  1. Seems like it could be LP-related with him mentioning it like, "no new album BUT...." after mentioning Meteora.
  2. It was so accessible that we started asking him about EVERY song on the wiki we could find that needed song information. Surely he caught on eventually haha. But he was graceful and kind enough to answer literally everything. We'd queue up a few questions at a time and submit them... we had a whole chat for it. At the end of the day, it contributed SIGNIFICANTLY (!) to the song information on Linkinpedia, especially for songs we did not have any information for. The 2020-2021 updates were huge. We found out about all sorts of stuff. Funny enough - well after he finished doing the Q&As we realized we forgot to ask about one of the Mall songs (and also, Dancer from Mall) - so those are two we don't have. lol. But pretty much everything else was fleshed out due to Mike's answers. We can get around to those Mall tracks one day and ask him, probably at a M&G or something.
  3. On his Lens account, Mike posted the following message: "Hey friends. Haven't been on social media much lately. I've been: -in the studio working on music for myself and friends -working on a new and improved mikeshinoda.com that integrates with ziggurates.xyz (with token gated features) -spending time with family and friends -doing secret things on secret projects" This adds to what he said on Discord recently: Mike Shinoda: "I feel like 2023 is going to be an exciting year" B_Modz: "Meteora 20th?" Mike Shinoda: "that's certainly one reason" Northwest: "AYO LEAKING A NEW ALBUM??" Mike Shinoda: "Not a new album, but there will be things that are...of interest to you" So - while confirming that Linkin Park will celebrate the Meteora 20th anniversary this year, he is hinting at something else with the "secret projects" and "things that are... of interest to you" comments. Mike has been notably absent from social media lately as he said, so there is some point to him starting some hype with these comments. What do you think he's referring to? New solo music? A possible Linkin Park song?
  4. Agreed fully. Even in the Meteora era, Linkin Park blew up so quickly that the 2000-2001, and even 2002(!), seemed so ancient. And we'd never find more stuff about that era for setlists, etc. Turns out over time we actually found more dates (like this, or this, or this entire show) that were missing. The existence of old tour itineraries for the crews really helped us nail down and confirm some early stuff for the band. When people are like "are you sure your archive is accurate?", we're like... well, it's EXTREMELY close if it isn't exact. For every show played as Linkin Park, there is a 99.999% chance there are no legitimate shows missing from the live guide. Maybe this Kimmel set isn't so surprising to some because the Internet has so many archival tools at its disposal now, and people are more reachable than ever. Imagine in 2003 saying "oh I'll just ask an LP crew member about X"... that just didn't ever happen in the fanbase. Now, you can tweet, DM, Facebook message, email, etc someone who worked with the band and they're like "ah yeah, this happened at this time, and that didn't happen at that time" or something. People are extremely accessible. Just like with Kimmel - no way could we have contacted a producer of the show in 2007. But in 2023? That's actually possible lol. So the "shock" factor is really not there for some things like this. Sure, we could have asked the LP team in 2027 when they did an MTM box set what this setlist was, because they have it archived somewhere for sure. But - very glad to have it now. Time is so wild. Can you believe how active the site was in 2007 on the MTM tour... a "CuteNews" show thread for every show with tons of comments? And it's now... 2023? Really hard to believe. Went by in the blink of an eye.
  5. Well we don't have a recording of the show so it's pointless. Sit on a setlist for 4 more years? Haha. What if something happened to us and it got lost? Probably best to get it out into the public on the Internet immediately so it doesn't ever get lost.
  6. Stuff is going to inevitably leak as it always does. You are welcome to post leaks here, of course. We ask that you either put SPOILER WARNING before it, or put it in spoiler tags, or just something as a courtesy to those who may not want to see leaked information yet. But definitely feel free to discuss things as they leak and happen - that's part of the process and is very fun!
