  1. that was a fucking kick-ass performance by DBS. fuck the haters; that was one hell of a show.
  2. really?! damn, this is news to me. when did he move? i remember only like 2 years ago there was an article on his stalker and it mentioned him living in orange county or something? this is hard to believe, lol. just curious, can i see your source? i don't doubt it, i know that you of all people always back up what you say with facts or a reliable source. edit: got the article, it does say he lives in orange county. so he must have moved recently, but damn that's surprising, lol. http://www.wired.com/entertainment/music/n...5/ff_linkinpark
  3. i'm hoping that since the LPU is so damn awesome now we get the rest of the acoustic tracks and 20 eyes through there. or if there's going to be another single after let down, i hope we get at least one of the songs on it. but i hope that there won't be another single because i want chester to focus only on LP and not have to multi-task. don't get me wrong, i absolutely love the album; i would even go as far to say that some songs on there are better overall than a lot of LP songs, but since the project is such in such an unorganized mess, i'd rather see a new LP record ASAP than wait for the management to get their act together.
  4. never mind this; i got it. i didn't clear my cache, so i couldn't see the download page completely.
  5. where? i don't see it there... i guess i'll wait and let the page fix itself, because it's still all glitchy for me.
  6. does anyone know if the mobile authorization code is up anywhere yet?
  7. agreed... the new site/radio/morning after are all awesome. can't wait until it completely switches over, it's still all glitchy right now, lol.
  8. those backstage vids are pretty cool, they're like acoustic versions of my suffering and 20 eyes. damn, chester sounds really good too.
  9. exactly what i'm thinking. i would think by those tracks he meant no roads left and the various rehearsal tracks that were released on imports of the album.
  10. an acoustic version of morning after.
  11. a-six: this song is pretty fucking cool, but i'd have to say i prefer the shortened version over this; this one has too many extended parts and is too long, imo. however, i will say the "chorus" is really cool, especially how it transitions into the "verse." i'm lovin' the joe hahn on here. i kinda wish this had lyrics on it. lovin' the raw drums, don't really like the guitar tone too much. 7/10 faint: this one's alright, i was kinda hoping for it to be really different musically. the rapping is pretty good, but nothing amazing. i do like the rawness in mike's voice though. overall, i was basically hoping for it to be more different musically. 6/10 sad: this one's really fucking awesome. i'm going with this being the initial "seed" for by myself, like someone said. i'm loving the synth/drum intro, and how it builds and grows into something completely different. unlike most people, i really like this one, even though it doesn't have vocals. 9/10 fear: i really love the melody in the verse. i wish they kept that melody on the album version, but with chester's vocals. don't really like the scatted rapping, but love the one line that is lyrics. i'm not sure if the rapping would have made a good pre-chorus for the album version; i think they might have made a good choice by putting singing there. honestly, i think mike is straining too much in the chorus for me to enjoy it too much, but the melody is pretty cool. love the scatted bridge, but i don't like how it's repeated. i really like how the cello is turned up a lot in the end. 8/10 figure.09: HOLY SHIT. this track is one of the heaviest i've heard by LP, mainly because it's so raw. i love the scratching, the raw drum tone, and the pre-chorus is fucking incredible. chorus is alright, and bridge just blows me away. i can't really tell, but is that a falsetto harmony harmonizing in the bridge? whatever it is, it sounds really cool. i'm really loving the joe hahn on here, and that are epic screams by chester in the bridge. i think they sound more epic because they're so raw. amazing scream at the end. 9/10 stick and move: like others, this one is my least favorite. it's mainly just the beat of stick and move put on repeat, and in higher quality. trying to forget i'd heard it before though, i've gotta say the song is just alright. kind of a cool sample, but overall nothing amazing. 