Mark Morton & Chester Bennington Song Update
hahninator replied to lpliveusername's topic in Newswire
Unfortunately both of you are wrong on this. Warner is completely on board with releasing Chester stuff, and there is at least one project in the works right now behind the scenes. The first thing we should see is a Dead By Sunrise project that has been in the works all of 2018, but it isn't quite ready yet. Julien-K has had an unprecedented year with touring and all that so they are busy for the time being. There is material which we don't have that they want to include on that, and WBR is all on board with it. Mark Morton's song with Chester is going to be released. There are some 2019 things that will happen. Look for the Slash song as well. Undoubtedly there are collaborations which we don't even know about - maybe some of those come too. LPU CDs will return with time. The band isn't ready yet and they for sure don't want their first release after OML Live to be an LPU CD a year later. When LP gets things rolling again we'll see the LPU CDs I bet. Talinda has OK'd the Chester stuff with Linkin Park and the label, so there aren't any Courtney Love-style holdups there. Everyone here is total class and WBR is on the side of LP despite what some fans might think. The big question is what happens to the full Linkin Park songs with Chester. That's a big question the band will have to tackle one day - do they do box sets for each album and throw them on there or do they do one big Chester memorial CD or what? -
Mike said surprises are coming tonight. Maybe he plays Invisible since it was soundchecked in Dallas.

Invisible at soundcheck, wow.

On the 27th, Mike takes his North American #PostTraumaticTour to just outside of Houston to the Woodlands! The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a popular spot for Linkin Park, with the 11th LPU Summit being held at the venue in 2014 on the Carnivores Tour. Mike will be playing at Buzzfest, a festival that Chester played at with Stone Temple Pilots in 2013. He performs second to last on the Second Stage, after Puddle of Mudd and before Dirty Heads. Today's set time is 6:25pm to 7:10pm, so we will see a greatly shortened setlist. grandson performs on the Main Stage earlier in the day, so it's almost guaranteed we will get to see Running From My Shadow again with grandson joining Mike like he did in Philadelphia. While Mike has been playing around with the setlists a lot lately, don't look for super deep cuts at this festival set. However, the tour rolls on to Dallas tomorrow so definitely be keeping your eyes open for that one! Find the Post Traumatic Tour dates here.

Mike Shinoda will perform on The Late Late Show with James Corden on November 1st, 1iota confirms. Fans will remember Linkin Park's appearance on this show in February 2017, with the first full band performances of Heavy and Invisible. Mike's performance will be one day before his Los Angeles show at the Hollywood Palladium on November 2nd. Most bands perform just one song at The Late Late Show, but Linkin Park did indeed perform two... Mike will likely perform his new single Make It Up As I Go but don't be surprised if we see Crossing A Line or something else off of Post Traumatic as well. Thanks to LPA for the heads up on this one!

Unfortunate that Mike didn't play it but it's all good. Yeah it definitely was a slower song in the set for that period of time... the only other slow one really that I saw was PMA Piano but everyone knows PMA since it's on Hybrid Theory. TLTGYA is a phenomenal song and it came off really well live. People sat down on it, sure, but that's because LP had just kicked their ass with 8~ heavy songs in a row haha