  7. Back in 2007, Linkin Park played Jimmy Kimmel Live for Minutes to Midnight, except the show was moved to the House of Blues on Sunset Strip. As is customary with Kimmel sets, the bands usually play two songs for TV and then a few more songs for the fans in attendance. Since this was at a small club, it was expected Linkin Park would at least play ten or more songs. Fan sites at the time reported on alleged setlists, and we even made LPU threads and posts asking attendees for the set. However, nothing was ever found to exactly confirm what the band played. The setlist on the show page from 2007-2023 was a combination of what attendees guessed/remembered was played and we've kept it as unconfirmed this entire time. As far as the Linkin Park community is concerned, this was the last missing setlist from 2004 to present day that was missing from the site. Everything from late 2004 to now has been properly archived for Linkin Park, Fort Minor, Dead By Sunrise, Mike Shinoda, and more. At times, this has relied on DBS member Amir Derakh or even Mike Shinoda himself to send us setlists for the site. And we thank them for all of the help by doing that. Thankfully, Felipeintheend was able to contact a producer of the show that archived setlists by bands played on Jimmy Kimmel over the years, and the person was happy to send over exactly what Linkin Park performed that night. Linkin Park at the House Of Blues Sunset Strip - May 18, 2007 01. What I've Done (TV) 02. Bleed It Out (TV) ——————————— 03. No More Sorrow 04. From the Inside 05. Given Up 06. One Step Closer 07. Lying From You 08. Somewhere I Belong 09. Numb 10. Pushing Me Away (Piano Version) 11. Breaking the Habit 12. In the End 13. Faint So... 5,721 days later, we finally have the setlist and have been able to fix the number one gap we've had from the end of the Meteora era to present day!
  8. It seems to refer to Linkin Park instead of actually Mike stuff. He said it right after the Meteora thing and said Meteora is just one of the things. He is pretty in tune with what gets fans excited, etc so he's not going to just throw that out there without it being something legit, IMO.
  9. The last thing Mike said makes it sound like it could possibly be a Linkin Park song, or Linkin Park event, or something. Something LP-related.
  10. Ok this is really exaggerating lol. It isn't odd at all. It's been less than 2 weeks, less than 12 days even, from the start of the year. They said January. We have over half the month to go LOL
  11. Mike already said on Twitch he doesn't really care about doing box sets for Meteora and MTM, but is the absolutely most very excited for ATS lol
  12. Yeah. Mike already said they left Xero material off of HT20. There is a lot of live footage for HT20 they didn't release too. So there is a good bit of material left.
  13. What we don't know is if they filmed something on the Meteora arena tour (or even in the UK in November 03, it's the same setlist just a little different order pretty much) or Projekt Revolution 2004. Those would be easy tours for them to film a show on. We didn't know what exact PR02 shows they filmed, so it isn't wild to think that they may have filmed PR04 or the arena tour and we just never knew it.
  14. You can make the argument either way. Metallica did tours called "Escape From The Studio" when they were writing new albums. Those are certainly not a part of any touring cycle, they are just shows between albums. For LP's sake, they never really ever did that outside of 2005-2006. The band themselves identify the end of the Meteora tour being in Brazil 2004. But, Summer Sonic obviously isn't MTM and you can't release that on an MTM DVD because it has zero MTM songs on it. It was also an "escape from the studio" style run. MFR 2005 was a benefit for the tsunami, and they had no plans to play Live 8 until Bono called Mike at his house. Those are one-offs for sure, in the Fort Minor era. If push came to shove, looking at it 17 years later, the 05-06 shows most definitely fit with the Meteora album and not the MTM album. They weren't really on the touring cycle for the Meteora album per say, but they were before the band finished their third album MTM and would fit for a Meteora release. For example, if you put a 2003 show, a 2004 show, a 2005 show and a 2006 show (just examples) on the box set, that would actually fit quite nicely. Summer Sonic is all Hybrid Theory and Meteora songs with the exception of Reading My Eyes (Xero) and QWERTY (written a few days before Japan and on the way to Japan). When else could you release a 2006 show? That Tokyo 2006 show is one of the best shows the band ever played that we have footage of. You know like how everyone says "Rock am Ring 2004 is the best LP show ever", well they definitely played better shows at times but that's one of the very best that was recorded. So - from what we know exists and what we have heard and seen... Tokyo 2006 is truly an iconic, GREAT show and it would be nice to see it on Meteora's box set. If you pass it up, don't put it on Meteora 20, and it comes time for MTM, it's not going to make the MTM box set and it may never be released. Right now is the time to do it. At least stream it online if it is not on the box set. Chester was in godly form that night and the setlist is really unique.
