For many reasons we decided to not do this and include the bonus tracks as a part of the main album. The reason being is that Unshatter and Let You Fade were completed AFTER From Zero was released. Bonus tracks on other albums like Hybrid Theory - My December for example was written and released after Hybrid Theory. Lost is from Meteora, no doubt, I agree with you. We made the decision to not include songs in the general groupings of albums unless they are on the main studio release. If they play Fighting Myself, it was also completed in 2022/2023, so that isn't an accurate song to say it's from Meteora.... there are too many scenarios to group things like that. We did the original album only and that's accurate.

The lighting truly is great. This angle from the back of the arena really allows you to hear well how sick Emily is. She's very under the weather, which is what her friend Lisa said on socials. Hats off for still playing the show.

We are sad to report that it's already time for the last show of the tour for Linkin Park! This will be the last show before the final leg of the From Zero World Tour and it takes place in none other than Auckland, New Zealand, where Linkin Park has performed four previous times. Auckland is the only city in New Zealand that Linkin Park has performed in, but it would not surprise us in the future if they started to branch out as other popular artists have done to cities like Christchurch, Dunedin, or Wellington. So far, they have sold out a majority of their shows at Spark Arena. The first LP show in Auckland came on the 2001 US-to-Europe Tour that we've talked about in all of the show threads so far this tour. We don't really know too much about the show but a review says that Chester performed "Jane Says" by Jane's Addiction in the show, which was a cover he was performing at the time. It would be at the very end of this tour, in London, when he brought out "The Morning After", the first appearance at an LP show of his famous solo song that went on to become a bonus track on the Dead By Sunrise Out of Ashes album. Unfortunately, the band didn't return in 2003 when they played Livid Festival so it was until Minutes to Midnight six and a half years later when they could get back to New Zealand. They announced a show at Vector Arena (now Spark Arena) in 2007, selling it out in under five minutes. A second night was added beforehand (so, the new show became the first show of the tour) and LP was able to get in two shows! The 2007 shows are actually pretty great - we listened to these and updated the show pages in December ahead of this tour; you'll definitely love these if you give them a listen. The night 2 show especially rocks! You know how Linkin Park in this era will sometimes perform 2 shows in the same city, especially on this Australian leg? But in Europe, South America, even some North American cities now too. That wasn't common back in the day. In fact, outside of performing 3 nights at Tokyo's Budokan in 2003 (which are LEGENDARY LP shows), the band did not headline the same city for multiple nights from 2001 to 2007 until Auckland 2007. They went on to play two shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Saitama, London, and Las Vegas on the tour for Minutes to Midnight. That really kickstarted LP being able to do that - their third album. But hey, anytime we can mention Tokyo 2003, we can and on that note, if you want to listen to one of the best LP shows of all time, here you go in great quality. Back in the day, before we had three albums, way before we had the modern day LP, before social media as it is now... we had amazing shows like this. Sadly, the A Thousand Suns Tour skipped Auckland in 2010 although two shows were rumored again at the arena. With Canberra being announced just a few weeks before the show over in Australia, it looks like the shows in Auckland just didn't work out for some reason. But we've seen the crew itinerary - they had two shows penciled in for A Thousand Suns. What a shame they didn't make it over for the album. 2013 ended up having the next show, the 8th LPU Summit, in Auckland. Bringing along Stone Sour to open the show (we're jealous), LP treated fans to a five song soundcheck that they actually livestreamed for LPU fans across the world. The three album songs from that soundcheck included a rare "Castle of Glass", and then "Lost in the Echo" and "Victimized (w/ QWERTY)". That's not bad! We would love the LPU Summits to return one day! Well, that headline setlist rocked in Auckland in 2013 and that brings us up to speed with the LP history in New Zealand. We'll see what the future has to offer, but this show sold out VERY quickly (under 2 hours) and we think they know they can easily play two shows there again now. The band's last show in Sydney for night 2, wrapping up the Australian leg, was really good. And by that, we mean we got a major highlight in "Leave Out All The Rest" returning for the first time since Sao Paulo, Brazil 