  1. Thanks for pointing out the WPB thing, I had never noticed that. I think thats the only time they did something like that. That is a terrific show and a terrific BTH along with a nice little instrumental piece and speech from the band that was seriously lacking in 2008. Nice observation.
  2. As one of the few people on here, I believe, that knows Mr. Terrell personally, this isn't my only medium in which to congratulate him, but I will so, congratulations Mark! And yes, HS graduation is a big deal in America, I don't care what anyone says.
  3. Good LPTV, but a bit short, not their best. Mike and Chaz's hair are interesting to view. Anyone else just find it weird to hear Chester say : "And we're touring with Linkin Park in on the summer tour in Europe or Asia." Just weird to hear Chester say it that way, first time DBS has been on tour. And while I doubt it, I think it maybe possible Howard Benson, producer of DBS album, might be the producer LP got. Like I said I doubt it, but it's possible. I still think its just Mike and they are just going to wait longer for an official annoucement. And all you people, don't come around saying Benson can't do two projects at once because Chester is so, please.
  4. The vagueness of the "producer" quote leads me to believe the producer is Mike himself. If they have half of the music done, wouldn't it be a bit of a shakeup to bring in a new face this late in the game? Mike has produced a lot of their work, including New Divide, and I definitely see him being the only one on the back cover.
  5. No mention of the "concept album" lately makes me wonder if that kinda took a sidestep out the door. Who knows. I just thought it would be brought back up. Mike will be rapping on this album, and I think it will be very much in the mold of what we have been experiencing in the POA intro/outro mold. I think it would be sweet to hear him lay down a new LP verse with some nice drum loop like the one they used on tour with some bass on there. Also, There They Go was sweet on PR 08, lots of energy and great instrumentals.
  6. I'm pretty positive its not going to be as challenging as people think to play this song live. C'mon? The vocals will be fairly tough for Chester to nail every night, but I don't see how they can't play this song, because, c'mon, its probably going to be about the only different thing they play on this upcoming Summer jaunt. I could see it opening a show much in the same way WID did last year in Europe. While I don't have much problem whatsoever hearing the bass in 95% of all other LP songs, I am having a hard time picking up the bass in this track even though all of you are saying its obvious. I know its there, I'm just having a hard time picking it up. This is definitely WID sequel. Anyone can come and tell me the guitars are different tuning, different chords, blah blah, I know. But, as a music listener, it sounds similar in design and the lyrics are fairly similar. Guitar around the bridge sounds exactly like the rhythm guitar in WID in same part. I have listened to it a few more times and I do like it. Like I said, it really has a great instrumental part from first to start, its a fast mid-tempo song and I really like that. Chester's vocals/lyrics are very poppy, but they have grown on me a bit more. Still, as always, think they could added more... longer breakdown and add Mike in a place he wouldn't usually come in at in vocals (bridge, outro?). It's growing on me but I still hate the Top 40 vibe it gives. It's got a lot of JK-DBS influence that is for sure. Much more than old LP and FM. Thing that bothers me with all these people who are like OMGZ BEST SONG EVER, LOVE THEM LOVE THEM is in all likelihood, if this same song was released by like Panic at the Disco or All-American Rejects, you wouldn't even give it its time of day because of its structure. I am not one to worship LP just because its LP.
  7. Well, here goes. Instrumentally, the song owns. No, as usual, its nothing that's going to blow anyone away as far as skill goes but it has a rockin' beat to it and the drums are quite different. Love the beat in the intro, which is excellent. The breakdown is fantastic but wayyy to short. I felt like it was really going to get into something big but it didn't - however, it is still a nice and unusual LP piece. However, the vocals are terrible. Chester sounds like he is singing from a computer and I don't care how many other songs are layered, all that BS. This song actually sounds like the vocals are much louder than the other instruments. I understand Joe has a lot going on in the song, but I am also fairly disappointed there are not much scratching... he is a DJ anyways. The fact of Mike becoming a "2nd wheel" type of member in the band has taken its time to get used to, but its where he is with the band with these types of songs. Yeah, we all know his role is big, probably the biggest of any member, but in the real actuality of the song, he is missing a lot and that is also disappointing. As of right now, only fully listened to the song once and I like it. It's not great, and hugely mainstream. Extremely poppy. All obvious stuff. If the vocals were not so loud and fake-sounding, and Chester's melody not so poppy, the song would be great to me. I am 50-50 on the future of LP's sound if this, as a whole, is the direction they want to continue going. I feel a lot of uniqueness has left LP since 2006, and New Divide continues that. *Just saw the official time of the song at 4:29 and that is fairly impressive as well for a mid-tempo LP song. I thought for sure this would be a typical 3:15-20 job. Also, fairly, fairly encouraging to hear Shinoda say they are tired of 2-4 years between records even though, in the end, it appears it will be around 3 years between MTM and this new record.
  8. So far, instrumentally the song is A+ in my book, just listened to the intro and Its stellar. Not a fan of the Chester clip, but that is not the whole song and its not in the best of quality so I will still leave that open for Monday. I like the tempo of the guitar a lot better than that of WID but the rhythm parts are similar - at least in sound.
