Is true that the xero song that Dave Garrett showed is actually a demo of dialate? I was told so

No, that's not true. The actual name of the song is unknown, though it could be either "Dreamer" or "Weight", but it's not confirmed if it is either one of those demos. The only confirmation we could get on if that Xero demo that Dave Garrett showed along with "Deftest" is either "Dreamer" or "Weight" is if someone asks Jeff Blue about it, since the photo of the cassette with those two demos come from his book.

This is a cropped photo of the 3-track cassette demo, that also includes "Rhinestone". The original photo is of 3 different Xero cassette demos.

It sounds like he is talking about the rap part at the end of And One. I guess it was its own track at one point. Explains why And One was performed live without it.

If that is the case, that's really interesting that they separated them into two different tracks. I wonder though, did they only do this once (I mean with them separating the track and the outro into two tracks), because on the Hybrid Theory demos that date back to January and February 2000 (the ones that have been circulating for years), "And One" still has the rap outro. Those demos were created after the other Hybrid Theory EP with "Kids" and "And Two" (I think the other Hybrid Theory EP dates back to sometime after the original Hybrid Theory EP [the one with the two babies]).

And on the original Hybrid Theory EP (which dates back to, my guess, July 1999, based off Jeff Blue's book, and, most likely, before the other Hybrid Theory EP I mentioned before), "And One" also has the rap outro (obviously, lol).

Also, has Jeff been asked or even confirmed if "And Two" is just the rap outro to "And One"?

Well since "Kids" is apparently a demo of "Dedicated", i would assume it's similiar. And this is the only mention of "And Two" that I could find so i'm pretty sure that this one simply might not exist

edit: Supposedly the second one is mentioned here, but i'm not sure at which point in the video so it might be a thing. It probably sounds like whatever they were working on at the time

"And Two" is mentioned at 5:27 in the video as the outro of the demo CD.

When was the last time he mentioned anything about that? I remember hearing months ago that we'd be getting everything in the coming months and we've so far had nothing.

Possibly not at all? Yeah its been like 5 months and nothing, I wonder if it got shutdown or something since it's been a long while since it was mentioned.

Someone commented on one of his Instagram posts about if he was still going to do it and he replied with this:

yessss lots projects & family took months but I will finally have time to begin that. Most likely start in few months!

From what Jeff told Sinful Soul (the person who commented), he assuming that it's going to happen before the end of the year or early next year in 2024.

It's after "with thoughts of failure sinking in" turn it up really loud and put it up close to your ear It's around 1:16 and 2:03 you can also hear it in the Vocal Double also there's others things you can hear after Chester's Vocals ends most get cut off like milliseconds after and I think you can hear a click or drum or the beat around 1:06 after he sings "It's all too much to take in"

    I can hear it now.

Yeah I noticed this awhile back when I was listening to the By Myself Multitrack it's hard to hear cause Mike's Vocals over lap it plus I think you can hear the clicking also slightly also you can hear Mike slightly in Chester's Main Vocal "If I turn my back"

I don't hear Mike in the Chester vocals. I don't know why, but I don't hear him in the vocals track (whichever one it is).

  7. Actually, I've known for a while that someone uploaded a longer version of the "Much Too Easy "By Myself"" demo:

But, I've also discovered something else about the demo from the Mike vocals multitrack. It seems that (almost) the whole track exists, in a way. Here's a couple different amplified versions I made of the Mike vocal multitrack that has the demo (ignore Mike's loud and glitched vocals): https://voca.ro/16hC5pG36v8y

    https://vocaroo.com/1jI8fkRNzs0h

If you listen very closely, it sounds like you can hear some backing track of the demo behind Mike's vocals, and if you listen closely during the pre-chorus, you can hear extra Chester vocals from the demo.

Maybe it was the quality of the version on Hulu that kept me from noticing before, but having just got my CD/DVD today (had to be shipped from my house to my dorm), I hear some extra music in the documentary. I thought I'd make a thread about when in the DVD it plays, if for no reason other than just having it in writing (or typing).

    1. 5:20 - 5:30: Chester screaming vocals and Rob drumming.

    2. 5:30 - 5:40: Mike on harmonica and I believe Phoenix on piano.

These two just seem very unstructured and more experimentation/random jamming than actual demos or b-sides, but you never know.

