But the first COG Remix and the COG Remix played under Kenji are different, and the second remix is more suited around Kenji. -

They should add APFMH just for that collab. -
LPA's been growing on me for awhile, admittedly. I've been hanging out there semi-regularly (typically in the shoutbox). They have a strong remix community and, as Astat said, extended discussion on outside-LP topics. If you're in for more casual LP discussion, that's the forum for you. My main complaint with them is they're too careful. If you read some of their stuff, no matter what the scenario they're always FOR the band. Here, we can express our opinions freely, so they're not skewered towards the band. Hence the constant bashing of setlists LPA's a good place, but LPL is better for the hardcore LP fan.

Were two posts on this necessary? -
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the time has finally come. That's fucking right, Fort Minor is back, baby! Performing their first full show since 2006's Summer Sonic Chiba show, Fort Minor will be performing the first one-man show (featuring none other than Mike Shinoda) at The Exchange in Los Angeles, California on June 29, 2015. Who'd of thought I'd be here, right now, typing up a pre-show post about Fort Minor in 2015? Let's get right into it. For those asking, "What the hell man, this is a Linkin Park website. Who cares about whoever Fart Major (or whatever their name is) is doing?" Well, you sass-filled fan, let me fill you in: Fort Minor is Linkin Park emcee Mike Shinoda's side project, based around hip-hop. Back in 2005, they released their album The Rising Tied with Styles Of Beyond to huge success, featuring singles including the massively popular 'Where'd You Go' and 'Remember The Name'. A bunch of other treasures were released within that album, including the recollection of 'Kenji' and the huge jams of 'In Stereo' and 'There They Go'. The band then toured selectively across North America, Europe, and Asia in support of it, concluding the era in summer of 2006. The group also released a mixtape entitled 'We Major', featuring some fan favorites like 'Spraypaint & Inkpens' and '100 Degrees'. Now that you know what's up, here's some knowledge. Since Fort Minor hasn't really performed a *full* show in the past nine years (but who's counting, right?), let's talk about what they have done when they were doing their thing. A good half of their discography has been performed live (as documented in our Live Debuts thread), yet a number of tracks haven't seen the light of day yet. From The Rising Tied, 'Back Home', 'Kenji', and 'Slip Out The Back' are only a few of the tracks not performed. We Major has even more songs that have never made the limelight, including '100 Degrees', 'Spraypaint & Inkpens,' 'Be Somebody', and more. Granted, a number of them have been performed over extended intros and outros for 'Points Of Authority' throughout 2007, 2008, and 2009: namely 'Bloc Party' and 'Respect 4 Grandma'. 'Cigarettes', another track off of The Rising Tied, has barely been performed, only as the first verse a cappella starting in Taipei 2006. That's not to say Fort Minor hasn't brought out any goodies during their shows. 'Enth E Nd', the remix of 'In The End' from Reanimation saw some love during Fort Minor shows - the only times the song was ever performed! 'Numb/Encore' from Collision Course also got performed, as well as 'Mr. Brown' by Styles Of Beyond. Even 'It's Goin' Down', a song the featured Linkin Park by the X-Ecutioners in 2001, was performed! And, if Mike isn't overhyping us, this show is expected to pack some awesome surprises too! It's not a true foreshadowing for what's to come at this show, but let's take a second to remember the band's most recent show - Summer Sonic 2006, in Chiba, Japan. While we don't know the full setlist, we know a little about it. Fort Minor performed songs like 'It's Goin' Down', 'Enth E Nd', and 'Believe Me'. Opening with 'Remember The Name' featuring a long intro, you can tell the show is going to be huge. Holly Brook (now Skylar Grey) could not make the trip to Japan last minute, leaving no one to guest on 'Where'd You Go'... just kidding. Mike actually pulled double-duty at the Summer Sonic shows - after Fort Minor performed, Linkin Park hit up the mainstage! So, in place of Holly Brook, Chester came out to sing 'Where'd You Go', even changing the lyric 'I miss you so' to 'I just don't know'! While we're at it, let's talk about a little Linkin Park! Summer Sonic 2006 had a bunch of surprises littered in the setlists. The band used the shows as an escape from the studio, since they were in the middle of recording their then-new album, Minutes To Midnight. While no MTM songs were performed, we did get some rarities. The live debuts of the piano versions of 'My December' and 'Pushing Me Away' made their debuts. 