Hybrider Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Finally we can hear this masterpiece. Every song with Chester's voice is amazing. I love it. Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Really digging the DBS/STP vibe of the track, Chester feels in his element here 100%. Like, it’s a very simple song but super effective Quote

Chester really shines and sounds so natural playing straight up rock n roll. what a legend Edited November 16, 2023 by Hybrid1988 Quote
NJPLP Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) Did anyone notice that the word "Go!" that Chester screams in the bridge sounds almost exactly the same as one he screamed in "Blackout", specifically when he screamed it in that one LPTV episode when they are recording the song? Edited November 16, 2023 by NJPLP Quote
leftshoe18 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Yay! I've been hoping to hear the full thing for a while. Chester always nails this type of music. Quote
NJPLP Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 I still don’t understand why Talinda didn’t want this out. The song is absolutely amazing. Quote

Chester's singing style was typical for this era. Quote

Same person singing the same word in the same period of time (2010), kinda normal it sounds the same 😀 Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Virgin Radio Italy says that the reason why the song didn’t end up on Slash’s album was that Warner didn’t want such a huge collaboration to “shift” the attention from A thousand suns coming out within few months … it feels kinda weird because fans don’t act like “who cares about new LP, we have Slash and Chester” lol… Quote

Then they allowed Chester to appear on the Santana album that came out the same month as A Thousand Suns. lol Quote

Different genre so not a threat? I doubt even WB could explain their decision process. Maybe the day the Slash question arrived the decision maker's gf cheated on him so he said no to everything, took the day off and got drunk. Quote

YRQRM0 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 I love hearing his more classic rock side, it's a shame this isn't out on streaming, and also that we never got more pro-recordings of him doing stuff like Highway to Hell and Paradise City Quote
linkindan Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Quote An official release is being planned to benefit 320 Changes Direction, the mental health nonprofit founded by Bennington's widow Talinda. Source: https://98rock.iheart.com/featured/big-rig/content/2023-11-18-new-never-before-released-slash-with-chester-bennington-from-2010/ (I didn’t listen to the whole podcast, so if they mentioned it there I missed it aha) Quote
deanowardust Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I thought 320 changes direction had merged with give an hour foundation. That seems to be what all the sites re direct to, i'm not sure how involved Talinda still is as not seeing much activity anymore. Quote

LMAO yes, way, way too close to it. Even if he recorded both songs during that era it's kinda suspicious. Not crazy over this dad Gen X Rock sound but each to his own.
