  1. My prediction for the setlist: 01. The Catalyst/The Requiem 02. Guilty All the Same 03. Given Up (w/extended outro) 04. Wastelands 05. Blackout (Shortened instrumental) 06. Papercut 07. One Step Closer 08. With You 09. Points of Authority 10. Crawling 11. Runaway 12. By Myself 13. In the End 14. A Place for My Head 15. Forgotten 16. Cure for the Itch 17. Pushing Me Away 18. Burn it Down 19. Numb (w/Numb/Encore intro/outro/first verse guitar) 20. Faint (w/extended outro) [Encore] 21. Until It's Gone (w/extended No More Sorrow/The Catalyst intro) 22. What I've Done (w/extended bridge solo) 23. Bleed it Out (w/extended intro, extended bridge w/drum solo and The Catalyst refrain, extended outro) I know this may seem a little short, but with them playing the full versions of Papercut, With You, Crawling, and Runaway, this actually comes out to about the same length as their current setlist, if not slightly longer.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f3IhqRvJ8I - Mike's playing the same guitar parts he always plays. No clue what you're talking about.
  3. Not confirmed but the popular guess seems to be War.
  4. Unless you add the In My Remains sample to the set notes for MIke's solo, the Show Notes entry for it should stay. Also, it's not the bridge of IMR that's used in the Mike medley, it's the keyboards/beat from the verses. *Edit* Brad must have had some technical difficulties during this show, he was playing a PRS on Until It's Gone which is normally a song he plays a Strat on, and he used a Strat earlier in the show.
  5. I heard one little glitch with the guitars between the bridge and the last chorus of GATS, other than that nothing noteworthy so far.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBDMgeGG6QA - 1:16 or so the guitar harmonics from the bridge come in as part of the background stuff. Also, that Youtube user (DolphinPM) has a full front-row audience video up from the show, for anyone who's interested in a different perspective from what the proshot footage showed (also something that should be added as a source on LPL IMO, but the anti-digicam/cellphone powers-that-be will probably shoot down that idea). Possibly worth noting that Steve Aoki stagedived into the crowd at the end of ALTNC, haha.
  7. Another small tidbit, Brad has completely abandoned singing backing vocals, no microphone to be seen in front of him at any point during the set. Joe and Phoenix also seem to have scaled back the amount of backups they're doing.
  8. Pretty much, except it's both amp and effects modeling. Almost all of the other rack-mounted gear, MIDI switching boards, preamp modules, etc. that they had in the old rigs is gone (I think there might still be a couple old things in there like the EHX HOG and maybe the Drawmer Dual Gate) Makes for a much simpler signal chain. The only pedal Brad has on stage anymore is the expression pedal that he uses for the WFTE solo.
  9. http://lplive.net/shows/db/2014/20140530 - Says the Castle of Glass Experience version "debuted" here, probably just accidentally got copied over from the Tucson show. It also says Brad and Rob had the most technical problems, shouldn't that be Brad and Joe? I only remember one thing going wrong with Rob during the whole show when one of the Burn it Down drum samples wasn't working, but Joe had samples quit working on him in like 5 or 6 different songs lol.
  10. This is easily the most HT/Meteora-like song the band has released since QWERTY. Still not a total HT/Meteora sound-alike though, Mike's rapping style is more in line with his recent stuff (WTCFM, Skin to Bone remix, Until it Breaks, etc. come to mind), and it's got some really cool synth stuff in it that's reminiscent of the last 2 albums.
  11. First verse of Numb does have guitar. It's the guitar part from Numb/Encore. Band isn't using amps for guitars at all anymore (or pedals for effects for that matter), everything's coming from Fractal Audio Axe-FX II's for both Brad and Mike. Looks like Mike just happens to have a single Mesa/Boogie 2x12 cabinet on stage for something he can get up close to for feedback.
