  1. As much as i prefer the band to surprise me, Easier to Run and and Part of Me(the non Chester screaming the pre-chorus version) are the only two songs the band could add to the set that would make me go completely insane. I would even contemplate building a shrine to them in my backyard for like 5 seconds. That show would be epic. I would even settle for Mike rapping only the second verse of Part of Me over BIO. One of his best performance on a song ever.

  2. I don't care what LP does with the set list as long as they don't rotate out a new song for an older song. And older songs = everything before ATS. Although, it would be nice if the only Meteora songs they played were Breaking the Habit, Faint, and bring in Easier to Run(fantasy i know) because that album lacks any sort of variation and is their worst album imo. Anything mostly from HT, MTM and ATS is fine with me.

And ATS songs should be the core of the set list.

  3. FACT: You guys bitch a lot. Secondly, If you don't like what they're selling, then don't buy it. Ever heard of free will? And i doubt the LPU and the band want people who are going to bitch and complain anyways to go.

  4. LP once decided to have multiple rotating setlists on tour and then a whole bunch of people just HAVE to have it every time and whine when it doesn't happen.

and then they cave into such demands.

Makes me wonder if LP will become hesitant to try new things in the future, because as soon as they do something special a bunch of people will whine and yell at them if they can't do it anymore, and since LP doesn't wanna look like a bunch of uncaring meanies, they feel obligated to comply.

It's nice that LP is so nice. But you have to realize that nice people have a tendency to get walked all over. LP should only be nice on the basis that fans don't cry over dumb shit like this.

This! I never understood how LP switching out LFY and LOATR is special. Those are things they've done before. It's the same thing with the Reanimation CD, Collision Course, Hybrid Theory, rotating set list and other things. LP did those things in that moment of time. But yet people want them to keep doing it every time. Repeating the same thing over and over again isn't special in my opinion. I liked Reanimation, Collision Course, Hybrid Theory but i wouldn't want it repeated again. But wanting them to keep doing the same thing over and over again means they won't have the room to actually come up with new ideas or do new things just like they did in those moments to surprise us. For this tour, i want LP to come up with something new that they haven't done before that would make this tour special and not a repeat of anything else. And frankly, i hate that they switched out a new song in place of an old one. Only old songs should be switched out for old songs.

  5. I'm shocked the band actually heard all the bitching people have been doing and did something about it.

In that case, here is my request: For the U.S shows, please play all of a ATS live and if an old song will be brought back into the set, i vote for Easier to Run. Best song on Meteora period.

  6. someone tell me why during the catalyst chester has this big flashlight thing for?

Well, the only thing i can think off is that he was using it for effects sake coupled with the sound effects that is playing. Personally, i think its pretty funny. For once, the audience are the ones blinded by the light instead of them.

  7. Im just back....im pretty upset :(

The show was just about 90 mins (but it felt like 60 or less for me) New songs were okay live...but nutin special, the crowd also seemd to not like them ALOT, on the older songs they get nuts.

Too bad they didnt played APFMH again, they just played the first verse of it during BIO....Damm and i was so hoping for the full song like the paris people got :(

I will upload my videos right now, should be up in few hours

I chuck the crowd not liking and going nuts over the new songs to them being complete fools. I'm standing by that irrational logic. <_< A show is only as fun as the audience chooses to make it. The band feed off them and vice versa. It seems like the German crowds so far have been uninspiring. LP needs to play less shows for them and instead use that extra time to play more South American shows where they will be better appreciated.(i feel sorry for the fans there who have to wait 4+ years) The French, the Austrians and South Americans have been my favourites.

  8. show is over since 1 hour.

Mike pointed at me and Overkill during Papercut, The Ctalyst, In The End and some other songs cause of our LPL shirts.

Mike rapped 'APFMH' during BIO bridge and pointed at us again and told: this is only for you guys.

Mark Fiore took a picture of the LPL with me and Overkill.

LPL was a lot of fun and many guys were there, picture will be up soon :)

Good for you guys. Sounds like a blast. I can't wait to see the pictures. :)

    Let the magic commence!!!

That's a pretty great quality for what it is. LP has never failed in performing this song and doing it justice. It would be awesome to see it live in its entirety once. I love the chorus of this song so much and Chester always gives me chills at the bridge. I don't know why. And its nice to see Mike energetic. Great find. :)

  10. No, that is incorrect. By interaction, he means talking to the crowd. And LP rarely did that at all between NYC and Linz. Paris, they talked. That's what he means, not interaction as in hands up, clapping, etc. APFMH was very likely not caused by the complaining here, it was rather caused likely by the HT 10 year.

Complaining about APFMH in the past has worked with the constant nagging about it at M&Gs during 2007 and the huge petition in Perth they had for it that they gave to the band...you could argue that that made them add it in 2008 but who REALLY knows other than the band. I am excited, however, for the setlist poll Mike was talking about.

No. You're the one who is incorrect. Chester talked to the crowd and even introduced a song of the new album to the audience and it wasn't at Paris. He even thanked the crowd for getting the album gold in their country. I don't remember which. Once i find the link, i will post. You guys are exaggerating to the max or choose to ignore the obvious. The only thing remotely new from this show is APFMH.

  11. That...was...fucking...awesome!!!!

Chester tore that shit up big time!

With a little bit of luck the crowds reaction to APFMH may force it to be played again...maybe!

Do you guys think that band has been reading this forums with regards to the little interaction they've been doing with the fans at the recent shows and the resulting complaints?

This might explain the turnaround in crowd interaction at the France show or it could just be coincidence!

All the audience recordings on youtube from the other shows begs to differ. They HAVE been interacting with their fans. And it was no different from this show. People sure like to exaggerate. And i honestly doubt that LP's decision to play APFMH or any other was spurred by the bitching here.

