I'm now working on a prequel, sequel and an update to Grey Daze Story. lol
-
I remember Brad saying it in more recent years.

Thank you! Here's also a Linkin Park article from December 14th, 2000. It incorrectly states that Chester joined the band called "Zero" in 1997, but it contains a quote from Chester about Grey Daze:
-
Thank you! Yes, that article is from February 5th, 1998 issue. Another interesting quote (from January 18th, 1995): As for songs, I believe they are "Sometimes" and "B12", but it's a guess. "The Down Syndrome" was on radio as well.

Arizona Republic newspaper clippings: New old Grey Daze article + old Electric Ballroom article that mentions the band + confirmations for shows that are already in the guide + 10 new shows that are not in the guide: 1995.04.10 Scottsdale, AZ, Atomic Cafe (with Lemon Krayola) 1995.04.23 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (with Plasterfish, Millennium and Morphine Mary) 1996.01.26 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom 1997.05.23 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (with Puzzle Gut and Vitamin) 1997.07.26 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom 1998.01.31 Tempe, AZ, The Bash On Ash @ McDuffy's 1998.03.17 Tempe, AZ, The Bash On Ash @ McDuffy's, St. Patrick's Day 1998.10.17 Tempe, AZ, Gibson's (with Dislocated Styles, Bionic Jive and Mission G) 1998.10.24 Tempe, AZ, Gibson's (with Yoko Love, Tolerance and Jesus Chrysler Supercar) 1998.10.31 Phoenix, AZ, Jackson's On 3rd, Halloween Bash (with Lucy's Fur Coat and Jesus Chrysler Supercar)

It is Jason Cekoric, the bassist of SDAHF, not Jason Barnes of Grey Daze

Chester and Jason of Sean Dowdell & His Friends on the cover of November 20th, 1992 issue of Greenway High Shool's "Demon Dispatch" newspaper. Some conclusions: 1) It looks like the same performance as the one on the photo from a few posts above. The same position and outfit, the same photographer and the headline is also talking about the same thing as that photo's description from Greenway High School's yearbook: the school's flex schedule days. So the date of this performance is likely 1992.11.xx. That was the 1993 yearbook, hence the current date of the show in the guide, but it actually covers the period from Autumn 1992 - Spring 1993, so it makes sense. 2) It was just Chester and Jason without the rest of the band.

Thank a lot! I see Refreshments has had a good online presence back then, so I'll look into their webpages to see if there's anything useful.
-
So looks like the date 2005.11.05 Mesa, AZ, Mesa Amphitheatre, Taste The Music Festival was actually going to be the first Dead By Sunrise show (Chester's solo show to be exact), not a Bucket Of Weenies show. It is a commercial release, so it is definitely official. I think the list should be divided into "Remixes released by Linkin Park" and "Linkin Park remixes released by other artists". The focus should be on the way the songs were released. The list would be almost unchanged, but stuff like Viscera would be moved to the second section. I think it would be more accurate this way.

What's possible in the wake of the most recent update that says that apparently they were already looking for a replacement for Chester at least in August is that Chester's possible presence on Kimmel doesn't mean anything now. The band has played 11 shows with Chester since August and I wouldn't be surprised if he is still there for the Kimmel appearance as well.
-
Someone posted the new update on LPLive's Twitter and Facebook, but has put the wrong name in there. It is fixed now.
-
According to Highly Suspect's singer Johnny Stevens, he got an offer to join Stone Temple Pilots in August, but turned it down.
-
I don't think anyone thinks that Joss is a replacement for Chester. We should just see if Chester is present during that upcoming performance. The performance itself is something Jimmy Kimmel sets up everytime for entertainment, like Weezer performing with ZZ Top as "Wee-Z Top". If Chester is not there, it gives us an extra clue. If he's there, then the rumors are most likely false.
-
Very sad, if it's true. Chester has got a lot to prove with that upcoming STP album. Also, feel bad for the band. Super awkward situation after everything that was happening between 2012 and 2015. Isn't it weird that Aftershock 2012 was the last STP show with Scott, and now there's a possibility that Aftershock 2015 is probably the last show the band did with Chester?