'Reading My Eyes', an old Xero song dating back before the days where the band were called Hybrid Theory, was brought back out from the ashes! A brand new song, 'QWERTY', was also debuted, bringing the heavy in the equation! These shows were also the first to not feature 'One Step Closer' as the closing song - instead, it closed the main set. 'Breaking The Habit' took the honor of closing the show, instead. Summer Sonic was one hell of a time to be a Linkin Park fan (and, to a lesser extent, Mike Shinoda)! Flash forward to the present: 2015. Fort Minor is back! In case you've missed the big comeback, here's what you need to get caught up on: the new single, 'Welcome', complete with its 360-video, Mike's solo performance of the song on Conan, and it's inclusion on the latest Linkin Park setlists. 'Welcome' is the first new Fort Minor material we've received since The Rising Tied - almost a decade! The reason for that being that Fort Minor found its way into the world of Linkin Park, as evidenced by tracks like 'Waiting For The End', 'Hands Held High', and 'Until It Breaks'. His solo performance on Conan (his first ever solo performance!) went off perfectly - totally confident and well rehearsed! Great job again, Mike! On their short Mexico excursion, 'Welcome' and a new, shortened version of 'Remember The Name' found their way into the setlists. While those two aren't much of a surprise, we can expect to see them performed at this show. As for bigger surprises, we may be in store for some. In a recent interview with Billboard, Mike revealed that he's looking forward to play songs like 'Petrified', 'In Stereo', and, more surprisingly, 'Kenji' and 'Cigarettes'! A direct quote from the man himself: "There are songs I want to play because I feel they're really fun sonically or lyrically, like "Petrified" or "In Stereo." On the other hand, when I toured with Fort Minor 10 years ago, I never really played "Cigarettes" or "Kenji" that often, and this time those were the two songs I was most excited to play because I feel like they say the most." Mike's also said he'll definitely flip things up by playing some remixes! In a Spotify playlist, Mike had some songs listed... could this be the setlist? Definitely some weird ones in there... 'The Last Line' and 'Devil's Drop' from the MALL Soundtrack, Linkin Park tracks like 'Hands Held High', 'When They Come For Me', and 'Until It Breaks', remixes from Reanimation and Recharged like 'H! Vltg3' and the 'I'll Be Gone' Vice Remix are just a few. If this IS the setlist, what are you most looking forward to hearing? What about the future of Fort Minor? What happens next? Well, we can't say anything for certain. Mike has claimed that there isn't anymore Fort Minor music or an album planned (at the moment), but the door is definitely still open for more music - at least, it won't be another decade for more Fort Minor music. On the touring spectrum, Mike has said he'll definitely be playing a few shows - it will take him awhile to adjust to and getting used to performing solo, as he said. Rumors are already circulating: will Fort Minor be heading to Europe in August or September, amidst the Linkin Park tour there. What do you think? Is more Fort Minor music on the horizon? After the whole misunderstanding between Mike and Ryu, it seems the two have come to terms on Fort Minor - will Ryu's mystery verse appear on an upcoming remix of 'Welcome'? Will Fort Minor only play a few select shows in promotion of 'Welcome', or is a full-fledged tour on the horizon? Only time will tell! Who's excited?! I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Fort Minor is back! Hopefully we'll see a lot more activity and a bunch more tour dates soon. The setlist will definitely be a lot of fun to cover! After this show, Mike flies to Milwaukee to perform with Linkin Park at the Summerfest with A Day To Remember the day after this show to wrap up their North American Summer Tour. In July, Linkin Park will be embarking on a tour in China before heading to Europe in August and September. The band wraps up The Hunting Party Tour in November, with one final show in Tempe, Arizona at the Monster Mash Festival. 2015.06.27 - Mack, CO - Loudwire Music Festival
RogueSoul posted a topic in Previous Show Discussion
