  1. Neither of these are official or even by a major recording artist, so there's no point in adding them to the Wiki pages.
  2. Since it's getting a music video, maybe it's a single but not worldwide? I can see it being something like a single in Europe. Listening to the song more and looking at the lyrics, I think Pusha T is the weakest part of the song. Mike's verse may not be his standard flow but he still delivers some biting lines, and Stormzy's lines are pretty boisterous ("Let me say goodbye to my demons / Let me say goodbye to my past life / Let me say goodbye to the darkness / Tell 'em that I'd rather be here in the starlight"). Pusha, though. "A period is after every sentence / Did my time with my cellmate" the fuck is this? Feels like something he tried to do on the spot.
  3. Based on what Chester just tweeted, sounds like this song's gonna pretty heavy. And not 'Heavy' heavy.
  4. This is both disrespectful and ignorant. You don't have to like it, but for you two disregard their work and passion is just uncalled for. Plus, you'd have to really, really try to not know who Pusha T is.
  5. I can't believe you've done this
  6. We've all been waiting in anticipation for this new track, and it's finally hear. Another taste of One More Light is here, and this time, 'Good Goodbye' is delivering some hip-hop vibes. Earlier this week, Linkin Park posted the lyrics for 'Good Goodbye' on Genius, and there was quite a mixed reaction. The song has now been released through HipHopNMore as it slowly makes its way onto localized iTunes stores across the world - you can expect it to be available whenever it's Friday for you. The song was also briefly on Spotify and should be rolling out there as Friday comes, as well. UPDATE: The official lyric video for the track has been released. 'Good Goodbye' features rapper Pusha T and grime artist Stormzy. Pusha T has been featured on Linkin Park music before (he offered a verse on the 'Ill Be Gone' Vice Remix on RECHARGED), but this is Stormzy's first outing with the band. Interestingly enough, from what we have gathered from interviews, 'Good Goodbye' came about very early on in the recording process but Stormzy's verse wasn't added until the very end. Mike actually had two verses on the track originally. You can read up on everything about 'Good Goodbye' on its Linkinpedia page. What do you think of the song? It's pretty different from the rest - it even has a bit of a Fort Minor vibe to it. It's one of the only tracks on the record that will feature Mike rapping. It's definitely one of the band's more hip-hop driven tracks in the latest years; it even has a reference to Ray Charles' 'Hit The Road Jack' to give it that extra hip-hop flair. One thing we're all wondering: how will this song be played live? Personally, I think Mike will be able to pull of Pusha's verse, but will do something special over Stormzy's verse (something like Mike's Solo Medley in 2014 and 2015). Maybe Stormzy will come out and perform the song with the band when they head to England later this year in July. Let us know what you think! This may be the last taste of new music before One More Light releases on May 19. The band has filmed a music video with Stormzy earlier this year, so we can expect that to be released soon, as well. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook so you stay up to date with the latest Linkin Park news.
  7. If anything that makes me respect the song more. Nothing like a good reference in a hip-hop song. I really dig this track, feels like a hip-hop version of LITE meets Powerless. Mike's and Pusha's verses are pretty solid, and I've been on board with Stormzy's appearance on the song since it was announced, but I will admit it is a bit jarring. I like it still, could've been better. The best thing to me is that there's actually a pretty mixed reaction to this track. Seeing people initially say "this is good" rather than everyone saying "fuck this" initially is actually creating some discussion. EDIT: Closing this thread, all discussion goes in the new one.
  8. That was hilarious. Really good to see the entire band actually having fun together.
  9. We must've missed the hint about THP being "heavy" and starting out as pop too. These fuckers have been dropping hints since before the last record.
