For Lost, I think I like the sound of the 2002 mix better, but the keyboards in the chorus are louder in the 2023 mix, and I absolutely love that chorus sample, whatever it is, probably something Brad did because of the BBB soundbites clips we’ve heard. I think both mixes are pretty split for me in terms of which one I think sounds better. For the song itself, 2002 mix. The 2023 mix is definitely more emotional though.

I do wonder if the Thoughts That Take Away My Pride demo version actually exists. Be interesting to hear. I’m not counting on it though. The final lyrics were better anyways, though hearing early versions of songs is cool too.

Fighting Myself and More The Victim never got mixed back in the day, but I imagine the original rough mixes wouldn’t sound too different than the ones today. Just judging on Lost, which kept its vibe in the new mix.

And Where the hell is Sick, the Don’t Stay demo!? LPU just Maybe..? Only time will tell but honestly after this release I don’t think we need any more Meteora demos. This 20th Anniversary basically uncovered everything we didn’t know before about Meteora.

You're also forgetting about Nocturnal, the demo of "Nobody's Listening".

I think we now understand what jeff meant by this post in january on instagram!

Yeah, I guess so. Can't wait to hear the Xero demos of "Dreamer" and "Weight", the Xero demo versions of "Carousel", "Step Up", "Slip", and the 1998 version of "Stick N Move", as well as the Mike Shinoda demo of "Pointillism", along with the Hybrid Theory (band) demos of "Ashes", "Turn To Grey", "Flower", and whatever other unreleased demos/demo version of songs from those eras that he has.

Also, he mentioned he would do it over the next few months. Maybe he'll put out the demos and all the stuff in a timely order, and in a specific order, like chronologically by era. Maybe later this month, he'll put out all the stuff from the Xero era that he has, next month he'll put out Hybrid Theory (band) era stuff that he has, and finally, in July, he will put out all the stuff from the early Linkin Park era that he has. That what I was thinking, anyway.

Let me add some things to your above list.

A6 (Meteora|20 Demo) - Virtually identical instrumentally to the LPU9 long version. Just a little rawer/less refined, and with a high-pitched bell like synth in the instrumental choruses and outro that doesn't exist at all in any other version.

Cuidado - Instrunental, but missing the carnival-like sample from the final. Does contain a sample in the choruses that doesn't exist in the final.

Husky - Instrumental super similar to final, but again, less refined.

Interrogation - Lots more reverb, and atmosphere. Strings buried deep in mix of chorus, and the bridge has piano.

Faint (Meteora|20 Demo) - Uses a very similar extended intro to what was found in the LPU9 acetate version. Fun extended outro with powerchords and scratching.

Plaster 2 / Plaster II - No sung vocals from Chester at all. Just rap from Mike. Different lyrics than the LPU9 demo. Bridge has a distorted riff that makes me think of Staind.

Shifter - Rap vocals in verses, singing by Mike in choruses. Lyrics 110% different than From The Inside. Imagery of water, golden colors of dawn, etc.

Are "Faint" (Meteora|20 Demo) and "Plaster 2" / "Plaster II" ("Figure.09" Demo) the same instrumentally as their LPU 9 demo counterparts, or no?

Ok so Massive samples the Amen Break, has a possible lyric reference to Part of Me and the snare sounds like it was sample from RX Queen by Deftones. This track is a huge suprise, very happy about it

    What's the lyric reference?

Here's a list of what we do and don't know about the Lost Demos:

Lost - This is the famous "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" (TTTAMP) track that was first heard in the Making Of Meteroa. Has vocals.

Fighting Myself - This is a demo from the Meteora sessions that Linkin Park worked on, but never fully finished at that time. Has vocals.

More The Victim - This is a more developed version of "Cumulus" with live drums, scratching, and vocals, in which "Cumulus" was the demo version of this song that was released in 2013 as a part of LPU XIII (13).

Massive - Unknown what it truly is at the moment. Has vocals.

Healing Foot - This is the Meteora Rob drum demo heard in the Making Of Meteora. Has vocals.

A6 (Meteora|20 Demo) - This is most likely a version of "A6" with vocals. It's currently unknown what it sounds like, instrumentally wise. Also, it's unknown if the line "Just drag it out, remember" is truly in "A6". Supposedly, the song just has Mike vocals, though, that could be wrong.

Cuidado - This is the demo of "Lying from You". Most likely has vocals, based off it being shown that on the Meteora song board that Chester did partial vocals for "Cuidado", which was shown in the Making Of Meteora.

Husky - This is the demo of "Hit the Floor". Most likely is one of the versions with one of the numerous singing-style choruses done by Mike and Chester, as mentioned in the Meteora booklet. Most likely has vocals because of that.

Interrogation - This is the demo of "Easier to Run". Unknown if it will have vocals or not.

