We haven't bridge and chorus part.

Technically, those parts are in the short version. You could use what is supposed to be the chorus of the short version to use for the long version chorus and bridge.

Edit: Never mind about the bridge part. There's not really a part of the song in there that could be considered a part of the bridge.

I don't believe it is the short made it to the long version. If yes, that would be the best song from the Lost Demos. It's huge shame that they didn't finished A.06 with amazing polished guitars from short version. That would be big banger, especially the bridge.

I'm pretty sure that you could make a long version of A.06 similar to the original long version pretty easily. It would have to be matched up perfectly, though. I'm pretty sure it could be done, considering that A.06 has all the parts that the long version has, just shorter, I think.

@NJPLP I found an interesting article:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/10/arts/music/linkin-park-meteora-chester-bennington.html

So, we both know Lost is not a demo and that's a good thing. here's the interesting part:

They revived Fighting Myself and More The Victim (which are nearly done). so that meanss FM and MTV are also not demos (but let's just wait, see, and hear once its released by analyze the sound quality).

Note: in case if you can't read the article due to the "sign in or sign up" crap, just save it as a pdf via whatever browser you're using.

Oh and good job on the bass, instrumental, and acapella of Lost on your YT. what's the name of the program?

I tried uploading the full version of "Linkin Park - Lost (Strings and Guitar Only)" originally and the full original instrumental I made using different sites but they were copyright blocked due to the intro in both videos, so I removed the intro from both of them. This strings and guitar multitrack worked. Unfortunately, though, the instrumental is still copyright blocked due to part of the chorus. I don't know how to get it to work without it copyright blocking the instrumental.

Also, I made the all the multitracks with Moises (https://moises.ai) except for the instrumental, which I made with Vocal Remover (https://vocalremover.org/).

Additionally, I already knew about that article, lol.

  4. I don't understand why the music video for "Lost" is getting all the hate because it's made by AI. I honestly think that the music video for the song is very cool, amazing, and beautiful. All the scenes from the music video of "Somewhere I Belong", the music video of "Breaking The Habit", The Making Of Meteora DVD, The Art Of Meteora documentary, The Making Of Breaking The Habit video, the Live In Texas live performances, and the music video of 'New Divide', it's all very cool. This, pretty obviously, reminds me of the music video for "Breaking The Habit" with the anime vibes from it. This music video definitely gives me nostalgia, making me think back to when I originally watched some of these music videos, The Art Of Meteora, and the making ofs.

Because that is simply wrong. We have no idea how that 300 shows in one year thing started (at least I don't know) but it makes no sense and is not true and I am pretty sure that even the band realised that at one point. I vaguely remember that they admitted in an interview that while they played a shit load of shows, it wasn't 300. So I am surprised that Mike is coming back with that wrong trivia.

I think he mentioned it when the band was reacting to the Canes Bar & Grill San Diego show from 2001 back in March 2020.

There are extracts of an interview with Mike (found it in the New York Times), where it's revealed that "Fighting Myself" and "More the Victim" are also near completed songs.

Mike finished the mixing of "Fighting Myself" last year, while "More the Victim" is a demo near completion. Each of them would display a different side of the band. Cool Stuff!

Where are these extracts of the interview on New York Times?

  7. Has anyone seen the recent KROQ interview with him with him talking about "Lost"? I found some interesting information that he spoke about. He said this about "Lost": "Well, "Lost" was like, "Lost" at the time, if I remember right, it was a long time ago, so I think the vibe on that, there's, there's a vibe of, like, the, the inspiration for it was looking back on things that are, like, you get memories that you just sucked into. Right? And you get immersed in that nostalgia, or good feeling or bad feeling or whatever, in the case of this song, I think there was a bunch of not so good stuff, but, um, it's, but it's bittersweet, it's a mixed bag because there's good stuff in there too, like, no things aren't black and white or cut and dry and that's the complex, that's what I like about the song, the, the lyrics of the song, um, but it's also a song that, it was this close to being on the record. So, when you, when you make an album, you make, if you're gonna end up with 12 songs, you might have made 20 something songs more, and at some point, you put them in kind of an order of, like, this is, these are the best ones, and then from there it goes down, and the one right on the other side of the line was this song "Lost", and the only reason it didn't go on  is because it sounded, it had the same, like, intent in intensity as "Numb", and so we were like "Oh, we've already got that song, so we're gonna keep "Numb", we're gonna lose "Lost"."

