martinez Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 So 2012 version of WFTE has: - different effects on vocals and guitar loop at the beginning 2012 Iridescent: - a bit different effects on Mike's vocals at the beginning (2012 version vs 2010 version) Quote
martinez Posted June 11 Posted June 11 June 2025 update. Stuff that still needs a fix: Waiting For The End: Quote The song contains different effects used on vocals. A different delay effect can be heard when you compare below two fragments: 2010-album version 2012 album version Another example with even more noticeable difference is at the end when Chester sings the last word "got!": 2010-album version 2012 album version Also, there might be something else which I'm not sure about it. I extracted the acapella from both versions and I want you to compare and let know what you think about it. Here are two fragments of the acapella: WFTE (acapella)-2010 album version WFTE (acapella)-2012 album version When Chester sings "Flying at the speed of light" - it's about the last word "light" it sounds a bit different. The guitar loop at the beginning also has different effects: 2010-album version 2012-album version Shadow Of The Day: On 11/12/2021 at 9:34 AM, Astat said: Shadow of the Day: Guitar that enters in the first chorus (absent from the previous "wrong" mix) is a different take, the tone is completely different and there are no sliding noises between the notes like there are on the original CD version. I'm not totally convinced it isn't a VST guitar sim replacing the original track. Other differences seem to be fixed. *Edit* Haha, wow, this is 100% a re-recorded guitar part, it even plays a wrong note. On the "and the shadow of the day" lines in the choruses, it's supposed to follow the bass and go down to a G instead of going up to a D like it does on every other time through the progression, but it goes up to a D in that spot on this recording. I bet Mike re-recorded this recently because they couldn't find the original guitar track for whatever reason. Quote
LPLStaff Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I shared this with them before the LP comeback, @martinez - have you sent this to Adam? Happy to nudge it if you need me to. Quote

Will be sending both and some others later today or tomorrow. I'm finishing writing it, it's gonna be pretty much detailed, I'm even suggesting where they can look for the masters to some of those, which they can use and fix it. But I have to admit that from the list that was sent 3 weeks ago and from other stuff that was sent earlier, nothing was fixed. Even the little things, like for example - Meteora20 on iTunes/Apple Music it has a title "Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition)" while on all other platforms is listed as "Meteora 20th Anniversary Edition" without the "()". Comparing of how fast they fixed the title for CC with less than week, some of those supposed to be already fixed. Quote
LPLStaff Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Think it just has to do with how busy their team and label are right now - the UEFA game into the Europe tour time period has been insanely busy for them. They'll definitely get to it. Thanks for compiling all of that and sending it. Quote
martinez Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I took the liberty of updating the main post in this thread. I hope that RogueSoul or anyone else has no problem with that. Well, I can agree that updating the thread which is 12 years old might be a bit odd but over the years, some stuff was updated, some other things were discovered in the very later time, plus I thought it would be easier for everyone to have everything mentioned in one post. The main post has now the info about the different version of Waiting For The End, Across The Line and the info about the update that happened in 2021. The info about the differences of Across The Line was also enhanced over the new difference that was discovered this week, which is: no synth during the second chorus. Below I'm including the preview of that difference. The preview I mounted consists of two exact same fragments of the song. I use the source of the song from two different MTM deluxe editions released in 2013 and 2022. The version released in the deluxe edition in 2022 is the same as the LPU9 version and contains synth during the second chorus. Also, by checking No Roads Left, I have noticed that the 2021 updated version of the song is not exactly 1 to 1 the 2007 OG version, because it was remastered, which easily can be heard when you compare those versions and, it can also be easily seen e.g. in audacity: Quote

It would be a remastered version of the 2007 one. I personally don't consider remastered songs a different version of the original, but that's just me Quote
