You don't get what I mean. You have to admit that they changed the setlist more in 2008, they changed it almost every night. Now, they think they can make the fans happy by changing two songs. This is stupid. Why not creating a setlist like London Night 2? It would be even better if they would have used this one for the Brisbane show.

I'll change my opinion if they go one with a completely new setlist later on, but this is my opinion for now.

Seriously dude, you sound like a whining bitch. You may be giving your opinion, but its invalid and irrational no matter which way you look at it. You might as well be stating that you think human beings are immortal and have eternal youth. It won't sound any less ridiculous. I urge you to take a day off and come back and examine the nonsense you wrote. You are not the only one who is disappointed that they didn't play a different setlist just because that would be awesome for those of us following their shows. But you're the only one who doesn't consider the contextual factors that for the people of Australia(who are in a whole different continent than Europe), the setlist is actually pretty solid and quite refreshing considering the additions. Like I've said to you once, your expectations are quite bizarre and for the most part, make no sense.

I read that article. I actually loved it as i felt the same way(not the OK Computer comparison.) And the part where it talks about the way ATS incorporated hip-hop being very different than their past albums was on spot. It felt more organic and it flowed better and more musical if possible to imagine to me than their past work and that is saying a lot as i still think their older work was awesome too.

I got reserved seating too. I would have loved to know which section i was going to be seating in. I was torn between getting GA because i wanted to be at the rails but with reserved, i wouldn't be worried about getting there early and can watch the show without people slamming into me. I caved in and got reserved. But i wish we could pick the section we want.

I don't like the new stage only because it divides the venue into two sections where if you're on one end, you can't see the other side of the stage.

My December live from SoHo in 2008. Search for it yourself or buy it from itunes. That was the most epic performance although some of you people may not like it because it is the piano version.

They are probably getting pressure from the label. ATS was a flop (sales-wise).

I'm sure the band made ATS with all those little details that they can't control in mind. So i doubt they still care about stuff like that especially pressure from a label that has made huge money of them. If they did, they wouldn't have made ATS. They put their money where their mouth is and that is telling of itself. This album may not have sold as well as the others, but i doubt it all of a sudden is a cause for the label to start biting their nails. They've ripped a ton of profit from the band that out-weighs a CD not selling the amount they want it to. If they bitch, it would because of greed and not from any dying needs for profit.

Sounds like a classic case of the interviewer mixing up his quotes and twisting them a little.(e.g: Mike's words about playing something they've never done before at LPU Summit and the fans quoted at as Mike saying they would play a new song or a really old song and the whole thing grew a head of its own) If it's not a video feed with those words coming out of Chester's own mouth, it's not even worth noting. And at best, he probably means something different than what everyone is inferring.

My favourite part of this album are the stories each song have to tell. My favourite track of the album is hands down Red to Black. I love all the guest vocals on this one so much plus the story it tells was just awesome. A close second on that vein is Right Now. I love the music and the lyrics.

The Rising Tied is one of my favourite hip-hop albums and that was way before i knew it was even Mike Shinoda.(yes i was an LP fan before, just not in the fandom back then to know stuff like that) I think what Mike lacked in other places, he made up for it big time in the things he was great at. Even after five years, those particular songs still resonate with me. There won't come a time when the message from Where'd You Go would ever stop being relevant.

At this rate of complaining, i wouldn't be surprised if the band just said, "screw it" and went back to releasing live tracks and bubbles because the 'fans' will still complain anyways. At least with live tracks and bubbles, the complaint will actually be relevant.

Eh...Can we say over-rated too. Any setlist that includes more than half of Meteora(as i consider that their worst album to date) is a fail for me.

If you think about it, Australia is almost as big as the the United States. So of course it would have more shows. It is a record. The only problem i see is how close to the show they're announcing it. I usually need two months in advance to plan for a concert. A good thing i'm not in Australia.

I'm sorry, but you guys act like pit tickets at LP are dangerous. Come on now, it's an LP concert, not a Slayer show.

And thank god for the little blessings that its not a Slayer show. Regardless, your point is moot. For girls with my height of 5"2 and weight of 107, the pit is still quite dangerous even at an LP concert. I'm not a guy with muscles and 150 weight on my side. I almost got strangled and suffocated the last time i was in the pit at a concert and it was LP. I actually had to surrender being that close to the stage and get pulled out(which was quite the difficult job for the security dude) because it was either watch them from a distant, or pass out and miss half the performance. So yeah, i wish that an LP concert at the pit would be as mild and pleasant as you insinuate it to be so that i can gladly be there and not worry about being used as a squeeze ball and getting knocked out. The times i was at the pit were my least favourite because i never got to enjoy the performance because i spent most of the time trying to hold on to the rail and keep my head especially when Mike or Chester come any where close.

