  1. I didn't know a paragraph counted as a large update.
  2. The Carnivores Tour wraps up its short Texan excursion in Dallas! Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI are headed to the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, Texas. Linkin Park is no stranger to Dallas, as they've performed there plenty of times in the past: THREE times in 2000 (1, 2, 3), twice in 2001 (1, 2), 2003, twice in 2004 (1, 2), 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2012 - a HUGE TWELVE times! Who's ready for a history lesson?! We have a lot to cover today, get ready! At the first show in 2000, which is the earliest time the band has returned to a city on this tour, the band performed as a part of Union Underground's 'An Education In Rebellion' Tour, all the way back that August. At the second show of that year in Dallas, the band was performing on Kottonmouth Kings' 'Riding High' Tour, one of Linkin Park's longest tours (33 shows!). The last show in 2000 was part of P.O.D.'s 'King Of The Game' Tour, where they performed with the likes of P.O.D., (hed)p.e, and Project 86. The first show in 2001 saw them performed on the Ozzfest, a very famous time in the band's early history. They performed alongside Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, and Slipknot - a heaven for nu-metal fans! The second show in 2001 had them performing on the Family Values Tour, where they played with Staind, Static-X, and Stone Temple Pilots, which recently took in Chester as their lead singer! During STP's set, Chester came out onstage to sing 'Dead & Bloated' with them. STP were always one of Chester's favorite bands. He went from being a guest during their set to being their lead singer in 2013! Anyway, when the band returned in 2003, the band performed new Meteora songs like 'Session', 'From The Inside', 'Hit The Floor', and 'Easier To Run'. During 'One Step Closer', Christian Lindskog from the band Blindside came out to perform with the band! The first show in 2004 featured one of Linkin Park's best sets: opening with 'With You', now-rarer songs like 'Nobody's Listening', 'It's Goin' Down', and 'From The Inside', as well as a GREAT encore consisting of 'My December', 'P5hng Me A*wy' from Reanimation, 'A Place For My Head', and 'One Step Closer'. Wow! The second show was part of the famous 2004 Projekt Revolution, where they performed with Korn, Snoop Dogg, The Used, and Less Than Jake. They band performed a cover of Nine Inch Nails' 'Wish', as well as bringing out a few guests on the tour; Ivan the Urban Action Figure during the 'It's Goin' Down' portion of the Hip-Hop Medley and Jonathan Davis during the Reanimated Bridge of 'One Step Closer'. Projekt Revolution 2007 was the band's next performance there, alongside My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Placebo, and Julien-K. Notable occurrences at the show include Mike rapping his verse from 'Respect 4 Grandma' during the extended intro of 'Points Of Authority', and an awesome encore of 'Cure For The Itch' (MTM Version), 'QWERTY', 'Bleed It Out', and 'Faint'. Dallas has had some great endings of the show! Will the trend continue tonight? 2008, the second to last show of the 2008 Touring Cycle, had some cool things happen: Mike rapping 'In Stereo' and 'There They Go' over the extensions of 'Points Of Authority', Chris Cornell coming out to sing during 'Crawling', and the band playing a double-encore set! The band performed a rescheduled show in Dallas in 2011, after having to cancel a performance there a few weeks prior do to Chester becoming ill. Mike performed an keyboard transition from 'What I've Done' into 'No More Sorrow', and the band performed 'A Place For My Head' over the extended bridge of 'Bleed It Out', as well as Rob performing a drum solo. Finally, at the most recent performance there in 2012, where Chester's mohawk returned! The band incorporated the new Living Things song, 'In My Remains' into the set as well as changing up the order to the set yet again. That was most likely the longest history lesson yet. Just wait until California... Yesterday, the band performed at Woodlands, TX for the first show since the break. The 11th LPU Summit was held there, and the band performed 'Final Masquerade' acoustic again, as well as broadcasting their Q&A via VyRT. They performed Set B, which contains 'With You', 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You', and 'Somewhere I Belong'. Mike rapped a verse from 'When They Come For Me' over his medley. The band has plenty of songs they can randomly perform on the tour - including 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself' and 'No More Sorrow', the leaders on our 2014 Live Poll. Other songs the band rehearsed but didn't play on the tour include 'A Light That Never Comes' (the full version), 'Breaking The Habit', 'When They Come For Me', and the other rare Hybrid Theory songs. Watch Chester and Brad perform 'Final Masquerade' acoustic at yesterday's summit in Dallas! This differs from the last performance of it, because Mike randomly disappeared and it lacks the bridge where Brad would play the chords instead of his solo. The next summit has been announced to be in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on November 7, 2014. Will the band perform an acoustic song there, or do a rehearsal? What do you think? The other bands on the Carnivores Tour are still jamming! AFI performed their regular setlist consisting of hits like 'I Hope