    3. 9:25 - 9:36: What sounds like Brad (I assume) playing an acoustic melody. It's playing under Chester speaking. This is one of my favorite "other" pieces of music from the DVD.

    4. 15:21 - 15:25: Mid-tempo electronic beat. Brad seems kind of "eh" about it. Also, Mike says "let's listen to the 5 and see what we think," meaning this song must have been a fairly new idea at this point.

    5. 15:34 - 15:39: Slowish Mike "donna" melody. One of a "group of five," the groups of songs that LP focused in on and apparently more or less finished. Pretty audible bass.

    6. 15:52 - 15:56: Ambient beat. Another one of a group of five, meaning this one should supposedly be finished or close to it. Definitely another favorite of mine (from what tiny bit there is).

    7. 22:57 - 23:04: Heavy-as-fuck electro beat. This is from a demo Mike was making in the event that Warner was going to tell them that none of their music was right for a first single (like MTM and What I've Done). I'm assuming since they settled on The Catalyst that this was never finished.

    8. 26:25 - 28:31: Ambient piano track. One very interesting thing to note is that at the 26:43 mark, if you listen very closely because this song is playing very subtly, you can hear Mike start to sing,-and then it quickly stops as if the song is on a loop (which I'd imagine it is since it plays in the background for over 2 minutes).

That's it for the unheard music I hear in MOATS. If you guys see anything you think should be changed, say so.

EDIT: I figured since I'm posting about the demos we hear in the documentary, I might as well type up a list of the ones we see on the board.

Left Right, Meadowlands (Waiting For The End), Primo, Sakura, Tinfoil, Mikespiano, Robot Boy, Underbite, and Rygar were the ones I could read.

I know this topic is 12, almost 13 years old at this point, but I had to point out what some of these songs are:

    1. 5:20 - 5:30 is "Left Right".

    2. ? (I don't know what this is).

    3. ? (I also don't know what this is either).

    4. 9:25 - 9:36 is "Debris" (that was also worked on during the 'Minutes to Midnight' sessions, and is a demo that comes from those same album era sessions).

    5. ? (It sounds familiar, though, I can't put my finger on what it actually is).

    6. ? (This one also sounds very familiar, though, again, I can't put my finger on what it actually is).

Edit: I think it's "Robot Boy". It sounds similar to a part in the original song, though, I can't remember what part of the song it is in the song.

    7. ? (I also don't know what this is either).

    8. ? (I also don't know what this is either).

Here are what the "five" songs actually are (of what I know):

    1. 15:28 - 15:35 is "Burning in the Skies" (working title unknown).

    2. Unsure what the song is from 15:35 - 15:40, but it sounds familiar, though, I can't put my finger on what it actually is.

15:41 - 15:44 is "When They Come for Me" (Dingleberry), though, I don't think that's a part of the "five".

    3. 15:44 - 15:49 is "Wretches and Kings" (Rygar).

    4. 15:50 - 15:53 is "Blackout" (Pacmanny).

    5. Unsure what the song is from 15:53 - 15:57, but it also sounds familiar, though, again, I can't put my finger on what it actually is.

Edit: I think it's "Robot Boy". It sounds similar to a part in the original song, though, I can't remember what part of the song it is in the song.

I'm thinking that the top 5 on the song board that are underlined with orange marker (Pacmanny, Rygar, Underbite, Robot Boy, and Mikespiano) are the "five" that Mike was talking about, but that's what I was only thinking. I could be wrong.

There is a clip in an LPTV of Brad playing something on piano, and Phoenix mentions it held the working title “Knuckles”. This makes me wonder if Knuckles might be Numb’s demo title or something (the tune sounds not much like Numb but who knows). 99% sure it’s not, probably a totally different Meteora-era demo. But again who knows.

I have a feeling you might be thinking a little too much into this one, lol. To me, it sounds like something Brad did as a joke, just like how Mike played a guitar joke song of sorts that's shown in the footage of the Making of Meteora.

Then again, who knows. We got "Resolution", which shares it's instrumental with "The Wizard Song", which is a joke song itself.

Also, I wonder if this is an actual song, or just something Mike played.

It's seen in the Making of Meteora, as well as in one of the Meteora LPTV episodes. I might just be thinking too much into this as well, so, you might not be the only one who's looking too much into this kind of stuff, lol.