  15. This is pretty cool. The sounds are unique and it has its own flavor. Will share this on social media!
  16. I wish! I just thought it was cool there was a request for Meteora stuff and LP is teasing a Meteora celebration.
  17. Wasn't HT20 announced about 8 weeks prior to its release? Wouldn't that put M20 for a late January info drop?
  18. Thanks martinez, just updated the song pages with this info and the Genius annotations done by Mike.
  19. Working on Ziggurats on Linkinpedia. Has anyone gone through it to see what samples you can identify from other Mike songs? We don't really have much info on the tracks but it'd be nice to add some cool facts to the song pages. https://linkinpedia.com/index.php?title=Genius_Bar Like, Ctrl C Ctrl V samples One Hundredth Stream. We were going to do info on Alternate Versions of them, some highlights of those, but there are just too many versions to do that so we'll probably remove that section lol
  20. He did during the ATS era because he mentioned at the London M&G that the fans on LPLive were pretty harsh at times about the setlists. lol In fairness to the fans, looking back now 12 years later, that was the first time they didn't rotate setlists on a world tour in a long time - the MTM tour had different sets all over. They pretty quickly threw in LFY and LOATR in that set and then started rotating sets again after Europe.
  21. That Kimmel 2007 set for sure that LP played. Before that, it's the 2004 tour but once they started a tour, those setlists were 99% going to be the same all tour unless Chester got sick or something. We are missing some Fort Minor 2006 setlists but those few sets you could probably guess with 99.9% accuracy. Chester guested with Royal Machines (and others) in 2016 - those acts sent us some setlists. This one was one they said they'd send, then stopped replying and wouldn't follow up. It happens. https://lplive.net/shows/chesterbennington/20160928c/ At least we know what Chester sang on. Dead By Sunrise members would send us setlists of their private shows if we needed them. Mike actually sent us a setlist of a performance he did too one time years ago. LP HQ sent us a setlist one time of a private performance. So - all around, all of the bands/band members are very kind to us and are extremely helpful. We can't thank them enough for their help over the years. It is entirely possible you provided the correct setlist recently (meaning 2010-now, or something) and either it just slipped by us or we saw it and forgot to update it. Ha. That is VERY possible. We have Google Docs upon Google Docs upon lists upon other lists of information to add to LPLive and Linkinpedia - it may take us 5+ years to add everything, provided literally nothing else ever happens lol. It's a never ending cycle. So we may have messed that up ourselves. The setlist on the show page that WAS there for ages came from either PushMeAway.com's archives from 2001 or a similar source.
  22. What if the unreleased Meteora remixes surfaced one day?
  23. It's been a very long time, but we actually have done some work to find some setlists to add to the site. These have come from old show review archives, fan reviews, and more. It's no secret much of our attention has focused on Linkinpedia and working on that since 2015, but there is still work to be done with Linkin Park and previous show setlists. In terms of the website, we have a significant amount of setlists for shows and everything from the last part of Projekt Revolution 2004 to modern day has a setlist for it except for one show we are looking for. Perhaps the biggest missing set is still the Jimmy Kimmel 2007 / Hollywood House of Blues set, which we have never been able to track down after the first two songs that were aired. The unconfirmed setlist comes from an fan on the LPU forums in 2007 that typed up songs they remember being played. Anyway, here are some updates of what we've tracked down in the past year or so. We will work on getting these added to the site's show pages shortly. A big thank you to Alan and lpliveusername for their hard work!
