Big Chris Flores, a record producer and sound engineer who worked with Slash on his debut solo album has revealed more information about the unreleased collaboration between Slash and Chester Bennington titled 'Crazy' in a recent interview to Metal Temple:
"Ooooh good one! Yeah, back in 2010 I scored a movie with Slash called, “This Is Not A Movie. “Slash wrote a lot of cool instrumental ideas for that movie. when we finished with the movie he went back and decided which ideas he was going to turn into songs. He had a list of artists that he thought would work well with some of the songs. He reached out to a lot of different singers. For this one track he reached out to Chester. Later that month Chester came to the studio and recorded the demo called, “Crazy.” Well, it turned out that Linkin Park was releasing an album the same year Slash was and they did not want Chester to perform on any other album until their album was released. Later reached out to Lemmy from Motorhead and cut the song Dr. Alibi. That’s the one that made the album. I’m sure the song will be released sooner than later. We were just waiting for Linkin Park to do their thing with what they had recorded with Chester. We were also waiting for Chester‘s wife Talinda to decide when and how she wants to release the song . Slash got everybody he wanted on the album. The only issue was with Chester and the Linkin Park album being released at the same time."
In addition to that, today he went live on WHYS Radio and gave fans a sneak peak of the song which you can listen below. After Chester passed away, Talinda wanted to release it the demo the way it was, but they decided to return to the studio to finish the song and it was eventually shelved. He confirmed the song will be released, but there's no release date set for it yet. He hinted at maybe around Chester's birthday or around a mental health event like something with 320 Changes Direction.
Big Chris confirmed that he got both Slash and Talinda's approval to play the clip of the song and confirms an upcoming release with more information coming. -

I guess it is something new because it's scheduled for release. The song is called "Diana"
Awesome. Just saw the tracklist. Can't wait!
Looks like they're releasing a limited edition comic with Grey Daze on the cover to go along with the single:

Pre-order of the Grey Daze vinyl + comic:

It's one of the Chelsea Wolfe song.
I haven't seen the preview, is it a new song by her or something from a previous album?
By the way, for those who don't know, Grey Daze worked on an episode of the series last year. Tyler Bates created a new mix of B12 for it, but it seems the song wasn't used and this version was never released.

Mike Shinoda was live on TikTok today answering fan questions. Here's a recording for those who missed it, courtesy of our friends at LPCoalition.

We know Mike keeps his finger on the pulse of the LP fanbase, visits here, etc. He knew about PB hype. Does he really have no idea what Thoughts That Take Away My Pride is?
He very likely doesn't know. It's a similar situation to how he had no idea what "Be Yourself" was because that wasn't the actual title of the song. If someone sent him a link to the live performance he would probably say "oh, that's Pictureboard." We'd need to find a way to show him the clip or the screenshot of the lyrics so he knows what "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" is. Could even be one of the working titles we already know.

So this topic is dead then?
I mean, you're free to discuss it. I personally haven't found any song with that name anywhere. Not by Linkin Park and not by another artist named Xero. The title doesn't sound much like Linkin Park though.
-
I'm pretty sure this was discussed before and everyone agreed it was a song by a different artist named Xero that was somehow mixed in with Linkin Park on BMI.

We have some sad news today. American DJ, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer Pierce Fulton has passed away last Thursday evening, at 28 years old, following a struggle with mental health as revealed by his old brother Griff on Twitter.
The statement encourages fans and friends to send their condolences, photos, videos and recollections of Fulton to pierce@piercefulton.com. The family will be starting an organization in his honor soon.
As Linkin Park fans we're all too familiar with the pain of losing your idol, so we'd like to offer Pierce Fulton fans our condolences and ask Linkin Park fans to please lift up his fans on this difficult period.
Pierce Fulton made his name in the dance scene via house and progressive house productions. His single 'Runaway' topped Billboard's Emerging Artists chart and 'Kuaga (Lost Time)' was listed at number 38 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and used in a Smirnoff ad campaign. He released 3 studio albums, 4 EPs and numerous other singles. Additionally, he created remixes for the likes of Goldhouse, Steve Aoki, Usher and Felix Cartal.
In the Linkin Park community, he is known as one of the authors of 'Waiting For Tomorrow.' The single was originally written and recorded during the One More Light sessions in collaboration with Martin Garrix, Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda but was only released in late 2018 following numerous delays.
Different demo versions of the collaboration were first previewed by both Martin Garrix and Pierce Fulton during their sets starting in March 2016 and Fulton's version was passed around as a supposed leak of the song. It even received its own unauthorized lyric video from Garrix' former label! Listen below.
The official music video for 'Waiting For Tomorrow' was released on October 19, 2018 and stars Ihor Bliusovych and Mike Shinoda. The track hit number 26 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Nevermind, that IS the November 17 demo. We somehow missed that there were 9 tracks instead of 8. So the Xero 818 demo remains a mystery.
-
I think this might be the Xero 818 demo CD they were passing around in early November. We didn't include that anywhere because we didn't have a tracklist before. None of us remember that page you posted here at all. Maybe Jeff Blue updated his book?
Is there an exact date (or any indication) for when Jeff Blue received the CD? My guess is late October 1998. The tracklist is very similar to the November 17th demo, but without Rhinestone before Esaul. The November demo also had Step Up replacing Pointillism. I wonder if these two songs are somehow related.
We could try to ask Mike on Twitch about Pointillism and this soundtrack he was working on.