  12. Is it just me, or am I seeing another coincidence with "Fighting Myself" and "Papercut"?

We all know that the working title of "Figure.09" ("Plaster 2"/"Plaster II") is a reference to the "One Step Closer" demo name of "Plaster", which is also referring to the intro riff in the song. And because of that, I can basically be said that "Figure.09" is the sequel to "One Step Closer". We also know that "Fighting Myself" is, basically said, the sequel to "Papercut".

But I realized something else that's interesting concerning "Papercut" and "Fighting Myself". The working titles. While they aren't exactly the same, they look very similar to each other. Papercut's working title is "Papercut", while Fighting Myself's working title is "Shortcut". Both working titles are 8 letter words, and they both end with the word "cut".

This was just something interesting that I realized as another very interesting coincidence between the two songs.

Those are the stems. I found another YouTube video from a YouTuber by the name of Relatise playing "More the Victim" on Rock Band 4.

I commented on the YouTube video, asking if he had the stems to the song. He replied back to me with this "Actually, I think I can get them". He also sent me this link: removed

The files are exactly the same as the files from Sloth Demon Dump.

I asked if those are the official stems from Rock Band 4, saying I was just wondering to make sure. He replied back with this: "Correct they are"

Here's my Google Drive link with .mp3 files instead of .ogg files: removed

I converted the audio files from .ogg to .mp3. There is also the notes .midi file, the album art .png file, and the song .ini file.

Never mind about this. Forget this post I made. Sloth Demon Dump messaged me back on his YouTube video of him playing “More the Victim” on Rock Band 4 and he told me this:

welp, after a research I did, the guy that recreated the chart said that the stems are fanmade, so, no, the stems are not from Rock Band 4, unfortunately

The stems I linked are NOT the real stems. Maybe I can find someone and ask them if they could extract the REAL stems from Rock Band 4.

News related to this topic, anyone?

I found a YouTube video of "More The Victim" by Linkin Park being played by a YouTuber by the name of Sloth Demon Dump on Rock Band 3, for some reason (maybe he imported it into the game or something, I don't know).

Fellow YouTuber LACG, of whom I'm pretty sure everyone here is very familiar with, especially with his mashups with Linkin Park and stuff, asked him if he could share the stems. Sloth Demon Dump replied with this: "Sure, here you have it :D

So, apparently this song has been, like, forgotten a long time ago that LP didn't find all tracks so them with Harmonix kinda isolated the song but at the same time used some existing tracks of the song (or well that's my guess of why the stems sounds kinda weird)"

    EDIT: link removed

I don't think they are the official stems, but they sound very cool.

Also, here's the Harmonix site that he was talking about: https://www.harmonixmusic.com/music

If you click on the "go" button, it leads you to this site: https://rbdb.online

I think that's where he isolated the stems that you can find in the Google Drive link.

So the mystery of some of the lyrics from Meteora wall still hasn't been resolved? From the Lost Demos CD from Meteora 20 we only have "Somebody angry broken" in "More the Victim" but other lines are still from unknown songs? To be fair, I thought that all of the lyrics would be finally there. Some of the lines seem like they would fit in "Numb" demo: "I've carried this weight for too long... Disassociated, unappreciated. And everything I've hated, keeping me so jaded" goes well with the rhythm and melody of the verse of "Numb". But there are still some that don't fit anywhere, right?

Maybe there is a way to ask the band what songs these lyrics belong to.

I was thinking that the "and everything I thought it'd be is nothing like is" line is very similar to the "and everything that you thought I would be, has fallen apart right in front of you" line in "Numb".

Also, the "And everything I thought it'd be is nothing like it is” and “Wait ‘til I’m free, I promise you’ll see” lines might just be a small part of a verse, chorus, or bridge of a song, similar to the situation with the line of “Somebody angry (with the word ‘angry’ crossed out) broken" being a lyric in the bridge of "More the Victim".

Additionally, I think that the whole "I've carried this weight for too long... Disassociated, unappreciated. And everything I've hated, keeping me so jaded. I look into the mirror, and I hate what I see. All my lifes disfuction, alive in front of me" line sort of thing is a full verse, chorus, or bridge of a song.
