I respect your command, I will not post about my dislike for them anymore. It's more that I dislike their attitude, because some of their music is ok.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I cannot fucking wait for this tour to be over and I can forget about Thirty Seconds To Mars. I have never hated a band, but I'm growing increasingly more hatred for Thirty Seconds To Mars every time that I read anything about them on my favorite Linkin Park fansite.
-
Weird. Maybe he should just hit up a couple places on each tour. Obviously the system they have right now isn't really pleasing the fans, because I see people complaining about lack of LPTV on LPL, LPA, YouTube, etc. I do like the footage that Mark films in the studio when the band is making an album, but his tour footage has become shit.
-
I actually liked the movie a lot and I will buy it on Blu-Ray when it's officially released in stores in the US. But yeah, the music is definitely attracting more attention from the fans. Maybe he shouldn't have included so many unreleased LP songs in the movie, I guess. Maybe if he just used 1 unreleased LP song and did basic score work like Mike did with The Raid, people would have paid more attention to the movie.

I think LP's arena tour in 2011 was pretty successful, so I think they will probably stick with similar venues. I'll probably attend MSG and Boston if they are. They didn't do Boston in 2008 but did NH, and didn't do NH in 2011 and did Boston, so I think it'd be pointless to do both on the same tour since they are so close to each other. Maybe they would do Mohegan Sun again, but I doubt it, because they canceled it in 2011 and the crowd was weak and small at the 2012 show.

Ah. Probably to avoid legal issues. For what it's worth, the songs sound much better in the actual movie than they do from the LPA videos, almost like a totally different song. Another interesting thing is that ''Milk'' or whatever that demo was called from the ATS era is in the movie, just with no vocals. They play a pretty large segment of it before Mal is about to enter the Mall. I know it's ''Milk'' or whatever it was called because it's featured in the StageLight pack. EDIT: Just watched the movie again. In the final scene, this song is playing. This ''full version'' is a slowed down version of what is in the movie and it's very easy to see how someone could edit out the small voice clip that is going on during the end of the song.

So are they going to release a proper third album or just keep releasing EP's and the like?
-
Does anyone else think it's cool that the beginning of A Line In The Sand was originally an ATS demo?
-
Yes, that irritated me. Fiore is always filming shit, whether it be in the studio, live, backstage, etc. I see no reason why they can't release more footage for us with LPTV/LPUTV. He also films everything so there shouldn't be a skip in the middle of the tour, special shows, etc. I don't know why, but it kind of bugs me a lot.

STP just announced a show at Foxwoods in Connecticut on Halloween. I'll definitely be there. Will be my second time seeing them. Can't fucking wait. Let's rock.
-
Yup. ATS is LP's baby. You can tell they all really love the album and enjoyed playing it live. I will admit, ATS has grown on me quite a bit. I love the album. I've been listening to DSP's from 2010 and 2011 as well and they are good. The ATS era was a good time.

This LPTV is much better than the recent episodes we have been getting. Still not as good as it was from 2007-2013, but it's better than the recent episodes. I hope we get a LPTV for Warped Tour, Comic Con and then Carnivores episodes. I don't like when LPTV skips over special shows or large amounts of time because LPTV is meant to chronicle LP's story as it progresses, at least that is what it says on LPU and the reason why I enjoy LPTV so much...

This is cool. Thanks for this.

I haven't been to as much shows as Hahninator, but I've been to 19 LP shows and I've also seen FM, DBS and STPWCB more than once. I've been to Warped Tour a few times in the past as well. I don't know a lot about any of the bands that Hahninator mentioned, like Muse, RHCP, etc., but I do know that LP is definitely ''unique'' in how they perform shows. I've been going to LP shows ever since their first US show in 2007 and I've seen the band change since then, they're like a totally different band now, almost. The set is lacking a lot of punch, it's just not the same. Honestly, it wouldn't kill them to play APFMH, FTI, WTCFM, etc. APFMH was rehearsed and played at Download just a few months ago, I mean cmon. WTCFM was rehearsed and played in Vegas earlier this year. FTI wouldn't be hard to bring back, when is the last time they played, recently in 2012, right? I don't think think they will bring back shit like Figure.09, By Myself, Forgotten, Reading My Eyes, etc, but I don't think giving us APFMH should be that big of a deal. We know that Chester thinks that ITE and OSC are ''pieces of shit'' but they still play those, right? Because Chester wants to make the fans happy. Brad shouldn't be able to dictate what they play, but I can almost guarantee he is the reason they won't play APFMH. I just recently watched the Carnivores video on Live Nation again, and Mike says that they created a set in which there is never a stop, it's like one big song. I don't really like that. I miss the old days when the band would interact with the crowd even a little bit. Now they just play interludes and stuff like that during that time. I don't like the shortened songs at all. I hope the next album cycle will have regular sets again. I don't even care if GATS is the only song they play from THP, honestly. Astat mentioned earlier that bands like KISS only will play the lead single from their new album now because they have so much music, I honestly wouldn't care, as long as they bring back some old fan favorites and don't play shortened shit. -