  9. Actually I'm not a musician and I'm not a song writer but I know good lyrics when I see them and like I said, what I hear in the snippet and see in the photos, don't seem like much. I think Chester, who also, no one ever said wrote the lyrics, said last week that the lyrics "were gonna change gravity" or something. C'mon. Give me a break. I'm certainly not an LP hater - why the hell would I be here? But I am CERTAINLY not one of those people who loves everything LP puts out because its LP. I, as a fan, have the right to judge snippets, 1 second clips, or a song for a whole month. You don't care about my critique? Who cares? Don't read it. Thank you.
  10. I like the instrumental in the trailer, surprisingly enough. I can definitely see the comparisons to WID musically and rationally. With this being Transformers 2 and WID being basically the lead song for T1, I am kinda considering this a "song sequel" if you will. I like the drumming and the guitar rhythm. However, the vocal snippet is terrible and nothing but electronic-pop-rock. Definitely won't make any final judgments until Monday and then I probably really won't know till about a month after listening to the track many times to really feel it. I think it will be a good track, but nothing mind-blowing (lyrics are mediocre from what I can tell already, I'm not sure what Chester is smoking when he bragged on them so much).
  11. How about its a combination of all the above? Does that suit you?
  12. I almost guarantee it has. They have a strict deadline with this deal rather than the album. And you have to know Mike has the biggest hand in the scoring and making of the new song, so if there focused on making this song as "epic" as they claim once again, you have to know this has slowed them down. It's certainly not the only reason and I'm not necessarily saying if LP wasn't doing this deal, the album would be out any sooner. But, if your working on two huge, separate deals, it will slow the one that doesn't need to be rushed down.
  13. Interesting title. This is good, It will be definitely be in the mold of What I've Done. While its great we get to hear a new element of LP persay with this track and scoring, this is obviously one of the biggest reasons to have come to light that the album is backtracked to early 2010. Its quite apparent right now that they have focused more of their time right now since the movie is due out in a month an half on this deal than the actual album. It's great to hear something new and I hope the song will kickass and I also hope they get back to making the record, because there once again taking their sweet ass time with everything.
  14. Definitely new LP, no way its not. This just instantly struck me as very similar to everything they have been saying and it hits the nail on the coffin with the Mike description. This is definitely LP.
  15. The pictures have to be a bit old because Brad, according to his latest MFR video, has no more fro.
  16. Montreal is an excellent show - you are dead on the money, the crowd is so loud during the first encore, Mike evens gets a bit antsy and tells them to quiet down. That show is also one of, if not the, best shows from the MTM cycle. Nashville (especially after WID into Faint is also extremely loud). Rock am Ring 04 and 07 are just insane, especially on Faint and One Step Closer. Anyone who was at those shows are just lucky peoples. For the most part, all international shows are gonna trump any show in the States. It goes for most bands and sports even - Americans are just notoriously known to not be as "into it" as far as big events go as a whole compared to international countries.
  17. The new music will be nothing more than what QWERTY was in SS 06.
  18. First off - NIN opening for MCR. What a joke. Never thought I would see that. Secondly, Beyonce? Seriously? You got Five Finger Death Punch, then Mastodon a little later, then finally... Beyonce? Give me a break. This whole summer jaunt in Europe and Japan appears to be nothing more than a slightly extended LP version of "Get out of the studio" tour. They did only SS in 06 and now they are just doing a few more. Meaning, the way I see it now ( which totally blows me away considering I really and truly thought the album would be here by THIS summer for a PR 09 in the States) we will probably have an album out around the same time MTM came out: April/May '10 - and that totally blows.
  19. Apparently you misread me. I was saying they meet 4-7 times a week as in why in the world do they need to email stuff back in forth. Ive always had a grudge against there seemingly mechanical ways of doing things since MTM was recorded. They are admittingly different than many bands in the way they record. It just seems odd to be for Mike to always post about emailing Chester or the other guys. Just seems so impersonal when they have been great friends and bandmates for such a good while. Its probably just me and my "impersonalness" with the computer.
  20. Robs hair looks terrible. Thats about all I got from that. This will probably be yet another song that never makes it or if it does, is nothing like Mike just described. I think the one thing I really dislike about LP is the fact that they are so robotic and mechanical in their music making. Chester and him "emailing" lyrics? Cmon? Band meetings every Monday. I know you have to be professional and its a business but there a freaking rock band that meets at least 4-7 times a week if not more. Just always seem they are so perfect and professional sometimes, to me, it leaves out some creativity that they had in the past.
  21. LOL your not going to europe son, stop the nonsense now. maybe a la sprickens can help you out though as far as that couch goes.
  22. considering USA is their home, and compared to other tours, MTM touring in USA was pretty minimal compared to the other years.
  23. hate to say it, but im pretty dissapointed. i was really looking forward to a LP album in the next months - esp since i actually believed it was probable along with PR 09. now, there is really no idea when they will come to the states. thankfully, there are a lot of other bands playing great shows this year but this is pretty disapointing to myself.
  24. While I'll admit I thought PR 09 was a for sure, new album dropped or not, I have faced the certainty that PR 09 will NOT happen. Maybe a slim 5% chance for a Winter 2009-10 USA arena tour, but doubtful. It appears most of LP's playing this year will be overseas.