2024! What a surprise! With Emily still sick and LP playing 25 song sets for the time being, altering the set for her vocals, it makes sense to get a song in with Mike singing a majority of lead vocals. Let's hope the song sticks around for Auckland and Europe, because of course that's a big song on MTM and fans love it. Alex had this to say on Instagram about the song after playing it: Check out the Sydney night 2 setlist, which has some cool notes: - "From the Inside" at the third show in a row. - "Lying From You" makes it back-to-back shows. - "Over Each Other" in a rare Act 1 appearance for the first time. - Mike rapped 28,000 verses on his solo medley. No, for real - check it out. It was in response to @BroodingAnanas on Twitter saying he was doing a lot of the same verses recently (which actually is true), and he decided to mash-up a lot of them at once on a LONG medley - "Step Up", "It's Goin' Down" (with a member of The X-Ecutioners in attendance!), "Until It Breaks", "When They Come For Me", and "Lift Off". That's not bad. Could we see a few more mashups of multiple verses? That'd be pretty fun, right? Bring on Auckland, bring on another "Leave Out All The Rest" performance, and whatever else the band has to offer. This tour has rocked because the energy has been off the charts with both the band and crowd, but the amount of fun/unique songs has been HIGH lately. We've seen "Unshatter", "Let You Fade", "Keys to the Kingdom", and "Leave Out All The Rest" all return in Australia. Auckland holds the honor of being the band's last show before the final leg of the From Zero World Tour in Europe. Things are ending sooner than we want them to, and you need to get a show in before the end of June if you want to see a From Zero show. As much as we'd like them to keep touring to areas they haven't visited yet - southeast Asia, China, Ireland, South Africa, etc... LP is quite anxious to get back into the studio and have already started writing and recording new music. We're excited for the last show of the tour and can't wait to see what goes down in Auckland! Mike and the singer are the only reason they'd cancel shows. Unless Yoshi the new drum tech can't fill in for Colin. We have never had a situation in which Rob cannot play. He injured himself and they dropped Rebellion, I think around the Mexico 2015 shows @JZLP-Benningstrong but Rob always played. Unsure on new bass tech for Dave, but he was with RHCP for eons so he probably knows music. Joe has a new tech. The new techs aren't as road tested with LP as the OG lineup ones, as some of those techs were around forever. Ben for sure can do anything though, he was lead for Fall Out Boy for over an entire tour, played 3 shows with LP (almost Russia 2014 too) and said to us he knows the entire setlist+all songs since 2024 LP has played live in case he needs to fill in. The vocals and drums are there... wouldn't take much to actually play Step Up in the show if they wanted to in Europe.

Linkin Park is back on stage in Sydney for night 2 and we are excited because it's a very special day - Joe Hahn's birthday! According to our new Happy Birthday page that chronicles live shows on band member birthdays and other important birthdays on stage, Linkin Park performed on Joe's birthday in 2001, 2003, and 2004. The only known celebration for Joe was at that 2004 show, in Inglewood - die hard fans know that was a rescheduled show on the Meteora World Tour because Chester was sick and they were cutting songs in Long Beach before it. Wait, does that sound similar to modern day? If you go to the start of the encore in this show, you'll see the band singing to Joe and Chester. You might as well watch the entire show while you're there because that arena tour setlist in 2004 was absolutely insane, in the best way possible. An encore of "My December", "P5hng Me A*wy", "A Place for My Head" and "One Step Closer"? Sign us up yesterday. This will be Joe's first birthday on stage with Linkin Park since 2004! And we're hoping the band celebrates it in a big way, because all credit from other band members goes to Joe for kickstarting the conversations that got Linkin Park to eventually decide to return as a band. Thank you, Joe! So, if you're following the tour right now, you've likely seen the chatter online about Emily being sick, you know the band sadly canceled the Adelaide show, and they performed a shortened set at Melbourne night 2. The same thing happened again for Sydney night 1, which was a smart move by the band considering 1) Emily is not 100% yet, and 2) there was no off day in Sydney between nights 1 and 2. With two shows back-to-back, and more travel coming up to New Zealand, it was a good move to take things easy and cater the set around Emily's voice. What surprised us was the amount of jams still in the set. Any Linkin Park fan on the planet would love a show with all of these songs - "Points of Authority", "Lying From You", "Castle of Glass", "From the Inside", and "A Place for My