Rakim not showing up at any of the East Coast shows (especially NY, his home), was ridiculous. Jay-Z has joined the band multiple times when they play in his area (NY is his home as well) and he came out at the Holmdel 2004 show, as well as the Madison Square Garden 2008 show. If Daron comes out at the Hollywood Bowl show and does Rebellion, that would be great. I think there current set flows all too well and quickly, not leaving much time for special things. In the past, they would talk inbetween songs, etc, but not it seems they just made random medleys and interludes to flow in between songs, that way there is never a pause in the show. I'm not sure how Rakim or Daron would really have time to be properly introduced if Guilty is literally the first song of the set and Rebellion is in the first half. -

If anything special is ever going to happen on this tour, my bet is on the Hollywood Bowl show. -

Well, it was confirmed that Brad wasn't interested in playing guitar on the past few cycles (ATS & LT eras). He was helping Mike with producing and programming and was adding a lot of electronic stuff, etc. There was an interview with Revolver from a few months back in which Mike basically said he had to tell Brad to ''stop being a pussy'' and pick up the guitar and start writing with it again. So essentially, Brad was forced to play guitar on this album. It was also said in the same interview I believe, that the only other people who were on board with it at first were Chester and Phoenix, but the rest of the band ''came around'' and enjoyed writing the album. That could be a load of crap, though, because it's entirely possible that Brad, Rob and Joe didn't want to write heavy rock music but just said ok because the rest of the band wanted to, I think they would let Mike take the creative direction in what way he wanted to go. The point I am making here is that Brad definitely did enjoy the more electronic, melodic stuff. I saw LP play 3 times during the ATS cycle, both in 2010 and 2011 and I saw them play 4 times in the LT cycle, both in 2012 and 2013. Brad looked like he was having a blast on stage during all of those shows, especially on the HCT and SSMF show. I don't think Brad really enjoys playing the super heavy stuff and same old songs. But who knows. We already know that he doesn't like APFMH. Maybe he doesn't like stuff like By Myself, Forgotten, Don't Stay, Figure.09, No More Sorrow, etc., either. They can't FORCE Brad to play songs that he doesn't want to, since he is their lead guitarist and all, they need him. -
Obviously it was just FM beats and old stuff, since he had a lot of projects he did over the years with that as well. I would welcome new FM though, that would be epic.

Joe is famous for being on his phone during the show, Q & A, Interviews, etc. Also, that's funny about the STP thing.
-
The interesting thing here is that when I watched the movie, the songs in the movie sounded much different than what LPA has posted. They were the same exact songs, but the pitch was very different and it was odd. You can even hear it in some of the clips that were released from MALL, they sound different than the LPA posted songs. I wonder if this is even legit or if someone just made polished it up to make it sound like an official release, someone could do a copy and paste job and get rid of that minimal dialogue at the end of the song.
-
LPAssociation has posted a new thread containing a full song from MALL. I am not sure if it's Mike Shinoda's official YouTube page (probably not) but it's interesting, to say the least. I hope we get the songs from MALL at some point. Joe said at the Summit that there might be an unofficial release, that we will get them somehow. Idk. http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41179

You are missing some things. Also you are missing all DSP's, because those were ''official releases'' online by LP. And if you are gonna include side projects, you should include STPWCB stuff, as well as digital versions of stuff like Karma Killer, Slow Ya Roll, Carry Me Away, Home Sweet Home, etc.

That's really cool that they were giving out candy and water and interacting with the show, etc. The guards were sort of like that in Wantagh, and I wasn't up front at any of the other shows on this tour, so I don't know if they were like that. Wantagh was pretty cool though, I'm sure Chester wouldn't have wanted to bring his children on stage if the crowd and venue weren't cool. But yeah, that STP show, the security was outrageous. Kicked my friend out of line and wouldn't let him in because ''he was drunk'' even though we had no alcohol at all and it was because he sat down on the ground instead of stood and waited like the rest of the people in line. I was shocked. Then he was yelling at people for just having fun, stuff like what LPxDC did with the bottles of beer thing at NYC 2010 and the Lady Gaga thing, etc. I mean seriously? And during the show, if someone takes a picture or a short video, what is the big deal? They were very aggressive and would literally just pull people out of the crowd, there were a lot of arguments, etc. -

Yeah, the album is good. But they announced the first single WAY too early. It wasn't a good choice for a first single, either, which is shown through the facts. They chose AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars as support acts for their US version of their touring cycle, both of which are not visceral or heavy. AFI is a good band, but I was thinking of bands like Of Mice & Men, Avenged Sevenfold, etc. The set is mostly just big singles for casual fans and they have made a set in which almost every ''big'' hit is performed. This is why they shortened songs, so they could fit all their huge hits into one set, only allowing room for maybe 4 songs that aren't huge hits, like Rebellion, Final Masquerade or Guilty All The Same. Their is no LPTV this cycle, which blows. The band doesn't seem into the live show and M & G's as much as they were in the past. This is the first LP album to not hit #1 in the charts, etc. -

Certain venues just have different security. Some are cool, some aren't. When I saw STP with Chester last year at the House Of Blues in Boston, the security guy was the biggest asshole ever. I liked the venue and show, but seriously, he was kicking people out that were waiting IN LINE before the show for very minor things. Also, if you took pics or video during the show with your phone or camera, you got thrown out, at least the people in the front did.
