take it all in, but it's time to get things moving once again as the From Zero World Tour continues. Linkin Park performs their second stop of the tour tomorrow, September 16, 2024 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. Back in my home turf! Linkin Park kicked off their tour in a way so immense, Los Angeles, California had an earthquake next morning (actually). Descending upon the Kia Forum on September 11, Linkin Park debuted their brand new production and full setlist to 17.5k fans at their sold-out return show. On top of that, Emily Armstrong, Colin Brittain, and Alex Feder delivered an incredible first full show with the band, showcasing all their new energies within the music. While their livestream event on September 5 gave us a taste of what was to come, no one could've been prepared for what they unleashed upon us. Kicking off the night with the 'Inception Intro A' mashup, the band dove right into 'Somewhere I Belong,' making it the first time the song has ever opened a show. Continuing with 'Crawling,' the band then moved onto some deeper cuts, namely 'Lying From You' (which was performed at the livestream event) and 'Points Of Authority,' featuring Mike singing the verses for the first time. Many songs were performed with the new lineup for the first time, including 'Burn It Down,' 'Breaking The Habit,' and 'Castle Of Glass,' the latter of which was performed for the first time as its studio version since Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August 2013 (not counting 2017's Chester Bennington Memorial Show). A full recording of Linkin Park's show in Los Angeles, California at the Kia Forum on September 11, 2024. Speaking of first time's, Linkin Park's Los Angeles setlist was full of major surprises for us live enthusiasts. Within their 27-song, two-hour long setlist (which clocks in at Linkin Park's longest tour show to date) were two live debuts: One More Light-era demo 'Friendly Fire' was performed for the first time ever after being released as a single from this year's Papercuts collection (and was also the only track from that album-era featured in the set), as well as The Hunting Party's 'Keys To The Kingdom,' complete with a stunning performance from Emily and a chant for #JusticeForTheHuntingParty, which didn't have a track featured on the Papercuts album. And while not quite being performed for the first time, many songs were brought back out of the band's backpocket, some of which we never thought we'd hear again! 'My December' was performed with a full-band arrangement (Colin played acoustic guitar and Alex moved offstage), being performed for the first time since the Minutes To Midnight Tour stop in Sacramento, CA in March 2008. After being dropped on the One More Light Tour, 'Given Up' was performed for the first time since Blizzcon 2015, raw with no outro (for the first time since KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2007) and Emily doing the bridge some true justice. The full version of 'Lost In The Echo' was performed for the first time since January 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a different key to accommodate Emily's vocal register. New solo medleys by Joe and Mike debuted, Joe's featuring Colin jamming on drums and Mike's featuring him on guitar for a mashup of 'When They Come For Me' and 'Remember The Name' by Fort Minor. Mike brought some more Fort Minor out later for the extended bridge of their final song 'Bleed It Out,' rapping a verse of 'There They Go' over it. 'New Divide' returned, featuring its fan-favorite 'Moscow Intro' for the third time ever and the first time since Singapore 2011, the final show of the A Thousand Suns World Tour. Other big moments for fans include the 2017 version of 'Leave Out All The Rest,' a new transition called the 'Creation Intro A,' and an epic performance -- now with the whole crowd singing along -- of 'The Emptiness Machine.' Our view of the live debut of 'Keys To The Kingdom' live from the pit at the Kia Forum. Mark and I will both be in the pit once again at Barclays - who's coming to jam with us? You can check out my other videos from the pit in this playlist. Linkin Park have never performed in Brooklyn or the Barclays Center before, but are no strangers to New York City. This won't be the first time everyone's been there, however. Mike Shinoda's Post Traumatic Tour brought him to the Barclays Center in December 2018 for ALT 92.3's Not So Silent Night, also featuring CHVRCHES, Death Cab For Cutie, Florence + The Machine, and Muse. While short, the set featured the essentials of a Mike Shinoda set: singles like 'Make It Up As I Go' and the 'Over Again,' 'About You,' and 'Papercut' medley set the crowd alight. Fun fact - that show was the last time I had seen Mark until the Kia Forum show! Linkin Park's last proper show in the New York City area also happens to be the first concert I ever went to: the esteemed Madison Square Garden show in February 2011, on the A Thousand Suns Tour. My naive 11-year old brain had no idea what it was seeing: immense performances of 'No More Sorrow,' 'When They Come For Me,' and 'From The Inside,' as well as A Thousand Suns rarities like a full 'Iridescent' and 'Blackout.' This show paired with a Saturday Night Live appearance, featuring 'Waiting For The End' and 'When They