  1. Crawl Back In is a fair song. Chorus is not bad. Fire is terrible. First time I heard that song. The last song is Ok, screaming/echo is cool. This setlist is does nothing for me and neither does DBS.
  2. From what I've seen, as mechanical as anything seen during Projekt Rev. 08. Lively has nothing to do with it. They could basically record a previous night show, and play it over the loudspeakers with them out there and it would be the same stuff.
  3. Terrible webcast. Band looks mechanical as ever. Chester doesn't sound good but he doesn't sound awful. When is this band gonna realize setlists CAN be changed?
  4. Totally agree. Session opening a show is a joke - I don't care if I've seen it or not, an instrumental song belongs nowhere in the set when you can have another song in its place. Anyone can slam me, I don't care, but I, once again, think its extremely inexcusable of the band to not switch up the setlist. I don't consider changes to POA major changes, although its nice to hear. I'm sure everyone there that has seen them, love it... why wouldn't they. But it would be nice for LP to play some of their older material before it gets lost for good when they have to play newer stuff when a new record drops. Session and a change in beat/verse on POA doesn't cut it for me.

    My Suffering

From what I hear, out of my personal taste, I won't be a big fan of this album. In those Stuggart videos, he sings in such a different tone than what he does for a lot of LP songs, I just don't prefer it. However, I hope it is good, I will certainly be checking out the CD when it comes out.
  6. Chester still won't complete the massive YOU after the LFY bridge. He does do the full choruses before the bridge too which is nice and rare from the MTM cycle days. New POA intro sounds very nice.
  7. Best Brad Faint solo I have heard. That was a hell of a version of Faint. Seems like they added about 5 seconds to the outro right after the solo or maybe its just me? The outro seemed longer than usual. Nice video and nice jam - lights were sweet and good to see Joe in action.
  8. I have said nothing about whether the show is good or bad. To be honest, I like the songs played. I love Points of Authority, Lying From You, No More Sorrow. I love all that shit. However, I have seen it and heard it numerous times and its time for a damn change. I don't think anyone hear could disagree with that unless you are just content with having LP plays the same setlists year after year. Also, that last point... please. They can easily rehearse older songs a week before they play and be ready to play an older song. They are professional musicians. This has nothing to do with Chester's voice. And obviously I would want a solid show from the band over a bad show with older (or newer, however, you want to look at it) material. What type of question is that? Do you not see I'm simply wanting the band to bring back older songs and just simply do something (more) different than what this setlist brings. This has nothing to do with performance or anything.
  9. Alright. Ever since the MTM cycle started, we all here, whether on LPLive or at the LPU, have made our opinions be known. We are fans. I don't give a shit if I wasn't at the show... that is the whole point of this fucking web site is to let the people WHO DIDN'T go to those shows know what was played. Secondly, New Divide should have been expected without a doubt. Whether opening a show, in the middle, or, as many predicted, in the encore, there should have been no doubt this song was played even before the Transformers LA show. While it will be nice to hear this in rotation, I simply do not accept that this could be the "major" change to the setlist. Session opening a show... like I said I'm sure its nice to hear if you're at the show but let me also make a damn point... if all you people are saying this bullshit about casual fans and they can only play singles because of casual fans.... you really think all these casual fans at the show are going to know what Session is? If the lights didn't go out, they probably wouldn't even realize the house music stopped. And say what you will, but Session as the intro is a fucking joke. It's a damn instrumental song that is nothing more than a segue on an album.... Also, the DBS stuff. First off. LP is not DBS. DBS is not LP. What don't you understand? Again with all this casual fan BS, you think people who are those shows are going to know who the hell DBS is and why the hell the band behind Chester suddenly changed for a few songs? While it is pleasant to hear they are getting on the ball, I don't understand having DBS in LP's set. I think its LP's way of also saying "here, we can change the sets" without actually doing anything themselves. Much the same way of having SDC open shows and come back out in the encore, and having Chris Cornell come out on Crawling for PR 08, etc. This is a lack of originality from them by simply using guest acts inside their own sets but yet they use it as an excuse that their show is different each night. Sure, we could be like you, and be content with New Divide, yet another shuffle of the same songs, and OMG, a new intro to Points of Authority. However, I am not content. If there ever was a tour, they should and could play older shit, new shit, have fun with shit, this would be it. They've played the same songs for 2.5 years now, don't you think they could rotate some older stuff in? Maybe once try to appease hard core fans - who are simply asking for a few older songs that were staples in the set a long time ago, but have since been forgotten about - instead of the casual fans? It's really not that hard of a concept, lots of bands do it on a continuous basis with 100x the material LP has.
