  1. It has now been a year since Mike posted the video in the studio of Looking For An Answer. At that time, he said he sent it to Linkin Park to look at and that Rob was going to work on drums for it. That really took it out of "Post Traumatic" consideration for me as I interpreted it as a Linkin Park song at that time. But music is obviously interchangeable between the two, as Mike released Place To Start and Make It Up As I Go (both from the OML sessions). What do you think happens with the song? There are a lot of rumblings from Phoenix and Mike about wanting to continue Linkin Park one day and they both say they "think" Linkin Park will make music again sometime. Mike is also working on new music right now but he said LFAA didn't fit with Post Traumatic. Inevitably, it likely will not fit with the new music he's writing as he is moving forward subject-wise on music (you can see that with PT too). He mentioned in an interview this year that he has addressed the situation with his solo music, but Linkin Park had not addressed it with music yet. Do you think they are saving it for possible Linkin Park consideration if/when the band returns? It would be an awesome first song to release.
  2. They aren't available digitally.
  3. The first studio recording featuring the beloved Chester Bennington being released after July 2017 has leaked online. It appears that Apple Music mistakenly put the track "Cross Off" online for an extended period, the collaboration with Mark Morton from Lamb of God that is on his upcoming Anesthetic album. The track will be released as a single on January 8th, 2019. "Cross Off" is a very heavy song, with Chester adding a mixture of screaming, singing, and rapping over huge riffs, aggressive drums, and metal breakdowns. The song shows off his uncommon ability to be able to collaborate with artists from any genre of music, whether it be hip hop, alternative rock, classic rock, etc and deliver an exceptional end product. It is a stark contrast to the pop sound of Linkin Park's One More Light album, showing Chester was still in his prime for his musical contributions in any genre. "Cross Off" could be one of Chester's most impressive vocal performances to date. The song is a huge jam that any fans of Chester's will likely enjoy over and over again for years to come. Here is a clip of Chester filming inside the studio when he recorded the track. In April 2017, Chester tweeted, "The track I did with Mark Morton is SICK", "Who wants to hear me scream???", "I can't wait for you all to hear what Mark, Josh and I did in the studio the other night". Unfortunately at this time, we do not know who else is on the track with Mark and Chester. Mark said David Ellefson (Megadeth) played bass and Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour) played drums on lead single "The Truth Is Dead" as well as "The Never", but it is unclear if they are on this track as well. As a reminder, LPLive will NOT be allowing links to the leak here whatsoever. Make sure to purchase the album to support Mark Morton, especially as a thank you for releasing this track with Chester. Preorder Anesthetic now. Own the physical album with bundles here. Make sure to visit our Linkinpedia page for more information. 12/18 EDIT: The song has now been officially released via Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Deezer, and more. 12/19 EDIT: The song has now been taken down from all official release platforms. Lyrics: Cross off the days gone Cross off the days gone Gone by Wasting away our self inflicted slow decay What should have been, what never was Became the end for both of us Heavy is the hand that points the finger (finger) Heavy is the heart that's filled with anger (anger) So lay them all to waste Years you've decided to erase And cross off the days So black out and hide behind the lines Keep staring down the sun and note the Light will finally blind your eyes, it's the end Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone by Cutting you free The phantom that was part of me You have lived, you have lost The separation's worth the cost Heavy are the voices that go unspoken (spoken) Heavy are the promises now broken (broken) Well you burn below the chased Upon destruction in your wake Cross off the days So black out and hide behind the lines Keep staring down the sun and note the Light will finally blind your eyes, it's the end Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone Gone by Making my way back from the madness Shooting my thoughts through the blackness And the sadness, but the fact is I'm shooting through words like a clenched fist Fuck sanity, I wanna bleed Can't kill the pain It's everything It's all I feel It's what I breathe Through the hate I breathe into what I need Heavy is the hand that points the finger (finger) Heavy is the heart that's filled with anger (anger) Did you survey everything you laid to waste You cross off the days So black out and hide behind the lines Keep staring down the sun and note the Light will finally blind your eyes, it's the end Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone by Cross off the days gone by
  4. Following several successful videos in collaboration with Fan Footage, Mike Shinoda recently asked fans to film his latest single "Make It Up As I Go" at his November 2nd Los Angeles show. The finished product is out now and we are happy to exclusively present "Make It Up As I Go", live at the Hollywood Palladium! Linkin Park has worked with Fan Footage several times in the past, including "Until It's Gone" at Milan 2014 and "Talking To Myself" at Amsterdam 2017. The "Talking To Myself" video boasts a shocking 58+ hours of footage that was edited down into the video. Additionally, the band released a live video for "Waiting For The End" from Chicago and St. Paul 2011 with footage shot by fans.