Come For Me,' the latter of which was broadcast in black and white - the first time in the show's history that was done. The band visited the city earlier that cycle for the album release show at the Best Buy Theater in October 2010, which featured the live debuts of the interludes and 'Wretches and Kings,' as well as being the first show to ever open with 'New Divide' and close with 'What I've Done.' The Minutes To Midnight Tour saw a healthy amount of shows in the ew York City era, that last of which being Madison Square Garden in February 2008, a legendary show featuring rare tracks like 'In Pieces' and 'In Between,' as well as an incredibly rare Jay-Z appearance, where he joined them for performances of 'Jigga What/Faint' and 'Numb/Encore.' Earlier that same day, the band played a private show at an Apple Store in SoHo, which was recorded and released on iTunes. Earlier on in the cycle, the band celebrated the release of Minutes To Midnight in New York's Webster Hall and rehearsed for next night's Saturday Night Live performance by debuted 'Bleed It Out,' a song that would go on to become a legendary staple in Linkin Park's sets. The band apparently likes to celebrate their album releases in New York... I'll be on the lookout in November. Also on the band's agenda whenever they're in New York are promo appearances. Their last overall appearances in New York City were in May 2017 in the lead-up to One More Light, including their only proper acoustic show ever in the New York subway at Grand Central Station for Good Morning America and a private performance at Spotify HQ, featuring the title track 'One More Light.' Jumping all the way back to the Meteora era, the band played a couple of smaller shows in 2003 in the buildup to the major world tour in 2004. They performed at the beautiful Hammerstein Ballroom in December 2003 for K-Rock's Claus-Fest, treating fans to highlights like 'Don't Stay' and 'It's Goin' Down.' The band kicked off the era with the LP Underground Tour in March 2003, stopping in New York and hitting upon songs like 'Hit The Floor' and 'Easier To Run' for the first time. Blindside's Christian Lindskog joined the band for their last song, 'One Step Closer' Finally, the band's main appearances in New York City on the Hybrid Theory cycle were early on, once on the Street Soldiers Tour in February 2001, (with a set featuring Hybrid Theory EP rarities like 'And One' and 'High Voltage'), another in November 2000 opening for P.O.D.'s Kings Of The Game Tour, and their very first show in the city in September 2000 on Kottonmouth Kings' Ridin' High Tour, all of which featured truly raw and fresh performances of all the Hybrid Theory favorites like 'A Place For My Head' and 'Forgotten.' What will be the next chapter in Linkin Park's history in New York? A recording of one of Linkin Park's first shows in New York City during the Hybrid Theory cycle at the Roseland Ballroom in February 2001. With history being made, we can only ask what else Linkin Park has in store for us. As someone who went to the first show, I would be more than happy to see the exact same setlist again, but that can't stop us from speculating! After all, the physical setlist calls it "Set A," the interludes are all called "Transition A," and Linkin Park likes to play with our emotions. With all that in mind, what can we hope to see at this show, if not for more of the same? Emily did claim she had to learn upwards of 50 songs while in rehearsals for this tour, which have lasted months. There are some slots set up for possible rotations: a couple different heavy songs could be switched out earlier on, perhaps 'No More Sorrow' or a full 'A Place For My Head' would be awesome. Or after heaving its moment of glory earlier this year, perhaps 'QWERTY' deserves a spot in the setlist again. The set notably misses One More Light songs besides the b-side 'Friendly Fire' - perhaps due to the heavy emotional nature of the album. But fans would definitely love to hear tracks like 'Heavy,' 'Nobody Can Save Me,' or 'Talking To Myself' if they were to draw from the record. Perhaps #JusticeForTheHuntingParty will continue with another song from the album - they could play it safe with singles like 'Guilty All The Same' or 'Final Masquerade,' or really surprise us with a song like 'A Line In The Sand' or even 'All For Nothing?' One thing we learned at the Forum is that anything is possible with these sets, and even if nothing changes, we really will be on the edge of our seats to see what they'll be up to at the Barclays Center. We must also discuss the true possibility of a Collision Course reunion seeing as we are in New York City now. What does the band have in store for us in the Big Apple? Opening these American dates and the upcoming European dates is grandson, a.k.a. Mike Shinoda's music world son. He was just as excited as we were in Los Angeles, asking the crowd during his set, "are you ready to be a part of music history tonight? No, that's not good enough. Are you ready for the return for the greatest show in music, Linkin Park?!" To put the icing on the cake, he opened with the ending of Mike Shinoda's 'Running From My Shadow,' celebrating his relationship with him -- and now the band -- before kicking into his own tracks like '6:00' and 'Riptide.' He even took time to have