Faint (Meteora|20 Demo) - This is a demo version of "Faint". Unknown if it's the 70 BPM demo version, an earlier version than the LPU 9 demo version, or if it's a more developed version than the LPU 9 demo version. Unknown if it will have vocals or not.

Plaster 2 / Plaster II - This is the demo of "Figure.09". This is most likely the singing verses demo version that did at NRG, as mentioned in the Meteora booklet. Most likely has vocals because of that.

Shifter - This is the demo of "From the Inside". Unknown if it will have vocals or not.

Wesside - Unknown what it truly is at the moment. Unknown if it will have vocals or not. Supposedly, the song is an instrumental, though, that could be wrong.

Resolution - @IWillWalkAway speculates that this is a demo/early version of "Lost". Someone else mentioned that the song is indeed the demo of "Lost". Has vocals

Also, we don't know what these lyrics belong to, in terms of the Lost Demos:

"I've carried this weight for too long... Disassociated, unappreciated. And everything I've hated, keeping me so jaded. I look into the mirror, and I hate what I see. All my lifes disfuction, alive in front of me." - Unknown at the moment.

"And everything I thought it'd be is nothing like it is.” - Unknown at the moment

“Wait ‘til I’m free, I promise you’ll see.” - Unknown at the moment

“Somebody angry (with the word ‘angry’ crossed out) broken." - More The Victim

I found these lyrics in the Art Of Meteora when they shown parts of the Meteora art wall. I made a topic about it a couple years ago:

Update (Edit): New information for some of these songs, though, it could be wrong.

Here's a new updated list from this original post I made a little more than a week ago:

Lost - This is the famous "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" (TTTAMP) track that was first heard in the Making Of Meteroa. Has vocals from Chester and Mike.

Fighting Myself - This is a demo from the Meteora sessions that Linkin Park worked on, but never fully finished at that time. Has vocals from Chester and Mike.

More The Victim - This is a more developed version of "Cumulus" with live drums, scratching, and vocals, in which "Cumulus" was the demo version of this song that was released in 2013 as a part of LPU XIII (13) Has vocals from Chester and Mike.

Massive - This demo is an alternative metal-sounding track. Has vocals from Mike.

Healing Foot - This is the Meteora Rob drum demo heard in the Making Of Meteora. Has vocals from Chester and Mike.

A6 (Meteora|20 Demo) - This is a version of "A6" with vocals. It's currently unknown what it sounds like, instrumentally wise. The line "Just drag it out, remember" is not in this version of "A6". This version has vocals from Mike. The Chester version of the song is still unreleased, however.

Cuidado - This is the demo of "Lying from You". This is an instrumental (no vocals).

Husky - This is the demo of "Hit the Floor". This demo has different rap verses. Has vocals from Mike.

Interrogation - This is the demo of "Easier to Run". This is an instrumental (no vocals).

Faint (Meteora|20 Demo) - This is a demo version of "Faint". This version is a similar, yet different version to the LPU 9 demo version. Has vocals from Mike.

Plaster 2 / Plaster II - This is the demo of "Figure.09". I'm not sure if this is the singing verses demo version that did at NRG, as mentioned in the Meteora booklet, or if it's something completely different, but we'll find out eventually. Has vocals from Mike.

Shifter - This is the demo of "From the Inside". Has vocals from Mike.

Wesside - This demo is a rap-sounding track with a Meteora style sound to it. This is an instrumental (no vocals).

Resolution - @IWillWalkAway speculated that this was a demo/early version of "Lost". It is in fact "The Wizard Song". Has vocals from Mike.

This new list has new information, thanks to @LPAAltwireDerek, who made an article on the Lost Demos tracks when he heard them at the listening party in Spain on March 31st. Here's the topic for that, by the way:

    April 7

But it's going to be on the night of april 6 (Like they did with HT20) or in midnight of april 7?

I’m pretty positive that the whole Meteora 20 release (besides “Lost” and “Fighting Myself”) will be released at 12:00 AM (maybe even a little later after that time). I, however, will be looking out for leaks the day before (April 6th) at around 7, 8, or 9 AM (because it’ll be 12 AM on Friday in New Zealand around 7 AM Thursday my time).

like someone mentioned, there's tons of variations... Healing Foot for example, the version that we are getting doesn't even have live drums...
so it seems to be a very early version of that song, Pre-NRG maybe.

I kinda doubt that. If it was pre-NRG, the song probably wouldn’t have gotten vocals (in which the song does have vocals). I’m thinking that they couldn’t find the session with the NRG live drums, so that they had to stick to the pre-NRG programmed drums.

Then again, we are getting “Shifter (“From The Inside” Demo)”, and that demo is from the pre-NRG sessions (it’s the same version from the ‘Making Of Meteora’, when the band was recording stuff for the album in the back of their Ozzfest bus in 2001), and it has Mike vocals, so, I could be completely wrong, lol. But that’s what I was thinking.