  5. This is great. First of many, I bet, that come out in due time. I think Chester recorded enough music for us to have new stuff by him for a very long time.
  6. In April 2017, we reported that Chester was in the studio with Mark Morton of Lamb of God. Mark had been working on a solo album since 2016 and posted a tease (with some lyrics) of Chester in the studio with him. In October 2018, Mark confirmed that the song with Chester WOULD be released and it was on its way, promising updates soon. We are happy to bring you the news that Mark has announced his solo album today, entitled "Anesthetic", coming out on March 1st, 2019. The album (available for preorder now) is 10 songs and track number one is none other than "Cross Off" (feat. Chester Bennington) coming in at 4 minutes and 13 seconds. This will be the first release with Chester in 2019, following two prior music releases - Linkin Park's "One More Light Live" and Julien-K's "Time Capsule". Slash recently confirmed he recorded a song with Chester that he handed over to Chester's family. At the end of the day, it appears that Talinda gets a big say (likely the final call) in what IS or what IS NOT released with Chester on it, and so far, things are going really well for everyone. Thank you to Talinda for allowing us to continue hearing Chester's voice on (new) recordings for years to come.
  7. How come martinez? You have done an incredible job with it and it's a very valuable asset to the community. I'd love for you to keep working on it in the future if you have the time.
  8. What does it need? Gangster video like Petrified but on the streets of Chicago or Detroit? lol
  9. Chester and Mike always are working on music. Chester wrote all the time, even during the OML era. It is well known throughout their career that Mike wrote songs about Chester, that's just how good their friendship and connection is as songwriters. That connection reminds me of the story Mike told in Vienna this touring cycle about how they created Waiting For The End. Chester wrote the chorus and it was just Mike and Chester in the room writing the song together. Epic. Anyway even if Chester isn't a songwriter it doesn't mean the song isn't about him. Look at Nobody Can Save Me and Talking To Myself. The reason Chester didn't write as much on OML is because his life was falling apart around him. He even had to go to rehab, which the band kept completely quiet and withheld from the public, which I agree with them doing. They always had not only LP's best interests first but also Chester's. I remember the FB Live that Mike did in the studio for OML and he replied to a question of "Where is Chester?" and Mike said something that was so obscure it stuck with me for months afterward, just something like, "I don't know, I haven't seen him in a while." At that point, I said WOW that's weird that Mike doesn't know where the hell he is. But he did know, he was in rehab and he was just keeping it quiet. If Mike had said "Ah yeah he was in the other day and he doesn't come in every day but I'll see him soon" then I wouldn't have ever second guessed it lol Side note: The guest writers on OML don't bother me much as it was just one of those things LP does sometimes as an experiment. After writing a ton of albums in a ton of different genres over the years, and refining their songwriting approach with Rick Rubin in 2006 (IMO which created one of their very best albums in MTM), they just wanted to see how others wrote songs and see new approaches. A learning experiment, if you will. I highly doubt going into future albums past OML that they would have continued that trend. I'm alright with it OML because the album did end up being a pretty solid pop album and the songs translate exceptionally well live (no surprise since LP is a modern top tier live act). Go back and look at Mike's social media posts and read his interviews during the Post Traumatic era. He wrote Fort Minor songs in summer 2017 specifically, and one of those was Lift Off with Machine Gun Kelly in Berlin. He already had presented the idea to Linkin Park of him releasing solo Fort Minor songs "later in the OML cycle", which I presume meant either after Japan or during a break in the 2018 cycle. But most likely the end of 2017. Linkin Park gave a thumbs up to it, as they always have. It's the same thing as he did with Welcome in 2015. He may have even done some FM shows again. Dead By Sunrise was set for a comeback in fall 2017. Frank Zummo confirmed that he, Chester, and Ryan and Amir were going to perform some secret popup shows in warehouses around LA for fun. Would Chester have dropped more solo material? It seems unlikely as his release format was an album versus individual songs BUT you never know. Linkin Park was booked as a headliner for Download Australia's inaugural performance in March 2018, in Melbourne. The OML cycle was going to keep going into 2018. With all of this said, if Chester wouldn't have passed away, we would have had Linkin Park, Fort Minor, and Dead By Sunrise all coexisting at the exact same time. I have no idea what the details are about LP's deal with Warner. But I do know in the statement about Chester, Linkin Park said he "talked excitedly about the years ahead", meaning they were discussing plans for the band for future years. LP was on top of their game on a MASSIVE (and massively successful) world tour for One More Light. It was a very exciting time that ended in such a horrible tragedy. I'll always look back on that time (March-July 2017) with fond memories of LP kicking ass on stage, performing some amazing shows to huge crowds, and gearing up for an epic upcoming USA tour.