He said this about "Fighting Myself": "There's a song called "Fighting Myself" in this batch as well and I always remember that song as having two verses and no chorus. That's as far as we got with it. And then our manager pulled out, found a copy of it, they're like "send it to me, like Mike, listen to this." And it had a chorus on it, and I was like "Wait, I don't remember doing this chorus. Do we have more, like where, where is that, what is that song? Do we have multi-tracks?", and he was like "I think we found them all" and he found the, the session with the multis. Um, they were like exports, so I brought, I got to take them in the computer and pick through what was there and we had the makings of a chorus that was like 90% done. To the listener, it's done. To me, I knew we had more further to go, but I was like "You know, I, I could like re-record some of my verses and make the lyrics better and improve the song or whatever", but yeah that's not what this is about, this is about, this is about 2003 or whatever."

    Here's the video:

  8. What is Mike saying after Chester sings "I'm trapped in yesterday"? On Genius, it says he's saying "This is how it will be", but I feel like I'm hearing something else, though, I can't tell what he's saying. It sounds like "Just to never be", though, I'm not too sure.

Edit: I think he's saying "Just a memory", though, again, I'm not too sure.

When Lost release on Friday, use dictation via MS Word, its super awesome to dictate the lyrics. Once its done, you can edit carefully.

Someone already beat me to it, lol.

Also, you were wrong on the lyrics "I've carried this weight for too long... Disassociated, unappreciated. And everything I've hated, keeping me so jaded. I look into the mirror, and I hate what I see. All my lifes disfuction, alive in front of me" being in "Lost". Those lyrics aren't even in the song, lol.

That’s bold. I don’t know how much I think it sounds like later than MTM LP. I think ATS and on have a more “new” sound to them, electronically. Lost doesn’t really give me any THP or OML vibes.

In my opinion, Lost really does have the sound to a good late 90s-early 2000s rock song in the chorus as far as some of the keyboard sounds go, and the echo effect on the guitar, like some other tracks on Meteora have too, like BTH’s clean guitar.

Also, Lost does have 2 guitars in it. I wonder if Astat will eventually do a cover of it. I don’t know if he’s still doing covers, but he’s got the sound.

I’ve already figured out (I think) the guitar for Lost. The only problem is while I play guitar, I absolutely cannot write out guitar tabs but I’ll try to do my best to make it make sense.

(number are written in the order of string 6 to 1)

    tuning: standard LP drop Csharp

    song key: C Major

    tempo: 105 4/4 time signature

    D pwr chord (1,1,1,0,0,0) , F pwr chord (4,4,4,0,0,0) , C pwr chord (6,4,6, 0, 0, 0) G pwr chord (6,6,6, 0, 0, 0)

    other guitar:

    A octave (high) (0, 0, 8, 0, 11, 0)

I guess it’s played the same way as the octave guitar part on “Crawling” but this time never switches notes.

@HFL377 mentioned that the song is in the key of B minor but he thought the guitars were tuned to Drop C#.

Lost has that sound to it that leans more toward Meteora but also sounds a bit like an MTM demo. It was probably early influence for the album, similar to the “Attached” demo. It’s strange though too because it also has a kind of Hybrid Theory singing style Chester does too. It’s like all three eras in one song.

It reminds me a lot of “modern” LP too, some In my remains vibes

I think it has all 7 of the studio album eras mixed into one song. It's a demo from the Meteora era, it has a kind of Hybrid Theory singing style that Chester does, as @IWillWalkAway mentioned, it has "In My Remains' vibes, as @STRANGELOVE92 mentioned, it sound a bit like a MTM demo, as @IWillWalkAway mentioned, it kind of also has a ATS singing style, similar to "Burning In The Skies", "Waiting For The End", or "Iridescent", in my opinion, it kind of also has a OML singing style, and it kind of also has "Until It's Gone" and "Final Masquerade" vibes too, in my opinion.

New snippet here we go y'all

    https://vocaroo.com/1gl5Zamo57a8

It sounds like it's a part of the bridge based off the instrumental sounding exactly like the instrumental in the chorus from the other snippet/teaser. Anyways, here's the lyrics from this new snippet:

    [Chester Bennington]

I try to keep this pain

    Inside my mind

    That'll never be alright

    I-

It sounds like at the end, because it cuts off, that it most likely repeats again.
