  1. I like Fiore but I don't know why some of you are flipping out on some of the people who think chats should be reserved for band members. I think it should myself but if he gives some information and not something ridiculous, it will be cool. However, LPU chats, in general, the past few years have been nothing but a joke in the first place. That's not negative - that's the truth. As far as the theatre footage, it was definitely neat stuff. I remember it being put together a lot better than what's on the DVD. There was a ton of Phoenix and Joe interviews. Showed a lot of camaraderie in the band, it was just good stuff, I didn't expect it before the showing. It was a little over 30 mins long (I think?).
  2. Damn Chester is getting up there in age. Happy Birthday
  3. Great, great post. A lot of times people think in order for a song to be good it has to be super complex and out of this world. I have come to find out that sometimes a simple bass line and drum beat is the best method for making a great song rock. LP uses this to its full advantage. There's no denying its great to hear some bad ass super hard guitar solo but sometimes simple is better. Who cares if it only took you a day to learn a guitar part or drum part.... if it sounds good and means something to you, that's all that damn matters.
  4. Yeah that's from Nashville 08. In the middle of V-Day, Chester stops singing and says "Let me catch up" and recovers nicely. And yeah Chester definitely messed up the verses to Don't Stay more than a few times and I think early on PR 07 he messed up the verses to Given Up a few times.
  5. Haha nice, doesn't sound like Rob at all but that's cool. Yes, Chazzy definitely messed that one up. Haha.
  6. That BTH video might be the first time Rob B. has smiled on stage in the history of LP.
  7. Are you saying we need to compare Led Zeppelin to Linkin Park? C'mon. Those are totally different. Opinions are opinions. While I don't disagree with your assessment on Numb, I enjoy the song for what it is. Yeah, it brought a lot of teeny bopper emo fools into Linkin Park's fanbase but so what, they would come eventually. I just don't see how Hit the Floor can get so much hate. Sure, if you compare it to freakin' Led Zeppelin it might pale in comparison, but compared to some of the material in LP's catalogue, I can think of many worse.
  8. Yeah I can't believe they opened an encore with that song in one of their setlists from Winter 2008. However, I think In Between may be retired so that is good. If they bring back a song like In Between over Figure, By Myself, or Pushing remix I will assassinate someone.
  9. I think Hit the Floor is one of LP's most underrated and most unique songs to be honest. You can actually hear the bass line, the riff is sweet, and I love the mechanical sound at the end of the first verse (sounds like one of those Jurassic Park generators turning off or something). I love the punk delivery of the chorus and the structure of the song is very different than most of LP's work at the time. The acapella section in the middle is nasty. I think Hit the Floor is bad ass and a solid piece of work. Unfortunately, the band and many of you don't feel the same. If I had time I would compose a list like Astat because I like to do lists, but I don't have the time, so I'm going to say In Between is definitely my least favorite track. I can't even remember the last time I listened to that track. If they wanted Mike to sing those lyrics, I just don't understand why they couldn't find a better instrumental with more "live band" interaction. There's no climax, buildup, its just a monotone and boring song. No Roads Left, by every measure, is far, far superior to this track. Honorable Mentions: Runaway, Leave Out All The Rest, Valentine's Day
  10. Mine was definitely Mike until my first LP concert - Atlanta 07 - then it switched to Chester. The way Chester dominated the stage with his presence blew every other member of LP and every other band I saw away that night. Mike is a close second and obviously "The Glue" for LP but I can't deny Chester's dedicated and highly entertaining presence in the band. On the flipside of this, Rob B. has to be my least favorite member. He is as mechanical of a drummer as you will find and while he might be the nicest person in LP, he's also probably the most boring, at least on stage and in interviews. He never appears to be having a good time....
  11. Just Mike playing the chorus over a piano piece a few times instead of that The Cure piece he was doing (which was beyond horrible).
  12. Points of Authority, good god, easily one of the band's all time favorites live.
  13. Chester has changed the lyrics (slightly) to Points of Authority and From the Inside... outside of the parts he does not sing anymore. Mike also started to say "who" instead of "what" on the LFY bridge sometime in mid 2007.
  14. The only thing I got out of this is Chester has some serious jet-lag and realizes DBS is a joke.
  15. In the most recent email from Machine Shop, it has huge promotions for the "Not Alone" video and says it is "the D2D single." Perhaps we will be hearing this on radio soon?
  16. Oh Lord dude, I'm not attacking you. However, I have been reading your posts from here and elsewhere for a few years and I also remember you praising the shows you attend like they were the best shows in the universe; however, if anyone else did (i.e Mark/Me in Atlanta) you posted nonsense like it was ridiculous LP could play a good show outside of a show you go to. Chill out, if you think Mansfield has the best ITE, good for you bud, you have every right.
  17. You're the man for the job. There should definitely be a section for this.
  18. Yes. Right on the money, first thing I thought about when I saw him in the shades. Which people, really is it that big of a deal? If this was indeed U2 (I'm surprised there not all over this situation), no one would be saying anything because Bono always wears shades. There's no problem with it. I understand a bit though, I kinda was taken back by it for a minute considering the first part of the video only has Chaz singing in the booth but the shots are A+ and I don't think the shades are meant to be disrespectful in any way. Chester is known for wearing shades, especially in some music videos, and while this is still definitely a non-profit thing for a great cause, it's still a band showing an image of a song that is an official release. And I have definitely seen sunglasses at a funeral - that's not disrespectful, some people aren't very comfortable showing their emotions at a time. The video is A+ material and while I thought it was a solid song when I first heard it, this video certainly opened my eyes on it more. I don't think I want to see it in a live set (unless for MFR related event obviously) but it's one of there better slower songs they have released.
  19. If it were up to you, every damn Linkin Park performance in Masschusetts would be a live DVD release and hailed as the best performance the world has ever seen from LP.
  20. Damn, hit the nail on the coffin. Chester needs to get over it and focus on LP. This thing was horribly promoted, no website, no real tour configuration (especially in US), etc. It was a big fuck up and he needs to be focused on LP.
  21. I hate this term "LP camp" that Shinoda uses. I am a fan of Linkin Park - not Dead By Sunrise, Styles of Beyond, Lupe Fiasco and such. I know a lot of you are but the point is... Mike uses crappy excuses that there camp has released so much material. PRETTY MUCH, outside of New Divide and LPU 9, which is an annual thing, I don't consider anything new from LP. Yeah, he might have remixed a few LP tracks (including Lockjaw), but those weren't released during the time LP has spent in the studio the past year or so. Even "Not Alone" which was recreated in a matter of days AND only released due to this earthquake. Mike can use his remixes and DBS material as excuses for material coming from "LP Camp" but I don't consider that valid LP material. Mike definitely said they wanted to release more music in different means and more quickly, not necessarily albums, but he certainly has made it clear they want to get out of the "4-5 years" between releasing albums. With the way it's looking, that won't be happening. It's already been almost 3 years since MTM was released. Either way, its a shame this album couldn't be coming out within the next few months.
  22. You have got to be the most incompetent fool on this board.
  23. Damn, right on man. You know what you are talking about.