  12. He still fucked up quite a bit, but the one that sounded the worst wasn't his fault.
  13. Re-watched Until It's Gone, and I realized that the embarrassingly bad-sounding screwup on the NMS guitar part wasn't actually Brad's fault. He's using the EBow there, and you can hear it working just fine for the first few notes. When it gets messed up, the camera happens to pan right over to Brad, and you can see that he's still playing the correct notes with his left hand. The EBow malfunctioned somehow, not really sure how that happened as it's such a simple device, maybe the battery in it was dead or something. He tossed the EBow away after a few seconds and played the rest of the intro with a pick, which didn't sound quite "right" but at least it was passable.
  14. They're still having a lot of technical glitches with the new gear. Not convinced triggering all the effect changes for the entire band from one giant Ableton Live session was a good idea. Joe in particular seems to have issues with samples not working correctly on like every other song. WID solo is definitely a highlight, although I liked the Tucson one better. My favorite parts of the set: 1. The entirety of "Act II" with the exception of the Ballad Medley is just brilliantly put together. Probably my favorite "block" of a set they've done in a long time. 2. Robot Boy > Joe's solo. 3. Mike's solo. 4. THE SCREENS. Holy fuck. They didn't have those at Tucson, so that was a surprise. The way it's set up reminds me a lot of the "towers" Muse had on their stage a few years ago. Sucks that you can't see Joe and Rob very well for a big chunk of the show, but still a great way to refresh the X-shaped stage they've been using for ages. 5. WID > BIO. As many times as these songs have closed shows, I feel like the changes they've made to them on this tour really make them feel like they "belong" at the end. Rob is fucking MURDERING the drums on his solo now. My biggest complaint with the set? I don't think the Requiem/Catalyst mashup really works as an intro to the show. It's kind of meandering and forgettable. I'd rather them just play The Requiem normally or something, that was a hell of an intro that got everyone pumped up.
  15. Also, I love how this is the EXACT same setlist as Tucson, there was video of almost that entire show posted all over the place, and now we have all of these people coming out of the woodwork acting all offended as if this is something shocking and unexpected. Welcome to 6 days ago, people.
  16. *facepalm* This fanbase. I can't even. What the fuck do you think would happen if they started playing more full-length songs? They'd go back to playing New Divide, Papercut, Lost in the Echo, etc. in full (MAYBE A Light That Never Comes), and to keep the show the same length, the first thing they'd drop would be With You, Runaway, Crawling, and probably stuff like Joe's solo spot and the Blackout/Robot Boy interludes. Then guess what? We'd be RIGHT back to the same old "they always play the same songs!" complaining that people have been doing for the last 10 fucking years. I applaud Linkin Park for somehow still having the collective morale to even bother going out on tour anymore (or maybe they just do it for the money, who really knows). If I were them, I'd say fuck it, pull a Beatles, and become a studio-only band, because they clearly cannot satisfy people in their fanbase when it comes to putting together a setlist. They could go out and play for 3 hours a night and people would find SOME reason to say the show sucks. "They didn't play QWERTY! Fuck them!"
