The remixes were added to that later then, because that's exactly where I downloaded it from originally and it didn't come with the remixes when I did. -
Hybrid Theory (before they changed their name) Performance
Astat replied to FaiNt's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Fake, fake, a thousand times fake. LMAO @ the idea of Hybrid Theory, circa 1998-1999, performing Lying From You. *closed* -

Sounds like the same thing as the "A Thousand Suns email bundle" that you can get from LP.com, with the addition of the remixes. Which 2 remixes are they? I'm assuming one is NoBrain's. -
"A Thousand Suns" 9/14 Concert Info / Shorter Setlists?
Astat replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
FFS, the setlist at the beginning of the MTM cycle was only 16 songs and barely lasted an hour. Of COURSE the new setlist is going to be shorter! That's just common sense. Anyone who seriously thinks LP is going to jump right into a new touring cycle playing 22 songs every night is expecting WAY too much. -
Yep, noticed that right away. We already know that's a lyric in one of the songs on ATS... Wait a minute... OH! I get it now! "What I don't deserve" = being charged $60 for half the product I paid $30 for last year! Yeah, that's what I don't deserve!
-
Uhh...except it clearly says on the LPU website that only the $60 memberships have access to the merch store. http://www.linkinpark.com/lpu If the CD costs $10 in the merch store, that means you have to pay $70 total to get it. I'd like to have some of what you're smoking if you think that's acceptable.
-
Yeah, as has been mentioned numerous times already, the CD is NOT included with the $60 membership fee - there are no physical "package" items included in that. You have to pay extra for those and purchase them in the LPU Store. As for the CD, cool. I'd be even more excited for it if I could actually get it for a semi-reasonable price.

Strip club. DO IT.
-
I remember Silhouettes and Nowhere Kids getting a fair amount of airplay on Fuse from the Smile Empty Soul CD...they totally disappeared after one album though. Walk Idiot Walk was a pretty big hit for The Hives too.
-
I'd imagine you'd be able to still get in the LPU store with the monthly membership, yeah. Or at least I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to.

As much as I tend to pick apart things Adam says, I have to agree, I really appreciate him being around too. The band is usually pretty good at explaining the "who/what/where/when" of things, but having someone from the management/business side of things involved in the community helps explain the "why" and "how." I hope Adam doesn't take all the negative criticism too personally, because it's not directed at him as much as it's directed at the whole behind the scenes/inner workings aspect of the band's decisions. He's just the only guy from that side of things that interacts with us on a regular basis, so he ends up being the whipping boy sometimes. I kind of feel bad for him.

Sweet, Brad's playing a Jaguar!
-
I don't see it...? The most recent thing on their wall is a photo of Brad at the video shoot. *Edit* Found it, it's on the Music tab.
-
It's okay. Pretty run-of-the-mill song that they probably churned out in a couple days.

You know what the majority of those people who only sign onto LPU to buy presale tickets are? Scalpers. Congratulations, you just made it cheaper for them to monopolize the presale tickets. Yeah, I know you imposed that limit of either 2 or 4 tickets per account (I forget which), but that doesn't mean much to the scalpers who will gladly register half a dozen monthly accounts for $60 total, buy a dozen tickets, and then re-sell them at an inflated rate that'll make them a hefty profit even with the extra $60 for the LPU memberships on top of what they paid for the tickets. So let me get this straight...you think it's perfectly acceptable to double the basic price of your service, and then charge extra on top of that for items that were bundled with the main membership in the past? I'm guessing that even with a conservative estimate, you're going to have to pay another $15 for the CD and t-shirt. That comes out to $75 for essentially the same service people paid $30 for last year. LPU9: $30 for the website access and membership package. LPUX: $60 for the "LPU experience" (can't call it the same thing or people will get suspicious, after all!), plus an additional fee for any physical merchandise. On what planet is it EVER acceptable for a business to more than double the cost of their product, particularly while simultaneously cutting out the part of said product that the majority of fans were most interested in every year, and making people pay extra for it? There are certain instances where a higher-priced product is acceptable to me. $80 for the LPU9 Premier package with the limited edition vinyl? Hey, it comes with everything in the Bonus Pass, so the extra $40 or so isn't ridiculous. $100 for the "superfan" editions of Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns? You get a TON of stuff in those, particularly the ATS one. That's not ridiculous at all for a CD/DVD/2LP/hardcover coffee table book box set. But $60 for an LPU membership that doesn't include any kind of physical package items, when all we have to go on is essentially your promise that it'll be the best LPU yet? Come on, what kind of business says that their new product isn't going to be better than what came before it? Of course you're going to say that, regardless of what the case may be. In particular, what I don't understand is how you can say that this isn't "just an online-only membership" and then turn around and say there's no physical package included. LPU has always been essentially split up into online and offline memberships - offline included the package, online didn't. If this $60 membership doesn't include a package...what else can you possibly call it?
-
LMFAO. And now they clarified that the $60 is JUST FOR THE ONLINE MEMBERSHIP ALONE. The actual package with the CD, t-shirt, etc. is extra on top of that! Hey Adam, how much you gonna charge for that, $140? This is borderline extortion. I sincerely hope that the backlash from this is so massive that LPU loses money on the deal and gets to suffer financially just like the majority of the rest of the people in the world who don't have Warner and their deep pockets to fall back on. On a (slightly) positive note, apparently you get an unreleased demo called Pretend to Be (along with the 2008 live version of My December from Songs from the Underground) as a download when you preorder LPUX. Hopefully one of the 4 or so people dumb enough to fall for this rip-off will be kind enough to share.
-
Goodbye, LPU. You can say goodbye to the likelihood of the majority of your previous members coming back as well. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person who doesn't like getting raped in the ass. The LP Street Team was ruined after its redesign. LP.com was ruined after its redesign. LPU would probably have been ruined after its redesign, so they decided to get it over with ahead of time by announcing the prices early. I will proudly admit that from this day forward, I will be downloading every new LPU CD illegally and seeding it on every torrent site I can find.
-
This. If the LPU's new "forum" is anything like the archaic early 90s bulletin board/newsgroup-style crap on LP.com, that'll pretty much be the final nail in the coffin. I'll sign up for the package, but I sure as hell won't have any use for the website anymore. LP.com in its current form is absolutely terrible. Also, looks like LPU 9 will be the first LPU package I've missed out on, because I was planning on renewing sometime in the fall. Yay for an "annual" fanclub membership package only being available for 8 months!

I'm sure Mark will get a kick out of this, haha.
-
LMAO @ anyone who thinks Jonas would create a news topic on something fake. I'm 100% positive this is legit. But it really doesn't mean those songs will be singles. Sometimes that turns out to be the case, sometimes it doesn't.
-
Just throwing out a guess, they may be estimates that were provided by someone who attended one of the listening parties. Alternate theory: There may be some kind of transition to/from The Catalyst on the album that wasn't present on the single release. A little birdie told me that Linkin Park's next album is already in the works, it consists of ten 30-second instrumentals and one 45-minute experimental jam piece. It's tentatively titled "Complain and We'll Give You More to Complain About."
-
I'd say they (or hell, maybe even their parents) probably shot a home video of it, pretty much everybody wants to record their first gig. Nothing that'll ever get into public hands though, for sure.
-
Yup, it's on there as well.
-
Yep. Don't know why it still gets mislabeled as a "demo" 9 years later... And no, the crowd wasn't edited out, this is from BBC Radio 1's Evening Session, which is just like Sessions@AOL or any other number of live-in-studio performances. There was no crowd. Here's the show page: http://lplive.net/shows/20010111-1.php

With You. I think Figure.09 is a better song, but With You always translated better live.