5/10 across the line: a really fucking cool track. it's really unique; i love the lyrics and the chorus and the structure and pretty much the whole track, lol. once again, raw drums ftw; they sound amazing on here. it's such a simple beat, but the tone of the drums just makes it incredible. the lyrics are awesome; i love how they're so wordy but still flow together so well. the buildup is epic, i love the bridge. it was really cool to hear the scatting that was originally "japan," i had forgotten that this was the same track until i heard that part. epic piano outro too, i really like it. 9/10 drawing: i had my hopes up too high for this one. i was hoping for a drastically different instrumental than breaking the habit, which isn't what we got. all this has is some extended parts and more samples. overall, it's really similar to BTH. second "verse" up until the end is way too chaotic for my taste, so this track didn't live up to the unrealistic expectations i had set for it. but as a song itself, it's beautiful. first verse still amazes me. 7/10 drum song: AMAZING. hands down, my favorite track off the EP. i really love this one, there's some parts i would have kept on the album version. the intro with the drum buildup and piano crush the album version's intro imo. i would have kept the first two verses the way they are in this demo than they were on the album. the guitar in the chorus is really cool too, i love it. the "post-chorus" part right before the last chorus before the breakdown is amazing too imo, i would have kept that too. i love the harmonies in the outro too. this is such an amazing song, i'm so glad we got it. 10/10
  12. what i got from her post is that she IS uploading the tracks, but her computer is slow. anyway, i've asked her to pm it to me, and when i get them, i'll send the links to mark and he'll be able to take care of it.
  13. btw for anyone wondering, i don't think it's at many best buy's... i went yesterday to buy hybrid theory for a friend's b'day party and looked for it and it wasn't there.
  14. can someone PM me the acoustic let down? it's amazing; i like it better than the album version. the one in nameless's sig can't be downloaded anymore by free users.
  15. haha, called it, but i kinda wish it was those versions recorded in the studio. and i'm kinda skeptical about it coming out next week, lol.
  16. because rob said that they stopped working on grecian, and japan was nothing more than a vocal demo. they're not going to put incomplete songs on an LPU cd, especially when they have one that's more or less completed (strings are the last thing to put on a song, usually, so we know that that song is pretty much done). still, it might not be "the 6th strings song," but it won't be japan or grecian.
  17. it's not going to be japan or grecian, but my hopes for "the 6th string song" just shot through the roof.
  18. i really hope we do... that one sounded epic from the 2-second clip we heard of it.
  19. i call complete bullshit, especially since you have no source, credible or not.
  20. apparently, those are coming, which is a great thing because i agree with everyone that the acoustic one was far superior in terms of an emotional performance.

    DBS tabs

nice job, you pretty much nailed fire; the only thing i'm not sure about is during the intro, whether it's 2 parts with one as you've tabbed here, and one tremolo picking 16th notes on G an octave lower, but it's hard to tell with all the delay on it.
  22. FIRE - 8/10 a cool guitar intro into the heavy drum/guitar part. i really like the lyrics, and when the keyboard comes in i get really choked up over the lyrics. there's tons of emotion and some beautiful harmonies. the bridge is well done too. however, i don't really like the chorus. it sounds really cliche and boring, but the lyrics don't disappoint. i feel like the bridge would have been magnificent if there were some more emotion put into the words. overall a solid track, however. CRAWL BACK IN - 7/10 nothing amazing here, but nevertheless a decent track. it's a good "pump-up" song, but i'm not a huge fan of it. chester does have some solid screams in here though, and unlike many others, i am a huge fan of the guitar solo. i also like the structure, how the chorus doesn't come in for a while. TOO LATE - 8/10 i love the intro. there are some cool keyboards/synths here, and i love the mellow vocals. the lyrics are alright, i love the simplicity of the lyrics in the chorus, but i can tell it will be hated on by many. i really love the vocal melody of the chorus. i really love the piano in the last chorus, i wish it was turned up more in the mix. i think the production on this track kills it for me, an acoustic or live version of this song would probably amaze me. overall, however, this song reminds me too much of 'leave out all the rest.' INSIDE OF ME - 8/10 solid song. i love the chorus and bridge; i can tell this is going to be an awesome live track. cool guitar solo too. there are some really strong screams in here too. but i don't like the verses too much, and i wish