  1. You can download it here: http://lp-bits.com/details.php?id=494 Jimmy Kimmel Live performances aren't allowed on YouTube.
  2. As some of you know, we've been having problems with the host we were using for our live show downloads. Today we've set up a new host for our files, but we need to do a test run on it before we start making everything available again. We'll be starting with our Downloads page and if everything works out, the live shows will be added gradually over the next few months. We took this opportunity to add some free downloads and recent exclusives that were missing from the page. All old links have been replaced with links from our new host. Keep in mind we don't provide links to officially released material. Visit our Downloads page here: https://lplive.net/downloads.php/
  3. According to the book: Xero -> Xero 818 -> Hybrid Theory -> Platinum Lotus Foundation -> Plear -> Lincoln Park -> Linkin Park. The August and November 1998 demos were likely under the name Xero 818. They had been using that name since at least June. Platinum Lotus Foundation was very quickly in late April. Plear was in early May for around 12 days. They pressed a CD under this name as mentioned here. Just wanted to post this information here.
  4. Back in October, during the promotion of the 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory, Mike Shinoda surprised fans with a photo from a previously unknown Xero performance at Backside Records Burbank. Now, thanks to Jeff Blue's book, released a couple days ago, we became aware of many new shows and were able to add many notes to already existing show pages. Two frat party shows are mentioned in the book, a Halloween 1998 show in Long Beach with Danny Goodwin of Virgin Records in audience and a UCLA show in November. The fact that Xero played at many frat parties was previously told by Mike Giangreco (Brad's boss at The Roxy and Whisky A Go Go) in the 2004 unauthorized documentary "Conspiracy Theory", but this is the first time we hear about specific shows. The two other new Xero dates are 1998 label showcases for Warner/Reprise on November 14 and November 22. On the second date they were rejected by none other than David Kahne, who would eventually become Jeff Blue's boss at Warner Bros. Records. Three showcases with Chester are described in the book. The first one is a big showcase for various record labels at the band's rehearsal studio while the others are specific showcases for Radioactive/MCA and Warner. This Warner showcase is the one that finally landed the band on the label. Jeff Blue provides a big list of labels that rejected the band prior to this, which includes Red Ant, Capricorn, Epitaph, DV8, Lava, Radioactive, DreamWorks, Elektra, Atlantic, Warner (3 times), Reprise, Arista, RCA, Interscope, Flawless, Universal, Universal/Republic, Capitol (3 times), Virgin, Disney, Hollywood Records, A&M, MCA, Island/Def Jam, Mercury, American Recordings and Columbia. Thanks to the book, we now have confirmation that Phoenix was in the band since Xero's very first show and left soon after Mark. Kyle Christener was the band's bass player when they started auditions for a new singer and stayed in the band until they were signed to Warner in late 1999. Phoenix rejoined Linkin Park for P.O.D's Kings Of The Game Tour in November 2000. An interesting note is that the tour almost didn't happen because P.O.D.'s management wanted Linkin Park to pay to be on the tour. They got around that by having Linkin Park's management help doing marketing for P.O.D. Another interesting story is that Papa Roach had already heard a Xero demo back in 1998 and was impressed with the music and decided on playing some shows with them. The two bands wouldn't meet until 99X's Big Day Out in 2000, when Papa Roach invited Linkin Park to their Master Bay Tour. New notes have been added to Xero's debut show in 1997 at the Whisky A Go Go and the band's final show with Mark Wakefield, in December 1998, which was actually a public label showcase. The Coconut Teaszer show in June 2000 was a Warner showcase to celebrate Hybrid Theory being finished. Jeff claims The Roxy show in September only happened due to the success of 'One Step Closer' on KROQ and the Best Buy show promoted by the radio station had a much larger audience than anticipated. The band sent out 'My December' to KROQ the exact day of their Nashville show and the song was debuted the following day. The reason behind the cancelation of the Columbus 2000 show is also revealed. The book features two photos of Chester's rehearsal with Size 5 for the Xero audition tape, courtesy of his ex-wife Samantha; various photos of the Big Fish Pub show from 1999, a flyer for the Mill Avenue Sport Rock Cafe show in 2000 and photos of the Gold Album presentation in Sacramento at the end of the year.

