  1. yeah I guess HT was the first. It's pretty standard, although I feel like Mike has a lot of clean-up on his vocals, he never seems to be able to hit any of the notes he can magically do on record so... yeah...
  2. when did they start using this? and when did they start using it live? Rock Am Ring is hilarious to listen to..
  3. Final Masquerade's string parts sound oddly like In Between..
  4. does anyone else hear the synth effect(?) in the pre-verse/post-chorus section of Final Masquerade that sounds like a metallic gust of wind (I literally don't know how else to describe it) it's kind of like a whirring noise? it's one single note that harmonises with the guitar on that long strummed part of that section in the song. (1.07m -1.10m in the instrumental) what I want to know is, is there a term for the effect it has on the guitar line? I guess it's to do with the sounds' volume increase but it sort of drags the note along with it, gives it momentum?
  5. not sure if this a bug or part of the redesign, but, rules/regs missing from "site" dropdown on forum index (dark theme, chrome)
  6. but you get my point, with no DSPs, they're no longer having to cater (to some tiny degree) to others who weren't there. I mean, wasn't the whole point of the DSP to showcase some of the varied setlists from the 2007/8 tour?
  7. well now that there's no DSPs, maybe they don't feel like they need to make each show 'unique'
  8. surely nothing can be worse than that godawful outro solo on faint?

  10. Remember, EU DVDs may not function properly in a US DVD player. Region codes and NTSC stuff is designed to stop people buying films from overseas prior to "local" release dates.I'm not sure how blu ray works but this is definitely something to bear in mind with a DVD version
  11. London would have been easier for me to get to but the tickets were more expensive. classic southern england
  12. any 'last minute' ticket company has insane prices. stub hub, get me in, etc. play on people's desperation.
  13. this. the UK's public transport system is awesome, even if it's a little expensive sometimes. I live nowhere near Manchester, but I've become rather good at being my own tour manager
  14. 2014-11-22 - Manchester 2014-11-23 - London 2014-11-24 - London only 3 dates, so 1 thread seems fine. who's in?
  15. Manc booked. not massively enthused by the fact a single gig is costing me >£100 in total, but I suppose that's my choice. it'll be my first time seeing the band in an arena, so that should be cool, I way prefer indoor venue's acoustics
  16. yeah the "footage shot across 2 dates" bugs me too. it's nicer to know which a/v is from which date.

  18. reposting because it seems to need re-iterating

Format: DVD / 2.73 GB Comments: Incomplete, only 'One Step Closer', 'Lying From You', 'No More Sorrow', 'Papercut', 'Given Up', and 'Don't Stay' were recorded in full, 'In the End', 'Crawling' and 'The Little Things Give You Away' are completely missing, and all remaining songs were either partially recorded or recorded in little sections. Video is a mix of screen taping and distant stage taping, cam audio has some unwanted noise, and the DVD files have been poorly structured. 20. yes, it's important tot make the distinction between festivals and their own live shows. with festivals there are always people who've paid to be there but might not necessarily care about the headliner, or might only know say... their older material
  21. you're right, this is just one event, but certainly for UK audiences, HT/M is what LP are really known for. it annoys me too that alot of people don't look beyond those two albums but it happens, certainly on this side of the pond. I think the success of later albums is of course due to the material released, but I often feel that their recent successes stem from the fact that they're simply a well-established act. you're correct to say the market is totally different, and it might just be me being a bit reductive of the situation, but.. I dont know.. it's only my little opinion
  22. all I'm saying is that most people were there to hear Hybrid Theory, they weren't interested in the other, newer stuff. it's a nostalgia thing - "man, I loved this song when I was X years old" - I heard stuff along those lines all weekend.. Burn It Down went down like a lead balloon for that crowd If it weren't for Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I don't think they'd be headlining festivals or touring well, casual fans come back to see them live for what they used to be, and festival/tour organisers know they can basically print money off the back of that