it was longer. again, it also reminds me too much of LP (given up) to truly amaze me. LET DOWN - 10/10 i love this song. the synths and industrial feel of the intro make it for me; i love the drum sample that repeats throughout the song. i was blown away when i heard the falsetto part after the first chorus; it is truly incredible. the overproduction isn't a problem in that part, but i don't like the layered second verse (production-wise). i also think that the first chorus shouldn't have had distorted guitars, it should have been done acoustically or through synths. but the distortion should definitely have been brought in later, because the bridge/guitar solo are fucking amazing. i also would have liked it better if there was as much emotion put into the vocals as there was in the acoustic version, but i can see how that would have sounded better in an acoustic version. an understandable change. i still like the acoustic version from 2005 better, but this song is definitely one of my favorites. GIVE ME YOUR NAME - 9/10 a very different kind of song for chester. i really love how the vocals are introduced as raw, but end up growing. there are some beautiful lyrics, vocals and harmonies here, along with some very complementing keyboard samples. i'm not a huge fan of the guitar, but i love the acoustic guitar ending. i really like the production on this too, i don't think the overproduction which is present on most of this album is much of an issue here. this is a beautiful song, and i can imagine it working well acoustically. MY SUFFERING - 9/10 this song just kicks ass, lol. it's another good "pump-up" song. i absolutely love the double bass, especially at the end of the bridge where elias just goes crazy. i also love the drum sample in the beginning of the song, and there is cool production on the vocals in the first verse. overall, a solid track. i originally wasn't a huge fan of the guitar intro, but it grew on me a lot. also, the screams in the choruses are fucking awesome. i think the screams feel more powerful if they are the only screams in the song. as opposed to most people, i like this version better than the club tattoo one from last year. CONDEMNED - 7/10 i'm not into this kind of music at all, but for what it is, this song is pretty epic. the lyrics are really dark, and i can imagine this song in a horror movie and working well, lol. there are some epic screams in here, but the track's length and style aren't really my thing. INTO YOU - 10/10 another one of my favorites on the album. a really nice guitar/drum intro followed by soothing vocals singing beautiful lyrics. i love how chester's voice isn't overproduced on this track, it sounds amazing raw like this; it really suits the track well. i love how it grows, the distorted guitars (which i would think won't complement this song well) are actually very well-done, accompanied by a very passionate vocal performance. a magnificent track; i will be recording a cover of this, lol. END OF THE WORLD - 6/10 not my style at all. i don't really like chester's flow or vocal style in this song much, nor do i really like the julien-k style intro. good lyrics though, while kept short and simple, they do the track justice. the ending is really cool too, although i'm sure a lot of people don't like it much, lol. WALKING IN CIRCLES - 10/10 one hell of a song. like most people predicted, the album version of this song is fucking epic. again, chester's vocals are introduced raw and unaccompanied by production, sounding very powerful in a different kind of way. the lyrics are very well done and unique, and i love the guitar/drum intro. i love the guitar solos, but i have to say the live version from club tattoo had better guitar solos. i actually like the layered vocals in the second verse, they sound good after listening to the raw first verse. the final choruses have amazing backing vocals and harmonies; overall this track is fucking legendary. IN THE DARKNESS - 10/10 this track is probably the most unique on the album, and is done amazingly well. i love the acoustic intro, but i've got to say that the beat-boxing is fucking weird, lol. still, it adds to the uniqueness of this track. i love the vocal style, the dark, sexy feel, and the lyrics. i can feel myself smiling when listening to the lyrics, lol. after listening to the live acoustic version this summer, i have to say i'm more into that version, but this version is fucking solid as well.
  23. there is a rumor that it leaked. i have been checking some torrents; all were fake as far as i could tell.
  24. i am LOVING the mellow songs on this record. too late, let down, give me your name, into you, walking in circles, and in the darkness all sound fucking amazing. i can't wait for this album!