You Suffer', 'The Leaving Song, Pt. II', and 'Miss Murder', as well as some older tracks like 'Medicate' and 'The Days Of The Phoenix'. AFI hasn't changed their setlist since the two Florida shows at the beginning of the tour, where they played 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves' for the only times on the Carnivores Tour. Do you think they'll be back in the set before the tour wraps up? Thirty Seconds To Mars also performed the same structured set that they've been playing, which includes an old-school opened of Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new song, 'Up In The Air'. The band performed their hits like 'Do Or Die' and 'This Is War', as well as some other new songs like 'Conquistador' and 'End Of All Days'. Jared performed his acoustic set from the middle of the crowd, taking requests and performing MARS's biggest song, 'The Kill (Bury Me)'. Before the acoustic set, Jared did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, challenging the entire audience to do it! The band concluded the show with an instrumental jam of Pantera's 'Cowboys From Hell' and Jared inviting fans from the crowd up on stage for 'Closer To The Edge'. During 'Kings and Queens', Jared went way back into the crowd to say hello to those who aren't all the way up in front! If you live in a location that isn't being visited by the Carnivores Tour, don't fret! Jared Leto's social ticketing company, VyRT, will be broadcasting Linkin Park's and Thirty Seconds To Mars' sets from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15! You can purchase a ticket for both sets for as low as $15, as well as buying a variety of packages for exclusive Thirty Seconds To Mars-related events, including a backstage tour, a post-show chat, and even an acoustic set! Jared has frequently been appearing on VyRT for a lo-fi webcast they call VyRT Violet and playing short acoustic sets. At the show in Tinley Park, IL, they attempted to VyRT them heading onstage to play their show, but the Internet did not cooperate. Recently, on the 4th, Jared performed a special acoustic set just for those who have purchased a ticket already, which included a few acoustic songs and a sneak-peek of their upcoming live film, "Into The Wild". Will you join us on the 15th to experience the show through VyRT? Who's heading to the show? The band will likely perform Set A, since they performed Set B yesterday in Woodlands. Stop by the Music For Relief booth to donate to helping put an end to the ebola epidemic taking place in Africa. For updates on the show, check back here on LPLive and follow us on Twitter! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2014 touring schedule here. Show Page Notes Date: September 6, 2014 Location: Dallas, Texas Venue: Gexa Energy Pavilion Tour: Carnivores Tour Show #17 of 25 01. After the 'hybrid' verse of 'Remember The Name', he went into the chorus again. - Mike rapped the first verse of 'With You' over the extended intro of 'Until It's Gone'. - During the bridge of 'Bleed It Out', Rob performed a drum solo before the band sang a refrain from 'The Catalyst'.
  3. Final Masquerade acoustic at the summit again.
  4. Great episode! Killer beat.
  5. Still waiting for War ft. Poncho Sanchez
  6. After a well-warranted break for the week, the Carnivores Tour is back in business! Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI are hitting the road again for the second half of the Carnivores Tour, starting at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas. The band will be hosting the 11th annual LPU Summit at this show, the 10th being fairly recently in Darien Center, NY. The band has been playing in Woodlands for awhile now, playing there 4 times in the past: 2001, 2007, 2008, and 2012, all at the same venue. Get out your pens and pencils, ladies and gentlemen. It's time for another history lesson in the world of Linkin Park! In 2001, the band performed as part of Buzzfest VI, at which they performed among the likes of Orgy, The Offspring, and Eve 6. 6 years later, in 2007, the band returned with My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday for Projekt Revolution. That show was the only one that sold out on the entire tour! Awesome! Other memorable moments include Chester bringing out his son, Tyler, out onstage during 'Wake' (it was Tyler's second concert - the first being the Bamboozle earlier that year) and Mike rapping his verse from 'Dolla' over the extended intro of 'Points Of Authority'. The show in 2008 saw the end of the band's 2008 touring cycle (an Asian Tour was planned for later in the year, but that ended up being cancelled), and the last show of a major Projekt Revolution tour (while there were instances of Projekt Revolution in 2011, there was no big tour for it). Chris Cornell came out to sing on 'Crawling' for one last time, before the end of the tour. This show featured the last performances of 'In Pieces' and 'Don't Stay' to date. Would you like to see those songs come back in the future? We'll get to that later - time to wrap up our lesson. At their most recent performance in Woodlands, in 2012, the band revised Set B (which opened up with 'A Place For my Head', as well as closing with a GREAT encore!) by replacing 'Empty Spaces' and 'When They Come For Me' with a then new song off of Living Things, 'In My Remains', as well as changing up the placement of a few songs. The music video for 'Lost In The Echo' was released that day, so Mike