Cyro
Oh Jeez... LP has used so many different intro's and outro's for a bunch of their songs over the last nine years... It's be a headache (A very fun headache) to get a comprehensive list together. Your list is pretty good, but you are missing a lot. I should make an interactive list of everything they've used with downloads as examples. Astat
This list does not include concert intros that then went into the first song normally (i.e. any of the random instrumentals that went into With You, Don't Stay, etc. when they opened shows), show openers are only included if something was changed in the structure of the song itself. It also only includes intros and outros, not things that were done in the middle of songs. If I'm missing any (good luck thinking of any more, because I sure can't!), let me know. Astat
Wake 2.0 is a song not intro/outro. Uhh, it's still Wake...with a new intro. Setlist designations don't have any bearing on what constitutes a seperate song. Is "Bleed it Out (Party Mix)" a seperate song from Bleed it Out? No. Wake 2.0 was played at Milton Keynes, and it's still listed as "Wake" on Road to Revolution. It was also still called "Wake" on all the DSPs. If it was a "different song," they would've titled it as such on an official release. zuben7o7
The One Step Closer intro used in 2007 didn't stop in November 2007. They used that same intro until March 2008. Cyro
I know of one you have forgotten. Forgotten is fitting, because the only time LP played FRGT/10, Mike played a short piano outro that sort of transitioned into Breaking The Habit. You are also forgetting the intro used on Don't Stay from November of '03 to March of '04. I don't really consider FRGT/10 different because Mike was essentially just playing one of the sampled parts from the studio version on piano. That song also fades out at the end on the studio version, so the ending is going to be different live by default (same goes for My December). hahninator
What I've Done: January 2008-March 2008, July 2008-Present (most shows): Extended "AMBO" intro Why not just say January 2008-Present (most shows)? That's what you did for With You, etc. The Little Things Give You Away: May 2007-August 2008: Extended keyboard intro (either piano or organ), sometimes w/added Chester vocals The extended keyboard intro started in May? Thought it was July @ Auburn. None of the European shows I checked had an extended intro for it. At Novarock Chester came out and started talking like he did before P5hng from LIT...Mike strummed the acoustic a bit but there wasn't a key intro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFrQxgG8WIU A Place for My Head: January 2008-June 2008: Extended guitar solo intro Couldn't you expand on that? Lisbon 2003 Mike did the bridge before the song, and some 04 shows the Rob/Phoenix intro dragged on quite a bit before the song. Good example of that is Cleveland 04 where it dragged on a bit longer, but I think you should mention that intro anyway even though it's kinda short. Crawling June 2004-August 2006, January 2008-Present: Full-length KRWLNG intro (w/Hands Held High verse starting in July 2008) Should add that sometimes Chester had Crawling vocal parts over it in August 2006, and then partially in January 2008. HHH verse should be changed to "verseS" as in multiple. That's all I can think of right now to help you out. I can take a shot at the BIO stuff at some point. WID: They stopped using the AMBO intro completely for the summer '08 European tour. If they stopped doing an intro/outro for an extended period like that but continued playing the song, I broke up the dates. TLTGYA, you're right about that. Fixed. The vocal parts on KRWLNG are part of the album version anyway, so whether they're present or not doesn't really change the intro. There's also only one HHH verse over the KRWLNG portion at any given time, even though they've done both of them. I also added the album version SOTD>WID transition intro as a live intro to WID, I forgot about that one. I would say "One of the Hands Held High verses" then so you can indicate it's possible he did one or the other. Maybe HHH 1 from June 2008-July 2009, HHH 2 July 2009-Present. What about APFMH? JanekZech
Amazing list, Astat! -And One had the Be Yourself intro and some kind of wind sound in 2001 -Crawling had a new intro @RAR 01 -maybe you could add that the By Myself intro had Mike rapping part of his vocals from the bridge over it? -CFTI had kind of a new intro when it was performed in 07, didn't it? -My December had extended Mr. Hahn outros at several shows I think -Session was shortened when it was played in 03 and 09 and the scratching started earlier -I think Numb had two different intros in 2004: the one from RAR 04 and a transition from Breaking The Habit -I think HHH's last chorus was extended at some shows in 2008 Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/2535-introsoutros/#findComment-40350 Share on other sites
Astat
Haven't they used a sample of the Nine Inch Nails song "Something I Can Never Have" as a intro to some shows/songs before? It was just the pre-show music played over the PA at a bunch of shows in 2004, not an "intro" at all, just a reoccuring thing. Quite a few bands have specific songs that are played over the PA prior to them taking the stage. -And One had the Be Yourself intro and some kind of wind sound in 2001 Didn't connect to the song itself in any way, so it doesn't count, it's just an interlude. Also, the "wind sound" is actually there on the studio version in several spots, it's just more obvious on the live version. -Crawling had a new intro @RAR 01 Same situation as Be Yourself/And One. -maybe you could add that the By Myself intro had Mike rapping part of his vocals from the bridge over it? Added. -CFTI had kind of a new intro when it was performed in 07, didn't it? CFTI was remixed entirely when it was performed in '07, I don't think it really fits in this topic. It's not like Wake 2.0, where it was just a new intro part followed by the rest of the song being the same. -My December had extended Mr. Hahn outros at several shows I think Joe's scratch solo spot was after My December in 2002, but the ending of the song itself wasn't different other than it not fading out like the studio version does, obviously. -Session was shortened when it was played in 03 and 09 and the scratching started earlier Not really a different intro/outro though. I'm not counting changes in the middle of songs, i.e. I didn't include the Reanimation bridge to One Step Closer. -I think Numb had two different intros in 2004: the one from RAR 04 and a transition from Breaking The Habit I listed both of those. The BTH/Numb transition is listed under BTH. -I think HHH's last chorus was extended at some shows in 2008 Nope.