Pointillism is a style of drawing. If a link doesn't work anymore you can always try the web archive:

did all the physical releases get digital releases too? like if I wanted a b-side from a Meteora or MTM single that's not been released elsewhere (if that's even the case)
No. A lot of singles from Hybrid Theory and Meteora are still missing from digital stores. Basically only Somewhere I Belong is available and it's missing the live version of My December. At least now we have all the Hybrid Theory b-sides available on HT20.

I remember exactly that during the Pre-Order on iTunes (+ obviously in all other stores) the song had "(Stripped)" they later changed it for "(Demo)", so:
A - this can't be a mistake, since is the same on physical release.
B - the label can do it.
So the mistake was calling it Stripped and the band never fixed it on the official store / bandcamp.
33 minutes ago, martinez said:If it's about the YouTube thing, I think it could also mean that the acoustic version that they made in 2019/2020 was registered as "Down Syndrome (Acoustic)" and some video was uploaded with the song on youtube just before they changed the name of it.
Doesn't make much sense because they changed the name of the song to "The Syndrome" for Amends.
-

On some streaming platforms/stores it's listed as "Demo" in some other places (bandcamp) is there as "Stripped" youtube detects it as "Down Syndrome (Acoustic)".
I think maybe it was meant to be "Stripped" because the official site lists it that way and Bandcamp is also managed directly by the artists. The "Demo" thing could have been a mistake that the label is not willing to pay to fix (they'd have to pay to submit the songs again to stores/streaming). But I could be wrong. Could be the other way around. That track in particular is very similar to what they had released in 1997 while the others were either unreleased or newly recorded, so that could be the origin of "Demo" in the title. This is also the reason you see "Down Syndrome (Acoustic)" on YouTube. Grey Daze used to have both Wake Me and No Sun Today on their channel before they started promoting Amends. It probably recognizes the track as the 1997 version. The Amends Stripped version just contains some extra studio banter.

Found the origin of more samples from the Mike MPC folder (the one with .snd files):
- PUN&CLEF is Caribbean Connection by Big Punisher and Wyclef Jean.
- HIERO_AAH is from You Never Knew by Hieroglyphics.
- MOODY_LCHORD2 is House Of Four Doors (Part 2) by The Moody Blues.
- KST_N_PARA2 is None But The Lonely Heart by Andre Kostelanetz.
- J_NDREW_STAR is Parisian Pierrot by Julie Andrews from the Star! soundtrack.
- TORIAM1 is China by Tori Amos.
- FRM_RSSA is From Russia With Love by John Barry from the James Bond film of same name.
- PORTIS2 is Half Day Closing by Portishead.
I couldn't figure out PORTIS1, but it's certainly from another Portishead song. In addition, I think CSL_METH refers to The Crystal Method, SKILLZ to Mad Skillz and KRUSH might be from DJ Krush. PUN_NOISE might be from another song by Big Pun. There are several samples from Björk, one is even a voice sample but it's too short for me to know which song it came from. The strings and electronic noise might be easier to figure out. The samples are usually taken from the intro of songs.
If anyone is interested, here's a free software to convert snd to wav so they're playable on any device:

Some interesting things here:
- Turns out "Rendezvo" and "Stick&Mo" were incomplete names too. The projects were actually titled "Rendezvous" and "Stick&Move";
- The Moody Blues sample was used on Qua;
- The Madama Butterfly and Rendezvous strings were used both in Technique and the second version of Stick N Move (but not in the first!);
- Sky (Crawling) uses several sounds created for Stick N Move and the strings are from a Björk song;
- The Smashing Pumpkins sample was used in Hurry.

The title for Track 5 Linkinpedia says: The Syndrome (Stripped)
So what's correct: The Syndrome (Stripped) or The Syndrome (Demo)?
https://music.apple.com/us/album/amends-stripped-ep/1549091272
As far as I know, it's listed everywhere as demo except for the official store where it's listed as stripped.
-
So it turns out MOODYTUES is a sample from Tuesday Afternoon by The Moody Blues. Does anybody know in which Hybrid Theory demo this sound is used?
