  1. Yes, I like how he almost effortlessly sounds so strong on that video. It's also nice to have it because the audio is very clear since there's no crowd and all. Speaking of that show, the whole 3-song set was recorded and produced by Mike Clink who is known for producing all of the Guns N' Roses' albums minus "Chinese Democracy". The known "I'm Eighteen" recording is one of those songs. I know Mike Clink doesn't have it anymore and since it was so long ago and Camp Freddy are no more, it's unlikely we'll ever hear it. But, it's probably a good thing Matt Sorum didn't play during that show, otherwise there would be no chance at all, since it seems like he owned the band name. It looks like the whole point of disbanding Camp Freddy and forming Royal Machines that primarily consists of the same people was ditching Matt. I almost find that press release humorous: CAMP FREDDY, the Los Angeles-based "jam" group featuring Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney, has officially called it quits. Navarro, Morrison, Leitch and Chaney will continue playing together in a brand new "all-star covers fun-times band" called ROYAL MACHINES.... Anyway, it would be awesome to have "Whole Lotta Love" from that show, at least.
  2. I just recently stumbled upon this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1CDP4UGY6c It's Chester & Camp Freddy doing a soundcheck/rehearsal for their 2010.04.15 show. Added to the show page: http://lplive.net/shows/db/chesterbennington/20100415
  3. Thanks a lot. Added "Mountain Song" to the setlist. Not totally sure if that's "I'm A Man" though, but yes, that's Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. A clip of "Paradise City": https://websta.me/p/1300231569201530644_14601849 Chester performed it with Franky Perez. You can't see Chester on the video, but you can hear him and you also can see them both performing together on a few photos that were added to the showpage.
  4. Me, Hahninator and AndOne are still working on obtaining the setlist of this show. We've just added two songs to the setlist and a bunch of photos to the show page. Chester performed "Whole Lotta Love" and "Paradise City" and most likely a few more.
  5. From Royal Machines' Facebook: Time to clear the air: Yes- we are playing in Cleveland, Ohio on July 21 at a charity event for Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness. I believe this is the 3rd of 4th time that we have had the opportunity to be a part of raising funds for such a great facility. This is not a political event and it is not a part of the RNC. In fact, we'll probably be onstage when the nominee is speaking. Don't believe the hype.
  6. It sounds to me like he sings: Performing on the streets of Beijing Is not really my thing, but I'm doing it anyway
  7. Thank you! Also, while I'm at it, I just found another ad for the same show:
  8. Got to chat with Jodi Wendt of Waterface just recently and here's what she had to say in response to Sean's words that once Chester left the band they had never performed a show with Dave Sardegna and Jodi under the name Grey Daze. Jodi Wendt: "We did play at least 2 shows as Grey Daze before changing the name to Waterface - Big Fish Pub in Tempe, which was my first performance ever in a band, and at Jackson's on 3rd in Phoenix. We dressed up as members from KISS". She also sent me the ad I attached to this message. The show is already in the guide, but we should 1) add that new newspaper clipping to the show page; 2) list all of the October 1998 shows (four, to be exact) as "GREY DAZE Shows Featuring Jodi Wendt"; 3) move both Coconut Teaszer and Whisky show up in the list between 1998.04.26 and 1998.10.17 shows. It also means we're a missing at least one show with Jodi (the above-mentioned Big Fish Pub gig). Also, the timeline is getting clearer!
  9. Slowly adding more notes and songs to the show page.
  10. Slightly edited the showpage. It wasn't the first time that Chester performed "Ace Of Spades". Joey Castillo was the drummer for Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts, so it is very interesting to see Chester performing a STP song with him and Dave Kushner from Velvet Revolver.
  11. Not necessarily a corrections, but definitely a few things to look into: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRE_dUZ8wI4 Some guy from the comments saw the show on 2000.11.21. According to him, Hed PE didn't show up due to a bus problem. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nQ8QJkFmGU He's probably talking about Papa Roach/Hed PE show on 2000.12.02 in Joplin during Master Bay tour. Linkin Park joined the tour a few days later after that date. - In the hidden track from Hed PE's album "Only In Amerika" the singer mentions "doing crack with Linkin Park" or something to that effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTztreD3J1U @1:37-1:40 - Hilarious story from 2000.07.27 show: http://web.archive.org/web/20001207173300/http://www.linkinpark.com/guestbook2.htm - What is "Bullshit Free" and "Bullshit Free 2"? http://web.archive.org/web/20001109075600/http://www.linkinpark.com/guestbook2.htm That guestbook is filled with random interesting mentions.
  12. Added notes to both pages: http://lplive.net/shows/db/2000andearlier/20000724 http://lplive.net/shows/db/2000andearlier/20000916
  13. From that page: Be sure to check out Linkin Park as HOB.com and MTV.com present this 24-Hour Audio Cybercast recorded at the House of Blues Orlando on September 16, 2000. It is this show: http://lplive.net/shows/db/2000andearlier/20000916 I'm not too familiar with Linkin Park live recordings, but I think it's pretty obvious it's the performance AndOne is talking about on his post above. It was recorded on 2000.09.16 in Orlando, the recording was commonly mislabeled as 2000.08.16 (which happens to be a date Linkin Park also played a show on), but since the band says "Orlando" a few times during the recording, someone then mistakenly labeled it as the bands other show in Orlando on 2000.07.24. The 2000.09.16 show happened in Lake Buena Vista which is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. That means Mason Jar is now the oldest show recording we have, since there is no recording of the show in The Sapphire.