  10. What in the world? This is ridiculous. The setlist seen tonight is primarily the same shit we have seen for almost 2.5 years now from the MTM cycle. Songs like Points of Authority, Crawling, In The End, even One Step Closer, and hell even songs like Lying From You and Numb.... you would think the band would be overly exhausted of playing those songs since most of those songs and more have dominated the setlists the past oh what 6 years now. More for the HT songs? Songs like By Myself, With You, Figure, while they may not be big time radio hits, they are songs that are easily recognizable to even the casualest of LP fans... is it really too much to ask that they bring in a song like this, even in a rotation mode where they play one of these a different night? Most of these songs we would like back haven't been played on entire tour since way back in the day... PR 04 and beyond. Where in the world do you get them getting tired of playing OLD songs for 6 years? Hell its almost been 6 years since they've played those old tracks.... its time to bring them out? And what is this nonsense about this not being a full tour? Casual fans? Just because there are casual fans in attendance, they can't bring out one or two tracks from one or two of their first albums? What are they afraid no ones going to know the words? Give me a damn break.... Not all casual fans are 12 year girls who only know What I've Done and Numb..... None of their international tours, outside of maybe the winter 2008 one, are really straight-up tours in the mold of USA tours. There's usually some festival dates, some arena dates, some outdoor dates... what's different about this? While I know all the shows aren't in Europe, this whole tour has gotten fairly big when you add the Asia and Epicenter shows. No reason whatsoever why they couldn't spice the set up - and what a more perfect time to do it than a in-between year where no record is coming out, and the last time three times you toured Europe, you played all the singles and all the MTM crap. Time for something new, but its apparent LP cannot do that.
  11. Why in the hell should we NOT expect anything different? This is not a specific album tour, and if more so, if this is nothing more than a 'get me out of the freaking studio tour', why in the hell shouldn't they spice up the set? The fact that LP thinks they can parade the same songs out and everyone be OK with that is the fucking joke. I don't think anyone here, including me, is asking for much. But c'mon... the same bunch of songs? First 7-8 are always rockin', then it gets slow, then it gets to the ultra big sing-a-long like we have the past 8 years songs, then encore, then bam over. Not even an updated stage.
  12. Jesus H. Christ Time to rip into this mother. This is a terrible setlist. Some of y'all obviously are content with seeing and hearing the same shit over and over and over again but as someone who has seen LP 8 times during the MTM cycle and someone who listens to a ton of their live shows (and I mean a TON) this is a very disappointing setlist. I do not understand how LP can parade themselves as wanting to be the "best live act in the world" when they can't even rotate or incorportate older songs in the setlist or even, for the most part, new songs or new segues/intros/outros. This is a complete joke of the band. Session starting a show is a joke. While I'm sure its a treat to hear if you were there, that song is nothing but an instrumental seque for an album.... has no business opening a show. I really thought LP would be bringing back some older material like By Myself, With You, and/or Figure. While there is still a lot of shows where that could happen, I have a feeling LP will be like "Oh well for most shows we will have DBS play and of course, we have New Divide, you didn't hear that last year!" LP has guests in THEIR sets so they measly say they change their sets. What a joke. This setlist is a fucking joke. WHERE IS THE DIFFERENT MATERIAL!
  13. Good information. As I typically do, everyone is so concerned about the songs, what do you think stage setup will be like. Do you think it will be the same as what they used for PR 08 (black and white LINKIN PARK curtain and simple middle triangle stairs)? Do you think it will be different but still along the same lines Or do you think they will go out and have a pretty nice production since this whole two month tour is actually shaping up to be a fairly good size. What about lighting? Always exciting the first day of a tour.
  14. The thing I find interesting is bringing in Rubin so late in the game. I mean Shinoda has confirmed they have about half of the music done. It's odd to bring a producer in of Rubin's stature if you've already been working in the studio for 8-9 months so far. I was fully convinced it was Mike doing the record this time around. I don't like Rubin as a producer, and I'm not just talking MTM. It's also notable that they are staying at NRG instead of going to Rubin's like they did for most of MTM. I don't think Rubin will have as a big a part of changing the sound on this record as he did for the last. But I just think its real odd to bring him in so late in the game, and also when, on a few different occassions, Mike told us through various mediums they weren't going with RR this time, but maybe in the future. Either way, I have faith that this new album will kick MTM's ass.
  15. Loved the 3-shot view of New Divide. Excellent quality, excellent shots, and a very neat setting in the middle of a a LA boulevard. Observations that I liked: -Band looks on top of their game right now, very much like they did in 2006 for Summer Sonic. They seem renergized and Chester's back operation doesn't seem like it has caused him to stop performing like a madman on stage which is a huge plus. No More Sorrow and Faint would not be the same if he didn't go crazy like he does... and it was great to see he how well the band performed Faint and the outro. -The band, as they typically do in "new eras" already have a new "look" in my eyes. During the MTM run, Brad went from rock-in-ears to Indie style guy. He has changed his appearance the most out of any of them and it suits him well. He looks excellent, 100x better than he did in any MTM show or appearance. Joe has a slight new look as well and I really expect him to have much bigger role in the upcoming album and shows... during MTM shows, he just clearly looked like he didn't want to be there. Rob looks more glamourized, hate his hair, looks like a greaser. But overall, the band looks great. -New Divide, even though this was really the first time in front of a big audience sounds, really good. The audience videos, the intro was outstanding and loud as fuck. Really think that would be a good intro. -The setlists have to and will kick ass this summer. The band knows they can't be walking into this historic venues as a headliner with all those crazy metal heads and consistently play the slow shit. This isn't part of MTM cycle anymore, so I wouldn't be surprised to see LOATR/Shadow dropped from a few sets.