  10. K Flay has always done that on MIUAIG. It's always playback with her live vocals over it, like Mike on Remember The Name. What a great set. Mike absolutely killed it and he got in 12 songs too. Two guests. Setlist was perfect with WTCFM opening. Really loved it.
  11. This was a great evening. Essentially the music starts at 7pm and doesn't end until midnight, due to there only being 3~ minutes between acts where the hosts talk and commercials play. Phew, it's like a marathon. I enjoyed all of the acts. Foster the People was my least favorite. Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, and Mike were my favorites in order. Mike was quite sloppy at this show, messing up lyrics on at least 3 songs and rushing In The End. I think they need a full setlist rehearsal before they go on tour. About You's intro was a complete mess, like when they did Welcome with the hard start in Florida. Just play the normal intro...they had time (like 2+ mins of downtime before About You). But I did enjoy Papercut in the big arena. Not a big crowd for Mike and not many folks standing but the pit was pretty into it. Death Cab was phenomenal. Played a great set. Muse was in prime A+ form and really rocked the place... huge sound and an epic setlist. Would love to attend this event in the future again because you are able to see bands you enjoy but aren't too passionate about... so you get their best setlist all condensed and ready to go.
  12. Wow he played Crossing A Line at this one. Sounds great with Matt's keyboard.
  13. The last show of the year is finally here, as Mike Shinoda appropriately ends his monstrous 2018 touring schedule with a show at none other than the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. Way back in May, Mike kicked off his Post Traumatic shows with a set at the KROQ Weenie Roast on the second stage. He kicked it off in style as he performed two shows in one day for the first time solo, but he had done that with Linkin Park and Fort Minor several times in 2006 and once in 2015. 57 shows later, it all ends in Inglewood tonight! This show will be webcasted as usual! Mike performs at 7:45pm PST, and looks to get 30-35 minutes for his set again which should come to around 9 songs. Mike's last time at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas was with Linkin Park in 2014. LP's hour set was a memorable one, with Daron Malakian from System of a Down joining for Rebellion and Tim McIlrath from Rise Against joining for Bleed It Out. One of our favorite shows at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas events has been the 2007 performance on the Minutes To Midnight World Tour, but there has not been a single bad performance by LP at these events. This show ends three shows in five days for Mike and brings the year to a close. Mike is back on the road in March with a big European headlining tour.
  14. The video being out of sync with the audio is really weird.
  15. Prove You Wrong is an entire mood. Really love it. In verse two he's really destroying someone for not having his back when he wanted to start making music again. With all the stuff going on lately, HMMM. Ha. What The Words Meant is really sad. He's like describing when he heard Chester write a BADASS heavy rock song (I guess Hybrid Theory or Meteora and now he's really second guessing what he thought the lyrics meant. I sense some regret (in a way) there which is natural but really sad. You can tell how much respect Mike had for Chester, Chester's input in Linkin Park, and Chester as a person for going through all that shit in his life. This might be the first song 100% about Chester (besides Over Again being about 7/20 and the Bowl show). What a checkmate move for him to do this when all this nonsensical shit is blowing up in the press. I really love it.
  16. That's probably because was known for showing up and kicking fucking ass no matter who they opened for. And it continues with Mike. There's a different sense of energy they put in when they aren't headlining, whether it's subconsciously or not. I love the shorter shows. Mike in Camden was absolutely fucking epic. People texted messages to the big screen to show for the rest of the ENTIRE night. Like 9 of 10 messages were about Mike and Chester. Incredible.
