  1. I was wrong. Mike opens for NIN, the date is out and it's August 11th. That's really cool.
  2. Six songs is the normal set for a band there. Mike went over double that. That's cool that he really doesn't give a fuck. NYC is going to be his first solo headlining show on his own without a festival or time constraints. Special night, and only 499 cap at Gramercy. It'd be cool if we get exclusive merch for that show too.
  3. What a set. Fourteen songs, a normal show length pretty much. I like that he debuted three brand new songs. This gets me excited for the full length setlist for NYC. That exclusive merch looks awesome, I'd buy that. Frank's artwork design for this album is good.
  4. It's definitely a digital release on all platforms at 12:00am local time, across the world.
  5. It leaked an hour before its official release in New Zealand and now as the release time spreads across Asia, Australia, etc, it is becoming available in many more markets. And online too.
  6. I'm waiting to hear the album until the preorder arrives tomorrow. The $59 deal of the album, art book, exclusive shirt, and signed photo print is truly a great deal.
  7. Yeah great set prediction, I like that a lot. Petrified would be cool. In the live show, a Petrified/I.O.U. mashup would be wild.
  8. Yeah but if you have a ticket, you're in for that show. This one is first come, first served for many fans.
  9. Austria, a long-time supporter of Linkin Park's many shows in the country, will be the latest stop for Mike on his Post Traumatic European Tour. Mike will perform a unique outdoor show in Vienna at Arena Wien Open Air on September 7th, 2018. If you're looking for a fun show on this European Tour to attend, this might be the one. LPU - check the LPU for presale details. All main tickets go on sale here.
  10. Wow. 100 fans for the M&G were in line by 2:45am. Thats wild.
  11. I think Crossing A Line. Wouldn't be a big loss, my least favorite song released so far.
  12. That's an awesome story Geki. I went the day after the Hollywood Bowl show and the place had zero LP, because the international fans that came in raided it LOL. I bought a cool ass Foo Fighters shirt I found. When I checked out, the guy at the counter told me an awesome story about Dave Grohl coming in a few weeks before when there was some indie in-store event going on. Not many recognized him, and everyone left him alone. He rang Dave up and said he was the coolest guy... according to his manager Dave and Taylor Hawkins pop in every few months to find records. Deftones played this in 2016 I remember. Six songs. I think that's what Mike will play. Welcome Ghosts (Live Debut) About You > Over Again > Papercut Crossing A Line Remember The Name
  13. You just fill in and request them. But they go up for grabs a month early. It's too late now, there aren't any left for this one. If you want to stand in line at 9am for a chance to be on the wait list (then get your number and come back at 3:30) you can try that too for the standby line.
  14. LP never released this for some reason. They were planning to in 2001 at one point. I don't think any of this exists on physical media except the two songs on LPU 2 in audio. Right?
  15. It will leak in the next 24 hours and we'll start a News thread on it as usual so everyone can discuss.
  16. The tickets are free. You aren't out any money if you live in NYC.
  17. Friday at 12pm. If Mike plays KROQ Sound Space at that exact time (which is what the event page is showing, but seems so early for a performance...?) then LPFC will move it forward or backward.
  18. It's release week - press for the album is coming in. Lots of interviews! Billboard "I don't know if I could pick one thing, musically. I wasn't thinking about genre or presentation too much. I really don't overthink the aesthetic of each song very much; There's a logical craftsmanship to putting together a song and arranging song and the structure of it and so on. In that way it was just kind of like making an album or any art -- you just do it and then find out what it is you have." ALT105.3 FM (audio interview) Entertainment Weekly "I talked to Rick in the first week after Chester passed away. He’s a very even-keeled kind of person and energy. He has a perspective. We’ve done three Linkin Park albums with him [beginning with 2007’s Minutes to Midnight] and he made most of my top ten favorite albums growing up. I have a ton of respect for the guy. I asked for his guidance. He said, “Your situation is not like other ones that you’re thinking about. It’s not AC/DC. It’s not Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters. It’s not Chris Cornell. It’s not any of those things. Your dynamic and chemistry and responsibilities in your band are different from any of those groups. You’ve got a different dynamic. […] I think for all of you guys, getting on stage as soon as possible will be really cathartic for you, it’ll be informative for you, you’ll learn about what you can and should do and you’ll connect with the fans and give them a sense of closure." Album Review: Washington Post "Shinoda looks back to his old certainties and renegotiates them with “Promises I Can’t Keep.” On the standout track “Crossing a Line,” he broaches the idea of making his own music without his bandmates. (”I’ve found what I have been waiting for/But to get there means crossing a line.”) He confesses many personal interactions now get awkward quickly in “Hold It Together” and that he’s haunted in “Ghosts.” He teams up with K. Flay on “Make It Up As I Go,” confessing he has no idea what he’s doing but, “I have to make my own lane.” In the final stretch, the spacy “Lift Off” finds Shinoda recovering his swagger and demanding respect on “I.O.U.” He’s tired of biting his tongue on “Running from My Shadow” and celebrates a friend’s friendship on “World’s On Fire.” “Post Traumatic” isn’t perfect — it sorely needs some more editing — but it’s a remarkably honest and intense record. On the album’s last cut, Shinoda is finally floating above it all: “I’m somewhere far away where you can’t bring me down.” May he find his peace."
  19. LPFanCorner has announced the time for their Post Traumatic album global listening party on Twitter. The event will take place at 12:00pm PST on Friday via their Twitter (@LPFanCorner) but of course, everyone else (including us) will be participating. Mike has been known to join in, for every listening party since Living Things he has made an appearance. The most recent party was for One More Light Live last fall, where Mike actually took over and did an Instagram Live stream with everyone at the time as well.
  20. I had to look that one up. Damn the back and forth with Mike and Chester is awesome. Great song for LP to cover.
  21. Definitely. Sucks the tickets are sold out, I'd like to see this. I haven't been able to make any of the TV performances over the years. The wait list thing looks kind of like you won't make it in or something.
  22. It indeed sounds like he is not interested in a replacement vocalist, he is really blunt with his words. He says there is just simply no one that can take Chester's place or sing his songs. "No one is Chester." We have to remember it's not just a singer they would have to replace, it's a soulmate, a literal best friend (hell, more than a best friend, like a brother). It reminds me of Mike talking to Zane Lowe last month saying, "you'd have to go on tour with the new person....ehhhhh." The interviewer did good but I cannot believe he repeated the 324 shows in 2001 claim. It's so outlandish that surely you'd do a double take and say "that isn't possible." We disproved that over the years. I don't think Mike meant Chester can't SING hip hop, I think he was referring to him rapping. And that's ironic because Chester sounds 10x better rapping Sorry For Now than Mike does, LOL! I indeed love his performance on Slow Ya Roll, We Made It, etc. He has sung on an incredibly large amount of hip hop songs throughout his lengthy career, including many LP songs. I don't see why Mike would be referring to "singing" hip hop since Chester did it so much for LP. Almost all of Reanimation, he guested with Fort Minor several times, High Voltage, the Hybrid Theory EP, LPU songs, I mean just a very large amount of hip hop songs that Chester sang on. On the contrary, he has only rapped twice, once on Blackout and once on Sorry For Now. Both are excellent performances. Odd comment by Mike.