Head". That's not even including "Lost" and all the other bangers like "Papercut", "Faint", etc. Very nicely done. So it seems for Emily, some of these heavier songs are easier for her to sing but the higher From Zero songs are more difficult. LP had just 3 songs off of the new album in the set for night 1, and we are expecting about the same for night 2. Like when Chester had difficulty with "Given Up" when sick (who wouldn't have trouble with it, anyway? Ha), we're seeing that to be true with Emily with "Heavy Is the Crown". Both of the past two shows they have played have had 2 total songs cut and we've been down to 25 songs, but these are still PRETTY full shows and they are giving us a lot of curveballs in the show - in the best way possible. For example, the last time both the studio versions of "Castle of Glass" and "Lies Greed Misery" were in the same show was in 2013. Linkin Park has history of doing this before. Remember the 2008 North American Tour in arenas? Chester got sick halfway through and we had this series of events happen: a shortened show, two canceled shows in a row after that, four more shortened shows, and then a full set again on the last date of the tour. Including the canceled shows, seven shows were affected from this. We got some really interesting things in the sets, though, because harder songs for his voice had to be dropped. We saw "Wake" into "Lying From You" open shows, "Papercut" had the "Points of Authority" outro on it, and more. Check out this Oklahoma City set. Or this shortened one from Las Vegas: Needless to say, even with changes, there are still a lot of major highlights both in that time and this time, which are pretty similar situations. We aren't expecting anything too crazy for night 2 in Sydney and we are just glad the band is able to get shows in. It has resulted in some unique sets once again, similar to 2008, and we're enjoying the fun in it all. The show reviews from both Melbourne N2 and Sydney N1 are quite strong and fans are having a great time. After all, still playing around 2 hours and only cutting 2 songs is quite impressive - and she looked really under the weather in Sydney on the first night. Get well soon, Emily! And Happy Birthday to Joe! Here's the night 1 set - for night 2 we'll assume Set C with some more song changes, but nothing too crazy. The tour ends with one more show, after two off days, in Auckland, New Zealand. The last time in Auckland, Linkin Park hosted an amazing LPU Summit and brought along Stone Sour for the show. We're quite jealous of that. That will be the last show before the final leg of the From Zero World Tour in Europe. After that, it's studio time! They did that, they did the Reading My Eyes verse and more heavy rotations. Honestly an awesome set - not as much From Zero but you get POA, LFY, FTI, APFMH all in there. Everyone would take that. Funny you finally get BID, LGM, and COG all in the same set lol. Living Things era vibes. From the Inside is all over the place, love that it is in the beginning, middle, Act 3, and and encore. Hell, Act 4 too. It's been everywhere. They must not have rehearsed other Mike-driven songs they could swap in. They'd need like, what, Promises or something? You can't whip that up on the fly, they'd need to do that before the tour + program production for it too.

Yeah people seem to prefer the shortened N2 Melbourne to the N1 full set, all because of the energy. If they need to tailor the set accordingly and not load it with songs harder for her voice then by all means do it since there are no breaks between these two shows. Night 2 immediately follows night 1 with no day off between. Probably good to avoid Given Up, APFMH, etc.

NOW we're ready for the 5th show of the Australia and New Zealand run! Unfortunately, Linkin Park had to cancel the last show in Adelaide, Australia because of an illness in the band, likely Emily being sick as we saw in Melbourne. If you recall on night 2, the band had to cut both "Stained" and "Heavy Is the Crown" (after 77 straight shows) from the setlist with Emily letting the crowd sing a good portion of some of the songs. Emily made up for it with her increased energy on-stage, and fans that went to both shows seem to have preferred the night 2 show even more than night 1! So with an unfortunate cancelations in Adelaide, and the band arriving in Sydney already, it looks like the band will forge ahead with these shows. What remains to be determined is if they will have to cut or change any part of the show to accommodate, so we'll see. LP unfortunately won't be able to make it back to Adelaide, as the venue is booked after New Zealand and it costs a fortune to bring a small army + tour production +the band, etc 19 hours from LA... and they won't hit the region more than once per album. So we hope they can make it back to Adelaide next album and make it up for those fans. Lucky, the Bern 2025 canceled show was able to be rescheduled to a stadium show in Zurich for 2026, so that one