But in a live CD they would have to cut tracks, that's the only issue

Then this is a great opportunity to use the new version of the LPU to release a show exclusively to them digitally, and pick Munich 08 or some show on that tour with RME.

  2. The LIT on streaming and vinyl is not an exact version of the DVD. It's missing some in between song banter and the start of the show is different, for example with the audio. It's more of "the CD with the extra DVD songs thrown in", not an exact audio version of the DVD.

The LPU 3 versions are slightly different, at least on 1-2 songs. So yes the LPU 3 ones are exclusive. Maybe not APFMH and ALL of them, but some. Those versions are not on the 2023 LIT in Meteora 20.

  3. Thanks!

What were the differences between the Nottingham version they did last year and the re-edit they did to release now on Meteora|20? The mixing is incredible on this and was done from the multitracks, a huge quality upgrade from the original release. Maybe the one they did originally last year was just the same original radio mix or something?

  4. Joe sat down with HITZ Radio in Malaysia to talk about Meteora|20, which you can watch here.

"Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn sits down to tell us all about #Meteora’s 20th anniversary, the success of the album, the limited edition super deluxe box set, unreleased material and more!  #HITZSpeaks #HITZMorningCrew"

  5. Would be nice to have a vinyl rip of Nottingham 2003 somehow, since the track splits are a little off in the release:
    - Rob cymbal taps to start the song are cut from the Hit the Floor track

    - Krwlng intro to Crawling is cut from the Crawling track

    - In the End intro sample is cut from the In the End track
    - Rob cymbal taps to start the song are cut from the One Step Closer track

A little bothersome, not too much, but would be nice to have a vinyl rip to track it properly.

Edit: Check the start of From the Inside, looks like maybe one cymbal tap from that is cut out and is on the track prior?

  6. They can do it. There is plenty of material for MTM.

Webster Hall "making of" footage. Summer Sonic 2006 if they want with QWERTY. Clarkston 2007. MSG 2008 in house video feed if they want. Put Berlin 2008 on vinyl. Put a 2008 Reading My Eyes show out there, like Munich 2008 in house feed. KROQ Acoustic Christmas 2007 is a great show. They may have more stuff on video that we don't know about.

    My picks for live shows:

    DVD: Summer Sonic 2006

    DVD: Rock am Ring 2007

    DVD: Clarkston 2007

    DVD: KROQ Acoustic Christmas 2007
    Vinyl: Berlin 2008

maybe a live CD or something of Munich 2008, some show with RME

    150 demos lol

  7. Absolutely love them all. Really great releases, giving us a ton of awesome footage we've wanted for ages - especially the Figure.09/From the Inside transition and Breaking the Habit/Numb transition. Projekt Revolution 2002 and 2004 proshots are probably the two "most wanted" shows to be released in the community and they did those with HT20 and Meteora 20.

    1. Denver. My favorite because of the setlist, probably my favorite they have ever done. All of the intros, outros, and everything are just great and that's when Chester's screaming was just absolutely wild during the show. Wish into One Step Closer is just epic. What can I say... amazing show.

    2. Seoul. Crowd is so crazy and the band's energy rocks. It's the night time / full production version of the Live in Texas show so we get the good lighting and even an extended setlist - Nobody's Listening and My December are very cool. Didn't know Chester sat on the front of the stage at this time to sing My December. The encore blows the entire building up... APFMH is chaos.

    3. Manila. Night time version of the Rock am Ring show. Great crowd and performance, the band is in the zone at this. Again, an insane encore at this one too. Very good show.

    4. Philly. The mixdown of the cameras bothers me for who they focus on during certain points on the songs. It's a great show and the crowd seems rowdier than the Live in Texas crowds in Houston and Dallas, actually. But LP has always had an incredibly fan base in Philly/Camden.

One day would love a Meteora arena tour show from early 2004 and an audio pro mix of the Projekt Rev 2004 set then I am completely set on the Meteora era as far as live releases go. Very good box set!

  8. The only song completely finished and wrapped up for Meteora for album inclusion was Lost. And they cut it. They had More the Victim in their pocket if they needed another song for an international bonus track or something. And if they needed even more than those two, they could have looked at pulling others. Fighting Myself was still in demo form, Mike built that song up in 2022. Quite doubtful that song would have come out in 2003/2004 for a bonus track or anything because Chester's vocals are unfinished on that.

Quite simply, you see Brad picking the notes of the verse and playing individual strings. He is not playing a chord. But we are in the chorus right now.

Rob should be hitting the snare at this point, but he's not.

