  1. Usually I don't post festival lineups but since this is the only 2009 USA show for Linkin Park and has been hyped quite a bit, I thought I'd put it up this time. The show takes place on the 22nd at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. I will make a pre-show post tomorrow, so don't worry - we will have plenty of discussion about potential collaborations, etc (I know some of you are dying to make some predictions about this show). MONSTER ENERGY STAGE: 12:00 PM: After Midnight Project 12:50 PM: Sonny 2:00 PM: Paper Tongues 3:10 PM: Aesop Rock 4:20 PM: Atmosphere MAIN STAGE: 1:25 PM: Street Sweeper Social Club 2:35 PM: Hollywood Undead 3:45 PM: Atreyu 5:05 PM: Wolfmother 6:15 PM: Alice In Chains 7:40 PM: Linkin Park 9:30 PM: Tool **In addition, DJ Mike of Scratch 'N Sniff will be spinning between sets on the Main Stage** Linkin Park will be playing before Tool, which means Dead By Sunrise will be brought out in a non-headlining spot for the first time this year. Will that make a difference with the crowd? What do you guys think, will there be a largely Tool-based fanbase or will LP's hometown crowd come out and rock it hard? Thanks to 'vyonizr' for the news! Source here.
  2. Of course! I'll gladly include that one. I thought it was great when I first read it Thanks for submitting the questions so far!
  3. I thought we had She Couldn't up in direct mp3 as well as Rapidshare/MegaUpload? lol And I agree with Nick. When I bought the 8 track promo CD, it was a personal acquisition first (like: DAMN I want that CD!) and then: Hell yes the best LPL exclusive yet. I don't want to get into a war or anything with someone like if someone donated the most or something. HOWEVER, we can still do REALLY COOL giveaways to donators. Twice a month we can hold a raffle for donators and give out cool items. If you've donated, you can see the new raffle item and choose if you want your name in the raffle for it or not. We can do stuff like promos and some cool items. I think that'd be a good idea perhaps?
  4. I would rather not have ads on the site and I won't ever put them up I believe. If we do donations, it'll be like...Donator 1 (you can be anonymous if you want) donated X amount on X date, and here's the total for the month, here's the total of what we've spent, etc. We'll have a page that breaks it down to every penny so people know exactly what their money is going towards.

    Donations

I have something I'd like to get off my chest that I've been thinking about for quite a while. What do you guys think about donations for LPL? I haven't decided totally on whether to do them or not but I am just asking for your just your honest opinion on them. I was thinking maybe we could open them up? The site is starting to take a toll on our wallets - I wouldn't even bring this up if we were totally fine but some of our staff members are spending substantial amounts from their personal pockets for the sole benefit of the site and you, the community and fans. Hosting the site (we have around a terrabyte of traffic every month), buying some of our awesome exclusives, etc are quite costly and I'd like to keep bringing you stuff like that. Let me just say, Sotrix has hosted LPLive essentially cost-free since it's conception and I really would like to start getting him at least a little "something" for all of his efforts in keeping the site up basically 24/7/365. I don't want to ASK for donations if we decide to do them. It will solely be a matter of, if you like LPLive enough to willingly help us out with a dollar or two, then that would be cool. Just know that if we do, not a SINGLE penny would go towards any personal finances of any staff member (such as a ticket to a show or anything). What are your thoughts?
  6. Thanks Serg! That is a very interesting read indeed. I like how it gave so many descriptions of the tracks. I'm pretty excited for the CD now that I know there's going to be some pretty heavy songs on there.
  7. I thought I'd post a few interesting interviews for you to check out since we have a few days until the Pomona show. -Mike did an interview with Juxtapoz, an Art & Culture Magazine. View it here. He talks mostly about Glorious Excess: Dies, his new art show coming up. "MS: We have a new Linkin Park album in the works for next year, and I'm already working on my next art show. I 'd like to do my next show in New York; I'm looking for the right gallery space right now. After that, who knows? I just look for the next thing that seems exciting." -I saw on LPTimes that this guy in China that runs the Know1edge clothing line (Joe has some of the clothes in his SURU store) had dinner with Chester and Joe the other day. Read about that here. "Meeting new dope cats is always a treat, he’s a humble and a nice guy considering his success. I also had the chance to meet up with Chester (the vocalist), which is also another humble nice cat. After that I had new found respect for them and Linkin Park." -The magazine "Time Out Hong Kong" did an interview with Brad when he was in Finland. That can be read here. Brad: "We’re working with Rick Rubin, and the stuff we’re doing doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done before. It’s experimental, melodic, really eclectic. The records we’ve made we’re really proud of… but I don’t think it would be inspiring to try and go replicate that." -Chester was at the Kerrang 2009 Awards (where LP won the Classic Songwriter Award) and did a little interview for a magazine - view the scans here. Thanks to Jas from LPTimes! Did anything in any of the interviews stick out as cool to you? Find anything interesting?
  8. Of course. We'll come up with questions to ask him about other stuff too, don't worry. When we did the Julien-K interview, we asked for questions and all people submitted were questions about DBS/Chester. When we sent him the questions, you can see we added in just JK questions, questions about just him, and all of that. We wouldn't ever do that to an artist by just asking them about LP if they are involved heavily (mostly in fact) with something else. Thanks for the concern though
  9. Adam has alerted me to a new Dead By Sunrise widget, which you can check out here. I usually don't post things like this but I think it's pretty cool (I might add it to the LPLive Facebook page). The design is nice and I think they'll keep it regularly updated. LESTAT says you should totally read the "About" section on the Widget since it gives some pretty interesting information! It has codes for you to put it on Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, and tons of other sites. Enjoy!
