  6. We had our first Monday meeting of 2010. First, we took a listen to the first five songs, which are almost finished and sounding great. I was going to tell you guys the working titles...but I changed my mind. I realized if I did that, the linkinpark.com, lpunderground.com, and fan site forums would be flooded with threads about them, where people make crazy guesses about the songs' sounds based on the working title...followed by thousands of fake links to "leaked mp3s" within a few days. Since I have great respect for your valuable time, I won't tempt you to waste it on such things. :-) Anyway, back to Monday: We started thinking about the second batch...we have 15-20 songs that we like, and we'll be picking a new batch from those. There are a few common themes beginning to circulate in the lyrics and in the music. As I think I mentioned, the record might be a little more conceptual than our other ones. Not a "concept album" per se (it's not as far-out as that term would have you imagine), but it definitely has some thematic threads tying it together. One funny thing came to mind as I was writing this: the term "genre busting" seems to keep coming up when talking about this album. In fact, if you Google "genre busting," the first thing you get is a link to an interview with me about this new music. If you read the piece, you'll see the following: Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda says the band’s fourth studio album is going to be so unique, “they’re going to have to come up with a new genre name for what this record is.” This offhanded comment was meant to be a bit of a joke. Most people don't take it as lightly as I meant it; because of that, part of me regretted saying it. But recently, there's a voice in the back of my head saying: Why not really make that the bar? "So unique that they'll have to make a new genre name." I don't know if we'll ever be able to hit that mark, but we might as well give it a shot. -Mike Thoughts?

Yea i agree with you and with Mike but I remember he said that MTM would be different but we would say "It's definitly LP" but some of the songs weren't that way.

    Mike's Update

Im not deciding what we want im generalising and dont tell me its not true if we could ask all the lp fans they'd rather have a HT album style.

    Mike's Update

Yea but that's what I think we want i mean the best MTM songs were those who are clo se to te previous albums imo

    Mike's Update

I got a Nord Electro 3 for Christmas. I can't wait to start using it...we're moving on from the last batch of songs (5) to a new batch. I don't know what songs will be in the new batch. We have about 15 contenders, with some brand new gems that I worked on with Chester and Brad. The first LP studio meeting of 2010 is next Monday, so we'll vote on it then. BTW, here's a better clip of the Medvedev interview. I know I was late on it. I forgot to post it because I was drunk on egg nog. http://rt.com/Top_News/2009-12-24/medvedev...c-holidays.html Thoughts?

  16. Chester singing "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" by Smashing Pumpkins
  17. WTH?? By the way what I dont like about LP -Not enough collaboration -The redundance of the setlists -In between being in MTm whereas No roads left (Not because of chester's sefishness lol) and across the line werent -The fact they do a lot of concerts in countries like Germany and Japan (no offense) but not in countries like France Spain Italy where they have a big fanbase.
  18. From this source http://www.thewrap.com/ind-column/academy-...ontenders-11891 The Academy has announced the 63 contenders in the Best Song category for the 82nd Oscars show. Among the films represented by multiple entries are "Hannah Montana the Movie" with five, "The Princess and the Frog" with, and "Nine," "Crazy Heart," "Where the Wild Things Are," "An Education," "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus," "My One and Only," "Skin," "Adventures of Power" and "Invictus" (two each). Artists include U2 ("Winter"), Jarvis Cocker ("Petey's Blues"), Linkin Park ("New Divide") and Paul McCartney ("(I Want to) Come Home"). Thoughts?
