  1. Eh, it's...a music video. I can probably count on one hand the number of music videos I've ever thought were genuinely "awesome" to the point that they actually enhanced my opinion of the song. They just aren't my thing, I've always thought of them as eye candy without much of a purpose. I'd imagine we'll get a "director's cut" version that uses the full 5:42 song at some point.
  2. I think the 90-minute sets they've apparently been talking about will start with the South American shows, the NYC show is really a standalone event, it's in a very small venue, and it's even being advertised as an "album release party," so I think it'll be an exception. By the time this show takes place, it'll have been nearly 13 months since LP's last live performance, which is even longer than the break they had before last year's tour. I think they'll play a shorter set for something like this just to warm themselves up a bit.
  3. I highly doubt it. The exact same clip is used in the background of 2 of the 5 video clips.
  4. For some reason, I've got a feeling they'll play ATS in its entirety at the 9/14 show, then do an encore of New Divide and a single from the other 3 albums. 01. The Requiem 02. The Radiance 03. Burning in the Skies 04. Empty Spaces 05. When They Come for Me 06. Robot Boy 07. Jornada del Muerto 08. Waiting for the End 09. Blackout 10. Wretches and Kings 11. Wisdom, Justice, and Love 12. Iridescent 13. Fallout 14. The Catalyst 15. The Messenger --- 16. New Divide 17. Bleed it Out 18. Faint 19. One Step Closer Something like that. As for the actual shows beyond that, I haven't a clue.
  5. It's actually S.C.O.M., Cover and Duck, The Battle, and All Night. The song "Right Now" on The Gatalog is an entirely different and unrelated song to Fort Minor's "Right Now." The version of The Battle on that compilation is the "full" version, with the remainder of Celph Titled's verse that was cut off after "either you ignorant or-" I believe all that was cut off the original version was the end of the line, "either you ignorant or you isn't," but Celph Titled went back and added some more to it later for inclusion on The Gatalog. No idea about any differences with the other 3 tracks though.

  7. That's not Mr. Brown - that's a medley of a bunch of various stuff. Amazing that that mislabeling still occurs all the time over 5 years later just because one person's initial report of the setlist at a Fort Minor show said something to the effect of "Mr. Brown/Medley." There are several old hip hop songs sampled there - one I can think of off the top of my head is Welcome to the Terrordome by Public Enemy (the "hear the drummer get wicked" sample). The "yeah boy" sample is obviously Flava Flav, but I have no idea which song it's from since he said that so often.
  8. Across the Line, by far. And I guarantee 95% of the people who vote for Pretend to Be are only doing so because it's fresh. People ALWAYS like stuff better when it's new. 44 people have voted as of me making this post, and it's 29-15 in favor of Across the Line. Ask the same 44 people the same question 6 months from now, and it'll probably be more like 40-4.
  9. The remixes were added to that later then, because that's exactly where I downloaded it from originally and it didn't come with the remixes when I did.
  10. Fake, fake, a thousand times fake. LMAO @ the idea of Hybrid Theory, circa 1998-1999, performing Lying From You. *closed*
  11. Sounds like the same thing as the "A Thousand Suns email bundle" that you can get from LP.com, with the addition of the remixes. Which 2 remixes are they? I'm assuming one is NoBrain's.
  12. FFS, the setlist at the beginning of the MTM cycle was only 16 songs and barely lasted an hour. Of COURSE the new setlist is going to be shorter! That's just common sense. Anyone who seriously thinks LP is going to jump right into a new touring cycle playing 22 songs every night is expecting WAY too much.
  13. Yep, noticed that right away. We already know that's a lyric in one of the songs on ATS... Wait a minute... OH! I get it now! "What I don't deserve" = being charged $60 for half the product I paid $30 for last year! Yeah, that's what I don't deserve!
  14. Uhh...except it clearly says on the LPU website that only the $60 memberships have access to the merch store. http://www.linkinpark.com/lpu If the CD costs $10 in the merch store, that means you have to pay $70 total to get it. I'd like to have some of what you're smoking if you think that's acceptable.
  15. Yeah, as has been mentioned numerous times already, the CD is NOT included with the $60 membership fee - there are no physical "package" items included in that. You have to pay extra for those and purchase them in the LPU Store. As for the CD, cool. I'd be even more excited for it if I could actually get it for a semi-reasonable price.