  10. Macao wins best show of the tour as far as I'm concerned.
  11. Click the L in Charlotte in my sig for a DL link.
  12. Got it from a friend. I've already seen DBS live, I'll buy the album and a shirt, etc, I don't see the need for me to buy it on iTunes (waste of money).
  13. You can now purchase Crawl Back In, the first single from Dead By Sunrise, on iTunes. Simply search for Dead By Sunrise or Crawl Back In and you'll see it right there. If you don't feel like paying for it then just go find a torrent probably on Demonoid or something, or just ask for a link in the comments. I personally think that $1.29 for a song is complete bullshit, but hey if you support Apple then get it on iTunes. Dead By Sunrise doesn't really get much from the iTunes sale...I think they get like 2 cents maybe?, so do whatever you want. Enjoy!
  14. I don't really count Stuttgart either man, he said it at the end of Somewhere I Belong during the ending, lol. They didn't do much talking between songs. It'd be cool in Grafen if they were like FUCK this is a cool venue, what's up Ferropolis or something.
  15. You have to remember when LP plays a light-your-ass-on-fire 19 song set with talking between the songs and cool intros/outros the crowd isn't going to care if they didn't play 1 or 2 songs lol.
  16. Nothing, I just did something stupid, lol. I was moving a file and accidentally let go of the mouse button when the file icon was on the taskbar, which made the sound.
  17. Ok LPLive, we've (well, Felipe has) scored an interview with Ryu from Styles Of Beyond. For those of you who may not know, Ryu worked with Mike on the Fort Minor project, being featured on 6 songs on the album as well as quite a few on the We Major Mixtape and the Fort Minor Militia b-sides. He toured with FM in 2005 and 2006 going around the entire world. Now is your time to submit in questions for us to ask him. We'll narrow it down to about 18 or so and send them off on Friday. Post a reply in this thread if you have something to ask him. Fort Minor, touring, Styles Of Beyond, Projekt Revolution 2007, his new work with the Get Busy Committee, and his solo album are all ideas you can think about. It'll help if you think of a few complex questions versus the generic "What was Fort Minor like" questions. Remember, we want this to be another great LPL interview! Thanks!
  18. Don't hotlink please. I don't even think hotlinking works, I think Sotrix turned it off since LPL almost crashed in July in the middle of the European part of the tour due to bandwidth from She Couldn't, lol. Link to the thread or LPL homepage, something.
  19. Yep I ripped it Thank god for college! I got back from class and 10 mins later, Chester is on. [AndOne] told me and I was like...wow. They kinda need to announce it on LP.com or something when this happens.
  20. Posted! In record time too, got it up like 6 minutes after it was over, lol Enjoy!!!!!!!! God thanks Nameless for telling us man, we never would have seen that.
  21. The one in Macao is fucking incredible. Listen to ND intro from Grafen...lights go down and the synth just fuckin'...BLOWWWWWW fuckin' loud as HELL. Scares you out of your spine when it comes on. It's just epic as hell man - I hope they keep ND to start an encore, the intro is badass. Mike added the keyboard piece and it makes it just that much more epic. Mike Shinoda 2009 ftw, damn he sure has made the setlist awesome this year. ND rocks it. Mike sure has done some epic stuff this year for us.
  22. Chester was on KROQ live with Kevin And Bean at about 10:00am EST, and talked with them about Dead By Sunrise, Linkin Park, and as well as debuted 'Crawl Back In' on US radio. He called in from China and talked about a lot of things, most importantly how Lady Gaga has no vagina. Yes, he went there. Slam! Download the interview HERE. Right click -> Save As.... Of course we had to cut out 'Crawl Back In' for legal purposes (Hi Warner!), but tune in to Demonoid later today for a torrent of the lossless rip of it at some point. Thanks to 'Nameless' for alerting us to it because it was hardly announced and we definitely would have missed it! Also, isn't 'Crawl Back In' on iTunes today? Or tomorrow? Or when is it, heh?
  23. New Divide intro from Macao is fucking GREAT. The synth and keyboard piece go together perfectly. Damn Mike is really impressing me this year.
  24. Mike! ....lol
  25. [AndOne] has added the rest of the setlists from the Asian leg of the 2009 tour - you can view them on our 2009 page here. However, we are still missing a few confirmations on sets, like Osaka, Okinawa, Taipei, and a few more. There have been a few highlights such as 'Bleed It Out' at Macao - check it all out on the pages. You can actually view the video of Mike rapping verse 1 of 'Papercut' over it! Hands down major props to Mike for changing the setlist so much this year! In one tour we've gotten him to rap parts of: 'Hands Held High', 'Reading My Eyes', 'Bloc Party', 'High Voltage', 'Papercut' (rare for this tour), 'A Place For My Head', and 'Dedicated' over songs such as 'Points Of Authority', 'Bleed It Out', and 'Crawling'. Thanks Mike! If you have any information we need, let us know please! Thanks! Hope you're enjoying 'Crawl Back In'!
