  1. Guitar: Burning in the Skies, The Little Things Give You Away, From the Inside, Forgotten, And One, Part of Me, Reading My Eyes, A-Six, QWERTY. Bass: Wake/Given Up, Bleed it Out, Easier to Run, Forgotten. Drums: No More Sorrow, Shadow of the Day. Keys: About all I really know are What I've Done and the piano versions of Pushing Me Away and My December...I like to improvise some stuff based around the interlude between Shadow of the Day/What I've Done too. Vocals: ...Anything without screaming/rapping in it, as I most definitely can NOT do either of them.
  2. They're pretty much always rehearsing songs during soundcheck that they aren't necessarily playing at the following show. Any song that they've been playing lately is likely to be soundchecked, especially stuff from ATS, they're still working on improving a lot of the new material.
  3. Yep, I'll be at the M&G! I'll probably be sporting a black LP zip-up hoodie and a bright green t-shirt with Frankenstein on it. If anybody wants to say hi, feel free to. I have pit tickets, and while I can't provide DIRECT setlist updates (I don't have a Twitter...or mobile Internet on my phone at all, for that matter), I'll probably be texting a couple LPLive staff members with updates periodically.

    "Set B13"

I think this setlist flows better than B11...I just don't understand why they'd keep all the interludes in one set and cut several of them from another. Seems kind of lopsided to me. Also, Faint opening = awesome idea, but FUCK. Probably doesn't help my chances of getting to play guitar if they use this set in St. Paul. I really don't mind Wretches and Kings being dropped at this point either. It doesn't sound anywhere near as good live as a lot of other ATS songs. Chester's always off with his timing on the pads and routinely messes up the lyrics in the second chorus, Mike also messes up the lyrics a lot and tends to sound really short of breath in the verses, and the rest of the song just sounds really sloppy live. It and BITS both need a LOT of work still. And as I've said before, BITS isn't on track to be released as a single until after this tour ends. There's no need to play it yet.
  5. Damn, that was quick!
  6. Neither does A Place for My Head, With You, Points of Authority, Figure.09, No Roads Left, Across the Line, QWERTY, or Blackout, but the vast majority of people on here seem to think that any set not containing one or more of the above songs is boring. Robot Boy probably wouldn't be any worse live than most other ATS songs, the instrumentation would be simple enough to pull off, the only real question mark would be how they'd arrange the vocals, with the entire song being at least 3-part harmonies. They could sample some of the backing vocals, but they'd really need 3 strong voices for all the main lyrical parts. I also don't get why people seem to be writing Robot Boy off already as something they'll never play live if they don't play it on this tour. It took them 9 months of touring to play everything off of Meteora, same with Minutes to Midnight. They've been touring for A Thousand suns for less than 4 months, and there was an interview that came out maybe a week ago where they were still talking about playing the entire album from beginning to end at some point. Have a little faith!
  7. But they require you to have a printout of the confirmation email to be allowed entry to the M&G as well, or at least that's what the email states. I have no idea how strict they are on enforcing that.
  8. Should I be concerned about the fact that none of the images are loading in my confirmation email? I'd hate for them not to let me into the M&G because they think my confirmation page is fake or something...
  9. Just got my M&G confirmation for St. Paul!
  10. If you get the error message, refresh the page. Worked just fine for me the second time.
  11. Uhh...that "no two shows will be exactly alike" quote is from like, 2007. And you're taking it out of context anyway, that was in reference to the band becoming a bit more improvisational on stage every night with stuff like Bleed it Out changing a bit from show to show.
