ChuckCheese Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) From Mike's blog... Our single, THE CATALYST, arrives August 2nd. I thought I’d show you the art for the single before anyone else gets to see it. Edited July 18, 2010 by SpikeMinoda Quote
Dark_Adolescent Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Beat me to it. If that's the single art, it looks very...strange. Quote
ChuckCheese Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010 Definitely not what I was expecting. I am loving what they are doing for this album. So damn mysterious. Quote
Dark_Adolescent Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Same here. Not what I was expecting, but that's a good thing. The distorted pictures are definitely growing on me. Quote
DeepestBlue Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 So I guess this is continuing the mysterious, astronomical, nuclear feel of what's been released. Quote
LPjahova808 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 This is reminding me so much of Year Zero, and this is a good thing Quote
hawk Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) It's good - but I do like it. I can sort of see a distorted sun look with solar flares.... WELL HELLO! Edited July 18, 2010 by Joseph Quote
Jack Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) Lesssss Goooooo Aug. 2nd. Damn That looks really cool with mike in the pic. Edited July 18, 2010 by Jack Quote
RiderSSPU Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Not what I was expecting, but It's kind of cool Quote
hawk Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Jesus, Joseph. Resize that shit It must be seen. Working on it. Quote
maik_gianino Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 No logo, name, nothing ? just that ? is really strange... Quote
hawk Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Over at the LPA they are thinking that maybe the person isn't actually mean't to be there. They're saying that to get the effect of the image Mike or someone took a photo of glass and that guy has ended up being behind the image. Then again, how come he fits perfectly in the circle? Quote

He does fit perfectly in the circle. I think He is meant to be there. Quote
Xero21 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Then again, how come he fits perfectly in the circle? That's what I'm thinking. Maybe Mike was being funny? He got so into the whole water-marking thing that he kept going when he got bored. Quote
gorast Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 BECAUSE IT'S A CONSPIRACY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA this is some sick cover art. Quote
maik_gianino Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 but, who is that person or something in the picture ? maybe is another puzzle o message... Quote
hawk Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Yes. Maybe this album cover it a message itself? Quote
Xero21 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I don't think it's a message. What would a person holding a camera mean? "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? So intense!" /doublerainbow Quote
Jack Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) The best I could do. Edited July 18, 2010 by Jack Quote
ChuckCheese Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010 That doesn't look like the person is holding a camera to me....what's going with his left hand? Quote
Dark_Adolescent Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 It's not that he fits in the circle at all. If someone was taking a picture of the single art through glass or something, then the dark part of the circle of course is going to reflect the person. He wouldn't show up in the white area because it's too light to be reflected in. Does anyone get what I'm trying to say? We're probably just looking too hard into everything...Mike made us super-paranoid. Quote

But if someone did take a pic and it happened to stick in the image, what are the odds that the person's head/shoulders/hand/camera all fit so well into the circle? It seems very lucky. But again I don't think this is a "message." Quote