  16. I think New Divide will open a show this run. I think it might be the first song in Istanbul. However, it it might close, open an encore, or close the set. Who knows. I do think it would be a great song, much better than WID, to open the show. Key word there is "think." I believe older songs will be brought back. I'm not sure about rotating sets, 2 would sound about right. Who knows... they might really go rebel and try and shake things up on a nightly basis... that would be a great change of pace. PR 2008 was extremely mechanical after the "Busta Rhymes" dates.... it would be nice to see the band kind of ease into each song instead of it being exactly perfect and exactly on cue every single night. I'm willing to bet there will be some new things (and probably older things come back). I just really have a hard time believing LP can once again go out there with most of the same core sets with a few new songs here and there.
  17. The way I see it... its open to anyone. Why do so much advertising to come see LP for free the day of the show if its not
  18. These two tracks have allowed me to enjoy this song even more. I'll admit, I was definitely skeptical of this song when I started to hear the Chester clips coming in, but after more than a month of listening, this is one hell of a track. The instrumental version is outstanding. Love all the hidden stuff inside the verses. Yeah, obviously Chester is computerized as hell but that goes along with the movie and it sounds really cool. Mike on backup vocals during 2nd verse, as seen in video, is not surprising.
  19. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/interviews/...ld_be_epic.html Nice interview from Mike from Ultimate-guitar.com on front page. I like epic! Also, PR '10 should be a lock from the Carson Daly comments and this article!
  20. I find the quote interesting but I don't put much stock in the "twelve-to-fourteen" tracks. I'm sure it will be the same as MTM, twelve tracks on the record, with a probable intro like Wake, and a B-side that comes along like No Roads Left did. I don't see 14 tracks on an LP record. As far as the "anti-suck" comment goes, I find that very interesting. And good. I'd really like to know what Mike thinks "sucks" in the LP repertoire. That would be quite interesting. But the fact that he didn't answer the question, still keeps up in the air whether this will be a melodic, heavy, or a mix (likely) album.
  21. Sounds good outside of Jane's Addiction. Fairly diverse, could work well with LP. I suppose we will just have to wait for an official annoucement, but I would be very surprised if its someone other than Mike.
  22. I just think they have officially decided to go with Mike. For the past 7-8 months of writing in the studio, I think they were open to having a producer but just like Mike do the role... months and months later, he is still in that role so mine as well let him finish out the record. That's my thinking on it. I would think if they had a producer lined up, why hide it? Mine as well let it be known. However, if it's Mike, hide it and let the speculation begin, as it has. I'm not real familiar with music industry producers outside of Don Gilmore and the big names Rubin, and Benson, etc.
  23. Video is good, but I am glad everyone else is having the Myspace version problem because I was really scratching my heads at the quality. Interesting tidbit I got from this video is the obvious cost of this video and the 'intensity' of Joe in the video and the behind-the-scenes shoots. Joe, esp the past few years, really seems like a third wheel of the band persay. However, he is a Transformers worshipper, you can tell he really wanted his look and his best on this video. In just about all other MTM era videos, you rarely see Joe and if you do, he is just there. This one you see him just about more than anyone besides Chester and he's acutually doing something. Mike sings backup vocals during the verses at least and you can tell this in the video. At least in the 2nd verse you prominitely can. Lack of Phoenix is bad. Looks like the band has changed a bit since we saw them last summer, the upcoming tour should be interesting with a lot of new changes to set (I'm not sure how I gather that from the video, but I do. Vibes!).
  24. While Chester may have said this, Mike's vague comments regarding the producer role in a Billboard interview a few weeks ago has further fueled my year-long thought that he would be the producer and I still believe so. Mike says they are "half-way" through the music, why bring in some one so late in the game. I realize there's still probably 7-8 months (maybe more) of music to be written, but, in my own opinion, I think it's Mike and Chester said just to be more vague. In fact, I actually think that Twitter quote is around the same thing Mike said in the interview. If it's not Mike, I would think Benson would be a top candidate but who would know.... so long as its not Rick Rubin.
  25. I'm going to say its in all likelihood Mike Shinoda with a small, small outside chance it might be Howard Benson who also produced DBS.