  14. http://lplive.net/shows/db/2000andearlier/20001210 The event name for this show is Laser 103.3 FM's "Not-So-Silent-Night!"
  15. Setlists/clues for setlists for 2000 shows. 2000.08.16 West Hollywood, CA, The Roxy Theatre http://web.archive.org/web/20001109020100/http://linkinpark.poptart.net/index10.htm 2000.09.16 Lake Buena Vista, FL, House of Blues http://web.archive.org/web/20010210033428/http://linkinpark.poptart.net/review17.htm 2000.09.28 Cleveland, OH, Agora Theatre and Ballroom http://web.archive.org/web/20010210032849/http://linkinpark.poptart.net/review24.htm
  16. Check out the 1995.01.18 clipping from that post: I did not initially pay any attention to the article other than just this part. I was thinking that it's just another random article that randomly mentions Kerry talking on the subject for some reason. When I sent it to Kerry he told me that he remembers going to that meeting, but I didn't ask him for further details. Now that I have a full scan from some other issue of the newspaper, I can see the article was actually talking about the Ballroom having some legal issues putting on its After Hours nights. So Kerry's presence actually makes sense given the fact that, as far as we know, the band had started playing After Hours in two weeks. Very interesting that it was actually a City Council meeting and Kerry had to take part to defend interests of Grey Daze. In the end, members of City Council gave the Ballroom's owner a three months permit to held such shows. It also means the band never played such shows before that time, so it helps to understand the timeline as well. I'd like the scan to be added to every After Hours night page.
  17. This show seem to fit the right part of the Sin City tour: 2005.10.26 Memphis, TN, New Daisy Theater Super Diamond (Neil Diamond cover band), Spoon, Steve Byrne, other acts. http://observatorium.blogspot.com/2005/10/sequined-camel-toes.html http://spoontheband.yuku.com/topic/362/Fall-Tour#.VyBB5NSLS9I http://web.archive.org/web/20060111204612/http://memphis.citysceneblog.com/2005/10/camel_marketing_creepy_and_spo.html No surprise we are having hard time looking for these dates.
  18. http://temple-news.com/phillys-blue-monday/ ^ Setlist for 2001.10.22 Philadelphia, PA , First Union Center I remember sending Mark various tentative and changed itineraries for the entire Family Values tour and him adding a ton of postponed/cancelled shows to the guide based on them. Where is it all now?

  20. More new shows: 1997.02.01 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (Chronic Future, Grey Daze, Still, Lemon Krayola, Dislocated Styles, Zack Phillips Band, Honey Bucket, Necessary Enemy) + 1997.02.02 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (Just Because, Grey Daze, Tolerance, Outernet, Jimmy Rig, Frail) http://web.archive.org/web/19970727123216/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1997/013097/mrock.html 1997.12.31 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (Jesus Chrysler Supercar, Yoko Love, Grey Daze) http://web.archive.org/web/19980114045948/http://phoenixnewtimes.com/1997/122597/music/rock.html 1998.02.20 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (Grey Daze, Bionic Jive, Mr. Pink, Secular End) http://web.archive.org/web/19991117195326/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/archives/1998/021998/music/rock.html That's all with that site. Summing up all the recent updates, these shows in question from the first post are now solved:

  23. Thank you! Also, more shows for the guide, lol 1996.04.20 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (Zig Zag Black, Grey Daze, Witz End, Rebel Soul) http://web.archive.org/web/19991010111503/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/041896/mrock.html ^ Notice the band played the Earth Day festival on the same day at noon. Electric Ballroom usually held evening shows, so this info is not contradictive and, I believe, the band played two different shows on the same day. 1996.04.29 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (Grey Daze, Ethel, Jones Fracture, Rosemary Silence) http://web.archive.org/web/19990822152714/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/042596/mrock.html 1996.07.13 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (Ho-hum, Felony Blues, Grey Daze, Futile, Fine China) http://web.archive.org/web/19991116070733/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/071196/mrock.html 1996.11.16 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (Oil, Grey Daze, Necessary Enemy, Crash Wagon, Crooked Alibi, Flutter Kill, Binge) http://web.archive.org/web/19990504111116/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/111496/mrock.html 1996.11.27 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (Super8, Grey Daze, Einsteins) http://web.archive.org/web/19990422015718/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/112196/mrock.html 1996.12.06 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (Still, Grey Daze) http://web.archive.org/web/20000122144645/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/120596/mrock.html 1996.12.13 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (VooDoo Scream, Grey Daze, Necessary Enemy, Aces & Eights) http://web.archive.org/web/19991008032507/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/121296/mrock.html 1996.12.28 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (Perpetual, Grey Daze, Claymores, Wicked Season) http://web.archive.org/web/19990828052138/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/122696/mrock.html 1997.02.12 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (Type O Negative, Sister Machine Gun, Drain, Cellophane, Grey Daze) http://web.archive.org/web/20000128224303/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/020697/mrock.html 1997.02.22 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (Grey Daze, Necessary Enemy, Freud's Mom, Firesky) http://web.archive.org/web/19991005020518/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/022097/mrock.html Also, we falsely listed this show as 1997 show. Should be 1996.12.27 http://web.archive.org/web/19990828052138/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/122696/mrock.html