is being made up. In a nice move for fans, LP opened the outside merch in Adelaide and sold souvenirs for fans for very discounted prices. Sydney will be Linkin Park's 9th and 10th shows in the city. The very first tour, the US-to-Europe Tour in 2001, that they played Sydney on featured a show at the Enmore Theatre where the fans quite literally broke the floor of the venue. Here's Mike's comments on it: "okay, so the australian shows have been banannas. i think it's safe to say a show has gone well when the kids leave behind them a BROKEN CLUB FLOOR. when everyone cleared out of the enmore theatre in sydney, there was a 20-foot circle where the floor had been smashed down about 18 lower than where it was supposed to be. the crowd was so out of hand that they broke the floor. and tonight in melbourne, we had the biggest turnout that we've had on a headlining show. we can't wait to see what happens in brisbane. --Mike" This Sydney show may have been the first-ever Linkin Park show with an encore break, too, but we are not completely sure on the setlist for it. But starting your career in a city with breaking the venue floor is really something! The next show in Sydney came during Meteora and was on the Livid Festival at Moore Park. There's sadly no setlist from that show, but a guy that filmed the show and got caught, handing his tape over, somehow managed to grab the last two songs of that show. Chester is a monster in this performance, check it out! The entire fall 2003 run in Australia and Asia for Linkin Park was quite great... as we know from the Tokyo Budokan shows that are pretty legendary in the community and of course the Seoul show on Meteora|20's box set. LP's first show at the arena came in 2007, where they actually elevated right away to being able to perform two shows. The Sydney Entertainment Centre (later Acer Arena, and now Qudos Bank Arena) hosted Linkin Park twice in 2007 Night 1 in 2007, Mike said, "There's this controversy going on between Auckland and Sydney as it applies to Linkin Park, because they claimed the venue the band played where you fans broke the floor was in Auckland. It was in Sydney!" Chester said, "Sydney is home to the crazy motherfuckers that broke the venue!" These two 2007 shows were very, very solid shows and came right after Chester broke his wrist in Melbourne on the tour. In 2010, Linkin Park returned for their largest tour of Australia ever and played two more shows in Sydney. What's interesting is they sandwiched the Melbourne shows on the tour, with night 2 coming 4 days after night 1. Night 2 featured the second-ever LPU Summit, where fans were treated to an incredibly rare performance of "The Little Things Give You Away" acoustic by Mike and Chester. The band performed a whopping nine shows in just Australia that tour which is quite impressive. Judging by the size of the crowds this tour, it seems they could even get back to that on the next album or so because of ticket sales. On the LIVING THINGS Tour in 2013, Linkin Park played Soundwave across the country and of course added another headlining show at the arena as well... with Stone Sour. Lucky! The Soundwave show is the one where Chester saw a fan down in the crowd and had the band stop "Points of Authority" so security could handle it and help the person out. Soundwave in 2013 featured absolutely wild crowds for the bands in general, and especially Linkin Park. That's what happens when Metallica plays after you - we love to see it. We sure do wish 2013 had the DSPs (Digital Souvenir Packages) going because the Australia and New Zealand setlists rocked! This will be Linkin Park's first visit to Sydney since 2013, quite a long time, and they're here for two shows. We are guaranteed to get some unique setlists and we'll see if "Given Up", one of the only rotation songs not played yet, pops up. We're sending our thoughts and wishes out to the band and hoping they can end the tour on a high note. Speaking of note... we are definitely remembering we need to head down to Australia next time Linkin Park tours there as the shows are always exceptional. This tour started with four amazing shows and with three left and a handful of the rarest From Zero World Tour rotation songs popping out, we definitely want to go down sometime. Sydney for 2 shows and Auckland to close it - we're looking forward to it! If you're going to the shows, have an amazing time and if you're able to check out the From Zero Nights or the pop-ups, then you're in great shape and making the rest of us jealous. It's not practicable to do something like that. Emily is the band's singer. They never played without Chester. Some members are not replaceable to the show and you must cancel. We know they can replace guitar, DJ, and bass. Mike and Emily are not a part of that equation and I bet Yoshi can't play the full show on drums either. Mike is not able to sing lead an entire set of what LP is trying to play, which is a lot of the new album and past heavier songs.