  8. 3 minutes ago, Trumtram said:

Plot twist: They had to use the demo verses for the album because Chester was too sick/sore to finish them in NY. But it would be weird to basically have the same demo twice (just with Mike's vocals added on one).

Plaster 2/Plaster II has to be the singing verses version. Figure.09 is the rapping verses version. As for who is going to be singing the verses in Plaster 2/Plaster II, who knows. We'll end up finding that out on April 6th/April 7th.

  9. 10 minutes ago, Zoom said:

    Plaster 2 is leaked!

This is not the legit "Plaster II"/ "Plaster 2". This is a mix of the LPU 9 demo and Mike's verse vocals from the final version of "Figure.09" off Meteora. I'm not gonna lie, though. It really had me thinking it was the real legit "Plaster II"/" Plaster 2", lol.

It’s legendary to hear “Healing Foot”. I never thought that song would have received a FULL version of vocals. Another dream come true with this release.

You also predicted that the Meteora Rob drum track is "Healing Foot", as well as TTTAMP being a full song ("Lost"). I wonder if your prediction of "Resolution" being a demo/early version of "Lost" will be correct. I guess we'll find out on April 7th.

Somewhere I Belong got updated again and is also available in 4k now.

I don't know if you noticed or not, but it looks like there is some sort of glitch in the video at around 0:53/0:54. It seems like it's always been there, as I just recently checked the "Somewhere I Belong" music video from the media content from the enhanced version of 'Meteora' that you can get from the Meteora art wall on linkinpark.com and it's there too.

It’s not a guess. Listen to Broken Foot in full. There’s a part of the song with the EXACT same drum part, not to mention the demo is the same tempo and key. The correlation between the titles is a dead giveaway.

And yeah I hate it too. people are calling it Resolution right now, no idea why. Maybe they just thought the title fit it

At first I was confused by what drum part you were mentioning that was in “Broken Foot”, but I now know what drum part you’re talking about. You’re talking about the intro/chorus drum part. I can hear the similarities between the two for sure in terms of the drum part.

  14. 45 minutes ago, IWillWalkAway said:

Yea, just trust me guys 😉😉😉

    It’s Healing Foot.

I got good ears so I was able to make the connections between it and another familar demo we know.

Is it confirmed that the Meteora Rob drum demo is truly "Healing Foot"?

If it's the case that it's true, then that knocks one song down on what songs are what on the Lost Demos.

I still think that "Soundtrack" is the instrumental demo of "Wesside" and that "Wesside" is a more developed version of "Soundtrack" with live drums, scratching, and vocals, based off how the lengths of the songs are almost the exact same (Soundtrack: 3:15 / Wesside: 3:14).

I'm not too entirely sure on if "Ominous" is the instrumental demo of "Massive" and that "Massive" is a more developed version of "Ominous" with live drums, scratching, and vocals. The only reason why I thought that was mainly because they both have the same exact length of 3:08.

Maybe "Resolution" is an early version of "Lost", who knows.

I hope we will hear some "new" music in the new documentary. And I hope one day we will also get some more Meteora demos with vocals. At least "Soundtrack" with some vocals exist.

"We tried different vocal treatments, but they never really panned out; I think we felt this track was a bit too poppy. We tried turning the guitars up really loud to counterbalance it, but at the end of the day, this song didn't make the cut." - Mike Shinoda about "Soundtrack".

I hope we will hear vocals in demos like Wesside, Resolution, Healing Foot, A6 and Massive. Maybe "Soundtrack" and "Rhinocerous" have vocals but didn't make the cut:  "And even to this day a lot of the songs on Meteora are some of the best songs we've written and they're the most fun to play live and unfortunately Rhinocerous didn't make the cut but it was certainly part of the journey to get there." Brad Delson about "Rhinocerous".

I just found something interesting about "Wesside" and "Soundtrack". The length of "Wesside" is 3:14. The length of "Soundtrack" is 3:15. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not that they both have almost the exact same length as each other, but it's kind of suspicious and interesting. I'm starting to think that "Soundtrack" is the instrumental demo of "Wesside" and that "Wesside" is a more developed version of "Soundtrack" with live drums, scratching, and vocals.

I also think that "Broken Foot" is the instrumental demo of "Healing Foot" and that "Healing Foot" is a more developed version of "Broken Foot" with live drums, scratching, and vocals.

I think that "Ominous" is probably the instrumental demo of "Massive" and that "Massive" is probably a more developed version of "Ominous" with live drums, scratching, and vocals. The reason why I think that is mainly because they both have the same exact length of 3:08.

I'm pretty positive that "Resolution" is the Meteora Rob drum demo heard in the Making of Meteora/LPTV Episode 1: The Writing Process.

I could be wrong with all of this stuff, though, that's what I'm currently thinking.