  17. Oh no close the door We're back at the same show again. This oughta be fun.
  18. This Friday marks the release of Mike Shinoda's Post Traumatic re-release on vinyl - a 2LP special edition colored vinyl with a 10" of two unreleased songs. Vinyls are beginning to arrive around the world so we decided to review the songs. The two new songs int his release are titled "Prove You Wrong" and "What The Words Meant". While it is unclear if these are "brand new" songs just written or not, it seems most likely that they are leftovers from the Post Traumatic recording sessions. If you are fans of the album Post Traumatic or Fort Minor's song "Welcome", you are guaranteed to enjoy these two songs. "Prove You Wrong" stylistically fits right in with the rest of the Post Traumatic style, starting with a synth loop that slowly builds into Mike singing "welcome to the breakdown / tired of playing games now / making it no mistake I will prove you wrong" over a guitar piece. Mike casually raps the verses; with lines like "I'm just trying to breathe, just let me get a breath in". He spells it all out for doubters as if he's talking directly to those who think he can't forge a path forward. Timing-wise, this song would appear to have been written sometime near the verses of "Make It Up As I Go" as the subject matter is similar. "Prove Me Wrong" is reminiscent of "Ghosts" on Post Traumatic and has an almost commercial feel to it. Verse two is quite similar to "Welcome" and has Mike directly speaking to someone he asked for confidence from and who did not give him any - someone who gave him an "I don't know" which left Mike unhappy. The line "I'm sick of being patient, underestimated, this will be the day that I prove you wrong" really sticks out as it makes listeners think that there is one specific person that this could be written about The bridge starts quietly and slowly builds in an almost similar fashion to Rob's drumbeat on the "What I've Done" bridge, with Mike singing over and over, "I've been to the bottom now and I may go back again, even if I could turn back time, there are things out of our hands." As all instruments roll on at the end of the song, Mike shows off his singing voice by extending the "welcome to the breakdown" lines to take the song to its finale. "What The Words Meant" is a much slower track, almost like a mashup of "Nothing Makes Sense Anymore" (both with the style and the piano) and a much slower "Watching As I Fall". This song's lyrical content in this one is about Mike looking back at Linkin Park's songs throughout their career and Chester's lyrics. It begins, "The first time I heard it, didn't know what it was, I listened to it over and over, I couldn't get enough." Mike solemnly sings the chorus, "I thought I understood what the words meant / I thought I knew the meaning behind / I memorized the sounds and the rhythms / and wondered 'bout the stories inside" Everyone who heard Hybrid Theory the first time were clearly surprised and that echoes what Mike says in verse two as he goes on with, "The first time I heard it, didn't know what it was, it was foreign and angry and brilliant, I couldn't get enough, but the story behind it, you revealed it to me, and I realized you had lived through what I'd never seen". The bridge of the song is reminiscent of "Watching As I Fall" with the guitar solo, but with it chopped and mixed up in a DJ-style. Ending the track, the journey takes us to the end where Mike sings, "I wish I didn't know what the words meant / but they never written for me" as piano brings the song to an end. Honestly, either song could appear on Post Traumatic, but the album was pretty maxed out with sixteen tracks. We would have gladly taken eighteen but that indeed is long for a release. But who plays by the rules anymore? And there is a chance they could be from after the album was released if Mike decides to come forward with that information. Thankfully Mike has included the tracks on this special edition, which you can pick up here. If you are a hardcore fan of Mike, you won't want to miss these tracks which will be nice bonuses to your music library with the album. More music is likely on the way from Mike, so stay tuned! We'd love to hear what you think of the tracks as your vinyls begin arriving around the world! Lyrics: Prove You Wrong: Welcome to the breakdown Tired of playing games now Make it no mistake I will prove you wrong I'm sick of being patient Underestimated This will be the day That I prove you wrong Walkin' in the building Everybody still askin' how I'm feelin' Have I felt like I finally caught a rhythm" And I don't know what kind of answer I should give them But I say I'm just trying to know where the next step is Looking for the "go" where the "ready, set" is Tryna to find a beat I can get in step with I'm just tryna breathe let me get a breath in Yes I know, we can't all follow where I plan to go All I want is faith in the path I chose All I want is faith in the path I chose So welcome to the breakdown Tired of playing games now Make it no mistake I will prove you wrong I'm sick of being patient Underestimated This will be the day That I prove you wrong I was on a high for a minute Feeling just right, just fine for a minute And then my vibe could turn on its side in a minute The second I asked you if you had my back And in your hesitation, betrayed, you did not I asked you for confidence you haven't got Heartbreakin', you basically end and you find There was no way to take it but anger inspired So there you go All I want is faith in the path I chose All I'm getting back is an "I don't know" Standing in the flames as the fire grows So welcome to the breakdown Tired of playing games now Make it no mistake I will prove you wrong I'm sick of being patient Underestimated This will be the day That I prove you I've been to the bottom now And I may go back again Even if I could turn back time There are things out of our hands I've been to the bottom now And I may go back again Even if I could turn back time There are things out of our hands I've been to the bottom now And I may go back again Even if I could turn back time There are things out of our hands I've been to the bottom now And I may go back again Even if I could turn back time There are things out of our hands So welcome to the breakdown Tired of playing games now Make it no mistake I will prove you wrong I'm sick of being patient Underestimated This will be the day That I prove you wrong Welcome to the breakdown Make it no mistake I will prove you wrong Welcome to the breakdown This will be the day That I prove you wrong What The Words Meant: The first time I heard it Didn't know what it was I listened to it over and over I couldn't get enough I knew every syllable And the space in between And I wondered What my own song would be I thought I understood what the words meant I thought I knew the meaning behind I memorized the sounds and the rhythms And wondered about the stories inside I thought I understood what the words meant I thought that they were written for me A message spelled out in a language That only those who've been there Been there can read The first time I heard it Didn't know what it was It was foreign and angry and brilliant I couldn't get enough But the story behind it You revealed it to me And I realized You had lived through what I had never seen I never understood what the words meant I never knew the meaning behind I memorized the sounds and the rhythms But didn't know the stories inside I never understood what the words meant The words were never written for me A message spelled out in a language That only those who've been there Been there can read I wish I didn't know what the words meant Or understand the meaning behind I memorized the sounds and the rhythms And now I know the stories inside I wish I didn't know the words meant That they were written for me A message spelled out in a language That only those who've been there Been there can read Been there Been there can read Been there Been there can read
  19. Camden and LoveLoud were 12 songs and 45 min sets. Since this is 30, it will be 9~ songs like KROQ Weenie Roast. Remember The Name Castle Of Glass Make It Up As I Go Crossing A Line In The End About You Over Again Papercut Good Goodbye/Bleed It Out Running From My Shadow That's my guess. Would love to see When They Come For Me or Roads Untraveled instead of Castle Of Glass.