UPDATE: This show has been canceled. Please see the band’s statement: Original show thread: Four shows down in Australia! Linkin Park takes the fifth show of the tour over to Adelaide, Australia in the central part of the country next. Adelaide was a late addition to the tour, being the last Australian date added to the run. With Linkin Park skipping Perth this tour (likely due to its geographic distance in relation to the other concerts), Adelaide is as far west in the country as Linkin Park will go. And it's still pretty...east in the country. Located on the St. Vincent Gulf, Adelaide is a city Linkin Park has played three times previously - in 2007, 2010, and 2013. The 2007 show came the day after Chester broke his wrist in Melbourne, and the band ended up canceling zero shows for it. While dropping "Shadow of the Day" from that second night in Melbourne (since Chester couldn't play guitar, obviously), they kept it in the setlist in Adelaide with Mike's guitar tech Kurt playing guitar on the song. The very next show after that, armed with a brand new (second) cast, Chester resumed playing guitar. Wow! Setlist-wise in 2007, Linkin Park played their standard Set A with "Wake" and "Given Up" opening and the electric encore that featured "One Step Closer", "In The End", and "Bleed It Out". That show was released a a Digital Souvenir Package download, which you can listen to anytime. Linkin Park returned in 2010 on the A Thousand Suns World Tour to Adelaide, and debuted a brand new setlist at that show. "Wretches And Kings", "Lying From You", and "Given Up" got things going in that show, which featured "Leave Out All The Rest" in the middle of the show too in a unique move on the touring cycle. That show was also released. 2013 was the third show in Adelaide, a part of the Soundwave Festival in the country and part of the last tour Linkin Park had in Australia before this tour. Perhaps the most unique part of that show is not the setlist itself, but the fact that Mike walked on stage before "Faint" to play guitar on "Tinfoil", something he almost always did off-stage before the show. So with the brief history of the band performing in Adelaide (and that's no knock on the city - they have gotten three great, consistent shows from LP), let's take a look at what transpired at the last show in Melbourne. Where do we even begin about Melbourne? It's safe to say Linkin Park fucking loves performing in Melbourne, because seemingly every visit they have to the city, and especially Rod Laver Arena, they have some special moment occur. It just happens that way sometimes! Rod Laver is also one of their most-performed venues in the world now. Well, we have all seen Linkin Park bust out the rarities this tour. "Unshatter", "Let You Fade", and "Keys To The Kingdom" all came back to life after nearly half of a year off. Perhaps the most surprising part of that is that the last performance for all three of those (quite rare, at this point) songs is that they were ALL played in Portland in 2025. Aaaaand not since then, until Australia. Boy, if you happened to catch that Portland show, your show experience aged like fine wine. And you know what else returned in Melbourne for night 2? "A Place For My Head"! Mike celebrated by going down to the crowd to rock out. But they happened to keep "In The End" in the setlist this time too... if you know, you know! Shout out to 2013 here. As you likely have seen on social media, Emily was a bit sick in Melbourne, so Linkin Park had to cut several songs from the show. That is quite rare, but it has happened before - remember Chester had both "My December" and "P5hng Me A*wy" dropped in 2004 after being sick. And there have been a few other drops over time too. What's impressive is Emily's energy at the show in Melbourne. Where she felt under the weather vocally, she made it up with the energy on the stage... and in the crowd. In the crowd you say? Yep, remember how she jumped into the pit in Raleigh on "IGYEIH"? Well, she crowd surfed on "Two Faced" in Melbourne on the bridge. If you watch that show, check out her energy throughout - she seems to have made a conscious effort to give a bit extra to make up for it. Hey, everyone gets sick at some point or another and we're just glad she played the show! Both "Stained" and "Heavy Is The Crown" were cut, but both songs will be at other Australian shows for fans lucky enough to see them there, and who knows, maybe they pop back up at future Melbourne shows... which actually does seem likely. This is quite a nice setlist - who wouldn't want both "From The Inside" and "Keys To The Kingdom" in the same setlist? Nice, right? #JusticeForTheHuntingParty, as the kids say. What's left for Adelaide, song-wise, you ask? Well, "Given Up" is a rotation song that hasn't popped up in Australia yet so we could see that one. If the band is feeling good about "Unshatter" and "Let You Fade", we could also see those pop up. And "Stained" may get a "make-up" play after getting cut at the last show. This show is just a one night show, their first and only in Australia on this tour, but Auckland, New Zealand also gets one night after Sydney. Only three shows left after Adelaide, sadly! Maybe in the future, they can perform even more shows in Australia as it's safe to say