  1. It's weird. I've some people saying they received it and others saying they didn't. I know at least two people in our team didn't get it. I think there's a chance Mike saw the question about Goop we sent for tomorrow's Q&A and decided to use the vinyl today.
  2. If you're subscribed to Mike Shinoda on Twitch, check your e-mails for a download of today's track created entirely with random samples. While making the track, Mike pulled up an old vinyl titled "Sex Explained For Children" to sample. Turns out this disc is the source of the talking in the Hybrid Theory era beat known as 'Goop.' The origin of those samples were one of the great mysteries in the Linkin Park world. Thanks to this track, we were finally able to solve it.
  3. Mike used the samples in the stream today. It's from this vinyl: https://www.discogs.com/Nathan-S-Leichmann-And-Stanley-Z-Daniels-Sex-Explained-For-Children/master/1338323
  4. All the Xero demos have some minor differences in the lyrics compared to the Linkin Park versions. Rhinestone, Reading My Eyes, Pictureboard and Esaul.
  5. It's the Zomba sampler version from 1998.
  6. Scratch that, the lyrics are different. Chester changes a few words in the verses and chorus and doesn't repeat the "message on my board" part in the chorus.
  7. Oh, this is interesting. I hadn't read the article yet when I posted it. I remember this was brought up before: https://lplive.net/forums/topic/12342-an-earlier-xero-tape/ It's interesting that Joe says the tape had 3 tracks, none of which made it on the album, and that Rhinestone came from a later batch after they started putting the band together. Maybe Dialate was in the original tape? I remember Mike saying on his blog Reading My Eyes was in the tape they would send to record companies AND the tape they would pass to new fans: http://www.bloggang.com/viewblog.php?id=circlegriff&date=17-06-2008&group=12&gblog=12 However, on Kerrang! Joe does say By Myself was written by Xero, so his memory might not be the best. In the Billboard article Mike talks about doing the demos with Chester and we know Mark isn't credited for the song.
  8. Warner Records will issue an exclusive Record Store Day vinyl of Meteora for Black Friday. The successful follow-up to the band’s debut album, Hybrid Theory, will be pressed on exclusive 2 x LP aqua blue vinyl and limited to 3000 copies. The expected release date is November 27, 2020. For more information, visit the Record Store Day website here.
  9. For the first time in the band's history, they got together for detailed track-by-track commentaries on every song in Hybrid Theory. Check out some exclusive behind the scenes stories from Brad, Joe and Mike on Billboard and Kerrang! Additionally, the Kerrang! article brings video interviews and a link to download photos from the Hybrid Theory era.
  10. Next person who posts a request will be banned.
  11. Yes, it was played. It's the Xero tape version. Maybe they never recorded another version of this song.
  12. By Myself is from the 2-track demo and Points Of Authority from the 6-track demo. You can download both CDs here: https://lplive.net/downloads.php/ Since the others tracks were taken from Hybrid Theory, I removed the link from your post. Please don't post download links to officially released material.

  15. Or mono for older music. lol Does HT20 being released in 3D audio mean we will soon have separate channels for the LPU tracks and new demos like what we have for Reanimation?
  16. From StreetInsider: With Amazon Music HD, customers can already stream 5 million songs in Ultra HD (better than CD quality), with a bit depth of 24 bits and a sample rate up to 192 kHz. Customers can also stream more than 60 million lossless High Definition songs, with a bit depth of 16 bits and a sample rate of 44.1kHz (CD quality), and a growing catalog of 3D Audio. Now, Amazon Music is making the biggest catalog of Ultra HD music even bigger, revealing nuances that were once flattened in files compressed for digital streaming or CD manufacturing. All titles resulting from this Ultra HD music partnership will be delivered in 24 bit and 96 kHz or 192 kHz. Hundreds of albums including Kid Cudi’s Man On The Moon: The End of Day; Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York; Waylon Jennings’ Don’t Think Twice; Diana Ross’ Diana & Marvin; B.B. King’s Lucille; Lady Gaga’s Joanne; Ariana Grande’s debut album, Yours Truly; 2 Chainz’ The Play Don’t Care who Makes It; J. Cole’s album KOD; and Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Natty Dread, have already been remastered and will soon be available to stream in Ultra HD. They add: In addition to Ultra HD remasters, select albums and songs will be remixed in 3D Audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA. Listeners will be able to stream these 3D mixes when listening through Amazon Music HD on Amazon’s groundbreaking high-fidelity smart speaker, Echo Studio. When paired with an Echo Studio, customers will experience immersive audio, which brings listeners closer to their favorite artists and songs, allowing them to experience music the way artists intended. The world’s biggest recording artists are quickly adapting these immersive formats. Albums including Tom Petty’s upcoming Wildflowers & All the Rest; Eagles Live From The Forum MMXVIII; Linkin Park’s 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory; the Ramones’ eponymous debut album; Lady Gaga’s Chromatica; Post Malone’s Hollywood is Bleeding; and Selena Gomez’ Rare, will soon be available to stream in 3D Audio.
  17. Ahead of the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary edition coming next week, Linkin Park has shared another track from the collection. It's the demo version of In The End originally released in the LP Underground Eleven CD and included in the LPU Rarities disc. The track has been remastered to fit with the rest of the LPU demos.
  18. I think there has been no confirmation Mark ever recorded Slip, but we generally assume he did because he is credited for the song on the LPU 11 booklet. He is not credited for Blue or So Far Away.

  20. They included only tracks released (B-Side Rarities) or recorded (LPU Rarities) in 1997 - 2002 (Hybrid Theory sessions and touring cycle). Reading My Eyes was performed and released in 2006.
  21. It actually is. Yeah, it's not a problem in the physical release since they're in different formats. It looks dumb on the digital release though. I'm pretty sure it will confuse some people. Did you compare the pre-chorus? That's the part that differs between the 9-track demo and 8-track demo versions. I remember comparing it but I don't remember which part of the song I got a match for. The bridge, while different from the HT EP version, is similar in both demos.
  22. It's from the documentary on the Projekt Revolution 2002 DVD. The sequel to Frat Party. Possibly the soundtrack used in the video. We'll have to compare it when it's out.
