Quick thoughts: - The whole EP is extremley well written and emotional. These are some of the most honest, personal and painful songs we've ever heard from Mike. - Mike's singing is top notch. - Rapping wise, this is the rawest I've heard him in a long time. It feels like he's on the verge of screaming at some points. - Getting some ATS vibes from Over Again and Watching As I Fall. - I love how he did the music videos on his own. - The whole project is great. My favorite as of now is probably Over Again.

I have to pretty much agree with everyone and say that the show was amazing. I wish I could've been there, but even watching the webcast was a very special and emotional experience for me. Major props to the guys for being able to pull this off. I can't imagine what it must've been like for them to go out on stage without Chester. They honored him in the best way possible.

Well, he's not THAT terrible. He has his ups and downs, but he improved a lot during BMTH's last touring cycle. And he's a LP fan, so he's going to give it his all when performing with them. But he's still nowhere near Chester's level, so I don't really see him joining the band for the Japan shows.

Random idea: What if they do a Vyrt like they did for their Hollywood Bowl show in 2014? I know it didn't work too well back then, but think about it. They can sell tickets and have these packages that 30STM had that included mp3 and video downloads of the show after it's over. They can donate the profits to the One More Light Fund. It wasn't that expensive from what I remember, I'm sure fans who won't be able to make it to the show won't mind.

I'm really proud of the guys for doing this show, it must be hard for them to get up on stage after such a short time. I was actually thinking about making the trip, but it's way out of my budget. I hope they'll have a webcast.

I was just thinking about that. I'm pretty sure they'll address the LA event and the Japan shows. I don't think they'll announce something as big as a new direction for the band, but maybe they'll put out a general statement about whether they plan to continue as a band or not.

I agree with MTM having some of their darkest lyrics, but OML is up there with MTM and ATS as one the band's drakest albums IMO. I'm pretty sure Mike said in an interview that the album has a poppier sound because the lyrics are very dark, and they didn't want it to be too depressing. Regarding NCSM, I feel like it's one of the darker tracks on the album. I always though of it as a song about hitting rock bottom. The first verse in particular seems to talk about being in a very dark place ("I'm hanging off the edge" is the first line that comes to mind) and feeling lost. The second verse has very hopeless vibe too. It discusses the reasons for the feelings described in the first verse ("Answers yet to come" and "false solutions". Not finding what they've been looking for, realizing their methods of coping with their inner demons were wrong). I also view the chorus as pretty dark. They're asking to be forgiven because their past mistakes haunt them, and the light they're holding up sounds to me like a hopeless effort against their demos, which are, at this point, stronger than them. However, there is an underlying sense of postivity in the realization that only they can save themselves from their inner demons. Only they can pick themselves off the ground. This is the answer and the solution they've been looking for. Battle Symphony looks like a pretty similar song lyrically to me, almost like a continuation of NCSM. While NCSM focuses more on what got them to this point and the feeling of being lost and broken, BS focuses more on the fight and picking yourself off the ground. So I tend to view NCSM as darker and BS as more positive.

I hope they'll release it as a single with a music video dedicated to Chester. It can be a beautiful tribute. But I'm kind of confused, did they end up not releasing TTM?

I'm pretty sure they'll be able to pull off the studio version of Papercut without too many probelms. Faint is a different story, but as you said, they can make it work. The only "big" singles they'll have a problem performing are OSC, ND, BIO and BID. And I'm sure Mike can come up with a way to play at least a couple of them live. WID, Crawling and Numb can work in a stripped down form IMO. I don't think that many people are against it, it's just that some of us would prefer seeing them continue as a 5 piece. I ultimately want what's best for the band and I'll support them no matter what. But personaly, I think that because of the impact Chester had on us all and the special place he has in our life, it'll feel wrong to see someone else taking over his place.

I gave it a listen. Feels a bit too dancy for this type of tribute to me, but he's an EDM artist and I can see why he wanted to pay Chester respect this way. Overall, I'm glad he did it. On another note, the name is just weird.

Agreed. Even though I don't think there will ever be a guy that can sing, scream, and have a stage presence like Chester's. Not that familiar with Matty or Craig, but you're right about Oli not leaving BMTH. They've been together for a very long time. He's also going through a bit of a weird phase vocally where he can't scream as well as he used to and his singing isn't quite there yet at times. He improved a lot during their last touring cycle, but I don't think he's in the level where he can perform songs that have demanding clean and unclean vocals on a nightly basis and nail them.

I'm saying this as a guy who listens to a lot of metalcore bands and likes the genre: Metalcore vocalists tend to be very one dimensional. A lot of bands actually have 2 vocalists because one guy specializes in cleans and the other one in screams. Even a guy like Aaron Pauley who can do both bores me a lot of times and doesn't come close to Chester's level.

I don't think the guys would want to do this hologram thing. At least I hope they won't. Let the man rest in peace. If they do end up playing the Japan shows I think it means they'll carry on as a 5 piece. Do you guys think they're actually going to go through with them?

I'll definitely keep supporting them regardless of the decision they end up making. But I do feel like if the band carries on it needs to be done as a 5 piece. I just think that seeing another guy on stage with the them would feel wrong. I don't think the guys would be too comfortable accepting a new member to what is essentially their second family at this point either. I know how much we hated this attitude coming from STP fans back in the day, and I have to say that I get them more now than I did a few years ago. And it's not like Chester left the band or got kicked out. This is different. The live show could be made up of mostly Mike led songs. They can use Chester's vocals on playback for the big hits like Numb or ITE. And I'm sure Mike could come up with interesting new ways to perform some songs. I also feel like at this point he can take on the lead singer role for future material. I said it in the other thread too, but if it was up to me I'd have the guys continue making music under a different name. A part of me just feels like LP can't exist without Chester. But I can totally see why they might want to keep using the LP name. As I said before, they'll have me as a fan no matter what. Take as much time as you need guys. The fanbase is here for you.

I'm pretty torn up about this. I don't know what to think right now. I don't think they'll get another vocalist, nobody could ever fill Chester's shoes. Besides that, I don't think the guys will be comfortable sharing the stage with another member that isn't him. A part of me feels like LP can't exist without Chester. But I do feel like he would've wanted the guys to keep making music together. If it was up to me, I would use the material they have in the vault to release another album with Chester's vocals as a tribute to him, then retire the LP name and have the 5 remaining members carry on as a band under a different name. However, I would support the guys regardless of the choice they end up making.

I've seen some hertbreaking news about fans today. I just want anyone who thinks about following Chester's footsteps to know that he would've never wanted you to do anything like this. We have to stay strong for him. We'll get through it together like the family that we are. I've never believed in the line that I have in my signature more than I do now. The best thing we can do right now is spread love in Chester's memory, and be kind and supportive towards each other. I know it doesn't mean much coming from a stranger on the Internet, but just know that every single one of you means something to me. There's a light at the end of tunnel for all of us.

I'm devastated. Goodbye Chester, and thank you for everything. I'm sorry we couldn't be there for you like you were for us so many times in the past. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I hope they can stay strong through this.

I think it's pretty normal to talk about a new LP album two months after it's released on a LP fansite. Chill guys. There's no need to give the dude shit because he likes OML and is interested in sales stats. I think it might be certified gold in the U.S at some point.