  10. This... this is excellent.
  11. This is both hilarious and sad to read through. Imagine getting rilled up over the tone of a single word from a guest spot on a sarcastic song. Look at the facts: This song is an outlier, so maybe the real emotional quality that was present in other songs isn't really in this one. This song is about the feeling of getting kicked out of a basketball game (which probably sucks) AND getting out of a bad relationship (which sucks even more). It's a sarcastic song. In all the verses you can pretty much tell that none of it has a very serious tone. Mike's verse in particular feels really fun, not meant for some dark, "one thing I don't know why" bars. These are guest spots. Why in the hell should they have to change their normal tone for something Linkin Park friendly? If they wanted that, they wouldn't have brought in these guest artists. Their own original tone is what will make the song stand out. If the use of a word or phrase is enough for you to completely dismiss this track and move on, get over yourself. You're allowed to not like the use of it but to make a huge deal out of it is just childish. Good lyrics doesn't mean complexity. I'm not going to defend this song and say its a lyrical masterpiece. Hell, the chorus is probably the worst thing I've seen yet. But in general, people just don't realize what a "focus on lyrics" means. It's really easy to write something sappy and poetic and put it to a melody. To write a song that's essentially a conversation and carries a strong message all the same is really hard, but the band has managed to own that with the two previously released songs. I'm not going to judge this one yet because I haven't heard it, but given that it's an outlier and such I'm not going to hold it to the same standard. It's really obnoxious to keep seeing "these lyrics suck" because someone thinks "I don't like my mind right now" is a less honest and real phrase than "My mind is drowning in a sea of poison because I'm crawling in my skin". That's my rant that'll undoubtedly come up again and again because people don't learn. One thing that's necessary for music in general (and especially given that Linkin Park is a highly versatile band) is to be open to new ideas and sounds. You may not like it, but to not even try is your own fault. The overarching negativity is really killing a lot of discussion here and it's sad to see. Channel negativity into something we can talk about rather than something people will read and have to feel bad about if they like the song. Don't censor yourself, but try and illicit something more than "this is ass."
  12. Damn some great lines on this one. Mike's verse is a killer. Excited to see how this one sounds.
  13. Not a terrible remix, not something I think I'll ever listen to again, though. I like the vocal chops part, but everything else is pretty standard.
  14. That setlist isn't great, to be honest, at least in my opinion. BIO could be a good opening track but it would have to be executed right. It's a much better closer no matter how you look at it. The extended parts really make the track what it is and dropping them feels like you're weakening the track. The set doesn't really flow well either; 'Numb' is still a relatively heavy song and going straight into a piano medley is fine if there are more softer tracks backing it. Going straight into 'The Catalyst' afterwards feels far too climactic and interrupts the flow. The second encore feels pretty weird too, 'Given Up' wouldn't sound too great that late into the set considering the strain it puts on Chester. Good ideas, but it feels much too idealistic rather than realistic. It could work, but it'd be pretty hard to pull off and I'm sure it'd be kind of awkward pacing wise. Rob basically injures himself playing it.
  15. Really hope some of these ideas get implemented into the set. Would be great to see some actual fan-input in the set rather than just assumptions that "hey, they'll probably want to hear this" based on Tweets and stuff. Maybe setting up a poll would work. Muse did this in 2016, and include every song in their setlist (including their hits), at a FESTIVAL show. Still, two heavier deep cuts ('Assassin' and 'Butterflies & Hurricanes') were chosen by all the fans. I think something like this would work out. Another option I think would to just have a loose setlist idea that the band decides on the day before or something that they can play. Radiohead does this - the first three or four songs of every set are the same ('Daydreaming,' 'Desert Island Disk,' and 'Ful Stop') then they play whatever the hell they feel like. Different songs every show, fans love it. Tour debuts left and right. I'd say rehearse a selection of maybe 30-50 songs (Radiohead rehearsed their entire discography, more or less) and play them as you see fit. Try different options, different pairings, and work from there. Rehearse tracks at soundchecks. That's something lots of bands do - Muse, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Radiohead, etc. This last point is pretty related to the previous one: don't have such a mechanical approach to the set. 2014-2015 was a great idea in that it was one big experience rather than song-by-song, but a lot of fans really started getting bored after awhile. In early 2015, the two sets were identical until the fourteenth song (that's a little more than halfway through) and after that one song was played, we knew what to expect. There's nothing wrong with having planned setlists (as long as there's a selection) as long as they're varied. A more laissez-faire approach to this as I said before would make every night more interesting not just for the fans, but for the band, too. It's easy to get into the groove, but there's a certain adrenaline that comes with that uncomfortable vibe. The guys don't like getting comfortable when recording new music, so I don't see why live should be any different.