Brett Buchanan of AlternativeNation.net recently conducted an in-depth interview with former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland for his site that will be released in its entirety on Monday. Today he posted a tidbit from it, in which Scott talks about Chester's current status with STP: Scott Weiland is widely known to make a lot of bold statements that ended up being not true in the past, but today I got a word from an anonymous source that the rumor is true. According to him, Chester has chosen to leave Stone Temple Pilots to spend more time with his family and focus on Linkin Park. This person says that nothing bad occurred between them and that the band and Chester are still on great terms. There wasn't an official statement on the subject yet, so the question remains open until it is confirmed by either Stone Temple Pilots or Linkin Park camp. We will probably get some sort of a confirmation on Monday, since "Joss Stone Temple Pilots" are set to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of their "Mash-Up Monday": http://headlineplanet.com/home/2015/11/06/joss-stone-temple-pilots-future-scheduled-to-perform-on-jimmy-kimmel-live/ We'll see if Chester is there. UPDATE: According to Highly Suspect's singer Johnny Stevens, he got an offer to join Stone Temple Pilots in August, but turned it down. UPDATE 2: It is confirmed. STP has released a statement: http://stonetemplepilots.com/stone-temple-pilots-and-chester-bennington-amicably-part-ways/ "The last few years have been an amazing experience. I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short. Going in to this, the four of us Robert, Eric, Dean and myself knew what we were up against. We decided in due fairness to friends, fans and the legacy of STP that it needs more than time was allowing me. And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, Im going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100%. Its been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park. Chester What an amazing and beautiful few years weve all had together. It was our honor to play and see all of you recently on tour. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time together with Chester not only professionally, but even more so on a personal level. Sadly, it was evident that scheduling and time was working against us. Within this, there is a new beginning. There is an abundance of new music written, some of which is already recorded. We have had the fortune of playing with some very talented singers over the last few months and will continue to do so until each of us feels and knows when the right person arrives. With love, Robert, Eric, Dean" The band recorded 4-5 new songs with Chester earlier this year in anticipation for a new album coming out this year, but they will apparently re record those with a new singer. The decision has been made for months and is likely why there was no press on the most recent STP tour.

Don't want to be the one to post it in Newswire, so I'll just leave it here: Scott Weiland Claims Chester Bennington Has Left Stone Temple Pilots http://www.alternativenation.net/scott-weiland-claims-chester-bennington-has-left-stone-temple-pilots/ Also "Joss Stone Temple Pilots" are set to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of Mash-Up Monday: http://headlineplanet.com/home/2015/11/06/joss-stone-temple-pilots-future-scheduled-to-perform-on-jimmy-kimmel-live/ EDIT: Just got a word that the rumor is true. Chester has chosen to leave STP to spend more time with his family and focus on LP. This person says that nothing bad occurred between them and that the band and Chester is still on great terms.

So Sean just told me that it was Chester and Cheez responsible for booking shows for Bucket of Weenies. And since Cheez is now the manager for Sublime With Rome and I don't think it would be a good idea to contact him. I'll try to talk with Mike Rouse though.
-
Thank you! So either the show was postponed and we need to figure out the other date or it was really cancelled and Sean is just confusing it with some other show. I tend to believe the later, but it should be added anyway.
-
I'll see what I can do. New show for the guide, I JUST found: 2007.06.23 Tempe, AZ, The Clubhouse - Club Tattoo 12th Anniversary w/ Sevendust, Buckcherry, Operator, Hed Pe, Invitro, Sex Slaves, Comfort For Change, Signs Of Betrayal and Digital Summer. Hosted by Andrew "Dice" Clay. Source: Blabbermouth Source: Mindless Self Indulgence's forums I was thinking the show was cancelled, because it's barely listed or mentioned anywhere, but I contacted Sean and he said that the show did happen and Bucket Of Weenies did perform. Say whaaat?

You know, the entire pre-Grey Daze period is a thing I really need to sink my teeth in. That quote imply that SDAHF wasn't Chester's first band, but I'm pretty sure it was. For now, I'll just leave a few quotes here. I also know a few other things, but I won't post them until I'll be able to figure out some more about it. From my conversations for Grey Daze Story: >Q: The bio you sent me says Chester has fronted several bands before Grey Daze. Is it correct? Jonathan Krause: The only band that I knew Chester fronted was Sean Dowdell And His Friends. >Q: I have the band's bio that was printed by the management for promotional use and it says that before Grey Daze, Chester "toured the country with a stage production of You Are The Child and has fronted several bands in the Phoenix area". Do you know if he really sang in any bands before Sean Dowdell And His Friends or right after that before joining Grey Daze? Sean Dowdell: No, he did not. Kerry Rose: He may have done the occasional one off with another band, but the only other band I was aware of is Sean Dowdell and his Friends, and that was before my time with the band. ************************************************** Chester on Scuzz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UTX_GgNzEY

I was unsure if we should add the show to the guide, because there was a possibility that Mace was actually talking about the Whisky A Go Go show (see Mace being wrong about the venue for Michael Schenker show), but today I had a quick conversation with Kerry Rose and asked him if Mace is correct and if the band played both Coconut Teaszer AND Whiskey A Go Go, and he said: "We played both. There were some label guys at the Teaszer show that our attorney invited. The Whiskey show was a better show. None of the label guys bit, although the feedback on Chester was very positive" So the show should be added as (probably after the Whiskey show on the list): xxxx.xx.xx West Hollywood, CA, Coconut Teaszer I'm currently trying to figure the dates as well. It probably happened in 1998, but I won't put it in the date, until I'll know for sure.