  12. yeah its not like they added new divide and the other ATS songs...

Hence the "in relation to Hybrid Theory" specification in my post genius. And we all know all the bitching and today's hurray is over HT songs and not really about how much new songs were new and added. People don't seem to really care that the set list is new and a heck of a lot more different than previous set list. All they seem to care about is "is Lp going to play more HT?"

  13. They did. Back in 08. Dont recall anyone saying to replace it.

I Got it. In reality, the only difference between this current set list to the one in 2008 is the addition of A Place For My Head and the absence of Point of Authority in relation to Hybrid Theory and possible the piano version of PMA(which most people were bitching against anyways so it doesn't count.) So when you think about it, nothing much really has changed, yet people are orgasming over the addition even though POA is absent.

Going by people's reaction on here, all LP really has to do is stop playing a particular song or songs from HT for say a whole year, and then bring it back and people will be shitting their pants and screaming "best set list ever!" even if the song that was removed and returned was a single. Genius LP! Genius!. I bet they had that idea up their sleeves the whole time.

  14. I couldn't have said it any better myself. Woohoo, they brought back A Place for My Head...again...and people do a total 180 on their opinion of the setlist. A Place for My Head is not the end-all, be-all of Linkin Park's live repertoire (it's one of their better live songs, but you'd think it puts the entire rest of their catalog to shame by the way some people worship it), and the perceived quality of their performance should not revolve solely around whether or not one measly song gets played.

    THIS! Seriously, people. <_<

Just wait and see. The moment LP adds it permanently to the setlist, people will start bitching about replacing it with With You or some other mediocre Metoera song.

  15. My favourite song of this album is Papercut. It is an LP classic to me. It has all the elements of LP that attracted me to them. It is also the perfect marriage of rock/rap song LP has ever made. The flow is awesome. Of course My December even if it was a b-side, and Pushing me Away, Point of Authority with Crawling also being one of the best songs from the album.

It would have been my favourite album if the band hadn't made A Thousand Suns.

  16. The argument that because a lot of fans who are attending more than one LP show on this particular European tour warrants a rotating set list doesn't hold much weight like i said before because those group of fans are such a small percentage in comparison to the group of fans who are attending only one show. Each show on this particular European tour has a larger group of different fans for each show which makes the current set list okay because there is always going to be the larger group who don't belong on any fansite perusing LP's set list for which the show will be a surprise to them. All the people complaining are called the vocal minority. They are not the majority but because they scream the loudest, it seems like they are much greater than they actually are.

Another thing that grates on my nerves is the whole "do something for the hardcore fans and play more Hybrid Theory" or the typical whine "play some more old stuff" speil. WTF? Besides the fact that this is all just the whole wanting-what-you-don't-have syndrome at play, since when did Crawling, Papercut, One Step Closer & In the End become new stuff? And since when did hardcore fans become the term to describe the fans who only want LP to play non-single stuff from Hybrid Theory & Meteora which is what the bitching is really about.

And at the end of the day, every fans ideal set list is so diverse due to everyone's personal taste and preference, it is pointless to even debate what sort of set list would be an improvement because they are biased. For example, my ideal set list involves the band playing all of A Thousand Suns with nothing from Meteora except Breaking the Habit & Easier to Run, and everything from MTM with the exception of In Between, Given Up, Shadow of the Day, & Leave Out All The Rest and from HT, Only Crawling, Papercut, Pushing me Away and A Place For My Head. My set list is biased because i prefer Chester's singing voice over his screaming voice so the songs i want reflects that. And i consider Meteora to be their worst album so it reflects on my setlist. I also think ATS is their best so my set list reflects that too. And so on and so on so ideal set list? Nonexistent.

Once the band returns to the states, i plan to attend more than one show simply because ATS has got me pumped to see it performed live. Do i expect the band to cater to me? Not really. It would be nice if they did something that i wanted.

And if people feel so passionate about the set list, how about posing your suggestions to the band at M&Gs and see what happens. They've played songs requested by fans before at a M&G so you never know.

If LP decided to play another European tour next year, then i say the need for a rotating set -list with an altered set list is warranted to some degree. But, people will still bitch about it anyways which is all cool and predictable at this point.

  17. We all know there is no such thing as a perfect setlist. But they played 3 shows EXACTLY the same. Even 2009 had more small changes (without DBS) like the PoA intros/outros and HHH/Crawling.

I don't expect them to be like Green Day either because they are LP and not Green Day, but they started with the rotating sets in 07 which was kinda late but why stop now when they are playing even more shows in one country and even more people go so see several shows. This just makes no sense.

You guys talk like it's the exact same group of fans attending all five shows in the same country which is not even close to the case so the same list would only bother those small percentage that decided to attend more than one show in a row. Not to say a rotating set list wouldn't be a good idea, but it is not that dramatic if they don't in terms of the bigger picture.

  18. Jeez what a great argument.

I'm not one to argue on peoples opinions but the fact that they have set the bar for tons of bands and have had a huge influence on many bands throughout the years. Have managed to stay relevant for 30 Years... im just gonna stop.

Trust me, if i wanted to argue, i would. That was just an opinion in case it flew over your head.

As for Metallica, i don't like their music. It means absolutely nothing to me if they have influenced a group of people or whatnot. As for relevance, that all depends on where you go and who you ask. Maybe in the corner you pay attention to, but they are not relevant to me. I' sure they are talented if they have lasted this long. I like Linkin Park's style of doing things. I like the fact that i get different experiences from artist to artist.

As for the setlist thing, i call it the wanting-what-we-don't-have syndrome. The moment LP starts playing all the songs people want and take out all the singles, the cry will start for all the singles to return and round and round we go.
