Just got my box. I expected a cardboard box but it actually looks a little bit more premium. The book looks super great. Super happy with the whole package in general. The only thing that bothers me way more than it should even though it is super minor: the Fillmore/RaR and the Frat Party DVDs are mislabeled. So the DVD that says it contains the two shows actually contains Frat Party and vice versa.

Got my tracking code a couple of hours ago (I‘m in Germany).

Amazon Music To Remaster Linkin Park In Ultra HD + 3D Audio
Coizu replied to lpliveusername's topic in Newswire
I think that depends on how Amazon is doing everthing. If they get the source material from the bands that is possible but if they make some magic interpolation "machine learning" whatever stuff with it (which I think is more likely), then probably not. -
Amazon Music To Remaster Linkin Park In Ultra HD + 3D Audio

I got that. But comparing that to movies from the 80s in 4k is a bad comparison because those movies exist in 4k quality or even higher. -

Bad comparison. If a movie was shot on film, that film most likely holds way more information than you could cover with a 1080p transfer. Transferring old film to 4k or even more actually makes a lot of sense. Here is an article that explains it way better than I ever could: https://www.howtogeek.com/199182/ask-htg-how-can-studios-release-high-definition-versions-of-decades-old-movies-and-tv-shows/ -
Q&A With Linkin Park + Projekt Revolution 2002 Stream
Coizu replied to lpliveusername's topic in Newswire
No it won't and I am not complaining about the box set at all. I would have just preferred it if they went with Bluray instead. They could have focused the marketing around "3 shows and a documentary" instead of the number of DVDs. But I get your point. -
Q&A With Linkin Park + Projekt Revolution 2002 Stream

For me the reason why they should put this on Bluray instead of DVD was mostly about having one disk instead of multiple disks. I never expected a better quality. -

I would buy so much more merch if they wouldn't spread everything out across weeks. I don't want to pay for shipping every couple of weeks. Also does someone understand the sale prices? Until when are those things on "sale" and when will they go to their regular prices? -
Winner will be announced Friday 3 PM EST.

So last week Linkin Park posted on Twitter which 3 songs people would keep from Hybrid Theory (https://twitter.com/linkinpark/status/1302283688747528192) Today I thought I should crunch the numbers and here is what people replied: Image version Interactive graph The graph is based on around 5.6k tweets that were collected in the first 48 hours after the Tweet was created and shows how many of those 5.6k tweets mentioned a certain song.

That‘s not a full version.

Even if all he says is true (I am way too uninformed to have any opinion about all that) he should NEVER go around and insult people publicly. You just don‘t do that as a public person. If you do that you immediately look like a huge asshole. Even if other people call you stupid shit, be the bigger person and either try to continue by having a useful and calm discussion or just don‘t participate. There is no win in insulting people. He chose to be the person who wants to argue and insult other people. That alone is enough reason for me to not give him any of my money.

Probably ends up being another broadcast of LIT/RTR songs.

https://lplive.net/shows/mikeshinoda19/20190322 Don Broco is listed as the opening act but Tiavo was the actual opener. Also the "Other Notes" section says that Don Broco was announced for all German shows which is not true (the announcement didn't include Munich and Ludwigsburg). The same note is on the show page for Munich, but the opening act list is correct there (https://lplive.net/shows/mikeshinoda19/20190318)

I think there are way less people out there listening to 5.1 music than vinyl. Super niche thing so I don't think it would have been worth it.
-
Another way to look at the value is to just look how much you spend for each item without even giving special value to the content. You have 3 vinyls, 5 CDs, 3 DVDs, 1 cassette tape, 1 book, 3 lithographs and 1 poster. So 17 items, which means you pay $11.64 per item. You might argue that $11.64 is a lot for a lithograph and maybe that's true, but then you also have to consider that a vinyl for $11.64 is a very good price from what I can tell after some quick googling. So in total, just based on the amount of products you get inside of this package, I think the price is totally fair.

Nope, still working as expected. You can go to the password thing and enter it, you don't even need to open the defragger first anymore.

I am torn on my impression if the computer thing was supposed to go that way. The thing that makes me thing that this was the plan all along is that we had the list of all themes right from the beginning and they didn't skip one. We got the last possible theme yesterday.

Even if you don't have better quality, having all on one disc is just so much more convenient.

Almost forgot to post this but the shoutbox discussion reminded me: So I checked the Soundcloud API response about the track while it was still there. The fields that give you the date and time of the upload was the same as the date and time of the last edit. When you change a track from private to public, it will update the time of the last edit to whenever you made that change. You can also check out a (broken) cached version of the soundcloud page from June this year: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:nC_XRwX_MvUJ:https://soundcloud.com/user-99907739/xero-linkin-park&lr=lang_de|lang_en&hl=en&gl=de&tbs=lr:lang_1de|lang_1en&strip=1&vwsrc=0 So in short: The song was public on Soundcloud since over a year. Crazy.

Maybe they didn't list a location for the PR02 DVD because it uses recordings of multiple shows.

Preordered the biggest set. 2 things that confuse me: 1. So even with the most expensive set, the only way to listen to the HTEP is through vinyl? 2. There is not a single set that includes every single thing. If I would care about having all the vinyls I would have to buy 2 sets and basically end up with duplicates.

Very good points, and in general I think it is totally reasonable to assume that he recorded the bass on it. I just don't think it is best to write it down as a fact. Maybe I am really nitpicking about the wording here and I am sorry if I come across like someone stupidly annoying, but I think wording it more like "he most likely recorded the bass for Pictureboard" is a more reasonable approach here.

One possible scenario could be that they already had it recorded, they wanted to play it live and gave it to him so he can learn/practice it maybe.