  16. Strip club. DO IT.
  17. I remember Silhouettes and Nowhere Kids getting a fair amount of airplay on Fuse from the Smile Empty Soul CD...they totally disappeared after one album though. Walk Idiot Walk was a pretty big hit for The Hives too.
  18. I'd imagine you'd be able to still get in the LPU store with the monthly membership, yeah. Or at least I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to.
  19. As much as I tend to pick apart things Adam says, I have to agree, I really appreciate him being around too. The band is usually pretty good at explaining the "who/what/where/when" of things, but having someone from the management/business side of things involved in the community helps explain the "why" and "how." I hope Adam doesn't take all the negative criticism too personally, because it's not directed at him as much as it's directed at the whole behind the scenes/inner workings aspect of the band's decisions. He's just the only guy from that side of things that interacts with us on a regular basis, so he ends up being the whipping boy sometimes. I kind of feel bad for him.
  20. Sweet, Brad's playing a Jaguar!
  21. I don't see it...? The most recent thing on their wall is a photo of Brad at the video shoot. *Edit* Found it, it's on the Music tab.
  22. It's okay. Pretty run-of-the-mill song that they probably churned out in a couple days.
  23. You know what the majority of those people who only sign onto LPU to buy presale tickets are? Scalpers. Congratulations, you just made it cheaper for them to monopolize the presale tickets. Yeah, I know you imposed that limit of either 2 or 4 tickets per account (I forget which), but that doesn't mean much to the scalpers who will gladly register half a dozen monthly accounts for $60 total, buy a dozen tickets, and then re-sell them at an inflated rate that'll make them a hefty profit even with the extra $60 for the LPU memberships on top of what they paid for the tickets. So let me get this straight...you think it's perfectly acceptable to double the basic price of your service, and then charge extra on top of that for items that were bundled with the main membership in the past? I'm guessing that even with a conservative estimate, you're going to have to pay another $15 for the CD and t-shirt. That comes out to $75 for essentially the same service people paid $30 for last year. LPU9: $30 for the website access and membership package. LPUX: $60 for the "LPU experience" (can't call it the same thing or people will get suspicious, after all!), plus an additional fee for any physical merchandise. On what planet is it EVER acceptable for a business to more than double the cost of their product, particularly while simultaneously cutting out the part of said product that the majority of fans were most interested in every year, and making people pay extra for it? There are certain instances where a higher-priced product is acceptable to me. $80 for the LPU9 Premier package with the limited edition vinyl? Hey, it comes with everything in the Bonus Pass, so the extra $40 or so isn't ridiculous. $100 for the "superfan" editions of Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns? You get a TON of stuff in those, particularly the ATS one. That's not ridiculous at all for a CD/DVD/2LP/hardcover coffee table book box set. But $60 for an LPU membership that doesn't include any kind of physical package items, when all we have to go on is essentially your promise that it'll be the best LPU yet? Come on, what kind of business says that their new product isn't going to be better than what came before it? Of course you're going to say that, regardless of what the case may be. In particular, what I don't understand is how you can say that this isn't "just an online-only membership" and then turn around and say there's no physical package included. LPU has always been essentially split up into online and offline memberships - offline included the package, online didn't. If this $60 membership doesn't include a package...what else can you possibly call it?
  24. LMFAO. And now they clarified that the $60 is JUST FOR THE ONLINE MEMBERSHIP ALONE. The actual package with the CD, t-shirt, etc. is extra on top of that! Hey Adam, how much you gonna charge for that, $140? This is borderline extortion. I sincerely hope that the backlash from this is so massive that LPU loses money on the deal and gets to suffer financially just like the majority of the rest of the people in the world who don't have Warner and their deep pockets to fall back on. On a (slightly) positive note, apparently you get an unreleased demo called Pretend to Be (along with the 2008 live version of My December from Songs from the Underground) as a download when you preorder LPUX. Hopefully one of the 4 or so people dumb enough to fall for this rip-off will be kind enough to share.
  25. Goodbye, LPU. You can say goodbye to the likelihood of the majority of your previous members coming back as well. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person who doesn't like getting raped in the ass. The LP Street Team was ruined after its redesign. LP.com was ruined after its redesign. LPU would probably have been ruined after its redesign, so they decided to get it over with ahead of time by announcing the prices early. I will proudly admit that from this day forward, I will be downloading every new LPU CD illegally and seeding it on every torrent site I can find.