  12. No, they have not been confirmed by Mike or anybody else for that matter... ...just like I told everybody almost a month ago. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were the case. Nobody in the U.S. has seen a full-length ATS show before tonight, so why should they feel obligated to do anything different than what they did in Europe and Australia? They're all good sets, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They probably won't add BITS as an "every night" song for a while, I doubt the single/video are going to be out before the end of the U.S. tour anyway. Or they could just be playing what they've been planning on playing all along, since they never said they were doing new and/or rotating sets in the first place. You mean the sets they were supposedly making up on stage during soundcheck earlier tonight? If they were doing that, there's NO WAY they're going to start playing them right away. Maybe on the second leg of the tour or something, but if they weren't doing anything new during tour rehearsals, there's no way they'd come up with something a couple hours before the first show of the tour starts and immediately do it in front of an audience. Excellent set (other than Fallout/The Catalyst being missing). Nobody in that audience had ever seen that set before (unless they flew overseas for a show), and with MAYBE one or two exceptions (I doubt anybody there was at any of the promo performaces in SoCal/NYC), none of them had ever seen anything from ATS performed live before. I doubt they cared one bit. Sounds like a great way to start a tour to me. Yes, I'm sure they'll go out of their way to make sure one song gets played just for you, because the other 24 songs you get to hear totally suck. And I'm not even going to address the "LP never does anything exciting" comment, except to say that as usual, you're making statements that don't reflect well on your intellectual capacity. Master of Puppets must be the "top secret cover song" they posted a preview of on Youtube a few days ago. The vocoder effect isn't used on The Catalyst, so if that was the issue, they probably would've just dropped Fallout, not both of them. It was probably time-related, just because it wasn't due to a curfew doesn't mean the band didn't cut stuff because the show started so late.
  13. Mike: "Am I the only one that's not touching Joe with my pelvis?" WHAT?!
  14. Ick, between Brad being sick and Chester messing up his back again the last night of the Australia tour, I really hope they can hold it together and not have to cancel any shows.
  15. I'll send you St. Paul at some point...if you don't hear from me, hit me up, because I know I'll probably forget.
  16. OH MY GOD, A CHRIS PILKINGTON SIGHTING. I should really get back into collecting, it's been a while. But alas, money is tight.
  17. It's like the letter A. "Astat" is actually a portmanteau of the first letter of my first name and the first syllable of my last name, it comes from my baseball-playing days.

  18. Sweet, that's gotta be the version I was referring to when I posted this thread back in September. Glad to see it was shown again and somebody recorded it.
  19. New design is alright, I'm more concerned with the fact that Sydney night 2 still hasn't been uploaded.
  20. Yep, the synth solo that comes in at 0:43 (on the studio version) is him. I don't think he plays anything before that, but I could be wrong. I think they learned their lesson from experimenting with Hands Held High in a live setting that when they have a song with a lot of vocal layering, it's probably best to sample certain parts. Adding Joe and Brad to the mix with backing vocals (and utilizing Phoenix more often) certainly helps, but none of them are particularly strong singers, so augmenting them with the backing track works out better. If you listen to WFTE from the Berlin DSP, for example, and compare it with the same track from one of the recent Australian DSPs, the difference is like night and day when it comes to the backing vocals.