told the fans at the show to check it out on their website before they performed the song live. Hopefully the band's cool history in Woodlands will continue at this show! Since it's been a week since the last Carnivores show, let's recap - the last show was on August 30, in Clarkston, Michigan. The band performed Set A, which differs from Set B by including 'Points Of Authority' and 'Crawling'. Highlights from the show include Mike rapping the hybrid verse of 'Remember The Name' over his medley and the band having a sing-a-long of the refrain from 'The Catalyst' during the extended bridge of 'Bleed It Out'. Mike's medley has a lot of room for some experimentation with different verses - we think 'High Voltage' and 'Dedicated' would work well! Take the poll for what songs you'd like to see Mike rap over his medley here. Additionally, take our 2014 Live Poll, for songs you'd like to see return at some point during The Hunting Party Tour! Currently, 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself', and 'When They Come For Me' are in the lead. Lastly, the band will be hosting the 11th LPU Summit before the show. For those unfamiliar with summits, the band occasionally hosts a huge event before a show for their fanclub, the LP Underground. At these events, fans can participate in a Q&A, some community events (i.e. cleaning up the local park, planting trees, etc.), and even watch the band perform acoustically or do a soundcheck. Previously, the summit has been held in London, Homebush, Chicago, Hamburg, Chiba, Camden, Cape Town, Auckland, Chep Lap Kok, and Darien Center. The band has performed 'The Messenger', 'Leave Out All The Rest', 'The Little Things Give You Away', 'Rolling In The Deep' by Adele, 'In My Remains', and 'Final Masquerade' acoustically, as well as soundchecking songs like 'Victimized (w/ QWERTY)', 'Papercut', 'Castle Of Glass', and 'The Catalyst' with a cool outro jam at past summits. What do you predict the band will do at this summit? Perform another acoustic set? Perform a soundcheck, possibly to rehearse a new song or two? Or even both? We'll have you covered on what the band ends up doing! Check out this performance of 'Final Masquerade' acoustic from the past summit in Darien Center, featuring Chester, Mike, and Brad. They perform great acoustically! What songs would YOU like to see played acoustic? What have the other bands on the Carnivores Tour been up to? Nothing much, really - they've been relaxing just like Linkin Park! Jared Leto has been attending business-related events in Los Angeles, as well as appearing on VyRT a few times - we'll discuss that later, though. At the show in Clarkston, AFI performed their average set consisting of singles like 'I Hope You Suffer' and 'Miss Murder', as well as older songs like 'The Days Of The Phoenix' and 'The Leaving Song, Pt. II'. The band hasn't really varied their setlist since the beginning of the tour, when they performed two songs they subsequently dropped from following setlists: 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves'. Do you think AFI has prepared anything for the second half of the tour? We'll see! Thirty Seconds To Mars also performed their regular setlist, opening with the old-school opener of Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new single, 'Up In The Air'. Their set has their new singles like 'Do Or Die' and 'City Of Angels', as well as other new songs like 'Conquistador' and 'End Of All Days'. The band also performed older songs from This Is War: 'This Is War' and 'Search and Destroy', just to name a few. During Jared's acoustic set, he performed an unreleased song called 'Save Me' (not 'Savior', as some fans may remember from A Beautiful Lie) and a snippet of their old single, 'From Yesterday'. Jared ended his acoustic set by performing their biggest hit, 'The Kill (Bury Me)'. They closed their show with an instrumental jam of Pantera's 'Cowboys From Hell' and inviting fans up on stage for 'Closer To The Edge'. Awesome! Other cool aspects of their show include a ton of confetti and giant balloons flying everywhere. Jared even comes back into the farther back sections of the venue during 'Kings and Queens'! This was a special show for the band's guitarist, Tomo, as Detroit was his hometown when he moved from Croatia to the United States. If you live in a location that prevents you from experiencing the Carnivores Tour, you're in luck. Jared Leto's social ticketing company, VyRT, will be broadcasting Linkin Park's and Thirty Seconds To Mars' sets from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15 - less than two weeks away! Will you join us on the 15th to experience the show through VyRT? Who will be heading to the show? The summit? We know a lot of LPU members will be at the show! We're not exactly sure what set the band will be performing, since the tour was on break for a week. If you're going, stop by the Music For Relief booth and donate to the cause of stopping the current ebola epidemic currently taking place in Africa. We'll keep you updated on what occurs at the summit as well as the show both here on LPLive and on our Twitter! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2014 touring schedule here. Other Notes: - The 11th annual LPU Summit was held before the show. The band broadcasted their Q&A session on VyRT. - This is the only time the band has performed a song other than 'The Messenger' acoustic for a second time, that song being 'Final Masquerade'.