For the first time ever, both Dylan and Mark co-wrote the preshow post together in Google Docs… here we go! Linkin Park will headline the first ever Loudwire Music Festival on June 27th. The festival is held in Mack, Colorado at the Jam Ranch. 2015 headliners include Weezer, Linkin Park, and Rob Zombie, so Linkin Park plays on day two. The lineup for this show is arguably one of the best the band has had all summer, with A Day To Remember (also opening the next show in Milwaukee), Chevelle, and Nothing More opening the show. This is show number four of five in the month of June, as Linkin Park’s summer shows wind to an end in North America. Since Mack is (quite literally) in the middle of nowhere, let’s talk about Colorado as a whole. This will be Linkin Park’s 15th time performing in the state. Twice in 2000, three times in 2001, once in 2002, once in 2003, twice in 2004, once in 2007, once in 2008, once in 2011, once in 2012, and once in 2014. Let’s get rocking here. In 2000, the band played two back to back shows: one in Denver and one in Colorado Springs on the Kottonmouth Kings’ ‘Ridin’ High’ Tour! In 2001, the band played their first show in Colorado in Englewood, on their Street Soldiers tour. This show also happened to be Styles Of Beyond’s last show on the tour. Speaking of SOB, there’s a little Fort Minor news out there right now… We’ll get into that later. The next show was in June, on the Ozzfest - the first Colorado show we have the setlist for! We even have a source for it, too - check it out in our Audio Downloads subforum. The last show of 2001 happened on the Family Values Tour, where the band brought out rare Hybrid Theory B-side ‘Step Up’ to the setlist as well as Aaron Lewis from Staind for ‘One Step Closer’! Over a decade before he became their lead singer, Chester came out during Stone Temple Pilots’ headlining set to jam on ‘Dead & Bloated’! Go figure. The band returned to kick of Projekt Revolution 2002 in Colorado Springs, the show that marked the consistent use of an encore break and the debut of the band’s cover of Deftones’ ‘My Own Summer (Shove It)’. Speaking of Deftones, when the band performed in Denver in 2003 on Metallica’s ‘Summer Sanitarium’ Tour, Chester came out to sing ‘My Own Summer (Shove It)’ during their set! The band returned on the Meteora North American Tour in 2004 to Colorado Springs, featuring a MASSIVE setlist with goodies like ‘Nobody’s Listening’, ‘It’s Goin’ Down’, ‘My December’, and ‘P5hng Me A*wy’. The Projekt Revolution 2004 performance in Greenwood Village was just as eventful, featuring fan-loved oldies like the Hip Hop Medley and a cover of Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Wish’. Ivan the Urban Action Figure came out and danced during ‘It’s Goin’ Down’ and Snoop Dog rapped ‘Gin & Juice’ over it, and Jonathan Davis of Korn sand over the Reanimated Bridge of ‘One Step Closer’. Jump to the Minutes To Midnight Touring cycle in 2007, where the band closed out Projekt Revolution in Greenwood Village: not only did the show feature fresh Minutes To Midnight tracks like ‘Hands Held High’ and ‘Shadow Of The Day’, but some older tracks also received some love. ‘Points Of Authority’ featured an extended intro with verse two of ‘High Voltage’, ‘One Step Closer’ featured an jam outro for the only time ever, and Mike invited EVERY band on the tour onstage during ‘Faint’. Wow! Another Greenwood Village show took place in the middle of Projekt Revolution 2008, where the band switched around the encore song placement, went on a bit earlier due to a strict curfew, played even more Minutes To Midnight tracks like a new version of ‘Wake’ (‘Wake 2.0’), ‘Leave Out All The Rest’, and ‘In Pieces’, and even whipped out a studio version performance of ‘Pushing Me Away’! Flash forward three years, to the only performance in Colorado on the A Thousand Suns Touring Cycle, in Denver. ‘When They Come For Me’, ‘Waiting For The End’, ‘The Catalyst’, ‘Burning In The Skies’ and more new songs were played that night. The band returned for the Living Things Tour, on the Honda Civic Tour with Incubus and MUTEMATH. Besides performing new songs like ‘Lost In The Echo’, ‘Burn It Down’, and ‘Victimized (w/ QWERTY)’, the band brought out Mike Einzinger from Incubus after the cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ in the bridge of ‘Bleed It Out’ to jam! Most recently, the band performed in Englewood on the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI. Fresh off of The Hunting Party were songs like ‘Guilty All The Same’, ‘Rebellion’, and ‘Final Masquerade’ - only two of which have been played on the current tour so far. That brings us to the present, with a concert. Linkin Park just completed two shows in Mexico, headlining Mexico City and Monterrey for the first time since September 2012. The setlists for these shows were changed up some, as the band played full headlining setlists for the first time since January. The three shows in May and Amnesia Rockfest in June all featured some version of a shortened setlist, whether it was a 75 minute version or 90 