I love LPUX. It delivered on what it aimed to do. It gave us demos on the bands history. With the exception of WID remix, the rest of the tracks were great. Listening to the demos, i was able to get a glimpse into the bands writing process. Why the demos were discarded could easily be gleamed from some tracks but more difficult from other tracks. Some i thought were great ideas that the band could have pursued further. And its obvious the ones with vocals were the ones that made it really far along the writing process but due to some reason, got discarded anyways. I like that most of the demos were from songs that never made it to the final writing process or any official songs. I think that is one of the reasons some people may not like it. Unlike LPU9 that consisted mostly of demos of songs that were completed, LPUX was the complete opposite. So because of the lack of familiarity and ideas that never made it to the final process that included putting lyrics and melodies onto the track, they were looked upon unfavorably.

Their name for starters. They lost me at Offend pretty much...It's the silliest name I've ever had the displeasure of hearing. It sounds like something a bunch of 6th graders would come up with because they think it sounds cool.

Not the best sound but Chester still sounds fantastic. I love the song stripped down like this and prefer it to the original. I don't expect LP to start doing acoustic songs though since it doesn't seems to be their style. Piano versions are fine with me.

I think lpu9 was better but this is still really good.

Please, i'm sure you were one of the people who said lpu9 sucked because it only had one full length song with the rest being demos.

I don't know if people understand the meaning of the word DEMO. It is equivalent to the word IDEA. It is an idea for a song they had. A demon can appear in different forms. It can be a guitar piece. A drum piece, a bass piece, a vocal piece or whatnot. It can be full song with the vocals or only the instrumentals because they couldn't figure out any words to go with it. Basically it can be at any stage of the song writing process until they scrapped it. It is a demo because it was never finished to the level the band deemed okay. So whining about a demo because it is only the instrumental portion or any reason to be honest is redundant and pointless. It's like complaining that your dog barks. Of course it barks. It's a dog. There is a reason the songs were not finished nor included on any album. You can't say you want demos and your complains be that you don't like them because they're demos. People need to seriously get a clue.

Obviously they're not going to abandon the black and white theme anytime soon so its best to get with the program and move on to the good things.

This! I think Matt is a great singer with a unique voice but him and Chester are too different to bother comparing on any equal level.

WOW! People were not joking when they said that dude was one lucky bastard! I am so envious of him. Although, i don't know why considering i don't even play the guitar nor would my shy self actually be able to overcome my stage fright and not melt into a puddle with Mike Shinoda that up close.

Keep in mind, LP's on-stage setlist doesn't list Empty Spaces or The Radiance, so they only have 23 songs listed normally. If they dropped OSC, Crawling, Given Up, and NMS, their on-stage setlist would then have 19 songs on it.

 

 

 

Instead of relying on opinions, I think it'd be more effective to point out that Matt Bellamy pretty much hits every note he sings perfectly every single night on stage. Muse makes far fewer mistakes on stage than LP does (even on their best nights), and their stage setup/light show is far more elaborate.

 

I think judging the quality of a live band should be based on 1) how well they perform their material, and 2) how much the theatrical aspects of their performances set them apart from other bands. Muse easily trumps LP in both categories.

 

 

 

Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot, we have to blindly believe that OMGZ LP IS DA BEST BAND AT EVERYTHING EVER! Sorry that some people refuse to turn a blind eye to the fact that there are bands out there that do certain things better than LP.

Sounds like Lindsay Lohan mixed with Paris Hilton with Britney Spears and all the acting talent of Kristen Stewart in Twilight sprinkled in. Basically, it sounds like pure shit. They should never remix another LP song. In my opinion, they stripped it of all its essence.

Makes sense to me. And it makes sense considering Chester himself. I remember Mike saying once that Chester is very passionate. And i'd say yeah, given that he left his home and moved to L.A because he believed in the music and wanted to be a part of it without thoughts of the implication. Ergo, he likes the same kind of passion from other people. He would rather you felt passionate about the music than just lukewarm. He doesn't care if its love or hate because those feelings takes passion. I bet he is the sort of person who would rather have a small group of fans who loved the music with a passion than a large group filled with some who are just casual fans and go when the wind blows. And i would feel exactly the same way about my art. I would rather people hated my stories outright than say it was OK which to me = worse reception ever.

I like when he talked about Waiting for the End. Although, Mike was right. Getting the explanation for the songs sometimes ruins it. It's like a spoiler you never want to ever get.

how do we know mike isnt registered to the site cause know1 will know his I.P address anyways, and he could easily set up an email address, how do we know he doesnt comment on the forums? and puts something on the wall that think could happen then does happen at one of the shows.

That's just creepy dude. I am a big fan of Mike and everything, but i do not want him or any of the band members peeking in here, not even a little. It's a little awkward. I hate to think of all the crap he sees people vomit all over here.
