My biggest hope right now is that they release the album release date, tracklist, artwork etc. alongside the first single. The wait for those was way too frustrating with THP... But it does sound like new album related stuff is coming very soon which is great.

Who will Linkin Park bring on tour in North America?
Mesck547 replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
I was listening to blink as I read this Even though they're opening for LP in Europe, it seems unlikely to me that they'll open for LP for an entire tour (just like LP wouldn't open for Metallica for an entire tour, even though they were direct support for them in some festivals in 2013 and 2015). I would be stocked if ATL opened for LP. Should be a pretty cool tour. I can see them bringing OM&M on tour again, even though Austin left the band. I'm pretty sure they'll be in Europe the same time as LP, so it's possible that they'll be avalible for a U.S run in July-August. BMTH would've been a pretty good option, but they're already doing a U.S tour this March-April and I'm pretty sure that would be the end of their touring cycle. -

I believe they'll promote the album a bit better this time around as well. I didn't think they'll release the album until after the first tour, but I was probably wrong unless there's going to be another tour around February/March. My best guess for an album release date right now would be mid April.

Took a quick look at the website, and I must say, job well done. Can't wait to see how it'll look when it's fully finished. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this and for the amazing week of exclusives. Keep up the great work!

THIS. I was excited when I heard him say that. To be honest, I think we should be happy we're getting anything at all. It's not like they have to do it. They could have stayed silent like they did with THP.

So I guess we won't have a year with no LP shows after all -
This is awesome, thank you guys so much!

Seems like they are making some progress. I don't think the album will be released before the end of 2016 though.
-
The beat sounds cool. If it is new, I guess that means they're going deeper into the sound stage of the record, which is great.

As mentioned here, I feel like the marketing for THP wasn't very successful. Even though the band seemed very excited about the album, there was barely any promotion done prior to its release, both on their side and Warner Brothers'. I think the lack of music videos, THP album-related LPTV episodes, a proper lead single (with the whole disaggrement between them and the label about the lead single, and the way GATS was released, it didn't feel like there was a proper lead single for this album), and to some extent, the lack of THP songs at live shows, lead to a lack of interest from casual fans during the THP cycle. If you ask me, this is how they should've done it: April- Final Masquerade + music video May- Rebellion + music video May/June- Release GATS, UIG and Wastelands on iTunes June- Album release September- GATS music video (a proper one) January- UIG music video +Play 5 songs from THP at every show.

Seems like an error to me, it's way too early for them to release anything in my opinion. But we'll see.

This actually sounds sick. I hope a studio version comes out soon.

October 20th, 2015- Guitar Hero Live (Wastelands)

Great podcast. Congrats to LPA for getting Mike to do this, one of the best interviews with him I've heard in a while. Seems like he's very excited about the new album. I'm interested to see how this different approach to writing songs turns out. It seems to me like they're giving the lyrics more attention this way, which is always a good thing.

Minutes To Midnight B-Sides/Demos Tracklist
Mesck547 replied to Skipees's topic in Everything Linkin Park
1. Pale 2. What We Don't Know 3. QWERTY 4. Chance Of Rain 5. Announcment Service Public 6. Pretend To Be 7. Blackbirds 8. Not Alone 9. Across The Line 10. No Roads Left -
Got the digital download and I have to say I'm pretty happy with the tracks. Animals and Chance of Rain are awesome, Basil and the Pods are nice to listen to when you're listening to the entire thing. Plus, I like what the LPU has to offer this year, especially streaming the entire LPU catalog. My membership expired back in September, finally took the time to renew it.

Dissapointed this had to happen, but as I mentioned before, I can definitley understand Chester's decision. Hopefully this is what's best for him, LP and STP.
-
I wouldn't belive the story if it was just that Scott statment, but the extra source makes this sound a bit more credible. If Chester actually left STP, it would be ashame he did before they even did one full length together. He seemed to be having tons of fun on stage with them, and I was pretty excited for their new stuff. Hope this isn't true. But if it is, I undersand why Chester would want more time with his family and to work with LP. He's been super busy for a very long time.

I'll be happy if LP did an EDM album, or an album with EDM influences. In general, I'm interested by every new direction the band is trying to explore. Having said that, and the fact I enjoyed the collabs with Steve a lot, I'm excited to see what the band is able to do in the EDM direction. However, I do think this is probably FM related, or a collab for Martin's new album. Makes more sense to me.

2015.11.01 - Tempe, AZ - Monster Mash
Mesck547 replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
I find it funny that Mike himself told us IBG won't be played . Anyawy, pretty sure it's the exact same set as Europe. -
It's not the lack of announcements. We knew they were probably not gonna announce anything. It's the lack of new information. Almost everything Mike talked about in the interview has been known for quite a while now.
