Screaming like a fucking beast with lyrics about slaughter and blood ? It’s really a Mike thing 😂

What the fuck are you talking about? Do you even know what nightcore is? It's basically sped up / pitch shifted music. lol

It's closely related to the current hyperpop (see OSC 100gecs remix) trend.

well, and you didn't once again.

    edit:
man, that pic just shows the original tapes they sent to the studio at the time they recorded them. No relation with any tracklist, just random takes.

Just saw on Instagram. That tracklist is just this tape:

Nothing to do with the album.

  5. It seems everyone forgot about Mike doing the same thing with Post Traumatic. He released an EP and said he might do more if it's well received.

Agree on the fact that he’s not gonna out an album with press, cd, vinyls, etc just due to the demand of a strict fanbase. He’s smart enough to estimate and consider the situation as a whole with its pros and cons and then go for the cleverest thing to do.

That's a sad statement and fits in the sellout narrative. It's like he won't release music for the fans, but for the masses with the sole purpose of making money.

  6. The release date of another song from the ShinodaProduceMe initiative has been announced. 'I Can't Feel A Thing' by UK rapper and singer Judison was produced live on Twitch by Mike Shinoda on January 27 and 28.

The original piano and vocal demo had two verses and a chorus without any real structure to it. Mike commented:

“He’s [Judison] got his concept, he knows what his song is about, he’s got a hook, I like the hook, it’s very simple, and I want to be able to play with it and make more out of it.”

On Friday (02/12), Judison announced a February 26th release date for the finished track along with a preview on Instagram. He wrote:

“This is one of my favorite songs I've ever written and it really has been a real life dream come true to be produced by Mike and I'm so incredibly thankful for the opportunity and to connect with all of you! To my newest gang members, I'm so happy ur here and I love you so much. Thank you all for the continued love and support you show me you have NO idea how happy I am to have you here with me. We all go through it, we're all constantly tryna figure out why and what we are doing here on this planet.. But here we are, everyday pulling each other up and out of the trenches.... I wrote this song from an extremely painful place in my life, at a time where I was completely numb and pretty lost. While I'm here I'm gonna remind you that you are meant to be who you are, or you would have been born as someone else, so be you, fuckin own that shit, and never back down from what you believe in. So with all that said, the song will be out on the 26th February. I hope you love it as much as I do.”

    UPDATE:
New release date, March 12, 2021, as confirmed by Judison on Instagram:
"March 12th I Can’t Feel A Thing will be on all streaming platforms (apologies for delays and keeping u guys in the dark, wont happen again) 🖤🖤"

  7. Yeah, Mike said Slip was in the first batch of songs they did with Chester. If you read the book, when Jeff got that first CD with Chester, Brad told him they might record Slip with Chester. Apparently Jeff liked the song. It was probably right after that. Either Jeff doesn't have a CD with it or it is one of the CDs we don't have a tracklist. Note we don't have any tracklists with Flower or Stick N Move either. I believe the recording of Slip we have was in the same disc as Esaul, Blue and likely So Far Away. If I recall correctly, in the Hybrid Theory 20 book, Rob said the version of Stick N Move we got was recorded in early 2000 just so they could bring it to Don Gilmore.

Something I noticed: Caught Out There by Kelis was released in September 1999, but according to the book, the demo of Crawling with a line from that song was recorded around August. The only explanation I can think of is that they got an advanced version of the album or single since her song was recorded in 1998.

Oh, nice. Too bad it's album-only.

I was wondering about the whole EP actually because I just saw it on Tidal and it has a 'Master' tag on it.

    2 hours ago, martinez said:

The 'Master' means the source file that comes directly from the studio. Sometimes that can be lossless 24-bit, sometimes just 16-bit CD quality.

I think it actually means the release is available in MQA, which is a format Tidal claims to be lossless but it's actually lossy. The result is a big file with low quality. There's a lot of controversy around it.

Hey did No Roads Left, Across The Line and Rolling In The Deep get released only on iTunes?

No, I believe you can find the iTunes Festival EP on various digital stores now. I see you're from Brazil, so that means the EP is available on Spotify on your country. If you mean the single, I think it isn't available anywhere anymore. At least that's what it says here.

The original version of No Roads Left is available on the tour edition of Minutes To Midnight, but no digital store has it anymore as far as I know. The new version was included in the Minute To Midnight picture disc that came out in 2017. The iTunes deluxe version of the album from 2013 is now available in other digital stores with that version. It includes Across The Line too, but the only place to purchase the original version of Across The Line is the LPU store.

Hey guys, Jeff said that a friend of his has video of Xero/Hybrid Theory performing live and it´s on youtube. The only video I know is that crapy video of them performing Rhinestone. Is that the one that he´s refering too?

    Lockout maybe.

Don’t want to be the dick here, but I’ll never get the hype you guys seem to have for even more other HT demos, we have dozens and stuff like PB and CHB were nice, but even more demos ?

Why do you comment on every thread related to Linkin Park's early days just to say you don't see the appeal of Xero / Hybrid Theory demos?

During "Stick N Move", the strings in the song are sampled from Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Act II: "Un bel dì vedremo". When does the sample occur in "Stick N Move" and where in the sampled song "Un bel dì vedremo" is the part where it's sampled in "Stick N Move"?

So I was actually wrong about this, that sample isn't in Reading My Eyes OR Stick N Move, and I don't think it's used in any of the Xero tracks at all. The "101strg" samples are from Madama Butterfly, but I can't find anywhere that they were actually used.

You guys can download the MPC software as a free trial and open the Stick N Move projects from the "MIKE MPC" folder to see where in the song those samples are used. I can't do it because my license has expired.

Those tracks were Japanese bonus editions exclusives, Shouting Out has a totally different vocal take, and the album comes out as a super limited vynil and for free on streaming platforms... Don’t get the cash grab. It’s not that different from releasing HT20 Boxset with 90% of the content included being already out there for decades.
    Just my opinion

No, they weren't exclusive to Japan. They were all released in the US and at least 2 out of the 3 acoustic tracks were released in Europe and Japan too. Grey Daze just didn't sell them in the official stores. The reason for that is they wanted to make as many versions of the album as possible so crazy collectors and completists would buy more. That's how the business work. Then not long after the album came out they released an EP (3 more vinyls, mind you) with those tracks that were supposed to be exclusives to certain stores. That's a really dick move at minimum. To answer your earlier question in this thread, The Down Syndrome, Shouting Out and Sometimes already existed in acoustic versions in the 90s. The other two were made entirely (I mean, except for the vocals, obviously) for Amends.