that this tour is a smash hit with fans, the casual music fans in Australia, and the rock press there. These shows have been getting fantastic reviews so far, and some attendees in Melbourne are even saying they preferred the second night over the first, even with Emily being a bit under the weather. Well, with setlists like those, it's hard to complain about anything in Brisbane and Melbourne honestly! After this show, Linkin Park heads over to Sydney for two nights which we know will be quite exciting shows. Here's to hoping Emily feels better soon and the band brings it in Adelaide as they have all tour so far! Rock on and we'll see you over on social media! Boy, has Linkin Park hit the ground running in Australia or what? After remarkably great shows in Brisbane by all accords, especially fan reviews, press reviews, and social media comments, the band hit Melbourne for night 1 in stride and delivered one of their best setlists in quite some time on the world tour. Why is that? Well, they included "Lying From You", "Castle of Glass", "IGYEIH", "Good Things Go", and... the big return of "Let You Fade"! This was the first performance of "Let You Fade" since the Portland 2025 show, about 16 shows ago for Linkin Park. At a period of 170 days, that's very close to half of an entire calendar year between performances of the song. It follows its other Deluxe Edition rarity, "Unshatter", coming back after an extended break. "Unshatter" was performed at Brisbane night 2, and both songs could very well be back in the setlist now. Another fun note about the show is that it's the first time since Hannover, Germany 2025 where Emily played guitar on 3 songs in the show - "Up From The Bottom", "Over Each Other", and "Let You Fade". That sure doesn't happen much, and fans seem to be pretty pleased about it. Do you think fans missed the song much? And check out this great shot: With that in mind, we know they are going to bring it on night 2. At this point, there are a handful of songs they haven't gotten to yet in Australia but no one is complaining even 0.1% on this tour because the song variety has been fantastic. We could see "Given Up" and "A Place for My Head" pop into the show at some point this run, but also we think "Keys to the Kingdom" isn't outside of the realm of being possible, because of the return of both "Unshatter" and "Let You Fade". Will we see a bit of #JusticeForTheHuntingParty? Fan reviews from night 1 in Melbourne mention quite a rowdy and loud crowd, which echoes a lot of the comments about Brisbane. This will go down as one of the best legs of the From Zero World Tour when it is all said and done, we think. We are unsure what to expect for night 2 but we're looking forward to another great one by the band in this storied (in the LP world) city. Last thread, we touched on Chester's broken wrist, the debut of "Blackout" and "Burning in the Skies" in 2010, and the band playing a show at Rod Laver Arena in 2013 that is one of the only times in their career where they didn't perform "In the End". But since we didn't post it - don't miss the debut of "Burning in the Skies" in 2010. Like many fans, we think more A Thousand Suns songs live over time will sound great with this version of the band's lineup. And here's another angle of that really unique show without "In the End" - which clearly won the fan poll but the band said, "screw it, it's time for "A Place for My Head"! Anyway, back to 2026. We're gearing up for the second Melbourne show and know LP will bring it. After Melbourne, they head over to play one show in Adelaide, followed by two in Sydney and one in Auckland. The reception on this tour has been so good for the band's return that we can't help but think they could play even more shows in Australia and New Zealand (especially Perth, Australia and a second show in Auckland, New Zealand) next time they visit. Mike wouldn't have said this on the album's release if, at bare minimum, there wasn't at least some thought about Chester at some point in writing it: "Songs mean different things to different people. I want to give everyone room for their interpretation of the lyrics to "Let You Fade," at least for now. We don't need to decide on the "right" meaning behind this song. Just let the song's meaning come from the listener. All of your interpretations are welcome. Feel free to share them below; there are no wrong answers. Your version of the meaning doesn't have to be everyone's version. It can be about different things to different people." The lyrics are obviously about a relationship of some sort, with these lines: I know I'm the one that you wanna forget, but I'll remember you No matter where our ways may take us to And even when the memories slip away My take is it's not explicitly about Chester but you can think of anyone and anything when writing a song, and those lyrics may have brought feelings of him out for the songwriters (Mike specifically). Who truly knows but him. He hasn't spoken about it but knows there is a big connection between fans and Chester with the song, even if it wasn't written explicitly about him (which it wasn't).

Wow that is an amazing one. Lying From You, IGYEIH, Good Things Go, the return of Let You Fade. The 2 night stands are the best. They treat them quite well.