  21. The live version does.
  22. The Requiem: Mike Shinoda - Lead vocals (album version vocals are played as well, Mike sings over the top of them w/vocoder effect from offstage) The Radiance (original version as performed in NYC on 9/7): Joe Hahn - Speech/video scratching The Radiance (live version): Mike Shinoda - Lead vocals (w/vocoder effect)/keyboards Joe Hahn - Speech/video scratching Burning in the Skies: Chester Bennington - Lead and backing vocals Mike Shinoda - Lead and backing vocals/guitar (Mike plays the guitar solo on this song) Brad Delson - Guitar Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples (piano parts) Rob Bourdon - Drums (he has a tambourine mounted over his hi-hat stand that he only uses on this song too) *Note: Some of the "ohhh" backing vocals near the end of the song are sampled, Mike/Phoenix sing over the top of them. Empty Spaces: Brad Delson - Megaphone (siren) When They Come For Me: Chester Bennington - Lead vocals/drums Mike Shinoda - Rapping/backing vocals/keyboards/theremin (used as a filter control for the synth arpeggios during the bridge) Brad Delson - Drums/guitar/megaphone/backing vocals Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples/backing vocals Rob Bourdon - Drums *Note: The "hey hey hey" backing vocals at the end of the song are sampled, some of the guys sing over the top of them occasionally though (most often Brad and Phoenix). Robot Boy: N/A (hasn't been played live yet) Jornada Del Muerto: Chester Bennington - Vocals Mike Shinoda - Vocals/Keyboards Brad Delson - Guitar Joe Hahn - Samples (probably just at the beginning, he sometimes leaves the stage shortly after the song starts) Waiting For the End: Chester Bennington - Lead and backing vocals Mike Shinoda - Lead and backing vocals/guitar Brad Delson - Keyboards/guitar Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples/backing vocals Rob Bourdon - Drums *Note: The "oh-oh" backing vocals in the first two choruses are sampled (they weren't for the first few shows, it's very noticeable on the DSPs when the change took place), Mike, Joe, and Phoenix sing over the top of them though. Blackout: Chester Bennington - Lead and backing vocals/drums/sampled drums Mike Shinoda - Lead vocals (on ending)/keyboards Brad Delson - Keyboards/drums Phoenix - Sampled bassline (he originally played it on an MPC, but starting in June 2011, he switched to playing it on his Starr Labs Z-Tar)/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples Rob Bourdon - Drums Wretches and Kings: Chester Bennington - Lead vocals/samples (on drum trigger pads) Mike Shinoda - Rapping/backing vocals/samples (either with the MPC-like pads on his keyboard or on the drum trigger pads by swapping with Chester during the chorus, and occasionally the intro as well) Brad Delson - Guitar/backing vocals Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples/scratching/speech scratching/backing vocals Rob Bourdon - Drums *Note: The "hey hey hey" backing vocals are sampled, Mike, Brad, Phoenix, and Joe sing over the top of them though. Wisdom, Justice, and Love: Mike Shinoda - Keyboards Iridescent: Chester Bennington - Lead and backing vocals/guitar Mike Shinoda - Lead and backing vocals/keyboards Brad Delson - Guitar/backing vocals (Brad originally sang backing vocals on this song, but as of mid-2011 he usually doesn't anymore) Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples/backing vocals Rob Bourdon - Drums/tambourine (he has a drumstick in one hand and a tambourine in the other for the first part of the song, much like how he plays Bleed it Out) *Note: The gang vocals are sampled, everybody in the band save for Rob sings over the top of them though (although the sampled vocals are generally what you hear on the DSPs, the live mics aren't turned up much at all). Fallout: Mike Shinoda - Lead vocals/keyboards (album version vocals are played as well, Mike sings over the top of them w/vocoder effect) The Catalyst: Chester Bennington - Lead and backing vocals Mike Shinoda - Lead and backing vocals/keyboards Brad Delson - Guitar/drums/keyboards/backing vocals Phoenix - Bass/backing vocals Joe Hahn - Samples/scratching/backing vocals Rob Bourdon - Drums *Note: The gang vocals are sampled, everybody in the band save for Rob sings over the top of them though. The Messenger: Chester Bennington - Lead vocals Mike Shinoda - Keyboards Brad Delson - Acoustic guitar Rob Bourdon - Drums
  23. Why do people shit their pants over this song so much? Christ. It's a good song and all, but with the way people suck its figurative dick, you'd think it's the only good song this band has written in their entire history. I'm almost as sick of people complaining about this song not being played as I am of all the fake Brazilian shows that are reported on a seemingly monthly basis.
  24. So I guess the Team Sleep remix of My December is nothing important anymore then, since that was just somebody taking the stems from My December and making a remix with them, huh?
  25. *facepalm* Once again, Mark makes a misinformed statement, and the sheep take it as gospel. LP's SNL performances being pulled off Youtube has absolutely NOTHING to do with Warner. NBC pulls pretty much all SNL footage from Youtube that wasn't uploaded by them. Go on Youtube and try finding SNL footage that isn't on either The Lonely Island or Hulu's channels - there's practically nothing.
