  1. I’m still fairly certain Shifter or Nocturnal, (probably Shifter) is “Take Away My Pride” as we know it. We’ll have to wait and see if that song finally comes out this year but that magazine from March 2003 definitely ramped up that belief. You’d think songs were probably finished with their finalized titles by then and Shifter and Nocturnal would hold the same situation as Faint and Figure.09. EDIT relating more to these unreleased tracks, There was a guy named David Zasloff who played a shakuhachi flute on “Nobody’s Listening” which is a cool fact. I noticed for a while that “Take Away My Pride” during the chorus or maybe just intro/end sections there’s a very interesting lead sample used on that instrumental. It sounds like there’s a guitar and a flute that we hear as that sound. I wonder if it’s a possibility that maybe he also recorded flute on that song, despite it being unreleased. I know it’s probably an early assumption since we haven’t even heard the full song/instrumental without any background noise so it’s hard to tell what that lead sound we hear could even be. Though, it could just be another sample sound like the intro/end lead on “Numb”. Just something I was thinking about when rewatching that summer sanitarium lptv video.
  2. Keep in mind, Nondisclosure agreement wasn’t a real song though only a little clip of Chester playing guitar while some of “Take Away My Pride” was being recorded. Kinda same with The Wizard Song. The clips we’ve seen already of those two are the entirety of what was jokingly recorded. My guess is The Wizard Song was an early demo they were scrapping so they just fooled around with it. Hearing the original instrumental demo would be interesting though IMO. But also it’s possible the instrumental was created just to fool around with, maybe. If it somehow still exists with the joke vocals i’m all for hearing it though. Also, if Shifter and Nocturnal are their own songs, I hope they’re actually part of the album re-release. Something small but would be cool. Whichever ones got vocals at NRG and were done, I hope would get added as bonus tracks on Meteora’s rerelease. Demos would be a different CD of course.
  3. The rob drum track is probably not Nocturnal or Shifter if those songs are true B-Sides. Mike mentioned in a stream where he talked about it that the guys in the band didn’t really wanna work with the song. This leads me to believe it probably never got vocals either and was one of three songs that Rob recorded (18 songs) but never got vocals (15 did). Nocturnal and Shifter are almost definitely tracks that have vocals. I also believe that they’re not album tracks since i’d think they probably would have their official titles by February 2003, though maybe not.
  4. Nocturnal still might actually be Numb. On the board at the time of Brad recording it’s completely empty and didn’t they say that was like the last one they did for Meteora? I’ve always had a funny feeling that Shifter is “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” but I’m likely wrong. I’m starting to think now it might be Resolution or Serpent. Also under the Unreleased Songs section of LinkinPedia, “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” doesn’t have “Mike’s Shirt” LPUTV as a source, even though it’s confirmed that it is playing in that video. (It’s the instrumental of a verse part, likely the first, and can be heard a little bit in the summer sanitarium video too.) It was a pretty recent find I think I definitely don’t think I was the first to discover it though.
  5. interesting. that’s 15 titles. So it really seems there are 3 completely unreleased songs. My guess is that Cumulus may actually be one of the songs and had been finished with vocals and everything at NRG, and we’ve never heard the final version. “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” is Shifter, Serpent, Resolution, Interrogation, Husky, or Nocturnal Plaster II might be an interesting working title, maybe for a song we’ve never heard (one of the 3)
  6. yeah and i meant it was a “full song” like full instrumental set up to have vocals recorded for it but didn't make it that far. i could be wrong but i was just saying it probably wasn’t an opener for the album or anything. just a regular track that might or might not have gotten vocals. Also, according to "Making of Meteora", drums were the first thing they recorded at NRG? Then Brad, Phoenix, Joe, and then Mike and Chester to finish. (at 9:41 mark in the video) So it wouldn't be the last thing before vocals then?
  7. I think “Rob’s Drum Track” was actually a full song. Mike mentioned it going into a heavier part after the clip shown. I don’t think the actual song was anything like the fanmade versions we’ve heard.
