Why is this not here: http://lplive.net/shows/db/2002/20020201 ?

    Good question.

Skipees posted both on the "Submit Show Notes" thread a long time before the new version launched.

We talked about it. It's not a Linkin Park feat. Steave Aoki. This is the list of guests during Linkin Park shows, and not vice versa.

Again, you're listing a Steve Aoki show where Mike and Chester were guests (Summer Sonic), so there's no reason for not listing the Los Angeles or the Jimmy Kimmel shows.

We don't add such guests, who don't add anything vocally or musically.

"Steve Aoki came out on 'A Light That Never Comes' (after watching a portion of Linkin Park's set from the side of the stage) but did not "perform" on it since he didn't have any gear set up."

I didn't read the show notes and haven't watched the show yet.

I looked at the setlist and it says "w/ Steve Aoki". You guys need to fix this.

  3. A 7 minute song? It seems that the first song ends around 4 minutes, fades out and the Donna song starts at around 4:14, it sounds totally different too. Massive difference in the mix if you listen over headphones.

Is the trailer song in the movie? If it's not then there's the Terrified song from the opening, the "3rd act" song and 2 songs in the credits.

It's the "Trailer Music Feature" in the first post.

  4. You know that the whole soundtrack is more than just these 4 songs right? There's these full 4 full songs listed in the credits, and there's also additional instrumental music throughout the whole movie by them, pretty much just like the Raid soundtrack. I doubt that they would "waste" the on the LPU14 since they basically would make almost no money from it, and I'm sure they know a lot of people would be interested in buying it, it's still new LP music in some way. I hope that they do at least a digital release.

That's what I meant by "original songs + score."

I want to hear everything, not only these 4 songs.

  5. I don't want them to be on LPU 14 either.

When I first heard they were working on the soundtrack, I was expecting something like The Raid. An official soundtrack release including the original songs + score.

But (like someone said) knowing Linkin Park, they will end up releasing those songs on LPU 14, which sucks because that would leave space to only 6 other tracks. And since all these 4 tracks have vocals, the other 6 would be just instrumentals.

  6. You've been taking it all this time

You left my trust on the firing line

    As the promises break

    And all the mistakes

    Giving you what was mine

Your words are clear but their meaning's gone

The notes are right but the tuning's wrong

And when you tell me again that

    I should give in

I can only take it so long

    A%#&! / You're terrified, terrified

You'd rather throw it all away, all away, all

    Away / You're terrified, terrified

You'd rather throw it all away

Fear is dancing inside your lies

    Exposing secrets that you've disguised

    And I'm biting my tongue

    As you become

    Victim of a compromise

'Cause I know who you really are

Not scratch where you can take a scar

And it's time that you seek

    The truth without me

I can only get you so far

Mike's commentary on THP track by track (from the twitter listening party):

    Source: Mike Shinoda's twitter

    That's awesome! Thanks! Added.

So THIS is where I should have posted this :P

    From Chester interview with Scuzz

Mike asked Chester to bring in any "punky" songs he had. Chester said he went home and wrote War in "about 5 minutes" and brought it in the next day.

    Link please.

    Edit:

There's something wrong with the show/hide button on "Until It's Gone" and "Mark The Graves". They are not working.

  8. Great review!

I look forward to disecting more of The Hunting Party and will update my review in a month, as my outlook on songs will surely be different, and hopefully for the better.

I think it will be nice if you do the new review in another post so we can compare it to the first listen review. Just a suggestion.

  9. Suggestion:

Wouldn't it be more wise to sort this list alphabetically by song, since it's a list focused on the songs? If I'd want to check if I own all versions of Crawling, I wouldn't want to search the list for every version. I'd want to see all song versions at one spot.

    You can:

    - Crawling

    • Crawling (HT USA) [3:29.00] - Orginal studio track
    • Crawling (8-Bit Rebellion) - 8-Bit instrumental
    • Crawling (Rock Band 3) - A Capella version
    • Crawling (HT Instrumentals) - Instrumental version
    • Krwlng (Reanimation USA) [5:40.19] - Original remix track
    • Krwlng (Reanimation Internal Tracks) - Intro/outro violin absent, strings quiter, no live string, rough synth transition, louder bass, different vocal effects
    • Crawling (HT 9-Track Demo) [3:52.57] - "AH I hate you so much right now!" is screamed before the intro, scratching is much more audible, short break before verse 2 starts, "so insecure" with only keys and beat before chorus 2, different vocal take with different lyrics, no refrain ending.
    • Crawling (HT 8-Track Demo) [3:51.57] - Raindrops bridge, different vocal take with different lyrics.
    • Crawling (HT 7-Track Demo) [3:50.47] - Raindrops bridge
    • Crawling (HT 6-Track Demo) - Song ends on 'controlling'.
    • Crawling (HT Unmastered) - Same as 6-Track Demo, except the beat is different before verse 1, the music ends later, and it's a different vocal take.)

    Edit:

By the way, delete the "A Capella version" thing from all the Rock Band 3 tracks. Change to "multitracks" or "original studio track".

    Edit 2:

    - My December
    • My December (HT Bonus Track) - Original studio track
    • My December (LPU 2) [4:19.53]
    • My

List the remix as "My-Dsmbr" or "My Dsmbr" and the rest of the line won't disappear.

    • Waiting For The End (???) - KickDrums Remix

It came from the KickDrums SoundCloud page.
