Personally I still think ATL is not bad. This song uses a similar format to The Catalyst, except for the sudden transition to hard rock at the bridge part. Personal tastes.

Linkin Park HAS something up their sleeves, apparently. It's amusing, really, that some noobies think this album is crap. It's just their first single and it doesnt represent the entire album sound.