Mike’s #PostTraumaticTour visits New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday for the eleventh show of the tour. This will be Mike’s first time performing in New Orleans since April 2003, when Projekt Revolution 2003 stopped in town. Linkin Park shockingly did not perform in NOLA during any tours after the Meteora era. For the Thursday show, fans have begun asking on social media if Mike would perform a version of the song live for New Orleans. On this tour, Mike is performing some fan requests and also changing up the piano versions of songs he performs mid-set during the shows. It is rare for Linkin Park to write a song specifically about a city or location, but The Little Things Give You Away (New Orleans) and Not Alone (Haiti) are two songs of theirs that were written after natural disasters. This would be the first chance Mike has had to perform the song in the city of New Orleans. If you remember the LP Underground 7 album, the version of the song released from Atlanta has Mike asking if anyone was from New Orleans and he dedicates it to them. Chester says about Little Things: "We were writing these harmonies before we went down to New Orleans on the first anniversary of the [Katrina] disaster. And when we were down there, we were talking to these people who lived in the Ninth Ward. One of the lines, about ’water gray, coming through the windows,’ was taken from what one older gentleman told me. The feeling I got down there was not a good one. For my whole life, I was spoon-fed what a great country this is, and I just didn’t get that feeling from that trip. I didn’t understand how we could spend $120 billion a year on killing people in other countries, but we only allocated $1 billion to rebuilding lives here. It really bothered me. … I felt sick about it. So I wrote the lyrics. Mike and I had a discussion, and he said, ’Why don’t you go write about Katrina?’ So I did … and I put it to the melody we had been working on, and it just fit perfectly." In February 2008 on the Minutes To Midnight North American Arena Tour, the band visited New Orleans with Music For Relief and Habitat For Humanity to rebuild homes in the NOLA area. You can even see clips of this visit in the incredible 2017 music video for One More Light. Linkin Park went on to release very good demo version of the song on the LP Underground 9 album, entitled “Drum Song” since the song began with a Rob Bourdon drum idea that is heard in the bridge of the song. Unfortunately, Little Things only stayed in the live sets for Linkin Park for just over a year during Minutes To Midnight’s touring cycle and was dropped after 2008. The song has yet to reappear at all since then despite being one of the strongest songs in the catalog. Are any of you going to the New Orleans show? Would you like to hear Mike perform the song?

Great show review. Wish I could have met up with you! The crowd was SO loud at this show. Surely this is the most intimate venue of the tour with only 1,000~ capacity. Sharp Edges is gorgeous. I had such a great time... the fans at these shows are awesome.

What a show. Cigarettes was epic.
-
I think there are at least three vocal takes on this song. Ultra 2016, with Mike whispering and Chester on the chorus in the background the leaked one on YouTube with full second verse + this official one
-
I'm sorry but they butchered the lyrics on the final one. The demo lyrics were a lot better. Obviously the production in the final release is fantastic but I feel like Mike's first lyrical take was better.

Yeah we can do one after the show outside, let's meet up for sure. Charlotte was so good. It's Goin' Down. New setlist... loved it.

Julien-K Honor Chester in "Time Capsule" Release
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
They do want to release those. Both JK and WBR are working on a release for 2019, according to Ryan. It's in the works. -
My first show of this tour.
-
Valentine's Day, according to the MTM booklet, was a Korn studio song.
-
I think I should try to go to this. I can't believe NYC got an album release show, a headlining regular show, an Apple Store show, and now a radio show. Three actual shows and a stripped down show. Wild.

Soundcheck: Its Goin Down three times

The third show in three days takes Mike's North American Post Traumatic Tour to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania tonight. This will already be the fifth show of the tour and comes as the last northeast show for now before Mike heads down south. This is a city in which Mike has not visited before at all, and is in a theater. It almost is reminiscent of the theaters that Stone Temple Pilots would play with Chester in 2013 and 2014. Last night in Philadelphia was not without its surprises... First of all, Dylan from our team joined Mike on guitar for Roads Untraveled! And grandson made his first guest appearance on Running From My Shadow! The show's soundcheck included Until It Breaks, which could see some action in the show setlists coming up. Maybe tonight it makes its tour debut? Other soundchecked songs this tour include High Road, It's Goin' Down, part of Dedicated, and Sharp Edges. We will see what Mike, Matt and Dan pull out! After this show, Mike heads down to Charlotte on Wednesday for the southeast portion of the tour where we'll have our usual crew at the shows down there. Looking forward to it! To catch up on the tour setlists, soundchecks, and more... visit Mike's tour page.

I'm sure when he wakes up he will have an awesome story haha

He had to go backstage to play on guitar!

Heads up, New York area fans! Mike has confirmed that he will be performing at the Alt 92.3 "Not So Silent Night" on December 6th. The show is held at Brookyln's Barclays Center, which is a venue Mike has yet to play. The lineup includes: Florence + The Machine, Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, AJR, Mike Shinoda, Foster The People, Bastille, and Chvrches. Tickets go on sale on Oct 19th at 10am. Who is going?

2 days in advance

I'd love to see Promises debuted on this tour. It's a great song. Of course I always love the rare stuff like Cigarettes, It's Goin' Down, In Stereo, and Until It Breaks. Maybe 1-2 of those stick around and rotate.