After two great shows in Brisbane to kick off their first tour of Australia and New Zealand in 13 years, Linkin Park is well-rested with two full off days before heading into Melbourne for another two night run! Starting the tour off at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, a venue all-too-familiar with them (both kicking off and ending tours there previously), the band already has started pulling out some fun songs throughout the shows. But we'll get to that in a bit. The first thing to mention is the very strong social media reaction and rock press coverage of the Brisbane shows. Rock outlets and music fans in general in Australia are walking away impressed from the band's first shows there in over 4,000 days. There is quite an outpouring of reviews and opinions on the Brisbane shows, with big high fives and celebrations all around. scenestr said, "Armstrong sprays fans with foam streamers, tossing the can to a fan who clutchs their keepsake for dear life. 'In The End'. I read the faces of the front barrier die-hard fans and I see all I need to know to confirm they are losing their sh.t! Over-singing. Arms slung over shoulders or fist pumping to the beat. One girl crying through the first verse and not wiping it away. A bloke next to her yelling every word like he's trying to warn her about the demon he's trying to outrun. Around 13,000 voices carrying lines that once belonged to one. Loud. Cracked. Human. No sterile arena perfection. Maybe my eyes are stinging too." Music Feeds says, "If Brisbane’s launch show is any indication, it’s equal parts tribute, celebration and fresh start – with a setlist that manages to honour the past while making space for the future. And yep, you will almost certainly lose your voice by the time In The End rolls around." And perhaps biggest of all, Rolling Stone Australia/New Zealand titles their article "Linkin Park Ignite a New Spark at Opening Australian Shows in Brisbane" and adds, "Armstrong is a genuinely extraordinary vocalist" and "The closing stretch — “Numb”, “In the End”, a lung-shredding “Faint” — arrived with the weight of songs that have meant something to too many people for too long to ever feel routine." Bluntmag follows with more celebratory comments about Emily. Comments on Facebook from these same outlets are getting hundreds of comments of people saying things like "best show of my life", etc, which is typical, but the outpouring of support in Australia across the board is pretty strong just from these two shows compared to what we usually see. So what even happened in Brisbane? The band played two shows, one with Set A that included "Points of Authority", "Crawling", "Over Each Other", "Castle of Glass" (first performance of 2026", "Casualty" (also first performance of 2026), "Stained", and "From the Inside" - songs not in every show. Night 2 two days later, sandwiched by an off day with the From Zero Night in Brisbane, brought in a different order and "New Divide", "Cut the Bridge", "Lies Greed Misery"...aaaaand... Linkin Park surprised us all with a performance of the rarity "Unshatter" on night 2. Just when we thought the song could possibly be gone from the show, the band busted it back out. It was not played for 15 shows, which doesn't sound like much until you realize that span goes back 167 days, nearly half of a calendar year. The only three performances of it came on the North American leg 2 run in Los Angeles, San Jose, and Portland. Linkin Park used soundchecks on that tour to get the song worked up as a surprise for the Los Angeles show, and they kept it in rotation for a few more shows before the end of that leg of the tour. However, it was not seen at all in South America, Mexico, the Middle East, or India. Now, with the band back in arenas and out of their big stadium/festival/outdoor production for a bit, we are wondering if the other missing songs could possibly show back up this leg too. And by that, we're talking about the newer fan-favorite "Let You Fade" and of course the big representative of The Hunting Party - "Keys to the Kingdom". We will see what the rest of the tour has to offer, but with several two-night runs coming up in Melbourne and Sydney, we wouldn't rule either of these songs out and we think it's entirely possible they both pop up. Fingers crossed! We say that about hopefully seeing these songs in the show, not just because we like following every show, but because after the From Zero era, you have to think Linkin Park won't carry ALL thirteen From Zero songs into the next era with the sets. Of course, the big songs will carry over and a few favorites (we could see "Overflow" making it into 2027+) will too, but songs like "Let You Fade", "Unshatter", "Good Things Go", "IGYEIH"... the rarest of those could have to spend some time on the shelf in favor of brand new music they are making. And speaking of brand new music, we've seen several shots of Linkin Park in the studio lately too.... But back to Australia, we also wanted to point out, like the comments we mentioned above, that Emily's voice right now sounds quite good. Listen to how clean the chorus is here from her on "Cut the Bridge". We're not sure if it's from being more comfortable