  1. Why do I get the feeling we will see soon a thread like this: "Blackout is the 'New School' reincarnate of Figure.09...." that entails a story of a personified Figure.09 fighting hordes of Nazis and other bad guys, in the end, sacrificing itself, and, like a phoenix rises from the ashes, Blackout, too, rose from the ashes.
  2. To be honest, I don't like the clips. From what I've heard through them, the songs seem like they will be pretty damn awesome, I just think the clips aren't the best. i.e. - Waiting for the End preview was better than 30 second clip now.
  3. "but in the end, it doesn't even " you fail at using "old-skool" LP lyrics to prove your point LP said ATS will be completely different than what we've heard before, the clips are enough to prove that much. Also You do realize that except for Empty Spaces, and the interludes, 30 seconds is a TINY TINY portion of the songs
  4. I believe you mean to say "just imagine Chester going absolutely ape-shit...." I think a lot of audience participation on Blackout
  5. This is what I've been hoping for. I've known LP will never do HT or M again, and I wasn't expecting ATS to be anything like HT, M, or MTM. The one thing I wanted was the quality put into HT and M that was missing in MTM, put into ATS. It's different, holding full judgment until I hear the album, but from what I've heard, LP delivered. Really looking forward to Iridescent
  6. It's not just you. This shirt would've been so much cooler if it just had the fallout cover image. Or even at most the Linkin Park at the top. Making it into a box makes it look cheap
  7. iTunes has the option "part of continuous album" I don't see the logic behind the Full experience....
  8. that's Refugee by Tribal Ink think lower quality Linkin Park wannabes Don't You Push Me is a good song though, but that's about it along with Refugee
  9. I don't know what to say, other than, "What the hell was that?"***** ****Other than pure epic epicness, of course
  10. Sooo looking forward to The Requiem now Iridescent still looks like it may be epic
  11. wow, so I'm not a complete idiot for not being able to find the shoutbox once I logged in...
  12. 1) The typo thing, THAT is the part you look at? 2) Nah, the lyrics haven't moved on from "SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU" to a song that is about something that happened about 70 years ago, what those people must've thought, but without seeming like a cheesy history song./end sarcasm (I do agree with you) Maybe The Catalyst doesn't have the element of being instantly able to be related to like previous songs, but that doesn't mean it lacks meaning. The Chester only lyrics "When I close my eyes......bleed into the sky" are a very well written description of witnessing the testing. The Mike/chant lyrics, to me, are the witnesses' thoughts along the lines of "what are we really getting ourselves into?" or "should we really be allowed to play God?". So basically, repenting on Judgment Day. Also, if you mean that the repetition of few lyrics means lack of meaning: 1) Repetition can be very effective to make sure things that are said/sung really hit home 2) Anyone else think this is like an evolved Session/Wake track? Throughout the entire track, it just seemed something like Mr Hahn probably called the shots on the track and put what he wanted of the others in. Side note, Ash, I've agreed with multiple other posts you've posted recently, thought I'd let you know.
  13. Well, you know, there were a lot of entries, and those entries represented a small portion of those who probably voted. Statistically, the idiots, biased fans, and zombie pedobears would present such a small effect on the final ranking that they could be dismissed, allowing the results to be presented with confidence that the #1 entry was indeed #1. This would also mean that it would be the most sell-able track.
  14. I found a clip on YouTube that GameTrailers.com had posted about the Medal of Honor Tier 1 Trailer. It's pretty short, but shows a couple different scenes for the trailer being filmed, and of course, Mr Hahn himself. Here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ-wFDalJAY...player_embedded Source: GameTrailers.com / MrMtzGdo
  15. I'd imagine it's a comment to prevent backlash on themselves (the people doing the interview). If they round up, say 50 minutes, and the album isn't that long, people that have read this article will be all pissy-assed. At most, I think it just confirms the "between 45-50 minutes" length.