  7. So what you're saying is.... The Hunting Party is HOLDING UP THE NEXT ALBUM?!
  8. I was thinking he could do more than one verse? kinda like a mashup of sorts, with two different verses from two songs.
  9. Just because he's my idol doesn't mean I can't criticize him
  10. Awesome review, glad to see you somewhat enjoyed MARS's set haha. I also think his crown bullshit needs to stop, I don't really see any point of it rather than screaming "I AM A ROCK GOD!" (which, he really isn't.) He calls it his 'battlegear', and he doesn't really take it off until This Is War or Conquistador, which is pretty weird. Their setlists suck, lol. They really do need to add more of the older songs in. They played a lot of older songs at their soundchecks in Europe, and they even played A Beautiful Lie once in France. They really do have a lot to improve but I do love their shows in the end.
  11. Damn, this is an amazing recording.
  12. Awesome, the recordings are finally coming in! Wonder what else we'll get
  13. lol, Mike's Solo Medley is 90 BPM during the W&K verse and 95 during the part he can change up... to put that in perspective: Remember The Name: 85 BPM SKIN TO BONE Remix: 90 BPM (I think) When They Come For Me: 92 BPM Hands Held High: 104 BPM High Voltage: 94 BPM I think someone just forgot his verse I'll vote for High Voltage, Spraypaint, Nobody's, TTG, and In Stereo.
  14. The only difference on A_V5 is the note for Wastelands: IAVA Shoutout
  15. Inspired by the idea that abrandnewname had, we'll be doing a weekly live compilation based off a certain criteria, like by albums or covers. By the end of the week, we'll decide which performances are the best (either by vote or by amount of times that specific performance has been listed) Here are the rules: Follow the guidelines: If we're doing Meteora Week, don't suggest songs like 'Pictureboard' or 'Rebellion'. Have some regard for quality: Any recording from any show we have a source for is welcome, though try not to list absolutely terrible quality recordings (i.e. Newtown 2004, Sao Paulo 2004 Cellphone Recording) No download links to official material: It's encouraged to list DSPs or Live DVD performances, but don't supply a link as to where you can get those. You can do so with other recordings, but make a request in the Live Downloads section, not here. You can suggest a single performance, multiple performances, or even an entire album of performances if you want. Just follow the guidelines! This week's compilation: Hybrid Theory!
  16. I'm well aware of that. We have 0 information about the Clarkston show and I wanted to both put a) something relevant to Clarkston (since Jon Davis came out onstage in Clarkston 04 too) and something where I could talk about a collaboration.
  17. The Carnivores Tour has one more stop in the month of August! Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and AFI will be headed to Clarkston, Michigan to play a show at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. Linkin Park has performed in Clarkston before - twice in 2001 (1, 2), 2004, and 2007. At both 2001 shows, the band performed as part of the Ozzfest, where they played alongside Black Sabbath, Slipknot, and Papa Roach. In 2004, Ivan the Urban Action Figure came out to dance during 'It's Goin' Down', and Jonathan Davis came out to sing his part during the extended bridge of 'One Step Closer' which featured '1stp Klosr' from Reanimation. Most recently (but still quite some time ago) in 2007, Chester dedicated 'Leave Out All The Rest' to the U.S. soldiers who were at the show, which is similar to what the band does before 'Wastelands' for the IAVA, as a response to their new partnership. Will the band add something special to the history of their time in Clarkston at the Carnivores Tour performance? Yesterday, the band performed in Tinley Park, Illinois as part of 101WKQX's annual PIQNIQ event. On top of performing with the regular Carnivores Tour performers, they also performed alongside Local H, Wild Cub, Sleeper Agent, and Junior Prom. Other cool occurrences at the show include Mike rapping the first verse of 'When They Come For Me' over his medley, Mike rapping the verse from 'Points Of Authority' over the extended intro of 'Until It's Gone', and the band performing the new 2014 version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' and the studio version of 'Somewhere I Belong'. The band performed a standard run through of Set B, so Clarkston can expect to see Set A (or a phantom Set C? Let's see that #MakeaSetC love!). While the band's setlists have stayed relatively the same throughout the tour (with the exception of Mike's Solo Medley varying from show to show), the band has a bunch of songs that they've rehearsed for the tour that didn't make the cut! Some of those songs include 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself', and 'When They Come For Me', all of which are the top songs