  24. Thanks a lot. Just messaged Keith Holler. So I was browsing through that list of bands on Yahoo and found out that the band Necessary Enemy were using the same website and the exact same description ("A fresh and new alternative rock band that is taking Phoenix, Arizona by storm. Their following of dedicated fans are growing enormous as they gradually outgrow the clubs on the Phoenix circuit"), but their link was: http://alice-bbs.com/ne/ There were at least two shows that Grey Daze and Necessary Enemy performed together. One is already in the guide and another one is in the first post of this topic. The website thing got me a little suspicious, so I contacted Necessary Enemy's guitarist Bill Forrest to ask him if the two bands are as connected to each other as it seems to me. Bill: Necessary Enemy and Grey Daze has a lot of connections. The drummer for Grey Daze was Sean Dowdell (who later founded Club Tattoo), my bass player was his uncle Bruce Dowdell, and the rhythm player was Josh Dowdell (Bruce's son), along with our drummer Terry Hoffman (Bruce's nephew and Sean's cousin and known as Wookie is currently a well respected tattoo artist in Club Tattoo). We also shared a rehearsal studio in south Phoenix since we practiced on different days. We did multiple shows with Grey Daze including one mainstage show at the Electric Ballroom, but they were definitely the bigger band playing the bigger venues while we stuck mostly in smaller Mason Jar style venues. Lack of a better way to describe us, I got many people asking if it was us on the radio when Matchbox Twenty first hit, so that should give you an idea. We would randomly even do one GD tune as a cover on occasion. I do remember one night we had a studio party together and at the end Chester and I basically carried each other to my bass players van so we could get home after countless drinks. Chester and Sean had been together since high school in a band called "Sean Dowdell And His Friends?" And always had a strong punk calling, when Chester took a short break from LP I got to see him and Sean in their own band "Bucket of Weenies" play and really let their punk shine. EDIT: Also, new shows that are not in the guide: 1997.06.06 Tempe, AZ, Electric Ballroom (with Failure, Poster Children and Jesus Chrysler Supercar) http://web.archive.org/web/19991009004346/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/060597/music/rock.html ^ That one was in the guide, actually 1997.09.06 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (with Love Not Human and Thinkadectomy) http://web.archive.org/web/19991001235743/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/090497/music/rock.html 1997.10.03 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (with Zig Zag Black, John and Bldg.5) http://web.archive.org/web/20000118194235/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1997/100297/music/rock.html ^ Notice the page also lists Grey Daze opening for BOTH Faith No More and Limp Bizkit in Electric Ballroom. It looks like the show was then moved to Celebrity Theater and Grey Daze were dropped from the bill. 1997.11.07 Phoenix, AZ, Mason Jar (with Oil, Necessary Enemy, Hubcap, We Drink Rain and Underlye) http://web.archive.org/web/20000122034923/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/110697/music/rock.html 1997.12.12 Tempe, AZ, Mill Avenue Sport Rock Cafe (with Eric Hates Everything) http://web.archive.org/web/20000117033425/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/121197/music/rock.html 1997.11.15 Tempe, AZ, Big Fish Pub (with M.I.R.V., Fred Green and Gemini Lounge) http://web.archive.org/web/19991012011045/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/111397/music/rock.html 1998.01.17 Tempe, AZ, Mill Avenue Sport Rock Cafe (with Jan Zero, Rub Cleo and Blue Healer) http://web.archive.org/web/19991009091039/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1998/011598/music/rock.html 1998.03.20 Tempe, AZ, Mill Avenue Sport Rock Cafe (with Hollow and Jan Zero) http://web.archive.org/web/19990827230336/http://phoenixnewtimes.com/1998/031998/music/rock.html 1998.10.23 Tempe, AZ, Mill Avenue Sport Rock Cafe (with The Robies, GPT Restraint and Sidetracked) http://web.archive.org/web/19990826133235/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1998/102298/music/rock.html Also, confirmations for known shows + additional bands to list on the pages: http://web.archive.org/web/19991125104451/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/072497/music/rock.html http://web.archive.org/web/19991001204414/http://phoenixnewtimes.com/1998/031298/music/rock.html http://web.archive.org/web/19991003042037/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/101697/music/rock.html http://web.archive.org/web/20000126132354/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1996/121897/music/rock.html http://web.archive.org/web/19991011191658/http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1998/101598/music/rock.html