  16. I don't really like the remix, yadda yadda, better mixes out there, etc etc. I think LP should've just done the #1 by fan votes, just sayin'. On the topic of Alex and his "girlfriend" (i.e. random shitters that like to pretend to be other people and create fake accounts to do so), I couldn't help but thinking of this: http://xkcd.com/591/ I can see this coming soon to all the newswire threads (used alex & his "gf" as example): "Alex's GF" :: "ZOMG I Lurrv Lincoln Park! I'm probably their biggest fan! Shadow of the Day is their best song ever!!!1!" "Alex" :: "My favorite's Faint." "Alex's GF" :: "Say wut now?" What's sad is I actually had a conversation like this with this girl right when SOTD's music video was released.... >.<
  17. That's what I'm guessing will be the most likely scenario, I'm just really hoping to get to hear this song somehow before I leave Sunday for a few days. I was planning on doing what I did with OOA and getting the leak beforehand, then buying the hard copy when it finally does release.
  18. According to their Twitter page, TheMixShowDJ, this tweet was posted at about 12:17 am today (7/29/2010). "We will debut the all new Linkin Park track "Catalyst" live at 9:20p pst on www.themixshow.com!!! #Linkinpark #Newmusic #mixtape about 1 hour ago via web" Thoughts?
  19. I think this preview has completely thrown away any uncertainties I've had about this song - mainly trying to figure out how all the pieces would fit together without sounding like it was put together by someone with extreme ADHD. To me, this song seems like it may have the style of Across the Line did, where it starts out low-key and simple, then keeps building and adding and becoming more complex. The 34 second preview had me a little worried that LP's new direction may've lost touch with the core "we may change the styling of the songs but we'll always have that consistent feeling that you'll know this is a Linkin Park song" but hearing Chester start in, the drums, and just everything in the MOH trailer assured me that they still have that basic epicness. Another thing that I was hoping wouldn't be lacking is the song/album's ability to be blasted through the car speakers with the windows down and rocking out. Though my favorite tracks are others, "Don't Stay" "Papercut" and "Given Up", IMO, have been the best examples of what I mean. The few remixes for The Catalyst I downloaded and played through my car just didn't seem to have that rock-out feel to them. Before you get on me about that, yes I realize they're completely different than the final song, but they were all I had to go on. This latest preview and the mp3 that combined everything definitely has that quality to it - I can't wait for the full version now more than ever. Also, just throwing this out there, The Catalyst (to the best of my knowledge) has not leaked, yet there was a news story about 90,000 military secrets leaking.....so Linkin Park has done better keeping stuff from leaking than the US military. Shinoda/Bennington 2012 anyone?
  20. dude, I think every post you've had in the past few weeks about the new album, cover, previews, new sound, etc has been exactly what I've thought. For future threads on the Newswire, dromani22's comments and opinions count twice. Now for the preview - definitely not their old stuff, not even MTM, so happy about that, but a small part of me still wishes/hopes a Faint-esque song will appear on ATS I'm also glad Mr Hahn's back big time. Definitely missed his scratching from Meteora. Does anyone think this heavier electronic influence to the sound may be because of Julien-K? I've always thought of them "like Linkin Park but more electronic sounding." Either way, as long as this album doesn't turn into a collection of songs with 5 lines of lyrics repeating 57 times to the same beat (which I know won't happen) I'm all for it.
  21. That's what I want - an original sounding album, but one that you can instantly recognize as Linkin Park by the feel of the song, not by Chester's vocals. When "What I've Done" came out, I had no idea that it was LP until I searched the lyrics. While it's a great song imo, it wasn't immediately recognizable. If the new album has a mix of tracks similar to LOATR, Faint, Don't Stay, What I've Done, and Across the Line, I feel it can have some great potential. I'd like to see more Mike rapping that isn't HHH style, more of Mr. Hahn, and the return of the HT/Meteora Chester scream, not the MTM scream.