on our 2014 Live Poll, where you can vote for the songs that you want to see on the Carnivores Tour! If you're curious to see what other songs the band has rehearsed but not played throughout their career, check out this thread. Check out this video of 'One Step Closer' live from Tweeter Center at the Waterfront (now the Susquehanna Bank Center) in Camden in 2004, where Jonathan Davis came out to sing during the extended bridge. We haven't seen any collaborations occur onstage during the Carnivores Tours yet... Funny enough, exactly two years ago in Colorado, on the Honda Civic Tour, Mike Einziger of Incubus came out for the first time on tour to jam with the band during 'Bleed It Out'. Do you think we'll see any collaborations happen? AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars are continuing to do an outstanding on on the tour! In Tinley Park, AFI performed their standard set, consisting of hits like 'I Hope You Suffer' and 'Miss Murder', as well as older songs including 'The Days Of The Phoenix' and 'Medicate'. AFI's set has stayed consistent throughout the tour, barring the first two shows back in Florida. At those shows, they performed two songs that were dropped from all following setlists: 'A Single Second' and 'Beautiful Thieves'. Will we see those two songs, or possibly any others return on the tour? Thirty Seconds To Mars also performed their usual set, opening with a song that many old-school fans will remember, Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana: O Fortuna' and their new single, 'Up In The Air'. Their set also includes singles like 'This Is War' and 'Do Or Die', as well as some non-single songs like 'Search and Destroy' and 'End Of All Days'. During Jared's acoustic set, he took a few requests, as well as played the band's biggest single, 'The Kill (Bury Me)'. You can expect huge production from their set, including a ton of confetti and giant balloons flying everywhere. If you're located farther back in the venue and afraid you won't get a good view of the show, Jared Leto's got your back. During 'Kings and Queens', he'll journey all the way out to the back sections of the venue to sing and say hello! If you're in the pit, go crazy, because if Jared notices you, he'll bring you onstage for the last song, 'Closer To The Edge'! The other bands that performed as part of the 101QKWX PIQNIQ also did a great job: Local H performed an energetic set, featuring songs like 'High-Fiving MF' and 'Bound For The Floor'. Wild Cub also got the crowd moving by playing songs like 'Thunder Clatter' and 'Colour'. Sleeper Agent also got the crowds moving with songs like 'Get It Daddy' and 'By My Monster'. Junior Prom introduced the energy to the show by performing their song 'Sheila Put The Knife Down' and a few others. Do you live somewhere that's not North America, or didn't get a chance to catch a show, but really want to experience the Carnivores Tour? You're in luck! Jared Leto's online ticketing service, VyRT, will be streaming Linkin Park's and Thirty Seconds To Mars' sets at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on September 15. VyRT delivers an amazing quality performance, and lets the bands interact with the fans online directly from the stage! You can buy a ticket to view both sets for as low as $15. Buy your ticket soon, as Jared has been periodically popping up on VyRT, and performing short acoustic sets. In fact, he did one from backstage at the venue in Tinley Park! They were also planning to take the fans in the VyRT Chat onstage with them by streaming it, but the internet at the venue was very weak. This only means that they will likely try again, though! An admin of the site, Yasir, also said that there will be some exclusive VyRT Violets (lo-fi streams on VyRT) for those who have purchased a ticket. So if you're interested in seeing what goes on backstage at the venues, or are a fan of Thirty Seconds To Mars in general and would like to see a few acoustic songs from time to time, definitely check it out! You never know who could show up - maybe Mike or Chester could make a cameo! Who will be heading to the show? Stop by the Music For Relief booth to donate to the cause of stopping the ebola outbreak in Africa, which isn't just affecting humans anymore. A very worthy cause. After this show, the Carnivores Tour will be on a week's break until the 5th. Linkin Park and AFI will both be taking advantage of the break, while Thirty Seconds To Mars has a show to play in Costa Rica. Who knows what will happen during the break - members of each band could spend some time with their families, plan some more surprises for the rest of the tour (Remember, #MakeaSetC!), or even accompany MARS to Costa Rica for some beautiful beaches and a great show! It would definitely be a good opportunity to try out a collaboration or two during MARS's set. For updates on the show, check back here on the site or follow us on Twitter!
