The Requiem- Awesome intro. Got me revved to hear the rest of the album. 9/10

The Radiance- It’s kind of interesting. Not sure I’d want to play it too many times. 6/10

Burning in the Skies- Good vibe/intro. Very catchy; I’m digging the chorus. Muse like breakdown. Reminds me kind of Breaking the Habit in a way. 9/10

Empty Spaces- Filler track. No rating.

When they come for me- Good beat, cool sound; Mike’s back. His best rapping since FM. A carousel like indie background is definitely cool. 8.5/10

Robot Boy- WTF? It’s too strange for my liking. Way too layered. 1/10

Jornada Del Muerto- I like the sound, many layers to the track. 8/10

Waiting for the End- Cool beginning; I don’t dig Mike’s Jamaican rapping but I suppose it’s not terrible as I previously thought. Catchy chorus; obvious single. 7/10

Blackout- I love the beginning sound and Chester’s aggressiveness over a pop beat sounds cool. Reanimation-esque. Perhaps a bit overproduced? Unique ending. 9/10

Wretches and Kings- Solid beat but subpar rapping/lyrics and chorus ruin its potential. 6/10

Wisdom Justice and Love- Gives me an eerie feeling, the ending is a bit annoying but I don’t know, it’s an interlude. 6/10

Iridescent- I think this is my favorite song on the album. I just love the beat and the lyrics are simple yet powerful. 9.5/10

Fallout- Not liking the robot voice here. 4/10

The Catalyst- Yuck. I’ll never like this song. Too dancy/ poppy for me. Hate the vocal effect Mike used and the electro drums.

The Messenger- Never heard Chester sing quite like this. Kind of a shocking track to hear from LP, but I do like it. 8/10

Overall, I like the album. I can’t believe I do after hearing The Catalyst but I think I like it more than even possibly MTM. I wish it had a bit more energy that the old LP displayed, but I do like most of the tracks this cd has to offer. Maybe their next cd can be even better now that LP really doesn’t play one type of music anymore. We’ll see. I can see many fans being pissed over this cd and I also think some will love it. I’m somewhere in between although I’m leaning more towards the love portion.

Funny story. The 1st track I listened to was Iridescent and I thought it was a different band at the beginning of the song.

I will be leaving my review shortly.

Kinda sucks. The chorus and beat is okay but Mike's rapping is the worst he's ever done IMO.

Even though he didn't like it, he sounded like he wasn't open to the idea of LP making a good album before he reviewed ATS.

maybe lp can save the world in 2012 by releasing a better cd than this..............

Only 2 years? They take at least 3 and a half now. Next LP cd will be in 2014.

problem being, a lot of people who claim to hate the direction they're going in are going to purchase the album anyway. A band is going to make the music they want to make; if you personally don't like it, DON'T SUPPORT THEM.

 

And please don't give me "but Lp's My FAV band i'mma support dem durr." That's hypocritical; people don't tend to hate or dislike their favorite anything.

 

I'm not advocating illegal downloading in any sense either; if you "hate"/"dislike" the music, why would you go out of your way to (illegally) obtain it?

 

If you want to send a message to the band, quit bitching and don't buy the album. Or just buy the tracks you LIKE individually from amazon or itunes.

 

All that being said, i've already pre-ordered. I've liked what i've heard, and i don't regret my decision.

It's still Linkin Park, but its not the same Linkin Park many of us grew to love. Judging from the clips, I was more optimistic about MTM.

Does not sound too impressive. Maybe if this cd flops they can get back to making better music.

OK, for me i'm not sure how i feel. I LOVE Mike's part, but Chesters part I'm not so sure about. I will have to wait until the full track to see if I like Chester's part in full. BTW, i usually like Chester more than Mike so this is odd. lol

No, I've been discussing this the past 3 years. Just like you MTM fans, I get tired of people bashing Meteora especially since back in 03, very few people in the lpu objected to it.

MTM didn't have better lyrics or tracks than Meteora. You all are delusional. If they included NRL, ATL and PTB instead of a few tracks then maybe you could talk about it being up there with Meteora.

Dont worrt, I just left a little rant on Linkin Park Australia's Facebook page. I know the regularly check t seeing they have answered a few of my questions on there before.

I cannot believe people are putting Meteora Over MTM. Thats down right stupid. Meteora is a shocking album. It riding in the shadows of HT unlike MTM and ATS that are making names for themselves.