  8. 11 with vocals made it to the album (Session and Foreword are excluded) And 15 songs with vocals were done. So there’s probably 4 completely unreleased songs for Meteora that have a very good chance of being released in 2023. We know that one of them is “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride”. the other three might be completely never even heard of songs. I have doubts that “Rob’s drum track” got vocals because I think Mike talked about it once in a stream and it got scrapped not long after drums. That being said, I’d still love to hear the instrumental and I think it’s very possible we’ll get it because a pretty big grail. A.06 maybe but I don’t think that one was supposed to be a full song when LP finished it. I have a feeling it might’ve been the original intro track for the Album. IF we get a box set like HT20, I have a good feeling “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” might be the first one for this release too, like how She Couldn’t kicked off HT20. It’d be amazing to know the actual title and to finally hear the song. Even if it’s not the first song we get, I’m still 99.9% sure we’ll get that song, it’s the leading grail of Meteora.
  9. Like i’ve said before, the titles “Shifter” and “Nocturnal”, since they were mentioned by Mike in 2003, right near the album’s release, could actually have been two completely cut and unreleased tracks from Meteora. With this knowledge we also have this instrumental we hear in “Mike’s Shirt” LPUTV which having watched these two clips numerous times, I’ve confirmed that this is also the same track that we hear in the “Summer Sanitarium” LPTV which we know is the instrumental for the obscure “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” song, originally shown in “Making of Meteora” in a 5 second clip. It is currently (at least i think) the number 1 holy grail to fans, and was 100% not a demo of a song on the album. The instrumental is far too different than any album track we know. One of these two titles we know could perhaps belong to this song. And it was likely a finished song, if they used the instrumental for it 4 years later in 2007. This is some stuff I hope the band talks about more when MT20 comes around, because this song has NEVER been talked about that I know of. It’s the only song they’ve ever “teased” with clips but never actually talked about.
  10. I think LP wants to get out all the stuff that fans have really wanted to hear too. All the “grails” that have been for a long time. Hopefully these “exciting things” include a lot of never-before heard or seen content/songs, as well as some official releases of heard demos and stuff, like done with HT20. and hopefully they do that for future 20th anniversary’s of other albums too.
  11. Don’t expect them to come back together as a band anytime soon and start making new music. That’s a very, very huge thing that would be great don’t get me wrong. I’m sure they want to release a bunch of unseen stuff still but don’t get your hopes up for them coming back together. just like Mike said, “don’t start up the hype train, your gonna disappoint yourself”.
  12. No we don’t know that for sure, and he’s probably not reading lplive. But Mike isn’t blind, he knows fans and the LPU community would want to see LP do something big and cool for the 20th Anniversary of Meteora, like they did with HT.
  13. yes! and i know i mention it too much but, don’t forget that it’s known one of these songs was shown in a five second clip in the making of meteora with the lyrics “thoughts that take away my pride, trapped in places deep inside”. the instrumental of it is in the background two LPTV videos, “Summer Sanitarium” and “Mike’s Shirt”. It is by far one of the most striking meteora demos, as it is the latest cut song off the album we’ve heard a little bit of. If we actually got that song after so long i know so many fans would be happy, as it is such a holy grail. the other three songs would be completely unheard songs which would also be incredibly interesting to hear, and to have unreleased tracks with the iconic sound of meteora would be really cool.
