Great show from what I saw online. Anyway, I'm not surprised by the obvious new accounts coming here to stir the poit only because they're extremely attached to a famous guy who passed 8 years ago and still not understanding the situation and how everyone has dealt with his loss properly like mature adults. I am though let down (no pun intended) by a long time user speaking out like a newcomer.

You needed to be there at the time but if you look up pretty much any interview on YT from some band members, especially Mike, he came off as if he was trying to prove something with the album like if they wouldn't had made any heavy songs before. I didn't mind it but at times it was too damn much, so much 3 years later they made their poppiest/softest record ever. You didn't need to prove anything, you needed to make a good record, which apparently they failed (kinda) to do as promised they made that album to be played live. Maybe I'm cherry picking with some words but I still have a big gripe with that era.

I'm paying 9,99$ so I'm not complaining, but I do wish we've had better perks like back then. If they're gonna release any LPU CD it's gonna be new stuff (FZ demos), anything involving Chester makes a crap ton of money so Warner is keeping it for anniversary/compillations only I assume.

I found out that information a couple of days after the album came out. The band kinda mentioned him in some interviews but they didn't make too much noise about it. Like, the legendary guy who mixed your 2 biggest records of your entire catalogue? Would be pretty logical to properly credit him, it was somewhat odd, the entire THP era still feels off to me anyway. I totally get why the band might think it's a bit too melodramatic but it's still a decent song, really like the synths/ambient sounds, Mike/Joe have always nailed them.

I've always assumed Mark didn't mind them releasing older songs he wrote. Odd.

Wait, in 2011 you were 11? You are a 2000 child? No way LMAO (never realized it until I saw your public bio here) damn I feel so old. I was still a teenager when I saw that awesome show and been following the band for over 6 years at the time.

I definitely hear some AI/enhanced bullshit on Faint but also some legit audio directly from the original recording. At this point it would be a lot easier to create multitrack samples straight from Joe's vinyl.

Can't answer the original comment as it seems that it's gone 🤨 But, aside of the obvious shows (for whatever reason I still don't consider SS '06 a MTM show BUT that perfomance took place during the making of the record so..) I would add a 2008 European date where they randomly played RME. I've always wondered why they didn't release any professional audio recording from those specific shows.

Emily's abuse of letting the crowd sing
RentEznor replied to JZLP-Benningstrong's topic in Live Talk
Good god I half forgot about this. I still have my big gripes with that whole era, don't make me throw more crap onto it. Still really enjoy some of those perfomances but that type of shit is why I enjoyed the short OML ride so goddamn much in comparison. Why play those songs just to short them up? Get rid of them if you really don't enjoy it at that point (don't care if they're the big singles and they were somewhat obligated to play them, felt so odd to hear it that way). -
We all have our own 'what ifs' moments for anything that we appreciate and love, I've definitely had my thoughts on how Chester would've handled the pandemic and (probably) and realistically quit making public appereances and potentially generally quitting music just to focus on his own well mental being. I 2000% see him support Emily and the rest of the band to keep going without him, my heart says there's no question about it. Besides that I can't add much to the topic. Social media/online has ruined a lot of things thinking it's how real life works and it's how people deal with loss. Not surprised. The more we ignore the obvious "small" noise the better, they did it Mike on Twitch 5 years ago, they're not gonna change their pathethic shitty childish mindset now. Loved Mike's PT era, loved his 2015 FM stuff too before that (can't wait for the 20th anniversary this year perhaps), I support anything positive that comes out of this.

I'm all for 'new' photoshots being released (imagine if someone leaked a raw protoshot of something like Live Earth 07 with the full break included) but I still feel let down by not getting the whole thing.

And then 3 years later they released their poppiest record. Like someone said, it was a visceral marketing made it that way on purpose to fit the themes of the album and there's 0 wrong with all of it, it's the way Mike phrased with certain statements that came off a bit eye rolling, They already made very loud and heavy tracks at the time, there was other ways to promote the album IMO. I vividly remember pretty much watching/reading all THP interviews at the time, I was enjoying the record (still do to a certain degree) until Mike "farted" those cheesy thoughts out of nowhere for the sake of getting easy headlines I assume lol. God forbid I still have a small grudge with the way he potrayed himself at that time or other times they might've said something stupid. It's not holding anyone accountable, it's mostly nitpicking certain things that I find annoying, that's it.