the crowd think of all the people who couldn't be here to join us on this journey, who we wish were during the slower song 'Heather.' He got the energy flowing back up by the end, leaving off with his hit 'Blood / Water.' Show up early if you can, because there is truly no better person to be opening these shows than a fellow fan like grandson himself. grandson opening his set with Mike Shinoda's 'Running From My Shadow' and his song '6:00.' Will Mike come out to join him for the song in New York? Who will we be seeing in New York tomorrow?! Mark (Hahninator) and I (Dylan) are back for our second show of the tour and will be in the city by the late afternoon to get ready for the show! If you see us, be sure to say what's up! Weatherman Rogue Soul reporting a mostly brisk and cloudy day in Brooklyn, so not much to worry about on that front. If you want to grab merch before the show, a pop-up stand will be located at Flashbush Ave. and 5th Ave from 12pm to 6pm, and will be open even if you don't have a ticket. LPU Early Entry queuing begins at 8am - check the LPUnderground information here if you would like to enter that way. Linkin Park will be performing on Jimmy Fallon the day after this show on September 17 with an interview with Mike Shinoda, so tune in that night if you can! After that, the band heads to Europe to kick off the next leg of the From Zero World Tour, with shows in Hamburg and London, with Seoul soon after that. The band's new album From Zero is out November 15. We'll be updating you guys from home here and on our social media, so be sure to follow us if you don't already (Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook)! Rumors are stirring about another new song called 'Heavy Is The Crown' being released soon in conjunction with the new season of Arcane - Mike Shinoda, twenty one pilots, and more have already teased their involvement with the project. Be on the lookout for little pop-up appearances like this Jimmy Fallon appearance as well in whichever city they head to!
  9. Warner didn't take them down, they are simply still uploading lol. check back in a few hours

  12. LPTV is back! Check out the first episode of the new series LPTV FROM ZERO, which goes behind the scenes of Linkin Park's September 6 From Zero livestream event.
  13. put it in the post near the bottom. Doors at 6pm, grandson starts at 7. LP probably start between 8 and 9
  14. Can you feel it in the air? The magic of the first full Linkin Park show in seven years? I am currently writing this 35,000 feet in the air as I make the journey from New Jersey to California for what may perhaps be one of this fanbase's biggest moments ever, and man, where do we begin? After last week's massive unveiling of the next chapter of Linkin Park and the From Zero album promotion and tour, the band are set to take the stage at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California on September 11, 2024 for the kick off of this year's From Zero World Tour with a sold-out show. Linkin Park shocked the world last week at the genesis of their September 5 Livestream Event, where 500 lucky, unwitting LPU fans got to witness the world premiere of the new Linkin Park at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles while hundreds of thousands watched on from elsewhere in the world. New vocalist Emily Armstrong, new drummer/co-producer Colin Brittain (as Rob Bourdon has stepped away from the band), and Brad Delson's live stand-in (as he later announced he will not be making live appearances on this touring cycle) guitarist Alex Feder were introduced to the world as they ran through new music and breathing new life into the band's classics. The show kicked off with a brand new mashup intro -- listed on the setlist as 'Inception Intro A' -- featuring parts of 'The Requiem,' 'Castle Of Glass,' 'In The End,' 'Numb,' and 'Somewhere I Belong' before launching straight into the world premiere of their new single 'The Emptiness Machine,' making it the first time any fans in the world had ever heard the song. Emily made the stage and the song her own, as her incredible vocals won over the crowd and us watching at home alike. Many of the band's biggest singles were brought back out of their storage units as well, some being performed in different keys to accommodate Emily's voice. Songs like 'Crawling,' 'What I've Done,' 'In The End' were played with these changes - in fact, a total of ten songs were played differently than how we are all accustomed to hearing them. Other songs, like 'The Catalyst' and 'Papercut,' remained unchanged (perhaps because they are more Mike-centric songs). The latter showed off a bit of what Colin brings to the table, particularly in the second verse where he changes up the drum patterns, add some fills, and altogether adds a new kick to an already essential live song. While pretty much every song performed was a single in some capacity, many of us live enthusiasts know the band still brought out some deep treats for the crowd. 