than ever with each LP show she plays, or the downtime truly is great for her between shows/tour legs, but we are impressed! One other thing from Brisbane before we move on - as he sometimes does, Colin showed up to surprise fans at the From Zero Night (exclusively for LPU members) in Brisbane and take photos and sign items. Alright, that's what took place in Brisbane. What about Melbourne? Oh, Linkin Park fans know Melbourne well. Really well. VERY well, in fact. The city on the southern coast of Australia is no stranger to Linkin Park and this will be LP's 9th show in the city. And 10th show, because we have a night 2 here as well. Similar to Brisbane, Linkin Park first played the city at the Festival Hall in Melbourne on their crazy US-to-Europe Tour in May 2001. We actually have a pretty rare Hybrid Theory-era setlist from that show. Notably, and while this probably took place at the Sydney show a few days prior in 2001 as well, this is the first confirmed show Linkin Park ever had an encore break at. In 2003, the iconic Livid Festival actually performed at the Rod Laver Arena, where Linkin Park is performing again this time. We don't have a setlist from that show but it's very likely they performed the standard fall 2003 set at that time (you know, what you see on Live in Texas, pretty much). In Brisbane, Mike asked fans if Fort Minor played in the city because he couldn't remember, and Emily commented that he was too drunk to remember... Mike said "actually, yes" - ha. We're happy to say that yes, Brisbane and Melbourne both got Fort Minor shows in 2006. Check out that setlist by FM in 2006 - phew. All the deep cuts. In Melbourne, it was actually DJ Cheapshot's (Styles of Beyond) birthday so you know there was some partying going on. The band's first-ever two night run in Melbourne came in 2007 for Minutes to Midnight and it's a routine they have stuck to since then. And this is really where the fun history in Melbourne for the band begins. Night 1 in 2007 featured perhaps one of the rarest sets of 2007, the Set B (if you were following back then) with "No More Sorrow" opening, but with "Shadow of the Day" into "What I've Done" like the album has and "Hands Held High" in the middle.... with a super unique encore of "The Little Things Give You Away", "Cure for the Itch", "One Step Closer", and "Faint". Who wouldn't want to see THAT? And with Chris Cornell opening? Night 2 in Melbourne that tour is one of the most memorable live moments in Linkin Park history. Why? That's the very show where Chester broke his wrist. And then continued on and played the rest of the show. Yes, THAT show. We'll let the LPTV episode do the talking. Crazy, right? And the story doesn't stop there. Chester was playing guitar on "Shadow of the Day" on this tour. The next show after this, Mike's tech Kurt played guitar for Chester on it. And the show after that? Chester got a new cast (after his original one) and was right back playing guitar himself on the song. And after that? He started going back into the crowd on the tour with the cast on. What a badass. We miss Chester greatly and that's just one of a million incredible stories about the guy. You should really listen to that entire show - because he didn't even stop the band to look at his wrist until 6 songs later. The craziness in Melbourne doesn't stop there, either. In 2010, Linkin Park hit the ground running on A Thousand Suns big time with most of the songs on the album. Of the ones not in the show at the time, fan requests were heavy for "Blackout" and "Burning in the Skies" to be played. And that's exactly what debuted at Melbourne night 2, 2010. Thanks to the amazing @mikeatron85, we have an amazing video of "Blackout" from that show. And it doesn't even stop THERE! The band returned in 2013 for Soundwave across the country and added headline arena shows in both Sydney and Melbourne. At that arena show in Melbourne, a famous poll happened in the crowd. At the LPU Meet and Greet, some of the fans told Mike they were attending multiple shows on the tour, as is common for the Australian tours by Linkin Park. So during the encore that night, after "Burn It Down", Mike and Chester took a poll. Did fans want to hear "In the End", or did they want to hear "A Place for My Head"? You can probably guess which one the crowd was louder for. And it's obvious in the crowd reaction on video. But Chester said it's time to fucking play "A Place for My Head" and that's exactly what they did. Adding to it, after the show, a fan tweeted him and said they were quite disappointed the band didn't play "In the End", to which Chester said, "Come to the second Melbourne show!" Ha! Well, as we've seen the last... 6 shows in Melbourne - anything can happen. Any song is up for grabs and we are likely to see a surprise or something fun take place. Linkin Park has treated this city very well for the past 20 years and we expect the same to happen again. We're pretty excited, and you should be too. They do day of show production hold drops but that is risky to wait that long. But it is possible. Usually these are good seats and not the pit. Otherwise you are best to ask around for fans that have plans change and they need to sell tickets.