  16. The big finale to Linkin Park's European promo is here. The entire band and Kiiara are performing 'Heavy' at the ECHO Awards in Berlin, Germany! Mike and Chester have been in Europe for almost two weeks now doing promotional shows in a few cities. They hit four places on their trip: Amsterdam, Paris, London, and Hamburg. On this trip, they performed a few acoustic tracks (including the live debut of 'Battle Symphony') and announced a few headlining shows along the way. Mike and Chester debuted 'Battle Symphony' in Paris, France, where they played a piano version of the track. This trip is coming to an end now, this time with the entire band. All six members of Linkin Park (+ Kiiara) are in Germany right now ready for to perform 'Heavy'. This will be the second full band performance of the cycle, and the second time the full band version of 'Heavy' is performed. 'Heavy' has been played as its piano version many more times than its studio version, so it'll be good to hear all the band members performing again. Linkin Park and Kiiara performed 'Heavy' at The Late Late Show With James Corden back in February. This is the only other full band performance of the song so far! The awards ceremony will start at 8:15 PM CEST, but the song performance will air tomorrow on the 7th. Linkin Park will begin touring on May 6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We have one month - mark your calendars. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  17. Giving away all the guitars because Brad doesn't play them anymore, smart
  18. Arcane Roots and Linkin Park would be legendary.
  19. One (or should I say, two) more performance(s) until the big finale to this promo tour. Mike and Chester (and possibly more) are in Hamburg, Germany today for some more One More Light promo! Unlike past cities the two have been doing some promo in, we actually know that there will be more than one performance. One of these two will be livestreamed - the show at Warner Music Group Germany, where Mike and Chester will be performing for the employees there. It will be live streamed on Warner Music Germany's Facebook page. The stream will be at 3:00 PM CEST (check your timezone here), so be sure to have this countdown handy so you don't miss it. Mike and Chester will be answering some questions from the stream and will be performing some stripped down songs afterwards. The last stop on the promo tour was in London, England. During the YouTube Space show, Swedish/Moroccan singer Sofia Karlberg joined Mike and Chester to perform 'Heavy'. It's already confirmed that a second performance will be taking place, too, and this one is open to LPU contest winners. The two will be heading over to the Mercedes me Store in Hamburg tomorrow, as well, to do a Q&A and perform for fans. We'll be keeping you updated on both shows. The band has played at least two shows in each city they've been to (barring Amsterdam), so it's nice to have a heads up ahead of time. We went from two Toronto shows and one in Amsterdam and Paris at the start of this all to four Toronto shows, one Amsterdam, two Paris, two London, and two Hamburg shows at the end. Will the number keep rising? Probably. There's a good chance more promo shows will appear as companies release promo performances around the time One More Light comes out in May. What's interesting to note is that these shows may have some guests. Both Mr. Hahn and Kiiara headed to Hamburg today. We know that the performance at the ECHO Awards on the 6th will be a full band performance so it's not really a surprise that they're going to Germany, but it'll be interesting to see if they show up to any of these promo events. We say Chester playing around with an acoustic guitar in the car trip to the airport in London on Mike's Instagram story, as well, so we may see some real acoustic action coming. Something else to look out for is a possibility of a headlining show announcement. We all know the band loves Germany - more than half of the shows in the band's 2014 Fall European Tour were in Germany. Even though the band is headlining the Southside and Hurricane festivals there this summer (two festivals in Paris as well are coming, and no headlining show was announced there), the chances are fairly high for a headlining show for Germany. Berlin, maybe? They have a Mercedes-Benz Arena now, so that probably makes the chances even higher. Is anyone heading to one of these events? We'll be keeping you updated on anything we find, so be sure to check here or follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page to be sure you don't miss anything. These are the last promo performances of this European trip, so get ready for a long wait until May when the tour kicks off (or maybe even before). What songs do you want to see Mike and Chester perform today? Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  20. Mike noticed how things haven't really changed as far as music writing and technology goes since he began. His favorite movies are The Godfather II and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He's excited to see the new Guardians Of The Galaxy and Valerian. Mike and the band encourage remixers to keep doing there things. Mike usually doesn't freestyle a lot. Mike is trying to find ways to get more demos and studio content that didn't make the album out to fans. Not all of it, because a lot of it is bad. There is some cool stuff, though. On the subject of the "Old Linkin Park" sound: the band's always trying to experiment. He compared them to McDonalds. They don't want to be the same Big Mac all the time. #deep Hybrid Theory and Meteora have different sounds in them. 'Points Of Authority' isn't the same as 'Nobody's Listening' and 'Breaking The Habit'. The band doesn't hate those albums - they still play them live. It's weird to Mike to think that people think the older songs are deeper than the newer stuff. The band still like to bring back old sounds into their sound - he often hears that from people who don't even know The Hunting Party. 'Leave Out All The Rest' may be in the new set. (THE BALLAD MEDLEY RETURNS?) Mike would like to perform with an orchestra. The band are working on a new video for another new song that isn't super serious. It's not super silly, but it's still not very serious. It's a change of pace. Chester has a potty mouth.