  21. https://www.kerrang.com/features/a-perfect-circle-talk-us-through-every-track-on-eat-the-elephant/ Eat The Elephant "It’s in a different form now to how it was originally, but all the notes are the same. I handed a demo for it to [Eat The Elephant producer] Dave Sardy and my manager and said, ‘What do you think about this?’ It’s a song I was thinking of for [billy’s other band] Ashes Divide. Chester from Linkin Park had texted me and asked if I wanted to co-write a song for their record. We talked about going into the studio to write, but this song was my ace in the hole, in case we didn’t come up with anything on the fly. Chester took his own life, and that event prompted me in a whirlwind of grief to finish that song. In a way it’s a dedication to him."
  22. That is really crazy to me considering the Honda Civic Tour was WILDLY successful as well as the rest of the Living Things cycle. If I had to put a dollar amount on the most successful touring cycle I'd say MTM by far, because they did so many international huge shows. But THP had 2 massive Brazil shows, the INSANE China Tour which I'm sure with 5 stadiums netted LP a lot of millions, and a big Euro Tour.
  23. I know they sold out Amsterdam in 2014 but I don't know about Germany. Obviously drew enough people at the arena shows in 2014 in Germany to play a soccer stadium in Berlin in 2015, though, and two HUGE other shows.
  24. Hey everyone, we're back looking for tickets to add to Mike Shinoda's 2018 tour page. You can take a quick glance at the touring year pages and see what shows we have tickets for. We are looking for Mike Shinoda tickets for North America, Asia and Europe in 2018. *Please note that we are not posting anyone's tickets until AFTER the show has been completed (to eliminate any risk/hazard). Please submit your images to us via email at pics(AT)lplive(DOT)net. Other things we are taking: (LP, DBS, JK, FM, any band we cover on LPL) - Show pictures - Ticket scans/pictures - Upgrades of pictures we already have on the site - M&G wristbands, VIP wristbands, GA pit wristbands, any kind of wristbands or passes - Show posters - Anything that we don't already have on LPLive that has to do with the show We will ask again once the tour is over since people accumulate passes/wristbands/etc at the shows as well. Thanks everyone!
  25. The first MTM Tour in 2007 only had one Germany show, in Hamburg. Before that, they did the Berlin club show but they had club shows in Germany for both Hybrid Theory and Meteora so that's nothing new. It was in 2008, I guess due to the massive success of MTM in Germany, where LP started exploding in popularity in Germany. They had three arena shows there in the winter, and then they took Projekt Revolution outside of the USA for the first time by taking it to Germany. Munchen, Berlin, and Dusseldorf had massive Projekt Rev shows. I would really love for those to be released as DSPs one day too. In the LPTV for 2008, Chester says Munchen was the largest PR show ever (later outdone by Milton Keynes). Later on after those were announced, they added the Mannheim show too for the fourth German show of the tour. I think that's when it really started. In 2009 they had 30k~ in Stuttgart at just a headlining show. That show was MASSIVE. Two shows on that tour. In 2010, they sold so many tickets immediately for five arena shows in Germany that they needed to add a sixth in Dortmund mid tour. I am shocked the Living Things arena tour didn't happen because it would have had a ton of German shows. THP in 2014 got a LOT. And now it continues with Mike. It isn't a surprise to me, the fans there are epic and shows are always sold out or close to it.