  17. Chester is using some degree of Auto Tune (or a similar plug-in) on his live vocals now. Noticed it immediately on GATS from Lisbon. I think they're only using it for certain parts of certain songs though, because he still goes off-key in some places. The Ballad Medley was another spot I noticed the pitch correction standing out. I know some people will be disappointed by this and probably even try to argue that it's not true, but trust me. The sound of Auto Tune really "grabbing" something and pulling it into key is a sound that stands out a lot. I noticed it on GATS because it actually pulled a couple of the pitches wrong in the first verse and made Chester's voice sound all glitchy for a moment. Guitar-wise, Brad is using a new Strat, it's a Masterbuilt 1962 Ultimate Relic Strat from Fender's Custom Shop, in an aged Coral Pink finish. He also used this same guitar extensively in the studio for the new record - http://s19.photobucket.com/user/bulletsforthebeautiful/media/freewebs/b73.jpg.html - but that guitar belongs to Ethan Mates. LP has used 2 touring rigs so far in 2 shows and Brad's had this Strat at both shows, so he bought at least 1 identical copy of Ethan's guitar and may be using Ethan's on tour as well, or he could have bought 2 of them. I haven't seen the Rory Gallagher Strats make an appearance yet in either show they've played. Mike used Brad's old Scarlet Smokeburst Custom 24 with the Fernandes Sustainer on Waiting For the End at Lisbon, he hasn't used that one live before (Brad also rarely used it): http://s19.photobucket.com/user/bulletsforthebeautiful/media/freewebs/b37.jpg.html Mike also used his rarely-seen Classic Player '50s Strat with a maple neck/Shoreline Gold finish at Lisbon, which was the first time I've seen him use it on stage, despite it being a guitar he's had around since the Minutes to Midnight period: http://s19.photobucket.com/user/bulletsforthebeautiful/media/freewebs/m44.jpg.html In terms of other guitar-related gear, neither the band nor their techs are doing any effect patch changes anymore, Brad doesn't even have a pedalboard on stage now. All of the effects patches for ALL of the instruments are triggered automatically by the Ableton Live-powered "brain" computer that basically controls the entire show now. As I said before, Brad's effects themselves (as well as his amp models) are coming from a Fractal Audio Axe-FX II. The only pedal Brad still has on stage is the expression pedal he uses for the octave sweep effect on the Waiting For the End solo. Still haven't figured out what the Pintech pads on either side of Mike's new keyboard setup are used for.
  18. Brad actually didn't mess up GATS at all. Mike plays the main riff after the piano part of the intro (Brad plays the secondary harmony part there), he screwed that up several times.
  19. Alright, changes that need to be made to the show page for Tucson by going off this show: -Points of Authority should have a "shortened intro" note. They count in and launch straight into the guitar riff rather than looping through the synth intro a couple times first. -Add Wretches and Kings to the Joe medley. -The Catalyst/No More Sorrow intro to Until it's Gone also features one particular sample from the bridge of New Divide (Mike plays it on his sampler). I don't think it's worth changing the intro to "The Catalyst/No More Sorrow/Until It's Gone/New Divide" or anything, but a note should be made of it somehow like the In My Remains samples in Mike's medley. -Lost in the Echo should have "drum transition outro" after it, the drum beat kind of morphs into the one from Crawling. -Crawling was just Intro>Chorus, and yes, the tempo was faster (it basically serves as a bridge between LITE and New Divide). I have it as "Crawling (faster tempo, shortened)." -New Divide was Intro>Verse 1>Chorus 2>Bridge>Chorus 3>Outro. They just skipped Chorus 1 and Verse 2 like they do on With You. -What I've Done has a short extended intro (the "ticking" sample loops a couple times before the piano comes in now). Things that were unique to this show: -No Wastelands verse on the Runaway outro, Mike threw CDs into the crowd at that point instead. -Encore break added. -Steve Aoki came out on stage during ALTNC, but didn't do anything musically (his gear wasn't set up).
  20. Nothing that I can tell, other than Mike being better at generating feedback than Brad so the ending of the song actually sounds somewhat right for a change. Wretches and Kings needs to be added to the Joe medley, there's a sample of it in there too. Also no Wastelands verse over the Runaway outro at this show, and they added an encore break.
  21. Dear Jordan Berliant & co: The Collective can collectively suck all of our dicks. Sincerely, Everyone on the Youtube stream. The SIC Radical stream is so pitifully low quality compared to the Youtube stream I'm not even going to bother recording it.
  22. Is it the international Youtube stream that's saying Steve Aoki next, or what? I'm on the U.S. stream and it's still saying "In a few minutes: Linkin Park" in between each loop of the promos they're airing...
  23. Alright, closing all my other Firefox tabs and stuff for minimum CPU load for the stream. I'll be back on after the show.
  24. "In a few minutes: Linkin Park" We're good.