  7. The Glitch Mob has released an official visualizer for their remix of 'Waiting For The End.' The track was originally released in 2010 as a b-side on the CD single for the song. The video was created by Lake Hills and was made available on digital stores worldwide on December 4, 2020, however, it was only published on YouTube on December 7. Watch it below.
  8. With the release of Jeff Blue's book today, we became aware of two new Xero songs. This comes only 2 months after Linkin Park released the previously unknown Xero song 'Dialate' and Mike Shinoda dropped the previously unknown name 'Deftest' on Twitch. The book includes a photo of 3 DAT tapes, two of them credited to Xero and other to Xero 818. See the picture here. The first tape features the songs 'Fuse,' 'Reading My Eyes' and 'Stick N Move;' three songs that are credited solely to Mike Shinoda and Mark Wakefield. Joe Hahn has talked a couple of times about a 3-track demo the duo had recorded under the name Xero and sent to a record label whose A&R executive encourage them to put a band together. In a 2008 post on his blog, Mike explained 'Reading My Eyes' was both in the demo they would send to record companies and the demos they passed out to fans. It is quite possible this 3-track demo on the photo is the very demo that started it all for Linkin Park. The second Xero tape features 3 songs as well, this time with two previously unknown titles. The tracklist reads: 'Rhinestone,' 'Dreamer' and 'Weight.' 'Rhinestone' was one of the tracks written after Mike and Mark put a full band together. The song is credited to "Delson/Hahn/Shinoda/Wakefield." This means this is a later demo and the other two tracks were likely written by these four members too since they were the main songwriters in that era as evidenced in the credits of other Xero songs on the 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory. There's a chance either 'Dreamer' or 'Weight' is the infamous "Xero Reborn" song that was later recorded with Chester Bennington and worked on with producer Don Gilmore for Hybrid Theory. Another possibility is the song 'Spark Marker' that was once mentioned by Brad Delson during a LPU chat. The title, however, is mostly regarded by fans as a joke and was never mentioned by any other band member. In the book, Jeff Blue describes the very first cassette demo Brad played to him. The artwork was a Xerox photo of what appeared to be a mountain and the inside featured a faded photo of four band members and a close-up photo of Mike Shinoda. The tracklist featured 'Fuse,' an untitled track, 'Stick And Move' and 'Reading My Eyes.' The second track was his favorite, but Brad told him it was the band's least favorite track and it was eventually replaced by 'Rhinestone' on the second Xero demo he heard, the one with the baby cover. He described the untitled track: "The second song, with no title, incorporated a lot of hip hop. I loved the beat, the rapping was old school, and it had a simplistic guitar line with tasty harmonics that was instantly memorable. The song transitioned into an Alice In Chains-style chorus followed by a Rage Against the Machine-style guitar breakdown, with a hard-edged bridge that really impressed me." The third demo in the picture doesn't have a tracklist. It is credited to Xero 818, which Brad recently explained was a name they chose because there were already other bands called "Xero." The name was used on the flyer of their June 1998 show at The Roxy Theatre. It's likely this is the most recent tape from the 3 and it's possibly the source of the full band recordings of 'Rhinestone,' 'Esaul' and 'Pictureboard' from 1998. Obviously this is only speculation and shouldn't be taken as a fact. All 3 songs were on the tape they later sent to new singers auditioning for the band. The discovery of two new Xero titles leaves us at a total of 15 (or 16) known Xero songs: 01. Dialate 02. Deftest 03. Reading My Eyes 04. Fuse 05. Stick N Move 06. Coal 07. Rhinestone 08. Dreamer 09. Weight 10. Esaul 11. Pictureboard 12. Slip 13. Closing 14. Drop 15. Fiends 16. Spark Marker(?) Edit (December 9): The book confirms Carousel and Step Up as Xero demos! It also reveals the titles of three unreleased songs recorded with Chester: Turn To Grey, Ashes and Harmonic Song. Full list here.

  13. Knifes, a band founded by former Linkin Park roadies Ben Young (vocals and guitar) and Warren Willis (drums) with Fall Out Boys roadie Brian Diaz (bass) has put out their debut EP, "Proof of Concept." Ben, known to Linkin Park fans as Benjamin Chandler, started working as Brad Delson's tech in 2014. That same year, he stepped in as the lead guitar player for Linkin Park after Brad got sick. Playing in front of 50,000 people in Belo Horizonte and Brasília got him the confidence to start writing his own songs. He teamed with Warren, known to fans as Warren Willis, and started experimenting. After Chester Bennington's passing, they both started working for Fall Out Boy and recruited Brian, Pete Wentz's long-time tech, to play bass. Ben and Brian first met back in 2005 on the Epitaph Records tour while they were working, respectively, for The Matches and Motion City Soundtrack. The 5 songs on "Proof of Concept" were written when Ben and Warren were still working for Linkin Park and were self-produced alongside Linkin Park engineers Josh Newell and Ethan Mates. Drums for these songs were recorded in secret using Linkin Park's time in the studio while they were recording "One More Light." The fact that Ben had to learn Linkin Park songs on guitar had a huge influence on his song writing, he told us: "The chorus in The Comedown are very similar chord phrasings to One Step Closer. The chromatic nature of the bridge of Standard Issue Frustration would not have existed if it wasn't for the bridge of Given Up." Check out the lyric video for their latest single, 'Disambiguation,' below. Knifes will play an acoustic show at the Bleeding Audio and Sound Unseen virtual music showcase this Saturday November 14 at 9pm/CST. Tickets can be purchased here. Make sure to follow Knifes on social media for future updates: https://linktr.ee/knifes_band For more music, the band's YouTube channel features a few demos and outtakes from the EP.

  21. For those who don't know, last year Warner Bros. Records was rebranded as "Warner Records" after WMG's license to the "Warner Bros." name and shield logo expired (more about it here). Now LPCatalog reports Linkin Park's albums have been reissued under the new label name with the new logo. The current list of known reissues is: Hybrid Theory (CD, Vinyl) Reanimation (CD) Meteora (CD, Vinyl) Minutes To Midnight (CD, Vinyl) Road To Revolution (CD/DVD) Living Things (CD, Vinyl) The Hunting Party (CD) One More Light (CD) One More Light Live (CD) Changes from previous releases: New Warner Records logo. New catalog number. Warner website address has changed from "warnerbrosrecords.com" to "warnerrecords.com". Label Code "LC 00392" has been removed from the credits. Additionally, the new issue of Reanimation comes with the digipak booklet in a jewel case packaging. This seems to be a mistake by the label.