  14. I hope if they do a “single” that it’s the “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” song. It’s one of the extra songs that didn’t make the cut and after this long, that song is a must. It’d be perfect to start off Meteora20 with a bang. Heck, that song could actually be “Shifter” or “Nocturnal”. Like how we never knew for so long “Be Yourself” was actually Pictureboard
  15. We’re coming somewhat close to Meteora’s 20th Anniversary, and even though we may or may not see this song’s release, even though it’s likely number 1 right now for requested releases, I thought I should go over what’s known about it right now: 1. The song was first shown in the “Making of Meteora” video 2. A lyric sheet of the song has been shown 3. The Instrumental of the song has been used over two clips in LPTV. The “Summer Sanitarium” episode and “Mike’s Shirt” LPU Exclusive. 4. The song is heard twice in Season 1 of LPTV, during the recording of Meteora: The Studio II - 7:34 The Vocals - 1:37 Now here are some of my predictions: 1. The song’s title is either “Shifter” or “Nocturnal”. Yes, keep in mind a supposedly “leaked” Nocturnal was released on youtube, but it is in fact fake. It was found to not be Linkin Park, instead a demo by a band called Riverline. These two titles were mentioned before the album release in 2003 in an interview, so clearly by then they had to have been finished songs, just not included on the album. Some say it’s possible they could’ve been working titles but I have my doubts that any songs still had working titles by that point (other then the ones that kept them of course). 2. “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” might not have been the final chorus lyrics, which may be why Mike doesn’t recognize them. 3. If my other two statements are incorrect, the song/demo may have never received final lyrics, and remained an instrumental. and, here’s my finished reinterpretation of the full song from the clips we’ve gotten: https://youtu.be/N6vygmhgHog
  16. the only way i can really see us getting tttamp is through the 20th of meteora anniversary. if we don’t get a meteora 20 then unfortunately we might never get to hear it. it might just end up being in that landfill with all the other songs that were left unreleased and unknown to the public. at least we asked mike about the track and he didn’t really remember but ig it could be he doesn’t wanna talk about it. if those were lyrics to a chorus of a finished song i’m sure he’d remember them.
  17. I don’t think those vocals of “the wizard song” exist is what Chester meant. They were just fooling around in Mike’s studio they probably never even recorded it. The instrumental would be interesting as it’s from the same era of demos as cumulus, soundtrack, etc.
  18. Right I forgot about Pretty Birdie. Well in that case who knows maybe Shifter is actually TTTAMP or a demo for it. Or maybe a demo for a song that we've heard. Those would be cool as well. I think at some point, LPU just maybe might come back with some more demos and unreleased songs. Maybe an LPU 21? Pretty unlikely but I'm hoping at least.
  19. Well apparently, 'Shifter' is said to be a demo for Somewhere I Belong. Do we have proof though that this was in fact a demo for Somewhere I Belong? Also, unrelated to that, it's worth noting that "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" may not have been the final lyrics for the song. This could very well be the reason Mike does not remember those lyrics. When recording, Chester mentions (Making of Meteora) that they had to rewrite a song 97 times. They probably were talking about TTTAMP since that was the song they were recording. Mike might not remember that song having those lyrics because they might not have been the final ones. Just maybe.
  20. That's really cool that Cuidado was actually a demo! And it's Lying From You! I'd love to hear it eventually!
  21. It seems like it could be possible that the band took something from TTTAMP to make Burn It Down. I know they're literally like a decade apart but the chords are a bit similar, same key, and the hi hats are somewhat similar and the tempo is about the same. Idk maybe that song had some inspiration from TTTAMP. This could just be a coincidence though and they just happen to sound similar. The wizard song is also strangely similar. As i've said before, the instrumental of wizard song maybe could have been a demo of TTTAMP.
  22. Well now it's confirmed that beat in "Mike's Shirt" LPUTV is actually Take Away My Pride. I discovered that several months back. You can also hear it play after chester sings "Talk To Me" in LPTV - The Studio II.
  23. Yeah I know they were just joking around. I’m only talking about the instrumental of the wizard song sounds similar the verse of TTTAMP.
  24. Do you guys think the wizard song instrumental whatever that instrumental was may have been a demo for TTTAMP? The chords are pretty similar and the tempo/key is the same. Also in Mike’s Shirt LPUTV during the second part of the verse part we hear of TTTAMP there is a sound that’s a double beep and it’s the same keys as the guitar in the chorus of The Wizard Song. Basically what I’m saying is they both have some sort of connection and I think that instrumental might actually be a demo for TTTAMP. Of course only like 20% sure though.
  25. Found the stream where he talks about that other (more mellow) song. Time stamp is 2:06:18. He talks a little bit about the other unreleased song we know about. (Not TTTAMP)
