  1. Great news!
With the COVID pandemic past us, Linkin Park is now able to do in-person press and this is the first in-person Linkin Park-related interview in years.

Mike visited Nicole Alvarez and sat down to discuss the new song "Lost" and the 20th Anniversary box set, the writing process of Meteora, the evolution of the band, "Fighting Myself", new music for Scream VI, and more!

When asked about the expectations from the fans about the band, he said:
"I'll say this way. Normally, I'm really trying to just manage expectations a little bit, especially lately in the last few years. It's like, there are certain things that are going to be on the table, certain things that are off the table. With this release, shockingly, I was like, 'I don't think there's very much to say it's off the table. Touring is the only thing, we're not touring right now. But the rest of their immagination, where I know their heads are gonna go, it's like, 'Oh, is there this? Is there that? Can we do this? Can we do that?'... I think to a lot of that it's a yes."

    He concluded saying:
"There's just more music. So, I've got stuff I've produced that are other people's songs, got my own song, and we got the Linkin Park stuff. And that's not even everything that we're gonna be doing around this for Linkin Park fans. So, this is a great time to be a Linkin Park fan."

"Mike Shinoda stopped by the KROQ studios for a conversation with host Nicole Alvarez about Linkin Park's brand new song "Lost," the band's forthcoming #Meteora 20th anniversary box set, and reveals he has a solo track in the latest 'Scream' movie."

  2. Tune in to YouTube on February 16 at 11:00am EST for a YouTube Premium Afterparty for Linkin Park's new "Lost" music video.

  3. lol if you really pay attention, which we haven't, we can see Fiore hiding shit right in our faces for 15+ years.

The Live in Texas TV special has proshot clips of the Seoul show, and it looks great. It also has proshot video of Tokyo Budokan Night 2, which would be great to have someday. That was an epic show, but Seoul is definitely the one to release from the tour as it was a stadium.

LPTV PR04 has Denver proshot clips all over it, which are easy to tell now because that venue has no roof like a traditional amphitheater. He's very smart with editing because he will hide it in the beginning, middle and end around other clips but if you pay attention, it's all there. How did we not recognize this years ago?

Entirely possible Manila footage is the stuff hanging out at the end of the LPTV Europe/Asia episode from before PR04 too, but we've never seen video/photos/anything from that show so we don't know.

All of this was hiding plain as day for years. Just like the PR02 DVD clip was hiding in the Making of Meteora when Don Gilmore was talking about Chester.

  4. The thing about "Lost" is it's just speculation, we don't have anything confirmed that says that song is coming from the website so we can't set unrealistic expectations. Warner leaked stuff and at least some of that was placeholder information like the DVD title. I'm sure Lost is on the CD, sure, but is it the song coming from linkinpark.com? Who knows.

But whatever they do at the end of the website thing will be awesome. They don't let us down on these teaser campaigns, they always deliver. The HT20 one was A+.

The Funkopop on the left shelf, thats actually MTM. IDK why they put MTM funkopop.

    Mini-Recorder = Tapes

Key = Drawer (there must be a recovery drive).

Spray canister = paint (Making Of Meteora/The Art Of Meteora DVD)

MTV VMA Viewer's Choice 2004 trophy (spaceman) = Breaking The Habit

LP Tag = LP Tickets (on the bulletinboard)

Somebody Angry (but the word angry is crossed out) Broken = one of the Lost Demos track

Gundam Figure = Somewhere I Belong

Red Binder with unused Lithograph  = Work In Progress DVD

Meteora UK Platinum = Meteora UK Limited Album Edition

Two Stickers on the black drawer = Fort Minor

The mountainous pictures (from bulletinboard) = LP Live Tour in South Korea and Phillipines.

These were based on the list of M20thAE from Warner website.

This is fucking awesome. Love all the little teasers to figure stuff out. They know this fanbase and definitely read the room correctly, giving us a good teaser campaign. The band's website looks good.

To be honest, just a normal countdown to reveal all the info today would have been pretty lame because they did so much more for Hybrid Theory 20. The "Pictureboard" -> "InYourself.mp3" thing was so cool, and the band emails, file names, etc. Loved all of that.

Looking forward to more of the Meteora stuff. We already know the package is coming in March, no reason to rush an announcement if they can do a cool unveiling of it. Nice work by them so far, because building on the whole computer theme from HT (which is still very relevant for Meteora) is sweet.

I have a doubt, can anyone tell me if the HT20 Super deluxe box set was limited when it was announced?

Why when the MT20 was leaked on the Warner website it said "Limited Super Deluxe Edition" will we have a limitation this time?

another question is, will the amazon store advertise?
I had problems with the HT20 box and had to buy it again, but I bought it through amazon.

HT20 is still available everywhere. "Limited Super Deluxe Edition" etc is just sales marketing to get people to buy it. There are enough for fans lol

A proshot of the Meteora North American tour would have been cool. Ok, we have a lot of footage from the tour, but oh well... Good thing they didn't choose Rock am Ring 2004. At HT20 I found it a bit annoying that they chose Rock am Ring there.🙄

In any case, hot that such a large package appears at all! 😈

As we said in 2020, they wanted to release something else in the RaR spot but weren't able to. There are still plenty of HT shows to release for HT30, HT40, etc.

Docklands 01 would have been epic

what appeared at the HBO Reverb was so freaking good and the audio from that show its badass.

They need to put the audio on vinyl for sure. Was just thinking about that yesterday. That's an epic show.

  7. They definitely have more than what he is leading on. This amount of content for Meteora that is released they have for MTM, but they released the MTM songs with vocals already. But that's ok, put them on a CD anyway. And a few demos. ATS, LT, THP, OML may have a few fully finished non-album songs but they definitely have demos for days. Imagine how many demos MTM, ATS, and OML have. THP and LT may not have nearly as many but that's totally ok.

Did not know that about the song board. What else is interesting about it? What other songs had vocals that we only have in instrumental form?

Not super surprised because Cumulus is such a great demo and is better than some of the album tracks, even.