I'm not a festival person so this is great news if they keep headlining non-festival dates, I wonder why they didn't do them as much with Chester (at least from memory). I'm going next year, I'll be in the LPU Pit, my first time as a very long time fan! With a bit of (10%) luck I'll get a hat from Mike lol

Crossing fingers for another Acoustic Christmas show. Loved all of those perfomances they did, some of their best of their entire career.
-
I didn't expect a Super Bowl type of perfomance but that was still pretty cool.
-
From what I've read they did play 3 shows early on in 2001 with Deftones, '03, '08, the MTV show in 2010 and 2017, that's it. I might understand their frustation but they somewhat stopped being popular there since MTM even if there's still a small loud minority who likes them.

I meant post that footage to the world and professionaly edited like their making of's.

I honestly might prefer the early version/demo with the different note/key, sounds neat. They completely stopped shooting/uploading any kind of full-length documentary (the 'Inside LIVING THINGS' was a weird Xbox Live exclusive 20-minute short doc that left me very underwhelmed) since ATS which I believe it's still their best 'making of' to this date. I would've LOVED to see OML/FZ and the whole painful but creative progress that they went through with Chester and Emily respectively, I asked it for years but I understood why they prefered the intimacy of the process and chose to post short LPTV clips instead compared to their early young mindset of shooting nearly every single BTS moment.

LP Albums And Rarities For Every 20th Anniversariy Album Edition.
RentEznor replied to AJ93's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I don't think Mike would be interested at this point to do anything for TRT/FM, knowing all the confusing mess that has happened (as far as we publicly know) with the project the past decade or so it's highly unlikely. Warner probably releases some 20th anniversary merch and/or re-release but that's about it. The MTM20 seems way more likely and for me I'd kill to have an European DVD show of 2008 where they played Reading My Eyes again (aside of Japan '06). Lower your expectations. I'd love to finally see that 2015 gig they supposedly shot in LA but Mike is 100% focused on LP now.- 133 replies

Just government? Religion plays a massive part of it too and generally the idea of (straight) men being the centre of society, not just there but in many places. Wouldn't be an hypocrite myself saying they shouldn't play shows where human rights are being violated, because they would cancel half of the shows next year. But anyway, stay safe and have fun.

Just finished now and I honestly thought it was going to be HT 3.0, thankfully it wasn't. I had fun, quite solid. I greatly appreciate the Fuse & Joe sample references from his Tasty Gas Station vinyl as a person who when someone says 'old school LP' instead of thinking 2000-2006 I sometimes go back to 1996-1999/pre-HT release, it's funny how brains and perspectives work 🤠. I totally get why they decided to go back to basics but again, my brain played tricks on me and I got used hearing the band experiment for so many years after 2003 that for whatever reason I'm still stuck on that mindset, maybe I'm getting old or maybe cause I listen to lots of different stuff I'm used to variety over always wanting to hear one specific type of sound. Can't choose a fav for now, I need multiple listenings to make up my mind, hearing these songs live helps too (ATS became my personal favorite LP record due to also how fucking awesome the songs sounded live). Very excited for the chance of seeing them next year.

I assume this means no DL code if you get the physical Deluxe Edition or similar? 5$ for everything is a massive steal, especially compared to other digital stores who charge you more for less.

Ryan and Amir are so fucking kind and sweet (again). Loved this interview Mark.

As a hardcore fan they established a gold standard 14 years ago that I personally think they haven't reached since. As casual fan I definitely like the new songs and probably the rest of the album, and if I recall Mike said a couple of years ago that the was done with experimentation but the Twitch era gives me some hope someday 😊. They're definitely not shy about using classic LP elements into these new songs, let's see how the rest of the album plays out.