  21. All that this proved was that some of you guys need to relax and have a laugh once in awhile
  22. New exclusive: promo shot for the upcoming One More Purpose tour. We call this one "focussing on lyrics."
  23. It's been a long time coming, but we have a big announcement to make. We've been considering this for awhile now, but we're following in the steps of former Linkin Park crew members and moving on to a new artist. LPLive is changing gears. Our staff is aging in reverse and getting younger every day (high five, Nick!), so it's only right we change to fit our own desires. We're happy to introduce... Justin Bieber Live Made for the pop, by the pop. In case you didn't know, a couple of key components of Linkin Park's live crew, such as sound engineer Pooch and Dylan Ely, another audio mixer in the crew, left the band to go join Justin Bieber's crew last year. Pooch has been so nice to us in the past, it's only right we keep on following him. In fact, we're still thinking that the site should be Pooch Live instead. Regardless, you probably won't notice the change much. Linkin Park is full pop now, anyway. Fake pop, and we're a site that doesn't tolerate fake news. Linkin Park isn't even a real park - they even spelled "Lincoln" wrong! Instead of One More Light, we're changing our own promo campaigns to One More Purpose to support Justin's latest record. Our first Bieber exclusive: we have information that says Justin Bieber will perform a special mashup of 'Sorry' and the Linkin Park song 'Sorry For Now' on his upcoming tour. Every aspect of our website will be changing to accommodate our new focus. Over the next few days you'll start seeing the changes; we're working on moving the site to jblive.com, Linkinpedia is moving to Bieberpedia, and we'll be adding his shows into the live guide. We already have a new wiki page for him, as well a show page (check out the setlist for his show in London 2016 here). You won't have to worry about signing up again to the new site, as everything's being ported over. And we know you won't be leaving so there's no point having a function to delete your account. You can't leave. ever. There's a lot of cool things to look forward to in this new era for the site. The Bieber crew saw our old petition to bring back DSPs for the band that stopped around 2012, and will be bringing the program back with HQ recordings of Justin Bieber's shows, and they're back and bigger than ever! Now you can purchase every single show in the super deluxe audio recording package featuring colored vinyl, a personalized ringtone from Justin, and even a CD of 'Burn It Down' remixes that Pooch could never get rid of. We also have a rumor going around the Linkin Park's summer tour may feature the Biebs as the headliner, the lineup being Justin Bieber, Jared Leto and his backing band, Kiiara, and Linkin Park (in that order). This is what happens when you make fake pop. You get fake headlining contracts. Justin puts on a crazy show - check out this wild production! Pyro! Linkin Park doesn't use that anymore because Joe gets scared and messes up all the intros to the songs due to his shaking. Who's excited to join us for this new chapter? We've seen the YouTube comments (as well as Geki's and Castro's), so we know everyone hates Linkin Park anyway, so there was really no point continuing to go down this road. Be sure to follow our Twitter and Facebook pages (which will also be changing soon) so you get all the latest Justin Bieber news. For those select few who still like Linkin Park, rumor is that Bieber may feature on all the unrevealed tracks on One More Light, so we will have a bit more LP news to report in the future.