'Lying From You' was performed as its studio version for the first time since Taiwan 2013, making it over ten years since the song was last played like this. On The Hunting Party Tour in 2014 and 2015, the band performed a new version of Collision Course's 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You,' which means the last appearance of the song in any Linkin Park-related setlist was in January 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee. On top of that, the Mike Shinoda and Emily performed a shortened, stripped-down piano version of 'Lost' for the very first time, awing the crowd in the process. Some old intros and outros found some new kicks too, the familiar 'One Step Closer' outro and the 'Faint' outro both having slight changes, as well as the 'Numb/Encore' intro to 'Numb' being a little more of a jam session than in previous iterations. New intros were added to 'Waiting For The End' and 'One Step Closer,' while new transitions also helped the setlist flow. 'Bleed It Out' naturally closed the show, the full live spectacle of it brought back to life, complete with Mike rapping the first verse of 'A Place For My Head' over the extended bridge. If this doesn't sound like a band back in action at full force, I don't know what does. The world premiere of 'The Emptiness Machine,' filmed live at Linkin Park's September 5 event in Los Angeles, California. While the first show back gave us a perspective on what this new chapter of Linkin Park may sound like and how old songs have evolved, there are still many questions we have going into this one. Linkin Park will be debuting their arena setup at the Forum (which can be seen throughout the band's interview with Zane Lowe), performing for the first time in the center of the arena in a 360 format. Mike has made multiple claims on Discord about some aspects of the show, including information that it will be at least two hours long, Mike and Brad have both personally curated the setlists (notice the plural there), and that the band will be switching sides of the stage halfway through the show. We can expect at least the 14 songs from the livestream show to be performed, perhaps with some rotating out of songs ('Lying From You' could be swapped out for another heavy classic like 'Points Of Authority' or 'From The Inside,' for example), but beyond that, it's really anyone's guess. Some notable tracks missing from that event include anything from the band's previous three albums: 'Burn It Down,' 'Castle Of Glass,' 'New Divide,' 'Leave Out All The Rest,' 'Heavy...' The list can go on with a band with this many singles. Clearly, the band isn't taking just from the Papercuts collection to formulate these setlists, and with a new lineup and many, many years of planning, there's really no telling what will make and what won't. We can certainly speculate though! Linkin Park has too many tracks going back that simply thrive in a live setting: 'When They Come For Me,' 'No More Sorrow,' 'A Place For My Head,' 'Lost In The Echo,' and dozens more. Mike mentioned in an interview that the band have been relearning 'Breaking The Habit' in a new key, Emily mentioned learning nearly 50 songs, and some new gear has been spotted in Mike Shinoda's touring rig (including an acoustic guitar and new guitars that he began using during his COVID Twitch livestreams). Some more Mike-centric tracks like 'Castle Of Glass,' 'Roads Untraveled,' and 'Sorry For Now' could be in the books, too. We could even see some Shinoda solo tracks make their way into the setlist - a lot of people would be happy to see proper live debuts of songs like 'Already Over' and 'fine,' and with grandson opening these first few shows, maybe even 'Running From My Shadow' could be on the menu (Phoenix has previously joined Mike to perform the song, as well). 'QWERTY' had a resurgence this year after being released as a single for Papercuts, as well as the new track 'Friendly Fire' from the One More Light sessions being unleashed upon the world could put those in the running, as well. A full version of 'Lost,' whether full band or acoustic, would also be a great treat. The possibilities are endless, especially since this show should clock in at about double the length as the livestream show. Their whole discography is fair game at the moment, and only time will tell what should expect. The prospect of multiple setlists is also exciting, meaning that we might see a wide selection of different songs between shows this month. It seems fair to guess that 'The Emptiness Machine' will open up to show, but even that isn't a given! Maybe a new song or two might even make an appearance, with rumors that a new single 'Heavy Is The Crown' could be on its way. What song would you want the band to bring back out the most? Linkin Park performed 'Roads Untraveled' for the first time ever at their Chester Bennington Memorial Show in October 2017 at the Hollywood Bowl. Mike Shinoda also performed the song throughout his Post Traumatic Tour - we would definitely love to see this song get a little more action in Linkin Park sets as we move into a new era. That all being side, whatever Linkin Park whip out at the show, they'll at least be in familiar territory. Los Angeles is the band's hometown, so it's no surprise that they're kicking off things there: this will be the band's 67th show in the city since 2000 (including private events, award shows, and otherwise) and their fourth show at the KIA Forum, formerly known as just The Forum. The band first played this venue in 2004 on the Meteora World Tour, taking place on March 14, 2004 after being rescheduled from February 