minute version. Finally in Mexico City, the band returned to their 100 to 105~ minute full headlining show. As expected, they added in ‘Final Masquerade’ and at least one song to the encore… this time it was ‘Crawling’, which hasn’t been played in full since Download Festival 2014. ‘Points Of Authority’ returned to the start of the set for the first time since the end of the European Tour in November 2014. Unfortunately, ‘Rebellion’ was listed on V4 of the setlist in Mexico City, but was dropped for V5 and wasn’t played, leaving it at just two performances in 2015 since it was dropped in January. Other changes include Mike dropping his solo medley for the first time on the touring cycle for The Hunting Party. He replaced it with a longer version of ‘Remember The Name’ (at normal speed) followed by the Linkin Park debut of ‘Welcome’. Rob, Phoenix and Joe play at the end of the track. What should we expect in Colorado? Well, if Linkin Park gets a FULL set, we'll see what they played in Mexico City. If they decide to play their 90 minute setlist, we'll see the Rock on the Range abbreviated festival set. The three setlists right now that are being played are US Festival (Shortened), which is 75 minutes, US Festival, which is 90 minutes, and US Festival (Full), which is the set from Mexico. Unfortunately, a Linkin Park fan named Christopher passed away the day before the Monterrey show. He was diagnosed with spastic muscular dystrophy and his Facebook post was shared more than 71,000+ times worldwide by Linkin Park fans to help him win a Meet & Greet, which was one of his biggest dreams in life. He won, and met the band in Mexico City. At the Monterrey show, Chester dedicated the band’s encore to him and gave a short speech about him. In case you’ve missed it (somehow), Fort Minor is back in business! Fresh off of a new single entitled ‘Welcome’ (fully equipped with a 360 video!) and a performance on Conan, Mike is raring to go with the project. He’s recently brought out a new, shortened version of ‘Remember The Name’ and ‘Welcome’ at Linkin Park shows - will he play them at Loudwire? Before the band wraps up their Summer North American Tour in Milwaukee at the Summerfest, Mike has a solo show to play. That’s right, Fort Minor will be performing its first ever one-man show at The Exchange in Los Angeles on Monday, June 29, also being its first full comeback show - their first show since 2006! We can’t say for certain what he’ll play from The Rising Tied (since ‘Welcome’ is a given), but he has said in an interview with Billboard that he’s looking forward to performing ‘Petrified’, ‘In Stereo’, and, even more surprisingly, ‘Cigarettes’ and ‘Kenji’, the latter of which has never been performed live! ‘Cigarettes’ has been performed live, but only as an a cappella version of the first verse. We’ll bring you all of the updates, so even if you can’t go, you’ll be up to date! Don't worry, to those non-US fans. There's some speculation that they'll be returning to Europe sooner than you think! The band’s final North American show of the summer comes on May 30th in Milwaukee, WI for Summerfest. It will be their first show in the actual city of Milwaukee and will be the last time to see Linkin Park in North America for now, as they do have one show in Tempe, AZ left in October. They will head to China in July for five stadium shows before playing ten shows in Europe on The Hunting Party Tour. Other news in the Linkin Park world include the release of the music video for Steve Aoki’s ‘Darker Than Blood’ featuring Linkin Park (and, in the video, Mike Shinoda) and all of the Fort Minor hype we covered earlier. For updates on the show, check back here or follow us on Twitter! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2015 touring schedule here. -

The new video for Steve Aoki's song, "Darker Than Blood" featuring Linkin Park is out now! You may remember a few months ago, Mike and Steve were hoping on Periscope showing us some behind the scenes footage of shooting the video. Well, now here it is! The video tells the story of a disease-ridden future, where the only way to save humanity is find a cure. The disease turns its victims into zombies, and the Neon Future is crumbling. It is up to Mike and Steve to create the cure and save the world! What are your thoughts on the music video? I think it's a pretty awesome one. Linkin Park are currently performing a shortened version of the song at their headlining shows, and Steve often plays the song with alternative drops at his shows. Steve Aoki's Neon Future II is available now.

Video's coming out tomorrow!

Isn't the entire band playing at least at the end though? I thought it looked like Rob and Phoenix at least were doing something.