For me, this means that either two cameras are running asynchronously or something else is going on. If you want, I can send you a PM where you can see it. Of course this is not tragic in the first moment. But if this happens over the whole DVD I find it disturbing, because you think the DVD player or the DVD has an error. 🤔

It was edited just for the Twitter clip. On the DVD it is Mike and Chester until the end of the song until you see Rob at the very end. So, no errors. They just put a clip on Twitter edited to promote it.

  10. The songs are available to stream on LP's YouTube.

So, glad we didn't ask a question to the band about Serpent and Nocturnal. There is no Serpent, it's Shortcut which is Fighting Myself. And they are working on a fourth unknown song.

So, Nocturnal is either Numb or Nobody's Listening. And one doesn't have a title yet (the other song that isn't Nocturnal). The new photo from the DVD clears up a lot. And as we know now, Resolution = Lost.

Have you seen the Veterans Stadium 2003 DVD? I suspect that there are editing errors at the end of Numb, for example. They are only short cuts, but at one point Brad plays the notes of the verse instead of the chords and Rob plays the drums completely out of sync. Last chorus from Numb, can you confirm that @LPLStaff?

Why do you think that? Haven't seen it. That show was also filmed with just a few cameras (all of them were) so editing something would be odd unless they were trying to get more band members in view and the black screens were during that part or something.

Context: Sometimes some of the shows have the black screens due to them being in-house feeds, but not during the Denver transitions. :)

Can't get enough of Nottingham, been listening all day.

It's a combination of a slightly better source than the DVD and AI upscaling. In some cases the AI upscaling artifacts are super obvious (for example in fast camera sweeps above the crowd) but the result wouldn't be this good if the source was the original DVD quality.

Good to know. It looks really good on a computer.

t seems to look at most a 540p, not even 720p. Maybe someone will ask this things during the Worldwide Q&A.

    Anyway, waiting for the DVDs.

On the Texas DVD it only says: "Filmed with Panavision cameras and lenses".

There are things the band isn't involved with for releases lol, they would have literally no idea about this. Mike doesn't even remember from 2022 if he sang on Massive or not. The label and management do the things like upgrade quality on things (music videos, etc) and do the animated videos on YouTube for the songs, etc. Not a shot that Mike, Dave, Brad, and whoever else shows up Monday would know anything about what quality or method was used on Live in Texas in 2023 lol

I'll post it one last time, but I assume people will ignore it because it doesn't fit their narrative: Living Things, One More Light and the new Lost mix sound the way they do because that's how the band wants them to sound, not because of the person who mixed it. A mixing engineer has no creative freedom and they won't be able to turn the volume of guitars for example down, just because they think it's better and the band has to live with it. A mixing engineer is just there to bring the vision of the artist alive by applying their craftsmanship to make that sound work, and Manny is pretty much one of the best when it comes to that. If I recall correctly both Mike and Brad are in the room for the whole mixing process so they could always raise their voice if they think the output is not what they have envisioned.

Does that mean you have to like the way the guitars are more muted on those albums and tracks? No, absolutely not, you don't. But the responsibility for that sound is on the band, not the mixing engineer.

Also I will take the bait but the people who prefer the old mix seem like the typical "louder guitars = gooder music!!" group but I'll just leave that topic alone now.

Nailed it. Lost needed a modern mix for the 2023 release.

WTF? for real? this is like the very first mention of Bert? OMG!!!

    which other guests appear?

Joanthan Davis and there is a camera on the stage, like IN the stage, right in his face. Really cool.

Manila is filmed with literally like 3 cameras total and the show is just incredible.

  14. That LPA letter is in the press copy, I think. Not the main copy.

Lost 2023 mix is much better than the 2002 mix, they made a great decision to mix it fresh again for 2023 standards and not be so bludgeoning for the guitars.

Live shows - the DVDs are not professionally filmed for release. Remember, they filmed Live in Texas and then had Detroit and Rock am Ring on TV so there was no need to record more shows. So these are venue feeds of what was on the screens. Manila is like 3 cameras only and it's EPIC. Denver has like, cameras that were built in on the stage so you are inches from Jonathan Davis's face, etc... I mean the shows are just insane. Yes the transitions between songs are there in video. It's all there... the intros (Gacela) and Slayer 2003 were licensed for this release so they cut absolutely nothing. None of the DVDs look bad at all, they just aren't Live in Texas style with a billion dollars of production equipment filming it everywhere, it's more minimalist but you see everything, have everything there. They are AMAZING.

Nottingham's quality upgrade is amazing. Hit the Floor and Easier to Run are both very good on there, wow. And Live in Texas's videos are upgraded on YouTube too. Man, this is so epic.