6 as a result of Chester struggling with both bronchitis and laryngitis at the time. This made the new date the final stop on the winter leg of their US run that year, hitting the city with an unreal amount of Meteora tour classics: 'It's Goin' Down,' 'Nobody's Listening,' and 'Don't Stay' were featured in the setlist alongside other deep cuts like 'My December' and Reanimation's 'P5hng Me A*wy.' Sonny Sandoval from P.O.D. also joined the band for 'One Step Closer.' On the Minutes To Midnight Tour in July 2007, lucky fans were treated to breakfast before watching Linkin Park rehearse at the venue for that year's Projekt Revolution which kicked off the next week as part of KROQ's Kevin and Bean's Breakfast Show, treating them to special performances of new songs like 'What I've Done' and 'Leave Out All The Rest,' as well as an aborted and restarted 'Pushing Me Away' piano version. Linkin Park's most recent show there was in December 2014, at that year's KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, which featured a very unique set that opened with Joe Hahn's solo medley into 'Burn It Down.' one of only two times that the latter was the band's opening song of the night. The band essentially played the second half of their tour setlist as their selection for this show, adding a rare performance of 'Rebellion' where the encore break would be, and were joined by System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian (who appears on the studio version) to play the song. This show should be one the band's most important entries into their Los Angeles history yet, and hopefully when they tour next year (as they've been mentioning that 2025 will see Linkin Park touring heavily) we can take another look back at this show and be even more excited for what's to follow. And we can't have a pre-show post without mentioning the opener, who many in the fanbase already know and love. grandson will be opening the first four shows of the tour (every stop except Seoul and Bogota In November), bringing his rebellious tracks mixed with the rap and rock fervor that could have been inspired by Linkin Park to their stage before they go on. grandson featured on the previously mentioned 'Running From My Shadow' from Mike Shinoda's 2018 solo album Post Traumatic, and joined him onstage a handful of times, including in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in October 2018 (fun fact: I was also a guest onstage with Mike that night! I got to play guitar on 'Roads Untraveled'). While that was most of our introduction to the then-upcoming artist, he has since carved his own space in the industry. You can expect to hear some of his biggest songs during his set, including 'Darkside' and 'Dirty,' as well as classic hits such as 'Blood // Water' and '6:00.' Maybe we'll even see a Shinoda appearance during his set? Mike Shinoda performing 'Running From My Shadow' with live guest grandson at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2018. Will we see this again on this tour since everyone is touring together? If you're heading to the show, be sure to stay hydrated and cool as much as you can throughout the day! Much of western California is under an Excessive Heat Warning today, and while that is set to expire tonight, the California sun can still be unforgiving, especially to us traveling there. For more information of the weather in Los Angeles the next few days, click here. But with a great deal of Linkin Park fans heading to both Los Angeles and New York in the coming days, it'll be a great time to meet up with old friends, grab some food and drinks, and get excited for what's to come! Doors are scheduled to open at 6:00pm PST, with music from grandson kicking off at 7:00pm. Linkin Park will likely take the stage sometime between 8:00pm and 9:15pm. If you are in Los Angeles today (September 10) already, an official pop-up merch stand will be opened outside the Forum from 5:00pm to 8:00pm PST if you want to skip tomorrow's lines and grab your stuff today! Are you ready? LPLive will not only have you covered on what's going on with updates, but three members of the team will be in Los Angeles the next few days around the show! Myself (Dylan), Mark (Hahninator) and Anthony (Astat) will be amok in the streets of Hollywood, so say hi if you see us around or at the show! Linkin Park's next stop on the From Zero World Tour is in Brooklyn, New York next Monday, September 16 (Mark and I will be at that show, too) before they head to Europe and Asia for shows in Hamburg, London, and Seoul. The band's new album From Zero is out November 15. 17. With all the excitement of the livestream show, a lot of questions have been thrown around lately. A big one is the absence of Brad Delson at the show, but seemingly in all promotional interviews and pictures in the past few days' onslaught of interviews and articles (we'll provide a roundup soon of everything we've learned from these). The band posted a statement from Brad on their social media, expressing his excitement for the next chapter of Linkin Park, touching upon his absence, and introducing his live stand-in Alex Feder. What are your thoughts? We'll miss Brad (and Rob) onstage with the rest of the guys, but we are incredibly excited to see what the band has in store for us this month at their shows.
